This ones another one that's almost three Chapters long, Don't get used to it! XD. Im going to answer the question from the last Chapter, then give the rest of my comments at the end cause.. Spoilers.

I think the most book accurate Hardbroom is 1998's Hardbroom. But My favourite is 2017. I like all of the Hardbrooms tbh. They all give different Vibes, but they are all my favourite characters in the Worst Witch..

ENJOY!

Chapter 14: Happy Hallow's End

After Mildred had left, Hecate's hands eminently went to cheek her watch… She had worn it every day since her mothers death.. It was strange to not have it on her for once. But, She needed to have some faith in Mildred, as scary as that thought was.

She Grabbed her hat, moving to her mirror to make sure it was placed on with precision. At that Moment, Pippa Walked in, still dressed completely in pink. "Hello, Darling. Don't you look witchy.." She commented, eyes raking over the other witches' choice in outfit.

"Yes, Well.. It is the most important Night of the year." Hecate turned to face the smiling witch. They'd been living together for a good couple of months now. Technically three if you wanted to count the summer holidays. Yet, Every time Pippa smiled at Her, she couldn't help the admittedly awkward panicking her brain did.

Pippa stepped closer to her witchy love. "You're missing your Watch.." Of Course She'd notice. The Students may think she's decided to just not wear it this evening. Some teachers may give her a funny look. But Pippa knew what that watch meant.

"I've lent it to Mildred for the evening. I have many Heirlooms, she has none." Hecate stated, plain and simply.

"Oh, Hiccup. That's so very sweet of you.." Pippa looked at her with this soft, loving expression, as if Hecate had just saved fifteen cats from a burning tree.. "I thought after earlier you would have done the bare minimum, not given her your mothers Watch.."

"Iv hardly gave it to her, she's simply borrowing it for the evening. Her Punishment for today's extreme lack of judgement will start tomorrow. Tonight is of too much importance to focus on such a trivial matter."

"Oh please, If it was any other Student, they'd be staying in this evening. You're going soft, Hecate." Pippa moved forward to place a kiss on Hecate's Cheek before moving away to her wardrobe. Before Hecate could complain over the blatant slander in that sentence, Pippa continued. "I've checked on all Pentangle students and Cackles students, just to save you some worry. I didn't know how long this thing with Mille would go on for.. They are just doing the final touches now."

Hecate and Pippa's style of teaching and school running differed greatly. But, sometimes Pippa and her can see eye to eye. The Children probably preferred the Fashionable and stylish Miss Pentangle to check on them, with her kind words and encouraging smile. Hecate would double check her form when it came round to it, but it sure did save her time to not be running around telling students 'No, You can't paint your whole face red.', 'Your cats are not coming' and 'For goodness sake, child, put down the broom!'

"Thank you.. Pipsqueek. I appreciate it." Hecate mumbled as she moved into the Main living quarters with her cape, strapping it on with ease. She looked herself over, Everything had to be in place. Not a hair could be stray..

It didn't take Pippa long to exit the bedroom, Now dressed in a White dress similar in style to her Pink one, with a Black Cape and hat. It wasn't the most traditional look, but it was still rather witchy. Hecate had to admit, she looked rather good.

"How do I look, Hiccup?" Pippa asked as she gave a twirl. Beautiful, Stunning, Megentic, all of those came to Hecates mind.

But alas, she settled for a simple nod and "You look nice, Pippa."

"Just nice? I thought I looked a little nicer than nice.." Pippa prompted, moving in closer, her voice sounded like it was only somewhat Joking, behind that was a slight hurt that Hecate thought she -only- looked nice.

It was Hecate's own fault, of course. She Had never been very good at conveying her emotions well. She often felt rather embarrassed when it came to the more positive side of things.

"You.." Hecate started, her eyes looking away slightly, She couldn't bear to look at Pippa bright orbs, hopefully and doing it's best to hide the hurt. "Always look beautiful." She Whispered in the end.

Pippa brought a hand up to rest on Hecate's cheek, forcing her to look at her fully. Her face smiley, her eyes full of love. "Thank you, Darling." Pippa knew she was beautiful, Hecate knew she knew. But, for some reason, Only Hecate's opinion on this seemed to matter.

Pippa moved in to place a small kiss on Hecate's lips, it was only for a moment. Something reassuring and love filled. "You look stunning, by the way, My love. You really should wear your hair down more often."

Stunning? Hecate? She'd never class herself in that league. Vain was a dreadful quality for a witch. Despite this, She'd never classed herself as being partially ugly. She was tall, lanky and pale, but.. She'd never thought of herself as Ugly. Just, not the epitome of Beauty. But for pippa? She was truly stunning. And that meant the world to Hecate.

"It'd get in the way of my work." Hecate spoke in response. Her hair looked nice down, but it always annoyed her in the end.

"Maybe, but when you're not working.. It'd be nice to see."

"I'll.. Think about it." Hecate settled on.

Time was drawing nearer, even without her Watch, she could tell. The Pair Exited the teachers Apartments, departing for their respective classes..

