It was the very next day that Detective Jake Peralta and Sergeant Amy Santiago are back at the crime scene, getting ready to go into the Brooklyn sewers to find the creature that attacked the Brooklyn victims. They are both armed with walkie-talkies, flashlights and their guns and began to go into the sewers via the manhole cover.
The night before, Jake decided to get in touch with his friend Doug Judy aka the Pontiac Bandit and find out when did he heard about this monster and if he can identify the two individuals that were seen in the surveillance footage. He had no idea where or when he heard about this monster nor he couldn't identify the two individuals but he told Jake something that made him puzzled.
Apparently, Doug Judy had heard rumors that there may have been wizards in New York and that there is a family of wizards living here in New York City. He heard the rumors at this sandwich shop called the 'Waverly Sub Station' which is in Manhattan. Jake couldn't know what he is talking about but he remembered it when he got into bed last night.
At the scene, Jake is wearing a red-checkered collared shirt with grey jeans and a NYPD-issued jacket along with waterproof shoes while Amy is still dressed in her Sergeant uniform. They were both armed with walkie-talkies, flashlights and their NYPD standard-issued Glock handguns. They were also given a copy of the Brooklyn sewer maps from Sergeant Jeffords.
As they descend via the ladder, they walked on the muddy water and began to search for the monster using the flashlights, but they were also using the sewer maps. But it is not only Amy and Jake that are in the sewers, Detective Rosa Diaz along with Detectives Charles Boyle, Michael Hitchcock and Norm Scully along with Sergeant Jeffords and Captain Holt are also in the sewers looking for the monster, they however entered the sewers via a manhole at Prospect Park.
But Jake and Amy were also not alone, the two individuals that were seen in the surveillance footage yesterday are also there and they were searching for the monster too. They were Alex Russo and Justin Russo who are wizards but also monster hunters.
Jake and Amy were both walking in the sewers for about three hours and Jake sees that Amy is becoming very terrified of the surroundings, so he has decided to tell her what he has found out from Doug Judy yesterday.
"So Amy, you are not going to believe what I have found out from Doug Judy yesterday?" Jake said to Amy as they walk through the sewers together.
"Really, what did he tell you?" Amy replied.
"Well, first of all we talked about our life and also what had we been doing for the past several days or months and that he did not recognize the two individuals." Jake said. "Then he told me that he heard a rumor about wizards existing here in New York City and that there is a family of wizards living here in New York. He told me that he heard it at this place called the 'Waverly Sub Station' which is in Manhattan."
"Did you confirm his story?" Amy asked as they walked.
"Well yeah, I did a check on the internet before we left the precinct." Jake said. "I found out that it is a sandwich shop in Manhattan and that it is located at Waverly Place in Greenwich Village."
"Peralta, Amy, are you two there?" Detective Rosa Diaz spoke through the walkie-talkie on Jake's belt.
Jake takes his walkie-talkie from his belt and responds. "Yeah, we're here. What's up?"
"What is the status of your search?" Detective Diaz asked Jake through the walkie-talkie.
"Well, we have been searching this area for the past three hours and so far, we have found nothing." Jake replied on his walkie-talkie.
"Same here too, we've been searching for three hours and it is very distracting." Rosa replied on her walkie-talkie. "Only because Hitchcock and Scully are wearing masks while the rest of us are not, since we are comfortable with the smell."
"Well, I hate to say this, but you are right." Scully said, wearing his mask. "We kind of feeling very stuffy when we are breathing in this mask for three hours."
"You two idiots realize that you made the only mistake yesterday?" Rosa replied to them.
"Yeah, and it seems that we need to take this thing off like right now." Hitchcock said, and he and Scully both take off their masks and placed them on their belts while gasping for air.
"Also, Boyle got scared seeing a rat in the sewer and had to leap onto Terry's shoulder many times." Rosa said on her walkie-talkie.
"Yeah, Terry cannot take any weight and it kinda hurts my back." Sergeant Terry Jeffords replied.
"Okay, we will try and rendezvous at the center of the sewers, over." Jake said over his walkie-talkie.
"Over." Rosa replied on her walkie-talkie.
Jake puts his walkie-talkie back onto his belt and he along with Amy continued walking through the sewers, searching for the creature while making their way to the rendezvous point indicated in the sewer map.
It was at that time, Alex and her brother, Justin are still searching for the monster. It has slipped away from them yesterday but Justin is confident that this time it will be caught. In fact, Alex is wearing a simple red-velvet shirt with black jeans and black boots while Justin is wearing his PopCon Costume.
"Justin, we have been searching this sewer for FIVE HOURS!" Alex exclaimed to Justin. "Are you sure you are confident that you can find it today?"
"I am confident!" Justin replied and he later saw the creature, napping.
"Looks like I am confident after all." Justin said, whispering.
"Okay, let me try this time." Alex whispered, taking out her wand.
But before she could cast a spell, Alex and Justin saw lights in the distance and saw the creature waking up and leaving. The two of them quickly hid in the corner and were surprised at what they saw.
Alex and Justin saw a man who is Jake Peralta and a woman who is Amy Santiago holding flashlights and they made a startling discovery. Justin saw that the man is wearing a police badge while the woman is wearing a police uniform and he recognized them as cops with the NYPD.
