(A/N) Timeline wise, the first few chapters take place before Warriors : Variants.
Web of Reality
The team, the Guardians of Reality, the Warriors of the Multiverse, call them whatever you will, they were going up against something new. Something isn't right in reality. Something else that has escaped through the cracks that were left from Battleworld.
A monster of darkness. A creature made out of fear. A man who thrives off of the fear and darkness of others.
Pitch Black.
"We don't know how to deal with someone like this." Alice admits to the others as they saw the events yet to come.
"Come on! He's just another bad guy of the year." Kyle scoffs. "We can take him."
"Madame Web, what do you think?" Chris asks the main leader.
Madame Web was silent the whole meeting, running scenarios in her head on what to do and who is best fit to fight this guy.
"If we want to fight someone with the powers of darkness and fear, we need to fight him with light and hope." Madame Web states to them.
"Ha! Like anyone in this room is a good fit for those descriptions." Emily scoffs and notices the questionable looks around the room. "Oh, come on! Half of us tried to destroy the universe, half of us failed to save the universe, tell me I'm wrong."
"She's out of line, but she's right." Eli confesses.
"You already have a perfect candidate for this, don't you?" Specter could easily tell by the look on Web's face.
"I have." Madame Web says with a smile. "And a bit of a warning...They're a strange bunch."
A small village was going about their day when suddenly ice and snow began to form around them as if there was some invisible source as the entire village was succumbing to a sudden snow day.
"The first candidate is named Jack Frost. Sure, he might be a bit...off. Being a teenage hellion who has no interest in being bound by rules or obligations, and rather instead favors just spreading his winter magic for the sake of the personal amusement of himself and children." Madame Web described the first recruit to the rest of them.
"Winter magic?" Kyle asks in confusion.
"He's the Spirit of Winter on his Earth." Madame Web explains.
"Just say that next time." Kyle stated. "Even though that makes no sense."
Jack Frost was messing around with the villages, creating a snow day, and freezing everything while having a laugh in doing so.
Jack has white hair, striking blue eyes, and pale skin. He has a tall stature, albeit slim. His clothing is a blue hooded sweater, frost collecting around the ring of his collar, and is wearing the same trousers bound with lighter material starting from the knee down to the rather tattered and frayed bottom and is barefoot.
He carries a magic staff with which he can control the elements of winter which came from a willow that stood on the ancient burial grounds of Mohican Indians.
"Oh! Now that was fun!" Jack states with a smile on his face as he leaps up and hangs off of the tallest building as the wind begins to pick up. "Hey, wind! Take me home!"
The wind then finally picks up enough that Jack is lifted into the air and sent flying into the air high above the clouds. Jack goes flying and lands on another island where all the people have already called it in for the night.
Jack enjoys the peace and quiet when he felt a gust of wind pass him with a glowing red feature. Fearing what it could be, even though there was an unlikely chance it could hurt him, he followed the wind and was led to a clearing in the middle of the woods.
"So, you're the one who's been nibbling at my nose all this time." A voice says causing Jack to raise his staff in defense and turns to face Kyle in his Speedster uniform. "Gotta say, that's always creeped me out."
That comment caused Jack to look in shock as this is the first time someone has acknowledged his existence. "You can see me?"
"I'm one of the few who can." Kyle states. "And we have a proposition for you, Jack."
"What kind of proposition would that be?" Jack wonders as he leans against his staff.
"It'll make sense in time." Kyle promises him. "Alice?"
Suddenly, Jack sees he is placed in a sack which was made out of universal energy and Alice opens a portal using her powers.
"You coming?" Alice asks Kyle.
"Nah, I'll meet you back at the Web." Kyle says as he speeds off in a flash of light.
"Suit yourself." Alice guesses and leaps into the portal with the Spirit of Winter struggling to get free.
"This one is a little familiar to you since one of her counterparts is dating the Dragon Rider on Earth-532." Madame Web says.
