Chapter 10
As soon as Ash exited the stadium, he was met by his mother, Professor Oak, and a man he didn't recognize.
"Ash!" called Prof. Oak.
"Oh, hi professor!" said Ash, going over to meet him.
"I must say," he continued, "you have some interesting Pokemon. Would you mind if I had a look at your Eevee?"
"Maybe," said Ash, "if she agrees. But in any case, I have to heal her first."
"Oh, right," said Professor Oak.
"Ash!" Ash was suddenly squashed in his mothers' hugs. "I'm so proud of you! You were amazing!"
"Ok… but… can… you… put… me… down… now?" Ash choked out. Delia complied and set Ash down.
"Dang, your mom is really protective," telepathed Latios jokingly.
"Oh shut it," said Ash.
"Anyway," said Professor Oak, "about your Pokemon… I noticed you caught a few Legendaries lately. Care to explain?"
"Uh, what do you mean professor?" asked Ash.
"Come on Ash," said Professor Oak, "you know every time you catch a Pokemon I get notified about it on my computer."
"Right," said Ash, "but could we talk about this somewhere else? How about we go to my room in the Pokemon Center?"
The Professor nodded his head in agreement.
"Uh, Latios?" said Ash telepathically.
"Yes?"
"Where was the Pokemon Center again?"
"Follow me," Latios mentally laughed with Latias giggling along.
"Hey! It's not my fault I have a bad sense of direction," said Ash.
A Few Minutes Later in the Pokemon Center…
"Ok, before I tell you anything, I want to know who this guy is," said Ash gesturing to Professor Birch.
"Allow me to introduce myself," said Professor Birch, "my name is Professor Birch. I am an old friend of Oak's. I give trainers their starter Pokemon in the Hoenn region."
"Alright," said Ash, "but just to confirm, everything I tell you stays top secret agreed?"
Both professors nodded, eager to see Legendary Pokemon in real life.
"Ok Latios, Latias, you can reveal yourselves now!" called Ash. In response, there was a shower of light and Latias appeared soon followed by Latios.
"Wow, I never thought I'd see Legendary Pokemon in person," marveled Professor Oak. Professor Birch was speechless.
"This is Latios and this is Latias," said Ash, motioning to the two of them.
"Aww, your Latias is so cute!" said Delia, going over to pet her.
"Latios, Latias, this is Professor Oak and this is my mom," said Ash. Latios nodded while Latias cooed under Delia's stroking.
"So, Ash," said Professor Oak, "how did you manage to catch Latios and Latias?"
"Well," said Ash, "it's a long story, but to put it shortly, these two crooks, Annie and Oakley, tried to capture Latios and Latias. By doing so, they accidentally shattered the Soul Dew, which keeps Altomare's waters calm. When the Soul Dew shattered, a massive tidal wave formed. Latios and Latias had to stop it to protect the city, but Latios would have ended up dying in the process. Thankfully, Latias and I managed to save him as well as the city. Afterward, Latios and Latias decided to travel with me."
"Interesting," said Professor Oak, "but something tells me you're not telling me the whole story,"
Ash sighed, "Alright, how did you know?"
"Well, my computer said that you also caught a third Pokemon, but it couldn't identify the species. After talking it over with Birch, we found out that you had caught the Legendary Latius. After hearing your story, I think our theory is confirmed. Ash, are you Latius?"
"Ok, you win," said Ash, "yes, I am Latius. I gained my form after saving Latios' life at Altomare."
"Hold on," said Delia, "what do you mean you're Latius?"
"I'll show you," said Ash, "just please don't freak out," With that, Ash's body started to glow. In a few seconds, Ash had disappeared. In his place was what looked like an orange Latios, or rather, the Legendary Latius.
Despite already knowing about Ash, the professors nearly fainted in shock. Delia, on the other hand, was standing there blinking rapidly. She stood there for a while before turning and glaring at Latios and Latias.
"Alright! What did you do to my son?" Delia demanded.
"Mom, it's ok," said Ash, "it's not like I'm being hurt or anything, and they couldn't help it,"
Delia sighed. "Alright, sorry, I just overreacted,"
"That's ok," said Latias, floating to Delia.
"Before you ask anything," said Ash, "all that I know is that I was given this form in order to save the world from this organization called 'Team Void'."
"Alright, just promise me you'll stay safe," said Delia.
"I can't promise anything mom," said Ash, "but I'll try to stay safe,"
"Delia's sure taking this well," said Professor Birch.
"Considering some of the things Ash has done in the past, it isn't too much of a shocker…" trailed off Professor Oak.
"What kinds of things?" asked Professor Birch.
"Honestly, there are too many to name." said Professor Oak, "Ash is sort of like a magnet for trouble. Trouble always finds him even though it's no fault of his. Even I got involved in one of Ash's adventures, but that's a story for another time."
"Wow," said Professor Birch, "that kid must really be something special,"
Professor Oak laughed. "That, I'm sure of,"
Later…
"Bye Professors! Bye mom!" shouted Ash.
"By my boy!" "Take care Ash!" came the replies.
"Well, guys," said Ash, "what should we do now?"
"I say we go to bed," said Latios, "it's been a long day and you have another match tomorrow."
"I guess you're right," said Ash, yawning.
So Ash, Latios, Latias, and Pikachu headed up to their room and drifted off into a peaceful sleep.
Location: ?
"Boss! Boss!"
"Yes, what is it?"
"We've finished that machine you've been waiting for sir,"
"Have you? Then my plans for world domination are complete! All that's left to do is to take it! Ahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!"
Well, that's the chapter. Sorry for the shortness, I'm just getting into this story.
I thought it would be good to clear out Ash's interaction with the professors as well as put a little foreshadowing in.
