POV: Aedon Torchbearer
Flying through space I stayed in my room taking care of my weapons and making sure to take a nap as we headed to one of Palavan's moons. I'm sure there was a specific name for said moon but it didn't matter to me. We had an objective once we arrived and that was to get the Primarch off of it and out of the system where he would be safe. Then the Turians would be able to help us take back Earth.
As for the wait it went by rather quickly, especially with my nap, before Shepard called over the intercom for us to get to the briefing room. Arriving there everyone else arrived quickly after myself with, again, the exception of Architect. I'm curious as to why he wasn't helping us here. He was definitely a capable soldier and I hadn't noticed any injuries on him.
"Dimia, Palavan's moon is where we're headed. Our objective is to get the Primarch out of there and safely aboard the Normandy before anything can happen to him. Unfortunately the only information we have on Dimia is that it's been hit hard by the Reapers. Not as bad as Palavan has been but Palavan's just a step down from Earth at this point. Expect to be outnumbered and surrounded at all times."
"So… just sprint like hell to the nearest Turians still fighting then?" Vega asked sounding hopeful that his assessment would be wrong. We all knew it wasn't.
"That's about the gist of it. However, once we get closer to the moon we should be able to get in contact with some of the Turians still fighting. They'll be able to direct us to where we should land and if there's anything we can do to ease their burden. As for the Reaper forces expect for some new variants beyond the husks we are used to. We don't know if Turians turn into something different than humans but the smart money is on yes.
With that in mind if you notice anything about the Turian husks that could help the fight, don't hesitate to mention it. Adding to that, make sure your helmets are recording in case you miss anything; we'll be sending those recordings to Ai so they can review them and do the same. If your helmets don't currently have the capability to record go pick up one from the Quartermaster… Any questions?" no one said anything. "Be at the shuttle within the next 30 mikes. Dismissed."
At that everyone left the room to go gather their gear. I already had everything on me and instead went to find Architect. It wasn't needed but at this point curiosity was getting the better of me and there was a little time to burn. Walking around the ship I checked the range, the war room, Liara's room, the barracks with him nowhere in sight. Only to check the med bay as more of a curtesy and to see him there sitting on one of the benches with Dr. Chakwas examining him.
"Doctor," I announced my presence calmly. She looked up from where her stethoscope was on Architechs chest. She gave me a small smile before pulling away from the man and moving to her desk quietly. Architect looked to be perfectly healthy to me but in his eyes was that sort of resignation you only ever saw in terminal patients. I saw plenty of those on Omega when I would visit Mordin's clinic.
"How long do you got?" I asked concern lacing my voice.
"A year if I'm really lucky. Looking at closer to three months. Lung and kidney cancer; lung is stage three and kidney is stage four," in other words, there wasn't anything that could be done besides make it easier on him. Both of those together will make his final weeks painful.
"What about the information network?"
"Don't worry about that son. I'm saving everything I can and have it locked down tight; when I pass and if I'm still on the ship you'll get a message on where to find everything. If I'm not on the ship then it'll go to the Vatican," I nodded my head at that. Reaching out I patted him on the shoulder my mind coming up with nothing better and I left the room to head to the shuttle.
Getting there Vega and Nif were already there talking between each other. When they saw me though they immediately stopped talking, like that wasn't screaming they were talking about me. I just ignored it used to that at this point. Seemed whenever Shepard and myself were involved people always liked to talk about us. The Leader and the Monster.
Either way I simply waited for everyone else to arrive and I didn't have to wait long. When everyone was there we piled into the shuttle and waited for the go ahead from Joker to disembark from the Normandy. The engines of the shuttle already turned on and the shuttle pointed out the back.
Not that much later Joker's voice came over the intercom of the shuttle and we shot through the opening cargo hatch speeding towards the surface of the moon. As we approached we picked up some radio chatter from the moon and Garrus' familiar voice came through. It had me smiling knowing that the guy was alive down there and he directed us to where we could help. There were apparently a few AA implacements near his camp that had gone down and needed to be rebooted and that was where we were headed.