In a tower hidden from the world, an extremely long blonde haired girl wearing a pink dress and no shoes named Rapunzel is looking for her chameleon friend Pascal.
"Throughout her adolescence, Rapunzel has dreamed of escaping her tower to experience the outside world. But due to the strict order of her fake mother, Gothel, she remained inside the tower." Madame Web continues to explain.
"Sounds to me like quarantine." Alice jokes.
"The use of manipulation and emotional abuse in her upbringing by Gothel has led Rapunzel to believe that the world is highly dangerous, and that remaining in the confines of her sheltered walls is in her best interest." Madame Web continues as she ignores Alice's comment. "But in reality, she hides Rapunzel from the world because of her unique gift. She can use her extremely long hair to grasp and manipulate objects and people with precise accuracy. She has had a lot of practice over the years, and can also use her hair to heal both minor and fatal wounds, and reverse aging to a certain degree."
"So how do we get her on our side?" Emily wonders.
"I have an idea..." Eli promised them.
Rapunzel was looking for Pascal for some time now and she has already checked the cupboards, the selves, and her bedroom. They've been playing hide-and-seek twenty one times now and are now familiar with each other's hiding spots. It's boring sure, but what else are you supposed to do in a one room tower?
She heard him chuckle outside the window and rushes to the window and opens it fast. She can see her scaly little friend at the corner of the strawberry pot, even with his skin matching the pot.
"Well, I guess if Pascal isn't here..." She played in an unsure melody as she readies her hair. As soon as she hears a chuckle, she whips her hair and grabs him by the tail and yanks him upward upside down. "Got ya!"
Pascal screamed in surprise as he changed his skin back to green.
Rapunzel giggles as she lowers him down to her window balcony. "So that's twenty two for me, how about twenty three out of forty five?" Pascal gave her a look of boredom. Obvious, he was done with the game.
"Okay, what do you want to do then?" Pascal simply pointed to the ground outside. "Yea, I don't think so." She said really cheerful, though nothing would make her happier then to touch the ground.
She's been stuck at the top of a tall tower all her life, with only one window and no doors. She looks down at the ground and wonders what the touch of grass feels like, but then remembers why she must stay.
"It's not so bad in there." She turns to Pascal and lifts him in her hand. "Besides maybe soon I can go."
Soon it will be her birthday, another year older. In the stories she's read, most girls would wish for a prince, a castle, or horse to ride on towards the sunset.
For Rapunzel, her biggest wish is to see the lights that shine in the night, only on her birthday. She knows those lights must mean something but wants to see them up close to out why. But she is stopped every time by her mother.
Rapunzel knows her mother wants what's best for her and wants to protect her. But she feels that it's time for her to explore the world instead of reading about it.
She looks around her room, looking at all the pictures she drew on the walls. Most are scenes from her favorite stories, or just the outside woods and sunsets. But her prized one was her looking from a cliff's edge and seeing the lights in the distance. "Maybe soon, my life will begin," she said to herself with a half a smile.
"Rapunzel!"
A woman's cry came from outside the tower. Rapunzel recognize her mother's voice. It was now or never to ask her. She puts Pascal down on a small table and readies her hair. "Oh Kay." She said under her breath. "I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna ask her."
Pascal puffs up his chest, telling her to be brave before he disappears into the environment.
"Rapunzel!"
Rapunzel takes a big breath, and she goes to the window. She looks down to see her mother in her usual red dress and black cape. Rapunzel grabbed a big chunk of her hair and puts it on a hook. She lets it fall to the ground, and her mother.
"Rapunzel, I'm not getting any younger." Her mother said with a hint of mocking. Soon the hair reaches her, she holds on to it and makes a hook for her foot. When she was all set, Rapunzel pulls her up.
Her mother was pretty heavy, but Rapunzel is used to her weight and thanks to a hook on the windowsill, there's not too much stress on her head. As soon as her mom is up and enters the room, Rapunzel gives her a big hug, "welcome home mother."
