It had been a couple weeks with no communication which Olivia decided was a good thing for now. She needed to get her bearings straight and figure out what her next move was. She continued to talk to Edgar but they both decided they were better at lending an ear than as a couple. She was collecting files and closing her laptop as Fin knocked tentatively at her door.
She smiled up at him and took off her readers. "Hey, what's up?"
Her smile was quickly replaced by a scowl as she noticed how uneasy Fin looked. She knew she was not going to like whatever he had to say.
Fin cleared his throat, sat in the chair across from her and laced his finger together. "Listen.."
Olivia scoffed, "Jesus, Fin! You know I hate when you do this." She moved her laptop into her bag.
Fin grinned a bit at her obvious irritation. "You need to get laid."
Olivia stopped her movements and stared open mouthed at him. They had been friends for over twenty years and if anyone should be allowed to say that to her it's him, but she was shocked he said it at all. She leaned back in her chair and stared at him. "Excuse me?" She shook her head a little as she asked.
"Listen Liv, we have been friends forever, I know you, sometimes better than I think you do." He sat up in his chair and added, "you have been on a rampage for the last two weeks, every little thing has made you more pissy than the last. You need a break and you need to cut loose, come out with us tonight. I know you don't have Noah tonight so you have no other reason not too."
"Besides the fact that I am the boss?" Her eyebrows raised at him.
Fin smacked his lips at her. "Cut the shit Liv, let's just go out and have a fun time. There isn't any harm in relaxing with your friends."
Olivia sighed. "I guess your right. It has been a while since I got to enjoy an evening with you guys. Let me go home and get changed. Where are you going?"
Fin smiled, obviously relieved it didn't take more convincing, "I'll send you the location. This is a good thing, Liv, you'll see."
She rolled her eyes at him. "Who is going?"
Fin knew what she was asking. "Why ruin the fun?"
"Fin... I don't want you to keep setting up meets for us. We are adults. We have to figure out what we are in our own sweet time."
"You and Stabler are the most stubborn people I have ever met. You both will hold your ground until the end but that's not interesting. We are all too old for the games and back and forth. Aren't you tired of pretending? I have known since day one that you guys would end up together, why fight it? Besides I already know that you bit the bullet already." Fin smiled at his last statement.
Olivias eyebrows went up again. "Oh do you now? When did you become such a gossip?" Damn Elliot, when did he stop being able to keep his mouth shut?
"It ain't gossip if it's true." Fin shrugged at her. "Come on Liv. Let's go have a nice evening. No drama, I promise!" With that he stood up and walked out of her office.
She sighed as she packed the rest of her things and headed out herself right after him.
