Yelena knew something was wrong when her last message to Kate sat unread for fifteen minutes and counting. Unable to concentrate on her current job, she sighed and gave up.

Heading to the apartment she shared with Kate, she felt her body go rigid at the sight on the roof of their building. Kate was tied to a chair in front of a target board, a large man in front of her holding a knife close to her ear.

Yelena swore to herself that if one of them touched Kate, they would regret it. Making her way across the rooftop, Yelena crouched low and planned her attack. Starting with the two men closest to her, she knocked them both out, slamming them hard into the concrete floor.

Running up to the man in front of Kate, he held the knife closer to Kate, daring her to attack. Raising an eyebrow, she quickly pulled a knife of her own out and threw it at him, hitting him in the wrist.

Hearing him scream in pain and drop the knife, Yelena quickly got him with her widow's bite, his body slumping to the ground in front of her.

"Kate, are you okay?" Yelena said, quickly untying Kate. Seeing the red from the ropes around Kate's wrists, Yelena took them in her hands and gently kissed the marks.

"I think I'm okay," Kate unsteadily said, allowing Yelena to give her the once over.

"What happened?"

"I was practicing and they just jumped me."

"As long as you're okay." Pulling Kate close, Yelena held her for a moment, breathing in deeply.

"How did you know to come?" Kate asked, pulling back so she could look at Yelena.

"You didn't answer your phone and I got worried."

"God I love you so much, Yelena Belova."