Gothel returns the hug, "Thank you darling, you must be exhausting after that, I know I am." She said with a hint of mockery.
Rapunzel giggles a bit, trying not to take in that little tease. Gothel walks to put her cloak on a hook, and then looks in a nearby mirror. "Rapunzel come here." She said reaching for her daughter. When she grabbed her, Gothel pulls her in to a half hug. "Do you know what I see dear?"
Rapunzel thought long and hard, but just sees the two of them in the mirror.
"I see a strong, young, confident young woman." Gothel said with pride. Rapunzel sigh at her mother's words.
"Oh, look you're here too." Gothel joked. Rapunzel tries not to take it too hard, but some days are hard.
Upon seeing her daughter almost upset, Gothel quickly changed her manor. "You know I'm only joking sweetie," she said pinching Rapunzel's cheek. "You're a dear."
She then goes and takes a seat on a comfy chair, while Rapunzel knees before her with a smile on her face.
"Could you sing for me?" her mother asks as she grabs a nice brush.
They do this every time they get together. Her mom brushes her hair as she sings and old melody. The song causes her hair to glow a golden yellow. The power of it is mysterious and wondrous.
Not only will it heal cuts or bruises, but it will even make old age disappear. As she sings her mother's wrinkles and grey hair disappear into beautiful skin and long, silky, curly black hair. After the hair stopped glowing, her mother looked at her with a warm smile, but she notices Rapunzel's smile was bigger than hers.
"Aright, you're excited by something. What is it?" she asks.
"Well," Rapunzel respond nervously, "I'm just excited, in a few days it'll be my birthday. "
Gothel puts her hand on her forehead and shock her head, "No, no, no, it can't be. I distinctly remember your birthday was last year. "
"Well, that's thing about birthdays, they're kind of an annual thing." Rapunzel said with a half-smile. "Anyway, the thing I really want for my birthday is...well...What I ask every year...and well..."
Gothel got up and lean to Rapunzel, "Please stop with the mumbling, you know I don't like it. blah, blah, blah, it gets annoying." Realizing her tone was turning harsh, she puts on a pleasant face. "You know I'm only kidding, come on tell me darling. "
"Well," Rapunzel said as she took a deep breath, "I want to see the lights this year."
Gothel look at her with a puzzle look, "what?"
Rapunzel took another deep breath as she points to a painting on her wall of the lights. "I want to see the lights. "
Gothel looks at the painting then at her. Then laughs it off as she goes to the window. "You mean the stars, right?"
"That's the thing." Rapunzel says and opens a window to reveal a painting of stars. "I've charted stars, and they're always constant. But these, they appear every year on my birthday, mother. Only on my birthday. And I can't help but feel like they're meant for me. I need to see them, mother. And not just from my window, in person. I have to know what they are."
Gothel just strolls over to the big window with a smile on her face. "You want to go outside? Rapunzel..." she closes the window and spins Rapunzel around. "Look at you, as fragile as a flower. Still a little sapling, just a sprout. You know why we stay up in this tower."
"I know, but..." Rapunzel tries to continue, but Gothel continues to sing.
"That's right, to keep you safe and sound, dear." She sings and draws her hands through her hair. "Guess I always knew this day was coming." She's started to go around and closing all the windows. "Knew that soon you'd want to leave the nest." She starts climbing up the stairs and Rapunzel follows her around. "Soon, but not yet."
"But-"
"Shh! Trust me, pet. Mother knows best." Gothel promises and closes the rest of the windows, cutting off all the light to the tower.
Rapunzel Lights a candle to see around.
"Mother knows best. Listen to your mother. It's a scary world out there!" Gothel says and Rapunzel shines a light on her just to be scared when her mother has a scary look on her face.
"Mother knows best." She starts yanking Rapunzel's hair and she tries to fight back but falls into a spotlight where Gothel caught her. "One way or another. Something will go wrong, I swear."