Cortez flew like a man possessed avoiding as much of the incoming fire from the Reapers he could. Something that concerned me on a small level as it told me the new variants could use weapons making the war all the harder already. Pushing that out of my mind when we landed and the side door opened we immediately saw a good dozen regular husks sprinting straight for us with two other variants behind them numbering a dozen total firing at us.
Jumping out of the shuttle first I threw a grenade at the incoming husks exploding in the middle of the pack taking out four of them instantly and blowing the legs off another two. Both of which were put down instantly by Shepard and Vega. As soon as the grenade was out of my hands though I felt a shot slam into my shields reducing it almost 25% immediately.
Looking at where the shot had come from one of the new Variants that had to be a Turian was looking down its barrel at me. Firing off my AR at it the round splashed off shields and I growled at that realization before sprinting to a rock for cover. As soon as I got into cover though another of the new variants, looking close to what a Batarian might jumped over the rock and tackled me.
Rolling with the tackle I got on top and put my AR in its mouth pulling the trigger and exploding its head. Grabbing the thing by the shoulder I threw it out of my cover disregarding the carcas. Popping out of cover I zeroed in on two husks that were about to go around Nif and Liara's cover and popped them both in the head with my AR. Thing might be heavy but it hit like a god damn truck and each shot was satisfying.
With those two husks taken out I poked my head out the other side of my cover only to see two of the Batarian husks literally eating the carcas I had tossed. As they did so they seemed to get bigger and almost started to glow. Knowing it would be a bad idea to let them finish I grabbed a grenade and tossed it at them. It blew up between the two and eviscerated both.
Pushing out of cover after that I ran at the closest Turian husk popping it's shields with two shots before putting the third through its head dropping it. Another shot from it's friend knocked my shields down to 65% but it put itself in my sights and it received the same treatment as its buddy only it was able to drop back into its cover before my third shot could be fired.
Pulling out a grenade as I ran at its cover I tossed it over said cover before sliding into the other side and dropping down. As soon as the grenade went off I vaulted over the cover to see it and other one twitching on the ground littered with shrapnel. Not taking any chances I stomped on both of their heads, squishing them like grapes, just to make sure. As I squished the second one I spun around as I heard footsteps behind me and got to see a husk jumping at me.
As it was in the air I was raising my rifle when a bullet went through its head. Snapping my eyes to where the shot came from I got to see Liara with her pistol outstreched in front of her. Exchanging a nod with her we started to hem the husks into one area pushing them back with every shot and motion until Vega popped a grenade and tossed it at the now bunched up husks. The grenade killed all of them leaving us alone in the area.
We weren't done here though as once the husks were dealt with Shepard gave the order to follow and we did. Following him it took us all of two minutes to find one of the AA implacements they had told us about. Only finding a couple of scattered husks along the way which we quickly took care of.
Arriving at the AA implacement Shepard ordered Nif to begin to fix it. Nif did so without argument and we took defensive positions around him and prepared to be attacked. Which was the right decision as not a full 30 seconds after he started we saw husks plus the Turian and Batarian variants coming at us. With us already waiting for them the regular husks went down easily with a shot to the head but the others kept coming.
Still, they had little to no cover as they attacked us so it wasn't that hard. At least that was my thought until something jumped over the outcropping on my left, landed and then backhanded me a good 20 feet in the air. Landing hard one of the Batarian variants was immediately on me trying to bite into me. I was barely able to get my right augmetic up in time for it to bite into, it would need maintenance after this.
Still, as it bit into my arm I grabbed my Locust with my left hand, the AR lost in my impromptu flight, and fired it into its head. As it died it dropped lifelessly on me and just as I pushed it off me a new Reaper soldier was already on me and backhanded me again, apparently I had personally offended it.
Landing after a good 10 foot flight I sprung back up and got to see the new Reaper monstrosity charging at me. It looked like a steroided up version of what Saren had been when he had been possessed by Sovereign. Bigger, and maybe stronger but definitely not faster and that was the only reason I was able to dodge out of the way of its charge. Doing so I disregarded my Locust and pulled out my ax, it instantly elongated into its halberd form in my hands.
Staring at the hulking mass of Reaper in front of me it roared out a challenge. One I refused to acknowledge and then it charged at me. Metting the charge halfway I slid underneath it's outstretched clad and dug my halberd into its leg. The leg held out from being severed but the cut was deep enough that the leg was useless at that point. Which proved to be a boon, without even one of it's legs it was basically a dead fish. All that weight and it needed both legs to move effectively.
