After the death the Suárez sibling's family, Carlos and Consuela comforted each other and by their friends, once they told them of the massacre. It took a while for Carlos to get over it, or accept it was real. For a while, Consuela was worried Carlos would never get better. That she would loose him. However, at the end of the day it was each other that brought Carlos out of his depression.

Eventually, Carlos, with the help of his sister, and friends was able to recover. Howbeit, some things never fully returned to normality. Everyone had noticed a change in Carlos, having it to do with witnessing the death of his family. Eventhough that had horribly upset him, what had really scarred him was the fact that, in his eyes, the supes don't care for mere mortals. The supes wouldn't defend mere mortals either. Their sympathisers would turn a blind eye to all the atrocities mere mortals suffered instead of trying to help them nor themselves.

In his mind, they are all guilty and worthy of punishment. Though changed, he still acted his old self around Consuela from that point on. She was the only one, in his eyes, worthy of his warmth. For after the death of his parents and other relatives, Carlos took a dark turn far down the road. A turn that stepped away from the light he once knew, and towards the darkness that would, one day, completely consume him.

Time passed and the Suárez siblings, along with their peers had grown into their early and mid teens. Both Consuela and Carlos were beginning to show the creatings of the people they were growing into. Albeit the murderous intentions of Carlos' future had not brooded in his heart just yet. He simply found Jorge's, Pachita's, Chipotle's, and Titilayo's existence to be nuisances. Not worthy of his company, a 'fact had no problem saying to their faces, despite the looks of hurt or annoyances they gave him in return. While Titilayo was hurt by the maltreatment, Pachita, Jorge, and Chipotle really weren't surprised.

They really never received any good vibes from Carlos. He was always cold and hostile towards super-powered beings like themselves. They did everything they can to keep their distances from him. The hostility from Carlos wouldn't be bad as it was, if Jorge didn't pummel his head for insulting his dad, Simon Rivera. As much as Simon appreciated his son defending his honor, he really wished his son didn't get into fights at school, especially with Carlos.

Despite the problems, Consuela was the one who could keep her brother in check, and bring out his good moods. She was the only one who could keep him smiling. Consuela actually like the company of Titilayo and numerous friendly supes, she was also the only one who could get when they all hung out together. Carlos secretly resented the fake smiles he put on for her when they were around them. Nonetheless, he would do anything for his dear sister.

At the end of the day, Consuela wasn't always able to be around Carlos. When she was out with her friends, or Carlos couldn't stand to be in the company of his supe peers, even with Consuela around, he took the opportunity to visit his mere mortal friends at their secret hideout in the Junkyard.

Liam, Iona, Cecilia, Alveraz, and Adelina were second family to Carlos because thanks to them, he found happiness and feeling of belonging. Even though they all cared for each other above all others, Carlos had done quite a number on all 5 of them. Slowly, he poisoned their minds towards supes and their sympathisers. He even persuaded them how they should have never been allowed to exist to begin with. He slowly poisoned their minds with his ideologies one by one.

Later that evening at home, Carlos was studying for exams, until he heard a knocked on the door.

"Come in"

"Hey hermano mayor, just wanted to check on you"

"I'm fine Consuela, just preparing for exams", Carlos replied as Consuela sat on his bad behind him. She rubbed her arm awkwardly.

"I think you and Jorge could be decent friends or acquaintances", Consuela spoke with an genuine smile. Carlos quickly turned go face her and gave her an appalled look.

"What?", he asked in puzzlement, "Consuela, I don't understand, what do you mean by that? You know how much I distrust and revile that brute", Carlos staunchly responded with a frown.

"I know, I was just saying maybe it's a perfect opportunity to have a connection with him, understand where he's coming from", she replied, "I understand you two don't admire each other, but--", her sentence was cut short as Carlos stood and raised voice enough to be an inside voice.

"No Consuela! I am not going to be all so 'buddy-buddy' with a supe! They'll just let you down because they are nothing, but trouble! Also, that Rivera brat gave us so much grief and he is no different from the rest!" He scolded as crossed his arms.

"Yes, but you also know what it's like losing a father and you understand that pain like he does", Consuela tried to persuade the older boy, but fails miserably.

"Consuela you ninny! Rivera is nothing, but a backstabbing trickster. They'll give you false companionship and take advantage of your empathy."

"But Carlos--", Consuela's sentence was cut short again.

"ENOUGH, CONSUELA! I don't want to hear another word out of this! My word is final and will remain final! I don't want you spending anymore time with those monstrosities! Do you think I want to see my only sister get harmed by those wretched beasts?"

A long silence occurred between them. Neither broke eye contact, until Carlos sighed and rubbed his face, tiresome. "Lo siento, Consuela", he apologized, guiltily, "I just don't want to lose the only family I have left. Losing our parents hurt me, losing my sister will hurt me more. I just want you safe", he sat down and looked away. Consuela leaned and touched his hands in comfort.

"I understand, Carlos. I miss our parents too and I don't wanna lose you either", he looked at her as she gave him a warm smile,"I promise I won't do anything with them anymore", both Suárez siblings hugged.

"You know I love you right?" Carlos asked while still hugging her, "Me alegra llamarte mi hermana".

"Sí, I know y yo también te amo", Consuela replied, "I'm glad to call you mi hermano".

Once they both got done hugging each other, Consuela walked to the exit out of her older brother's room. Before she could to close the door behind her, she turned to Carlos once more, "Carlos?", her brother turned his head to face her.

"What if you're incorrecto?" She asked, innocently. Carlos gave a sentimental small chuckle, "Oh Consuela, you know better than to doubt your querido viejo, hermano mayor", he sweetly smiled. Consuela nodded with a smile and closed the door behind her.

Oh Carlos... Such somewhat of a good manipulator. Just how I like my villains! I apologize if this look like shit. I've been having writer's block lately.
