I had some pretty terrible news today, a family member has passed away. So, you've got a much shorter chapter today.

I kinda needed to write to distract myself, but at the same time, I'm too sad to write today.

Enjoy the chapter nonetheless. The next one will be longer, I promise.

Chapter 18: Hecate's pain..

Hecate slowly pulled the door to on Mildreds Bedroom, She let out a shaky sigh. She was too tired to argue tonight. Too Tired for anything really. She'd gotten a real earful from Ada and Pippa. Pippa was worried above all else. Ada was mad at her for even attempting that spell! "You could have gotten yourself Killed, Hecate!" Ada had practically screamed at her as they hobbled her back to the School. Pippa looked at her with sad worry the whole way too.

She didn't fully know what she was thinking. She stood before Miss Hubble, Mildred's words circling round in her head, and she just saw red. The only spell that came into her mind, with the spell of Ultima Magik.

Hecate wandered into her room, still shaking. Being hit by lightning is never fun, nor is using up ninety percent of your magical ability. She felt positively drained. Her hand came up, swooshing as her clothing changed to one of her black night dresses. It caused a bolt of pain to fly through her head. She closed her eyes tightly shut, allowing the pain to pass. She hadn't even noticed Pippa enter.

Her delightfully pink witch was by her side in an instance. "Oh, Hiccup!" She cooed as she sat down besides her, placing her arms around her. "You shouldn't push it, Darling."

Hecate shook her head slightly. "I'm fine, Pippa." She was indeed not fine.

Pippa scoffed. "You keep telling yourself that.. But if you start shaking anymore, you'll turn into an earthquake!" Pippa was ever the dramatic one. "Lie down, and I'll tell you about the talk with Ada and the grand wizard." She spoke to her like a child, luckily, hecate couldn't care less this evening.

The Grand wizard had got there just as they got back. They deemed Hecate in no state to participate.. Hecate was feeling much unlike herself today, and she would have much rather checked on Mildred.

Hecate climbed into bed, melting into it. "Now.. Tomorrow, none of the students are expected to be up till Twelve.. That'll also include you.." Hecate was about to retaliate. They expected her to just.. Sleep in? She had work to get on with! "The Teachers along with the Great Wizard have looked around the forest, no sight of them.." She sighed before continuing. "They took the picture of Agatha.."

It seemed before taking over Cackles, Agatha had been very busy. She'd manage to form a way-ward coven, and they seemed destined to mess with Cackles. Ofcourse, they'd have to figure out a way to release her from the Painting. It'd take a strong magical source, they'd have a hard time finding one of those.. Although.. They had Julie.. And Juile had the founding stone.. Meaning.. They had the founding stone.

"How's Millie?" Pippa said after moments of silence, waving her hand over her, letting her clothing change into something far more night time appropriate. She slipped into bed next to Hecate.

"Worried. She's asleep now, thankfully." Hecate mumbled, sleeping already gripping at her. She heard Pippa's voice speaking besides her, but she couldn't quite place what she was saying..

She drifted off into a peaceful slumber. The next day would bring many issues for them, but they would tackle them one at a time..

Make sure to leave that reviw, thanks for reading.