From there, with its mobility completely shot, I began to surgically take it out. The other leg went first this time though I stabbed it with the spear end and it caught on fire, biotic fire. The thing screamed in pain but swinging the halberd into its side caused it's screams to increase and it took a desperate swipe at me. Jumping out of the way I shot back at it and brough the ax portion on its neck decapitating it.
I didn't get any rest though as another husk jumped at me over the variants dead body. Again on instinct I raised my halberd and the husk impaled itself on the spear tip. Lifting the impaled husk up I slammed the bottom of the haft into the ground shaking the husk on the spear tip. Then I kicked it out with my foot violently wrenching the spear tip out of the husk and freeing the halberd*.
Once the husk hit the ground my ax shrunk back down and I brought out my smg. It wasn't needed however as nothing around me was moving. Once I noticed that I put my smg away and walked over to where my AR was lying on the ground. Picking it up I heard Nif speak through the radio that the AA tower was all set and ready to go.
With that done we went to the next one. Thankfully, the second one had no new players and as Nif dealt with getting it back in working order the rest of us had an easy time picking off the husks that ran at us. The Turian and Batarian versions either hanging back or not joining the charge at all towards us. It was unclear but they didn't bother us at all so I wasn't about to complain.
This one took far less time for Nif and we moved to the finall AA implacement. One that was literally less than 100 feet from the wall of a Turian FOB*. On the ramparts of said wall I saw Garrus. New battle scars all over the armor that I could see but when he saw Liara, Shepard and Myself he sent us a happy wave and a smile. It was good to see the man.
As we set up in another defensive position around Nif as he started working on the AA implacement we could already hear the Reaper forces incoming. The near robotic screams of pain and anger being an obvious indicator of their impending charge. Seeing them come from almost every corner in front of us had my gun working on overtime as I fired at every target.
Reloading after exhausting my heat sink I growled as I wished I had my old Mattock back. I miss that thing when it didn't have to reload and it was for that very reason I missed it. It was also that reason that caused me to get jumped by three husks at the same time. As I was reloading they made it past Liara, who was also reloading, and all jumped at me.
They slammed me into the ground back first but I was able to toss the first one over my shoulder and away from me for the moment. The other two were latched around my waist and shoulder respectively. Activating my torch with my left augmetic I burned the face off the one around my waist as Liara came to my help and blew the head off the one around my shoulder. Ripping my knife out of its holster I spun, got to a knee and threw it at the husk I had tossed that was now charging me. The knife burying itself into its head.
As soon as the knife was out of my hand I was already moving towards the husk, even as the knife buried itself in its head. Sliding past it I grabbed the knife wrenching it out and putting it back in its sheath before pulling out my Locust and firing at the Turian husk closest to me. It took me a quarter of the heat sink to break their shields and a single bullet afterwards to kill it with the bullet going between its eyes. That was enough time for another of the Batarian husks to tackle me.
When it did I was able to get my feet underneath it and toss it into the air. Once it was airborn a Carnage round hit it and it was eviscerated. Looking at where Vega was I nodded to him getting up and noticed that the entire area was completely devoid of any life that wasn't us. Breathing a sigh of relief at that Nif signaled that he was done and the AA implacement spun to life firing immediately.
Once that was done the doors to the Turian FOB opened up and we sprinted through. I spotted Garrus immediately jumping down from the ramparts and approaching both Shepard and myself. I gave him a big hug and he did the same to Shepard; it was good to see the man alive and well. After our hugs though he motioned for us to follow him and we did so as he took us over to what looked like a mini command center.
"Not that I'm not happy to see either of you but I have to ask what you're doing here," he asked not bothering to look at us as we walked. Shepard answered.
"We're here for the Primarch. We're to get him out of here."
"Then you're shit out of luck. The Primarch's dead and as far as I know the one that's supposed to replace him is a good click away from here. Their comms have been spotty at best but we're still able to talk to them if you wanna try your hand."
"That would be much appreciated Garrus, who can get me in contact?" Shepard asked.