"Should I cast a spell on these guys? They somehow scared the creature which ruined your chance." Alex asked Justin, taking out her wand.
"Alex, no! You don't remember Professor Crumbs' test: we can't expose magic in front of people, especially cops." Justin replied.
"Oh, shoot!" Justin whispered, when he sees Jake pointing his flashlight near him. "Alex, turn invisible now!"
Both Alex and Justin cast spells on their wands which turned themselves invisible and Jake didn't see the two and both he and Amy left and continued walking, which resulted in Alex and Justin making themselves reappear and Justin breathing a sigh of relief.
"So Amy, have you spoken to your mom yesterday?" Jake asked Amy, which distracts her from being terrified of the surroundings.
"Yep, I did. I told her about what you and I are going to get for my brother's birthday party next week." Amy said. "You don't remember what we agreed to buy, right?"
"Oh, yeah. Now I remember." Jake said, in which he remembered. "A State-of-The-Art Military Notebook-Laptop from HP, equipped with a fingerprint reader and a satellite phone which I found on eBay which costs five-hundred dollars."
"So, have you spoken to your sister since her visit to New York?" Amy asked.
"Oh, I spoke to her two days ago. She told me that she recently had her apartment renovated thanks to fifty-thousand-dollar cash prize she won on some radio contest." Jake said. "She told me that she is trying out to be a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys and she is undergoing auditions next we- "
The conversation was interrupted when Jake hears breathing in which he think it's Amy.
"Okay Amy, that is not funny." Jake said.
"That wasn't me, Jake." Amy replied.
"If it's not you, then who is it?" Jake asked Amy.
"Hey guys, are you there?" Rosa asked over Jake's walkie-talkie.
"Yeah, we're here." Jake replied after he took out his walkie-talkie from his belt.
"Listen, we went into some trouble as me and Charles' flashlight's batteries ran out. We may be coming slightly late as we are changing the batteries." Rosa replied on her radio. "We are very lucky that we brought along some spares."
While Jake talked to Rosa on his walkie-talkie about the conversation earlier, Amy sees a shadow behind moving forward. She turns around and became frightened at what she saw and started tapping Jake's back frantically.
"Umm…Jake. Jake!" Amy said, frantically and terrified.
"Hang on, one sec." Jake said over his walkie-talkie.
"Amy, not now. I'm talking to Rosa here." Jake said and he went back to talking to Rosa on his walkie-talkie.
"You-You-You really need to see this!" Amy said, frantically tapping his back repeatedly.
"Okay, what is wrong with you babe?" Jake asked as he turned around.
"I am currently talking to Rosa and I do not know why you…are…trying…to…oh…my…god…" Jake slowly said as turns around and sees what Amy saw.
It was the creature that was seen in the surveillance footage and it is now much bigger. He was in an absolute state of shock as he dropped his walkie-talkie to the ground.
"Peralta, Amy?" Rosa called over the walkie-talkie. "Hello? You guys? Are you there? Can you hear me, over?"
Jake panicked as he took out his Glock and started shooting at the creature. It however picks the bullets out of his body which makes him very frightened and shocked. He has no idea how it can survive that many gunshots and it makes the creature very angry in which he hissed.
"JAKE!" Amy shouted
"Amy! What is it?!" Jake replied terrified as the creature hissed and moved closer.
"I don't know what to say, but I think we should…RUN FOR OUR LIVES?!" Amy replied as she got terrified more.
"Actually, yes." Jake replied in which he shouted. "WE'VE GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE LIKE RIGHT NOW!"
Both Jake and Amy ran for their lives with the creature chasing after them. Alex and Justin saw what happened and Alex decides on a solution.
"I should cast my spell on the creature so that it wouldn't hurt those two." Alex replied.
"ALEX! We can't expose magic in public, remember?" Justin replied in which Alex ignored and went after the creature.
Justin hesitated, and he too went after the creature.
"GUYS? HELLO?" Rosa said over her walkie-talkie, as she tried to get Jake's response but gets static instead.
She realizes that something must have happened to them and immediately informed the rest.
"Guys, we have a problem!" Rosa replied as soon as she approached the team. "Something has happened to both Jake and Amy, I can't reach them."
"Give me the walkie-talkie." Captain Holt said and Rosa passed him the walkie-talkie and tried to reach them. "Peralta, Santiago, are you there? Please come in, over?" But all he hears was static.
"Boyle, do you happen to have their last position?" Captain Holt asked Detective Charles Boyle and he took out his smartphone and opened an app which tracks the walkie-talkie's last known position in the sewer.
What Jake and Amy don't know is that Boyle placed a tracker on Jake's walkie-talkie which works underground and he has an app that can do that. "I got their location!" Charles replied, showing the walkie talkie's last position in the sewer.
"Great work, Boyle." Sergeant Jeffords replied. "Come on, we've got to help them!" He said as they went to the last location of Jake and Amy.
But when they arrived, they found Jake's walkie-talkie but no sign of Jake and Amy.
"MY GOD!" Captain Holt remarked. "PERALTA! SANTIAGO! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU TWO?!" He shouted but both Jake and Amy we're still running for their lives with the creature chasing them but Alex and Justin Russo following them.