Over the next ten minutes, students came flocking into the Potions lab. To Her surprise, Maud, Enid and Milldred were early for once. They all looked rather grown up ready for the Witching Hour. Mildred shot Hecate a small, further showing Her excitement.

"Sit down, Girls. We have half an hour before we make our way to the Location!" Hecate announced once the clock striked Eleven. It was rather late for them to all be awake..

She grabbed hold of her clipboard. "You may talk quietly among yourselves for now." She informed them as she went down the board, ticking off every student's name that was there. It seemed that not a single one had been missing. All on time and ready to go. She Looked them over, making sure that not a single hair was out of place.. There was some questionable face paint, but that was to be expected.

"Attention, Girls!" She commanded, everyone's eyes turning to look upon their teacher. "In a moment, I will be escorting you outside, and leading you to the location. Make sure you have everything you may require with you.." She looked over the students before speaking very slowly, letting her words seep in. "Before.. We leave."

She gave them a moment to keep over before leading them through the hallowed halls of Cackles, straight out into the dark night, and into the dreaded woods. Her Eyes kept a keen look out, while her ears skillfully listened in on her students conversations.

"You know.. HB Looks less terrifying with her hair down.." She heard Enid whisper, most likely to Maud and Mildred.

"It's very long, isn't it.." Maud Commented. Hecate was a rather tall woman, and her hair did come to her waist..

"It's really pretty.." Mildred Chimed in. She didn't typically like people talking behind her back..

"And what are you three on about over here..?" She heard Ethel chime in, clearly joining the trio. "Wait! Let me guess…is it about your family artefacts? Oh wait.. Mildred won't have one, will she.." Hecate has met many Girls like ethel.. Pippa had been friends with quite a few Ethel's back in school. It brought another side of Anger to Hecate. She'd never blame Mildred if shot back one day.

"I'm surprised you have one, Ethel. I would have thought your mom would have given them all to Esme or Sybil.." Enid Bit back, always the straight talker.

"It's alright, Guys. Haha, You're very funny Ethel." Mildred replied, dismissing the girl. It was not the reaction Ethel had wanted, which just infuriated her more. Hecate admired Mildreds ability to keep things hush hush. She had no doubt Enid and Maud knew about the Watch.

It'd be ever so easy for Mildred to say something like 'well actually, Miss Hardbroom gave me hers!' and really shut up Ethel. But she remained discreet over the matter. An admirable quality for such a chatty girl.

The Class walked through a beautiful arched opening to a large area surrounded by trees. A Raging bonfire stood in the centre of the area. There was a small stage on the opposite side to the clearing, and a Magical band sat near it. The Trees had decorations stringing all along them, pumpkins, Bats and Skeletons, lined with small fairy lights. And who could forget the delightful spread of Witch approved food.

Hecate turned quickly to look at her students. "You are to stay within this area. Anyone found to be wondering about the woods, will be punished heavily!" She waved her hand up, disappearing from her spot, and reappearing next to Miss Cackle.

"Oh, Hecate.. Look at this place. Tis the Hallow's end to end all ends!" Ada Laughed, clapping along with the instruments playing some classical music for the evening. It was upbeat enough the children could dance to it, but proper enough even Miss Hardbroom couldn't complain. "It's been a long while since the schools celebrated anything out here.."

Hecate nodded slightly. It was rather. The last time she recalled being here was when she was a student. Miss Broomhead had her retirement party out here. She sometimes wondered what happened to Miss Broomhead. Obviously she retired. But is she still alive, It was about.. Twenty Eight years ago or so now. She'd hear nothing more after her 'goodbye, don't screw up again' speech before she left that day.

"It seems all the students are here now, Ada… Perhaps Now would be a good time for a speech." Hecate prompted, receiving a thankful nod in return.

Ada stood up on the stage. It was strange seeing so many colourful teachers dressed in Blacks.. For Pippa, Black and white. But the cape hid a lot of the white, so it was mainly black in the end. In a way, she loved seeing it. It was the epitome of witchyness. But on the other hand, she'd grown accustomed to the difference in every teacher.

"Ladies and Mr Rowan-Webb." Ada started looking among the students. "It is my absolute honour to welcome you to the witch's hour! Please stay within this area, for the next hour, drink, dance, eat! At some stage, the traditional Witches Dance around the fire! I announce it's now.. The Witching Hour of All Hallow.." All the teachers lifted their hands to the sky, letting colourful stripes fly up into mini fireworks. Signaffing the time and date. 00:00 31st of October.

The Girls clapped and squealed, it's been a while since they were allowed a night of pure joy and freedom. Within reason.

When a slower song began to play, various girls grabbed there best friend, holding onto there hands and 'dancing', it was more like Swaying in time than dancing. Even Miss Bat and Mr Rowan-Webb decided to dance together. Hecate's eyed the dance floor, smiling softly at the three person dance of Enid, Maud and Mildred.

"It's a beautiful song.." Pippas voice rang out besides her, prompting Hecate to look over at her.

"It is indeed." Pippa nodded, ringing her hands together in front of her. "Whatever you have to say, say it." Hecate tried to prompt her. She could spot a nervous Pippa from a mile off.