"Go to the Turian next to the stretchers. He'll get you in contact," Garrus stated pointing out the Turian to Shepard who nodded and walked off but not before clapping Garrus on the shoulder. Once he left Garrus looked at me.
"How's Nyreen?"
"Good as can be. We fought off Cerberus trying to invade Omega barely a week ago but she misses you and she's worried."
"Yeah… I guessed as much. I miss her and this hasn't been anything like I hoped. Even with everything we did to prepare they still ran through us… I don't even know if my family is safe. They're still on Palavan as far as I know," I put a comforting hand on his shoulder and he took a deep breath before reaching down to his hip where one of his pockets were. Digging in there for a couple of seconds he pulled out a small little box and showed it to me before opening it. Inside sat a bracelet with an ornate Opal where the diamond would usually be.
"It was my mothers… You think she'll say yes?"
"Fuck no. If she's got any sense she'll be sprinting away the moment you get on your knee," Garrus just looked at me blandly for a couple of seconds before responding.
"You're an asshole," he stated shaking his head as he chuckled.
"She misses you man, she's also worried that she hasn't heard from you since this all started," I made a wide gesture at everything around us.
"We haven't been able to get any comms out. No communication can get out of the system but at least our radio's work. Boys at R&D credit you with allowing them to get funding for that, otherwise even our radio's wouldn't work."
"Another feather in my cap I guess… How's the casualties looking?"
"Not good but better than it would have been if we hadn't been preparing. A lot of our outer colonies were able to be evacuated as well before they were destroyed. That being said we've still lost at least a billion, maybe two."
I opened my mouth to continue the conversation but Shepard came back stopping that from happening. Told me we would be moving out in five and to grab anything I might need. I nodded and headed over to where their munitions were and grabbed a few heat sinks and grenades.
Joining the rest of the group after restocking we were joined by Garrus. He told me that he would be our guide to the other FOB. Leaving this one he whispered to me that he was also getting out of here with us on the Normandy saying there was no way he was letting Shepard I go around the galaxy without him. Stating that if he wasn't along for the ride our mission was already doomed; that there was no way we wouldn't somehow explode the galaxy. His exact words and I couldn't really fault his thought process honestly.
Moving through no man's land on the moon Garrus and I were on point with him being the guide. Shepard and Vega in the middle behind us with Nif and Liara taking up the rear of our procession. We lasted barely over a minute in no mans land before we attacked by husks, a good 25 of them.
Both Vega and myself popping grenades into their charge as soon as we saw them. The grenades took at least eight of them out in total and then it was just a turkey shoot. There may have been a decent number of them but with two biotics capable of Singularities, plenty of grenades, a crackshot sniper and our techie Nif it was a turkey shoot. Only one reaching us and it got an ax buried into its head as a result.
The next group that we ran into was definitely harder as six of the Turian variants ambushed us while we were going through a valley. They had all the high ground and we had next to no cover at all. As they fired down upon us the only cover we could have was to hug the wall which left us completely exposed to the other ridge. No one's shields survived the fight and both Shepard and Liara took rounds. Shepard's just grazing his thigh and Liara's in her shoulder.
We wouldn't have lasted much longer if it wasn't for Liara and Shepard using their biotics to succesfully hit the variants with a pair of singularities. Once they were caught a grenade from Vega and I into each singularity solved the problem. I then treated both Liara and Shepard; Shepard's was fine but I covered it since I didn't want it to get infected. Liara's was a through and through on her shoulder and missed her shoulder blade so she would be fine as well. Some painkillers and medi-gel and she was right as rain.
With them taken care of we moved on and got out of the valley as quickly as we could. Once we did we had a clear line of sight to the next FOB. The only problem being that there was a good 20 husks, at least 10 both the Turian and Batarian variants and two more of those Saren rip-off variants. All between us and the FOB, at least they didn't know we had arrived yet.
Worst part was that they were spread out. There were no clumps of them that a grenade would be able to make a significant impact on their numbers. The only good thing I was seeing was that most of the regular husks were either around the wall of the FOB or currently trying to climb up it. Once we had all taken this in Shepard gave out the orders.
