I found myself on my back in the middle of the clubhouse, staring up at the bookshelf slatted ceiling. A pair of emerald green eyes masked behind a set of spectacles peered over to greet me. It was Raine.

"There you are," Raine gave a full faced smile, "Have you seen Eda? Today's our hooky day."

I shook my head, letting the day's events flood my head. The Emperor's Coven attacked and forced children to join a coven, I had witnessed Eda go from wanting to join said Coven to rejecting it, I'm now a wanted criminal and have this girl that is after me. My head spun at the thought of how much happened in such a short period.

"Raine," I pulled myself up and wrapped the witch into a hug. They seemed taken aback by this act, but eventually accepted it, "Things aren't good. . ."

"What do you mean?" Raine turned to me, their face plastered with concern.

"We need to find Eda, and I'm wanted for being human, and I don't know how I'm going to get out of-"

My train of thought was interrupted by an explosion that set the whole clubhouse shaking. Before I could say anything more, Raine was at the door, their expression changing to a look of wild joy.

"It's Eda!"

I raised a brow at this. The fact that Eda was known for causing such large explosions should not have been surprising at this point, but for some reason it still caught me off guard. Part of me wanted to go with my friend but I knew better.

"As a wanted criminal, and a magic-less human," I sighed, flopping onto the couch, "I'm afraid I must stay. You go on ahead."

Raine gave a curt nod and I turned my attention back to the poster. Hooty helped me find that one book. Perhaps he could help me find another.