"Your free to say no, Ofcourse.." Pippa rushed out. "But.. I was wondering.. If you;d like to dance.." She was asking Hecate for a dance.. It wasnt as if they hadnt danced together before.. Just, never in front of her students.. Unless you were counting Mildred in stared at her for a moment, Prompting Pippa to continue. "I Know it's not really professional.. But if Gwen and Rowan can, why can't we?" It was a bloody good question.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with two lovers having a family friendly dance on an off night. All the staff already knew about the pair.. The fact the students hadn't found out was a wonder. Ofcourse, there'd be a good number of students who'd think it was just two friends dancing.

Truth is, Hecate had never been great at showing her emotions to the world. And this felt like letting a good few people into her private life and yelling about how she felt.

She was clearly taking too long to reply, She could see Pippa about to give up and wonder off. Part of her was screaming that it was a terrible idea, that she shouldn't be putting her emotions on display for the school. On the other hand, she wanted to put her emotions on display for Pippa, and let her know how much she meant to her.

Hecate Quickly whispered out. "I'd be honoured to dance with you, Pipsqueek." She made sure to use that nickname, just so she knew how serious she was about this.

Pippa's Eyes lit up before she gently took hold of Hecate's hand, leading her out to the Dance floor. Eyes were on the moment they stepped onto that floor. They held onto each other, a bit closer than the student friends were. Swaying and stepping to the beat of the song.

They stayed there for quite a while, whispering small talk as the night drew on. Soon, Ada stood back onto the Stage as she yelled out "Now, I think it's time.. For the Witches dance!"

Before Ada could move off the stage, she was flung to the side and into a tree. "Not so fast, Miss Cackle. I believe there's more announcements to be had" Said an all too familiar Voice. Juile Hubble stepped up onto the Stage.

It'd been months since they had last seen her.. The Normie mother who loved art was no more. Here she stood, Looking more like the Phantom of the opera, with half a face of stone, and full back witch's regalia, Hat included. It seemed Miss Hubble had been doing her homework..

Hecate and Pippa moved forward. They could see Ada was already being helped by Miss Drill, so their concern was purely on the Rogue Witch before them.

"Miss Hubble! I hardly think now is the time-" Hecate started, being cut off by an explosion off towards the school. A Massive Orange smoke flew up into the sky. Hecate's eyes widened before looking back at Julie, she was definitely here.. So, who was attacking the school?

Hecate yelled out to everyone else around her.. "Get The Students back to Cackles!" That was after all the plan. If everyone was following it, Miss Spellbinder should already be at Cackles and contacting the grand Wizard, now it's a game of defence and stall.

"Not so fast, HB.." Miss Hubble said as two other witches stepped out of the woods, making a triangle all together. Hecate Vaguely Recognized the witches in question. Bindweed and Coldstone.. They were outcasted Witches many years ago.

The Three Unwanted witches started firing off their spells, causing the food to fly over, the instruments to break, and the trees to set on fire. Hecate looked around, seeing student after student Scream and duck before running to where Mr Rowan-webb was calling out to them to run to. Hecate looked over to Pippa who gave her a nod before running to deal with one of the other witches, No Doubt Ada would take the third one.

Hecate began to march towards the stage when she was stopped by a hand gripping at her arm and pulling her back, she looked over and saw a very frightened Mildred.

"Mildred! You need to go back to Cackles, Now!" Her Voice wavered, but she did her best to keep it commanding, leaving no room for arguments.

"No! I can't let you fight for me again!" Mildred Cried out, tears already springing in her eyes. "I just can't!"

"For once in your life, Listen to me!" Hecate bellowed back. "Go back to cackles and stay safe, Mildred!"

Mildred was not backing down, even as the tears started falling. "But what about you? Please, Hecate! I don't want you to get hurt again!" Mildred was gripping onto her arm for dear life. "I love you, I don't want you to leave me!"

Hecate's heart practically stopped. Pippa had told her she loved her. But, she had never been told that by a child. Hecate's head looked round to see Juile blowing up a garden chair… Hecate looked back to Mildred, smiling a sad smile.

"Mildred. I promise you, I'll return. But right now, You need to be safe." Hecate hated to do it, but she needed it. She waved her hand, letting Mildred disappear, hopefully back to Cackles.

Mildreds words rolled round in her head. She had to make sure she went home at the end of the day..

Eeeeeep! Cliff hanger- Sorry! This one was a lot more Hecate x Pippa centred, I felt like i'd sort of left them to it for the time being, so I wanted to revisit that a little more.

The next chapter, won't be following Hecate or Mildred! Instead it will be following Juile. Because she's not as involved, the only thing -you- as the reader sees, is when she pops up, or the characters get some information.

But Juile's been off having her own adventure, that our Main characters have -no- idea about! So, rather than me just.. Tell you, I'm writing a lovely long chapter so you can go on that adventure with her!

Make sure to follow and Fav this story, it means the world to me! And don't forget to leave a Review! I want to hear all about your thoughts and feelings on this one! What do you thinks coming?
