July 31st

A very unforgettable day for Lily Evans-Potter.

It started off as a very ordinary day for her and her family. As any other morning, she was on the kitchen humming while making breakfast – her left hand was rubbing her bulged stomach gently.

Always beaming whenever she felt her son answering her with a gentle kick – but that also means she constantly needs to go to the bathroom. But that didn't worsen her mood like it always does, as she knows that any day now, she could finally have her prince in her arms.

"Good morning, Lilyflower!." Sirius cheerful loud voice was the first voice she heard this morning.

"Good morning." Lily greeted back, as cheerful as she could, while he tried to hold her trip to the bathroom for a while for the pancakes that would be burnt if she left them now.

"You look so huge, Lily – I am not calling you fat." Sirius immediately added fearfully when he saw Lily glaring at him, "What I meant is that are you sure you're expecting only one child?." Sirius asked curiously as he went on, "I mean you look like you're about to pop any day now and you're only seven months pregnant."

"Am I that big?." Lily whispered to herself but Sirius still managed to heard her, though, he said nothing that might tick the pregnant witch off with her temper. "The doctor says there's only one baby in my womb, Paddy. Don't doubt the professionals."

"Yeah," Sirius couldn't but to scoffed loudly, earning a scowl from the pregnant witch, " – muggle doctors but what about medi-wizards and medi-witches in our world?."

"Did I just heard you belittle Muggles?." Lily's voice definitely dropped a few octaves as her gripped on the spatula tightened, no doubt that she would be throwing – or worse – hitting that to Sirius for the next ten seconds if he won't explained what he meant with his previous statement.

"I swear on my magic that I am not belittling Muggles, Lily." Sirius solemnly said, as he visibly sagged in relief when she continues to flipped the pancakes, satisfied with his answer.

"What I'm really trying to say is that there's some things that magic can do that technology can't." Sirius explained slowly, wording his words wisely before he offended her again.

"But forget what I said," Sirius shrugged as he leaned on the chair, "Like you said I shouldn't doubt the professionals." He made sure his voice sounded light and teasing, his statement bring smiles on their lips as Lily served their breakfast.

"Where's the others?."

"Moony would be here soon I'm sure, I don't know about Peter though, he wasn't in his room last night," Sirius shrugged as he took a mouthful of food on his mouth, savoring every bite. "And I don't know why your husband's still not here –" Sirius's eyes gleamed mischievously, "Take pity of our friend, will you? . . . Don't wore him out too much." The unsaid implications within his words earned Sirius a smack on his shoulders.

"We're infront of the table!." Lily hissed as she again smacked him when she heard him murmured something suspiciously sounded like prude.

"It's too early for you two to argue," James yawned and stretched his sore limbs. He adjusted his glasses and dazedly admired the food infront of him, "You prepared all of this didn't you?."

"For the last time James, I can do house chores." Most of the times, James loves his wife's stubbornness and her willingness to do any length just to achieve whatever that she'd wanted. But he absolutely hate it when she do that trait to him.

"You're worrying over nothing, I'm pregnant not disabled." Lily narrowed her eyes as if she was waiting for James to argue with her, and James is certainly not in a mood with arguments.

Somewhere in the kitchen, James could swear on his magic that he heard someone summoning a popcorn.

"I never said you're disabled, I was only worrying that you might overworked and stress yourself too much –" James' fingers were itching to gripped on his hair. He needs something to distract himself from making himself bald.

"So, you think I'm stupid enough to not know when to stop working? That I'm being selfish and putting my baby at risk?."

"Lily. You're putting words into my mouth –"

"No, I don't. Because they were practically from your mouth! You just worded it differently."

"Oh-kay . . ." Another voice chimed in as both Lily and James turn their head in sync, "I think we all should relax and take a coffee to wake ourselves up. A morning coffee fixes everything."

"Always the peacemaker, Moony." Sirius teased as he put a mouthful of popcorn into his mouth, "How dare you interrupt my favorite morning drama." He went on as Remus took a sit beside him.

Lily grumbled as she tried not to roll her eyes on her husband's accusing stare, "I told you we can have some house-elves with us, we could afford having them y'now." James scolded.