"Ruffians, thugs, poison ivy, quicksand." Gothel lists as she has hand puppets of each of them. "Cannibals and snakes. The plague." She lights up a green lantern.
"No!" Rapunzel cries.
"Yes!" Gothel says and turns off the light again as Rapunzel looks around, trying to see. "Also, large bugs." Gothel continues and uses a mop to push her to the ground where she drew a man with sharp teeth. "Men with pointy teeth and Stop! No more, you'll just upset me!"
Rapunzel hides inside her own hair lighting up a Lantern.
"Mother's right here." Gothel sings and pulls Rapunzel close. "Mother will protect you. Darling, here's what I suggest." Rapunzel goes to hug her and sees she's a manikin.
She turns to the stairs that are lightning up by candles. "Skip the drama. Stay with mama. Mama knows best." She then uses her cloak to take out the lights. "Mother knows best."
Rapunzel starts lighting the candles again whilst Gothel is putting them out again.
"Take it from your mumsy. On your own, you won't survive." Gothel says and Rapunzel appears in front of the mirror. "Sloppy, underdressed." She shows Rapunzel her feet as she doesn't wear shoes.
"Immature, clumsy. Please, they'll eat you up alive." Gothel states as Rapunzel tries hiding her feet but then is tripped up by her hairline.
"Gullible, naïve. Positively grubby. Ditzy and a bit, well, hmm vague. Plus, I believe. Gettin' kinda chubby. I'm just saying 'cause I wuv you. Mother understands. Mother's here to help you. All I have is one request." The lights come back on, and Rapunzel finds her mother and runs to hug her.
"Rapunzel?"
"Yes?"
"Don't ever ask to leave this tower again." Gothel warns her.
"Yes, Mother." Rapunzel understands.
"I love you very much, dear."
"I love you more."
"I love you most. Don't forget it. You'll regret it. Mother knows best." Gothel says.
Rapunzel and her mother spent the rest of the afternoon cooking dinner and playing a game of chess. Not once did they speak of leaving, Rapunzel's birthday, or the lights. When the sun began to set, Rapunzel sang her song one more time, and then helps her mother to the window.
As she readies her hair, Gothel gave her enough food to last to tomorrow afternoon. Within a few minutes Rapunzel was lowering her mother to the ground.
She watches as Gothel made her way to the forest near the tower. As Gothel was about to leave, she looks up at her daughter and waves her goodbye. "I'll be back tomorrow, my flower. "
Rapunzel look on and wave her mom goodbye. "I'll be here." she said with love.
As her mom disappears into the forest, Rapunzel lifts her hair up with sadness. She is certain her mom was right. If she was out there, people will only want her hair, but staying in one place didn't help her loneliness. Pascal reappears with a disappointment on his face. She knew why he looks at her like that, she didn't stand up to what her wish is. But with the protection here, why should she leave?
"I've got my mother's love; I shouldn't ask for more. I've got so many things I should be thankful for, yes, I have everything...except, I guess, a door." She looked down; trying to convince herself it was for the best. But it wasn't working. "Perhaps it's better that I stay in..."
Then all of a sudden, something fell from the ceiling and got up to reveal a metal man, more to the case, Eli Roberts. "But tell me. When will your life begin?"
Rapunzel looks at him with horror in her eyes, 'how did he get in? How did he get passed mother? What's he going to do with me?' a million questions raced through her mind. He just puts his hands out with caution.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, don't worry." Eli said as he opened his mask. "It's just a suit. I'm not going to hurt you."
She was still scared by this stranger but tries to summon her courage. "Who are you? How did you get in here? Why are you here? How-"
"This will all make sense when you wake up." Eli promised as he tossed a bunch of dust in her face that knocks her out before using his communication device. "I've got contestant number two."
"This face might be familiar to you. You've met at least three of his doppelgängers." Madame Web states.
Hiccup and Toothless are flying far above the Archipelago, no home, no family, no friends. He and Toothless had run away from Berk before his final test and have been on their own for a few years now.
