The mood was tense after Sonny's words.

Even this Sanctuary was unsafe.

All eyes were on Sonny, who looked pale.

He closed his eyes.

This was almost too much.

"Sonny?" The sound of Micro Ice's voice snapped him out of it.
"I'm okay. We'll go find D'Jok. Meanwhile, the entire Sanctuary goes into lockdown. We have to find the enemy. Luur, we need your help. You know Xenons better than anyone." Sonny said, looking at him.

Luur nodded.
"We don't need someone ruining our reputation." Luur said.
"We also have to take into account that everyone can be used. Including all of us" Warren interjected.

His words made Clamp worried.

"Until we know for sure, should we suspend the training sessions?" Aarch asked thoughtfully.
"No, that's exactly what they want us to do. But don't worry, I think I have a plan." Sonny said.

D'Jok tried to shake his pursuers by trying to hide. He managed to sneak into a store undetected and got himself a hoodie to hide his signature red hair.

He managed to turn around a corner undetected and doubled back, now being behind his pursuers. They looked confused. Like two bloodhounds that lost the scent of their prey. D'jok managed to blend into the crowd.

Almost.

From the corner of his eye,D'Jok noticed he was being tailed. Someone in a black leather suit, on a motorcycle was following him from the main road.

He suddenly noticed his transmitter was blinking like crazy.

"Don't answer, they might get back on track. Head straight, and I will pick you up around the corner." Corso's voice told him.

D'Jok felt relief wash over him as he realized it was Corso tailing him on the bike.

As soon as he could sneak off the path, he saw Corso brake and hand him a helmet.

"Get ready for a bumpy ride. Keep your head down. The Sanctuary is locked until we find them." Corso sighed.

D'Jok sat down behind Corso, as he pushed the throttle.

The roar of the engine was all it took for his pursuers to look in his direction, and realize they were about to lose their prey.

"Stop them!" One of them yelled.

"Go!" D'Jok shouted to Corso.

"Hang on tight kid." Corso answered as he sped off.

Flora went pale as Sonny called and told them what he discovered.

"For now, the Sanctuary is under lockdown until we know more." He said.

Otis, who had also joined in, was skeptical.

" We know what they want. You, Sonny." He said. Callie had put a hand on Sonny's shoulder.

"It's always you, isn't it?" She said. Otis nodded, before he looked at Sonny.

"This happened before. This time, you might not be as lucky." He said. Sonny's eyes narrowed.

"We'll have to change some things but otherwise, we keep going with the Match." He said. He heard the door open, as Corso and D'Jok entered.

"D'Jok…" Mei, who had been quietly standing in a corner, ran over to him for a tearful embrace.

D'Jok looked at his father.

"Do we know who they are?" He asked.

Sonny shook his head.

"Not yet, but we'll find out. Every Blackbones Family member that's here is staying hidden." Sonny said.

Everyone looked at him.

"Any more we should be worried about?" Corso asked, gritting his teeth.

Sonny nodded.

"For now it's safer for them if I keep it to myself. Let's focus on training." Sonny said, as they prepared to do just that.

Cobra received the report from his servants.

Their target got away.

"Search the entire Sanctuary! We have to find and catch him." He ordered.

"He's this galaxy's Guardian; can we do that?" The servant asked.

Cobra sighed.

"I don't care. We're here to conquer, not adhere to age-old traditions."

With that, Cobra ended his transmission and started one with the Warlord.

The Holo training was getting ramped up.

Aarch was getting worried about how hard everyone was getting pushed.

Once practice was over, Sonny stayed back as D'Jok and Mei exited the training.

Aarch looked at him.

"Training's difficult against an opponent you don't know, isn't it?" He said.

Sonny nodded.

" We'll have the military on standby just in case they try something. I'm waiting to hear back from the Seraphs too." He said.

Clamp shot him a look.

"It's wearing on you, isn't it?" He commented.

Sonny nodded.

"I'm just glad I'm not alone in this." He confessed.

Aarch smiled.

"I think I have some ideas for training." He suggested.

"So that you won't wear everyone out before the match."

This made Sonny smile.

"Let's hear it."

Nothing!

D 'Jok vanished without a trace.

The man on the motorcycle must have been a Pirate.

They were back to square one.

The Warlord wasn't happy.

They needed someone to find where Sonny was hiding.

And now he knew they were looking for him.

It was probably the Seraphs.

Not that they ever managed to stop him.

They had watched helplessly as the Andro Zygnans conquered Galaxy after Galaxy.

This time, it shouldn't be any different.

Especially since they choose the weakest beings of this Galaxy; a human, to be the Guardian.

Cobra was contacted by one of the servants.

"Find as much information about him as possible. He's bound to have a vulnerability." Cobra ordered.

The servant could only nod.

This fight had only just begun.

Callie spent a lot of time researching the Seraphs.

Not much was known about these mysterious beings.

She had loads of information about them, now that they were around so often.

The Seraphs always came in a group of four, two to share their story with her, and to help Corso, and the other two worked with Sonny, to prepare him for the task he had to take on.

She just hoped Sonny wouldn't push himself too hard.

That would be bad in the long run.

No matter how much the Seraphs insisted it had to be this way.

At least they used their experience to help him.

And they liked the idea of settling it with a Football Match, avoiding casualties.

She could see him and the seraph's leader talking quietly.

She turned her attention back to the one she was talking with.

They told her about being an observer to the wars that the Andro Zygnans started.

Callie used a recorder to make sure she didn't miss anything that they said.

The Seraph smiled at her.

"We almost lost hope, but the way this Galaxy and its Guardian are handling things has restored it. Your Galaxy's way of thinking is… Unorthodox, but that just might be the answer. We wouldn't have thought of a Football Match ourselves. Especially since the Andro Zygnans are not used to that challenge. A challenge of fairness and community. We just hope this will be enough." the Seraph ended.

Sonny smiled.

"As long as everyone realizes what's on the line, things will be fine." Sonny said, looking at his son.

D 'Jok nodded.

"Do we have a way to block out their telepathy? That can be a problem." He said.

Sonny nodded.

"I asked Clamp to come up with a jammer that we can attach to our uniforms. I just wonder if they have their own Flux. " He said.

D 'Jok nodded.

"Dad, is it safe for us to play? They're looking for you." He said.

The Seraphs looked serious at them.

"They're looking for his entire family. Do not think their revenge will stop at Sonny. They will try to raze your entire family."

Things are getting scary.

Sonny has a huge load on his back.

WIll he break? Or share the load?

What role do the Seraphs play?

Are they really after Sonny? Or someone else?

I'm not sure how many chapters I will need to wrap this up, but I am trying to keep it reasonable.

Thank you to Paranoidgirl for everything, her advice and discussions.