"How many times must I have to tell you I'm not comfortable having house-elves‽," Lily hissed whilst pulling out a chair, she was getting tired of standing for too long.

As James was about to answer his retort, they heard some screeching on the window. James immediately went to Lily's side, his wand was already pointed at the window. Remus and Sirius was also in a defensive stance.

Remus was the one brave enough to go near the window, with a fearful frown on his face, he bravely swish the thin curtain aside and expected for the worst. Remus slowly cracked his eyes open – he wasn't even aware of closing them – when he heard relieved sigh coming from behind him. It turns out that it was merely a owl trying to get in.

Remus groaned when he saw the owl had a royal blue string on its feet along with a letter, "That's either a summon for James or for you, Moony." Lily muttered and offered a bread for the owl as she was intending to coax it to give her the letter.

"It's both." James confirmed as he read the letter, adjusting his glasses a few times whilst doing so, Sirius – whose neck was stretch in funny angle as he attempt to peak on the letter – rolled his eyes.

"Why're they still giving you work when you have a pregnant wife at home with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named lurking in the corners? Seriously, Fudge is a selfish bastard." Sirius complained as if he was the one who's being call for work.

"And you just realized that now?." James whispered back and sent Lily a sad smile, "It's okay James, I can manage a few hours without you hovering around me."

"But he can't." says Sirius.

"They're asking Moony to register for his lycanthropy, again," Lily hissed as she pour herself a glass of water, "Seriously, I don't understand why they keeps insisting that you should register, Moony, it's like asking someone to register for being a human."

"Nonetheless, I'm still required to go." Remus sigh as he finished his food and went upstairs to change, "I'll go with him," Sirius said with determination as he followed his friend upstairs.

"Lily, are you sure you're all right being alone here? I could owl Scrimgeuor and make up with some excuses, nothing I haven't done before." James said worriedly, his hands was already on top of Lily's stomach, rubbing it gently.

"Mhm," Lily nodded as she leaned on the comforting touch, "I'll be alright. I'm sure Peter will arrive shortly, I won't be alone then."

"Alert me immediately if something happens, do you hear me?." His stern voice gave her the urge to roll her eyes at him again but she refrain, she knows that her husband meant well.

"Yes, now go, your face irritate me."

"Peter?." Lily asked softly as she noticed that Peter wasn't blinking for a long time, just staring down at her stomach. And that really made her feel so self-conscious, she didn't realized she have her right hand rubbing it protectively.

"I'm sorry . . ." Peter awkwardly whispered and finally averted his eyes aware from here, "I'm still amazed that you're carrying a baby." he admitted and nervously scratch his nape.

"It's okay, I sometimes too, y'know." Lily offhandedly shrugged as she stirred her tea.

"Where were you last night? Sirius said you were out." Lily casually asked as she failed to noticed Peter's nervous scratching on his chin, "I just had a walk – thinking about some things." he offered, internally grimacing as he knew how vague and suspicious he sounded.

"Are you okay – do you want to talk about it?." Lily's worried eyes made his stomach churned, his palm sweating furiously, "I . . . there's nothing to talk about, really." he unconsciously bit his lip and immediately regretted as she continues to look at him with a knowing look.

"You see Lily . . . I was thinking about the – the – the future." he suddenly wondered if Lily would mind if he banged his head on the table for his stammering.

She looked at him weirdly as she repeated his words. "Future?."

Peter had no choice but to nod, "I – uh . . . Yeah, the future . . ." he cleared his throat and rubbed his thighs furiously, as if he was believing that the harder he rubbed, the faster he could get away from this conversation, "You and James are already starting your family and . . . He also have a stable job being and Auror – Remus is applying to be a professor for Arithmancy . . . I'm sure he'll get that job, he'd always been the smartest – Sirius is planning a vacation, I mean atleast he knows what he wants to do."

Her stern gaze soften as she saw the sincerity on Peter's eyes, I had no idea he feel this, She sadly thought.

She knew how Peter was treated in their little group. He was always treated like the side-kick and people often forgot that he was also a member of a Marauders. Of course he would feel left out when the others' is starting a new phase in their lives.

"Whilst, I'm still the same. I feel like I'll be left out and I don't know what I want and I . . . y'know." he waved his hands as he was out of words.