They had just come flying down onto their island that they were currently calling home.
"Well, what do you say that I get us some grub, bud?" Hiccup asks as he takes off his dragon skinned helmet and went over to the fireplace before noticing that someone has already lit the fire and started making dinner.
Hiccup looks around and pulled out his sword Inferno and went over to the hut he made for himself when the door opened, and he was confused who the man was.
The man in question is Chris who was holding a plate of cooked fish.
"Hey, Hiccup, right?" Chris asks casually as Hiccup was still in a defensive mode. "No need for that. You hungry?" He asks and gestures to the food still cooking. "I even got some for your friend." He says and reveals some salmon for Toothless which he threw towards the dragon who immediately chowed it down.
"Who are you and what do you want?" Hiccup asks.
"Just wanna talk." Chris explains as he strolls over to the fire and takes a seat on a log.
"Talk about what?" Hiccup asks and deactivates the sword and approaches him.
"We need your help." Chris goes straight to the point before teleporting the two of them away. "I've sent you contestant number three and his dragon."
"And now for the queen of ice and the princess with the heart of gold." Madame Web told them of their last two.
"Great. Love those sisters." Emily admitted.
Elsa stands in the castle courtyard with villagers around her. "Are you ready?" She asks them all as the people cheer and she uses her powers to create an ice rink as everyone starts ice skating.
Anna slides over to Elsa, and she catches Anna just before she slips. "I like the open gates."
"We are never closing them again." Elsa promised her.
Elsa waves her hand form ice skates over Anna's boots, "Oh, Elsa, they're beautiful, but you know I don't skaaaaattttteeeee...!"
"Come on! You can do it!" Elsa grabs hold of Anna's hands and pulls her along on the ice, Kristoff, and Sven slide past them.
Kristoff warned them, "Look out. Reindeer coming through."
Elsa held on to Anna's hands as she tries to ice skate. Anna told her, "I got it, I got it."
Suddenly she starts to slip, "Ooh! I don't got it. I don't got it."
Olaf slides in and joins them, "Hey, guys!"
"That's it, Olaf." Elsa smiled as Olaf helps her to teach Anna to skate.
"Glide and pivot. And glide and pivot." Olaf guided Anna.
That night, they were sound asleep when they heard something break somewhere.
Elsa quickly woke up at the sudden noise and followed it to where it could've come from to meet Anna in the halls.
"Anna, what are you doing?" Elsa asks her sister.
"What, I heard a noise and was thinking it was Olaf." Anna explains when they heard Olaf giggle and calm down, thinking he accidentally knocked something over and was led to the fireplace where they saw not only Olaf, but also Emily and Noah.
"Oh, Elsa, Anna, this is Emily and Noah. They said they came here to speak with you two." Olaf said with a smile and the two sisters look afraid at what the intruders want, and they need to have a conversation about stranger danger with Olaf.
"Olaf, why don't you give us a minute?" Elsa asks of the snowman and lightly pushes him out of the room.
"Make it two." Anna said, remembering Olaf will take it literally.
"Who are you?" Elsa asks the two intruders. "What do you want?"
"Take it easy. We come in peace." Emily assures them. "We've come here because we need your help."
"Help with what?" Anna asks in confusion.
"The universe is in danger...and you're our only hope." Noah explains to the two before vanishing with the sisters.
"These children divided won't be enough...but together, they might be what we need to fight off Pitch Black and his nightmares. They will be our new team." Madame Web stated to Specter as they looked at all the chaos and destruction that will be caused if this group of enemies are not stop.
She has seen every outcome of this war, and if the Warriors are used, they will lose every time.
If the other heroes she has created throughout reality are taken from their worlds, their realities will be destroyed from their villains.
These kids are their biggest hope to save the world, and more from the nightmares of the Dark Dimension.
Let's just hope they're ready to work together.
If they're not...everything ends.