"Oh, I understand you, Peter." Lily put down her cup gently as she studied him once more, "It's completely normal to feel that way." she whispered as once again Peter found himself avoiding her eyes.

"No one is rushing you in anything y'know. So what if your friends is settling down? It doesn't mean you should too. You should live your life however you want to." She sipped from the cup again, "And also –" She didn't managed to continue or to even put down the cup resulting it to broke into pieces on the floor as a sharp pain on her stomach startled her.

"Lily? Are you okay?." Peter was already on his feet, ready to help and ease her discomfort.

"Pain," Lily choked out as another wave of pain engulfed him.

"Pain‽ - where‽," Lily was tempted to snap at him for asking dumb question at this moment but she was too distracted by the sharp painful contractions she's having.

"Hospital . . . Baby's coming!."

She heard him stammer as he cast spells after spells, she could feel her body float from the ground. Merlin knows how Peter is too scared to carry her, fearing that he might hurt her or her child, though she don't understand about an odd spell that entered her body from her mouth, she tried to wait for the effect to take place but her eyes keeps urging her to sleep.

She concluded that maybe that was a pain-reliever as the pain lessen, she hope that she'll remember to ask what kind of spell was that later, it worked fast.

A blinding light was the last thing she remembers seeing before darkness engulfed her, as she accepted it with open arms.

July 31st

A remarkable date for Severus Snape.

Today he got owled by one of his most despised person that his most favorite person had already gave birth. The news immediately made his mind go spiral, his mind was practically a mess as whistle of alarms flooding his usually rational brain.

He was surprised and, at the same time, worried for his friend. Lily was merely seven months pregnant, she still have two months more – So, naturally he rushed to aid her, making sure that she was well and alive.

It took a while before he finally arrived on the Hospital where Lily gave birth as it was in the muggle world. He had to use his magic to track her down, which wasn't a hassle to do – the things that had slowed him down was those death traps with wheels that keep producing a irritating sounds whenever he run infront of them.

He wondered if those things were alive or was just sensitive with his presence and magic.

When he finally arrived at his destination, he asked the muggle sitting on a desk that has receptionist on top of the desk what room Lily Evans in, only to be answered that there was no patient named Lily Evans admitted there and only Lily Potter. So, he had no choice but to corrected himself – not before glaring at her.

He didn't bother thanking her when he finally got the room number and sped towards the stairs. But those damn stairs had immediately worn him out which had baffled him, what's the difference between this muggle stairs and the stairs in their world?.

And at last, on the fifth floor, he finally arrived at the room 731 as he paused and admire Lily's sleeping form. He took a deep breathe as he continues to merely stand outside, still collecting enough courage to meet Lily's child.

Everything is so complicated, he doesn't even know what to fix first – or could it even still be fixed in the first place.

When he heard Lily suddenly went to labor, he felt like something in his lungs prevent air to come in as his brain refused to believe the news making him feel lightheaded – as if he was being pulled down deeper and deeper into the deepest part of the ocean.

Severus doesn't believe in coincidence, he firmly believe everything happens for a reason. He knew there's a reason why Lily gave birth two months earlier from her due date as it merely add to the fact that she birthed at the last day of the seventh month.

She suddenly gave birth at the last day of July.

Everything made sense if someone ask him.

Severus knew that there's a very high possiblity that Lily's child would be the ‹chosen one›. The child that would free the wizarding world from Voldemort's grasp – the child that would cause the dark lord's downfall.

The chosen one is the child of by none other than his greatest love – the moment that child arrive in this world and lived, had put Lily's life into stake. And he doesn't know what to do or think about that fact.

No matter how much he tried to hate the kid – which shouldn't be hard considering that it's Potter's spawn we're talking about – he just couldn't. He knew rationally that – that child is innocent, and didn't deserve any hatred from him or anyone in general. That child didn't asked to be born early than intended, it didn't even asked to be made nor exist in the first place.

He gritted his teeth and shut his eyes tightly, he hate himself for even trying to hate an innocent, one-day-old, babe. But he couldn't help it, he was livid – but he doesn't have anyone to focus his rage into. He couldn't blame anyone or anything, but fate and that damn prophecy.

Perhaps he should blame Professor Trelawney for her predictions.

"Severus, you've been standing there long enough that if there was any house-elves here, they might mistaken you for a statue and use a brush to dust you off."

Severus abruptly looked up, startled. For an outsider, Snape looked composed like he usually do, but Lily knew him well enough that he was startled – judging by the slight widening of his onyx eyes.

"Hn." Snape grunted as he proceeds to enter the room, discreetly observing the dim, wrapped room – the room made him feel a bit claustrophobic.

As Snape was nearing the redhead woman laying on the bed, he couldn't help but to frown as he noticed that her eyes were red and puffy, indicating she had been crying.

He tried to think rational and think of possible reason, if he was thinking optimistically, then he would assume that the cause for her swollen eyes were tears of joy but if he would be his usual self and be a pessimist, then that swollen pair of green eyes must've been caused of a bad news.

He desperately hope it wasn't the latter.

But alas, he was losing hope, second after second as he discreetly searched for any babe present near Lily or any baby present in the room, but there was none.

"Lily . . ." Snape's heart ached for his friend.

He take back any spiteful feelings he harbor for the child as he grieve for the possible lose of his friend.

"I almost lost them." She whispered so softly as Severus almost didn't heard her.

Almost. Snape mentally counted to three, calming himself he broke down into tears in relief. The child survive – Did Lily juy said Them?.

"Did your son survived?." Snape mentally cringed on how hopeful and desperate he sounded.

Lily broke them by his questions as she nodded slightly, "Yes. Yes they did."

"Twins?." Snape felt lightheaded as he was graced again by an affirmative nod from the redhead.

"They were so tiny – they almost didn't survived!." She wailed as tears furiously coming out from her eyes.

Snape acted out of instinct, because there's no other explanation why he suddenly engulfed Lily in his arms whilst stroking her hair soothingly. "Eveything's alright, Lily. Your sons is safe and alive." he kept repeating like a mantra, as he didn't paid attention with how uncomfortable position he was in as his arms and legs was starting to complain and numb.

"The Doctor said they should be put in a incubator for the time being because of their low birth weight and, it didn't add to the fact of irregular temperature. They said that the incubator helps control their temperature." Lily explained with one breathe, as if he was telling him an unfortunate news and someone had died.

"I'm sure they'll turn out to be healthy." Severus continue to try comforting her.

"You really thinks so?."

"I know so." Severus gave her his rare genuine smile as that seem to do the trick as Lily nodded meekly whilst sniffing loudly. Snape tried to hide his grimace by turning his back on her for a tissue.

"I'm sorry you had to see that." Lily apologize and blow quietly on the tissue, she chuckled when she noticed that Severus looked disgusted, "I just can't forget how the doctor struggle to make my youngest baby cried – we all thought he didn't survive and . . . and." Snape shook his head, indicating she had said enough.

"Eventually, he cried and I thought I could've fainted right there. His cries was the most beautiful sound I've ever heard," She said, her green eyes were twinkling with so much love and adoration, Snape couldn't help but to tucked some strand of hair away from her face.

"He was smaller than his brother which is probably why we haven't caught sight of him in the ultrasounds during my check-ups." She chuckled as she continues to rant about her experience – most of it were traumatizing Severus but not once did he complained.

"And he also have my green eyes, James couldn't stop staring at them. The nurse had a hard time taking him from James and Sirius." Severus hummed in interest, he couldn't wait to compare the similarities between Lily's eyes and her youngest's eyes but he doubt if they'll be as beautiful as hers, nothing could beat the redhead witches eyes in his humble opinion.

"Atleast we know who'll he favor more." Severus said and reluctantly let her go when he felt her pulling back from their embrace.

"You've mention Potter and Black was here with you, which explains the calmness and peacefulness of the room and I'm grateful for their absence, however, I couldn't help but to wonder where they are?." Snape inquired with his deep voice and leaned back on his chair, discreetly stretching his abused arms and legs.

"They went to buy some clothes for the babies. We were – They were panicking so much they lost the bag." Lily explained as she chuckled softly when she heard Severus snorted and smirking.

"A bunch of dunderhead they are."

Lily broke into a fit of laughter with Severus' statement, but he immediately scolded her for laughing too much as she might opened her cut with laughing so much. As they were engulfed by a comfortable silence, Lily decided to talk once more.

"Can you do me a favor?."

"Anything." Severus answered without missing a beat or any hesitation.

"I'd like to ask if you would want to be a godfather to one of my sons." She whispered timidly as her eyes darted anywhere but Severus's as if she was scared of his reaction and answer.

Snape managed to snap out from his shock. "You want me to be a godfather for one of your sons? I don't think Potter would approve of this."

"James can't do anything about it. They're my sons too, y'know. And actually, he already agreed." after a lot of arguments and blackmailing, She smile at the perplexed expression on her friend's face,

"And, uhm – you get to choose who you want to be your godson, I know I'm asking too much from you – asking to be a second father to James Potter's spawn . . . Considering, you're already a godfather for the Malfoy Heir. However, I just know that they'll be in good hands with you as their godfather, I know you'll protect them with your life."

"I don't have to be their godfather for me to protect them. Godson or not, I will still try protect them from anything." Severus' statement brought a grateful expression to the redhead's face.

"But I accept. I want to be the godfather of your youngest's son." Severus was relieved that Lily didn't ask why he particular choose the child who was said to inherited her eyes.

That smile that was printed on Lily's face will forever by imprinted in Severus's mind, no doubt that he will visit this particular memory frequently in the future.

July 31st

A very significant day for Lord Voldemort.

At first he wasn't even aware of it.

He heard from someone from his servants that another disgrace of a half-blood had graced the wizarding world. So, of course, it was his job as a Lord to get rid of the nuisance.

Usually, he would asked someone to do the job but it was the last day of the month. And there's a high possiblity that the newborn baby is the one. The baby who was said to destroy him.

He waited.

He waited for his servant to arrive and report him about the half-bloods. Yes, as it turns out they were twins, he waited for three days until the babies was on their crib in the midnight before he went to attack.

He waited until he was sure that he would be alone with the half-bloods so he could kill them as quickly as he wanted – it's not like he doesn't also want to kill their mudblood mother but he is outside the wizarding world, and he doesn't want to notify the other muggles with his magic as that would only lead them on investigating – he would killed anyone who try to inform those mudblood about magic.

"Precious little things – such pretty faces too. Shame." Voldemort cooed as he looked down at those two doe eyes looking up, their small chubby arms trying to reach the ceilings.

"Both of you didn't ask to have a mudblood mother, both of you didn't ask to have a tainted blood . . . If you two were given a chance to grow up into this world - you'd be treated as an outcast. Being called a freak by muggles for your magic and being hated by wizards and witches for your blood, I am merely trying to prevent that." he sympathize half-bloods, he really do, he knew how they would suffer in the future. That's why he's putting an end to their life before the suffering could even start.

Voldemort broke an hole into the room, as he marched towards the crib. His wand has a bright green light on the tip, Hm, which one, he hesitated as he settle for the baby on the left, "Avada Kedavra!." he exclaimed as a green light shoot from his wand.

His narrowed eyes widen as big as they could as the curse bounce from the child and to the other and finally back to him, Is he the one‽, Voldemort didn't have enough time to dodge before his own curse killed him.

As Voldemort lay on the cold floor, he could feel his soul leaving his body with every pant he take. The more he tried to use his energy is the more he near his end.

It's over, this is how he's going to die.

He tried again, but this time he tried the other baby – he collected every magic he have left to his wand as he aimed to the other boy. He was frozen in shock as he watched the other infant absorb his attack.

Absorbe.

Voldemort could only blink as his stone heart beat for the last time, he was not someone who regret their past actions. Who would mourn in guilt or drown in self-hatred whenever they did something they consider wrong or fail, he would work harder and make sure not to repeat his past mistakes. And that earned him immeasurable power, that gave him whatever he has now. He would never regret the path he took.

But right now, he do harbor some regrets. One single regret of not having his heir in his arms before he died. He regret not meeting him atleast once.

However, the Dark Lord still died with a smile on his face as he knew that someday he would meet him and he certainly look forward to that day to come.