Myself, Vega and Shepard would be the spearhead and hit the Turian variants on the left side of the field from behind. Nif and Garrus would start by firing at the Batarian ones on the right. Liara would hang back and support with her biotics wherever she could. She also had the job of making sure the Saren ones didn't get to close to us or at the very least slow them down so we would have time to deal with them.
Once everyone had their roles we sprung into action. Charging forward towards the Turian variants the first one never saw me coming putting four rounds into his head, the first three being absorbed by its shields. It had barely enough time to turn around and scream in a hellish voice before it was dropped but that was enough to alert the others with it.
They turned around and fired at us but it also left them open to the Turians on the wall. Still, they didn't go easy and with how hard their guns hit popping out of cover to shoot at them wasn't fun. More than once were they able to break my shields and force me back down so I wouldn't get hit.
I still got hit though as a round slammed into my chest after I was up and above cover for too long. The force of the hit put me on the ground and took the breath away from me for a few moments but as the armor caught it. Pushing myself back up and sitting below the cover I waited for my shields to recharge only to hear a roar and Liara shouting over the comms that the big one was right on me.
Diving away on instinct I was lucky as one of its clawed hands slammed down where I had been. Without shields and without knowing the attack was coming that definitely would've killed me. Raising my rifle at its head and firing I was only able to get two shots off before it was on me and took a swipe at me.
Dropping limply to the ground the claw went over my head and I rolled to the side as its other one slammed into the ground intent on flattening me. Finishing my role I was able to aim my gun and fire off another shot putting a round straight through the things eye. It roared in pain and thrashed around clutching at its eye for a moment before regaining its senses but that moment was all I needed.
Shooting to my feet, dropping my AR and grabbing my ax it instantly changed into its halberd form and I swung with two hands down on its neck. The biotically enhanced blade cut clean through the neck killing it but in its last breath it had backhanded a claw at me. Said claw slammed into me sending my ax out of my hand and sent me flying a good few feet hitting a rock and flipping over.
Groaning from pain I flipped myself over to my back and made to push myself up only for one of Batarian variants to jump over the rock and straight onto me. I wasn't able to stop its bite as it closed in on my helmet but this it didn't do anything. This thing had blocked a Rachni bite and the reapers jaw wasn't stronger.
Grabbing my Locust I put it on the things chest and emptied the clip blowing a hole clean through the monstrosity. Falling limply on me I pushed it off just for another one to jump over the rock at me. Rolling away before it could land on me I shot to my feet and charged at the variant seeing flames start rolling off my arms.
Moving just as fast as when I fought Dashi it never had a chance to defend itself as I buried a fist into its stomach doubling it over. Then I grabbed its right arm, which had formed into a gun of sorts, and ripped it off before hitting it with its own arm across its face stunning it. With it stunned I grabbed it by the face and drained it getting a small smile from me as I felt an increase in power. Guess these new variants held more power than the regular human ones.
Pushing that out of my mind I reloaded my Locust and poked my head out of cover scanning the field for enemies. There was just five variants in total left with three of the Turian ones, one Batarian and the big guy was still running around being hampered by Liara's biotics. Grabbing a grenade I aimed and tossed it at the beast, it blew up near one of its claws and sheared off its whole arm.
It roared out in pain and stumbled over towards me. Charging out of cover I slid the last few feet to the beast staying out of its line of sight and sprung up grabbing its face. Draining it felt good and when it was done it collapsed to the ground again but I was in the middle of the field with absolutely no cover. Something the other enemies still alive noticed and all fired on me.
Three shots hit my shields as I dove out of the way behind the carcass of the beast I had just drained with the final one breaking my shields. Knowing I wouldn't be able to do anything at the moment I waited it out. The others were still in the fight and it wouldn't be long until they finished off the variants.
I was right on that assumption as well when Shepard announced that the area was clear over the radio. Standing up from behind the carcass Garrus was already there and tossed me my AR before handing me my ax. Nodding in thanks we heard someone on the walls shout for us to get in already and we ran through the now open doors.
Getting through the doors I immediately went to their munitions and took what I could. Leaving the grenades alone and only taking a couple heat sinks; they were looking to already be running low. They should be able to survive until they get more supplies but I wasn't about to take too much from them, they would need it.
As I finished up grabbing what I needed a turian walked up to me. He was middle aged and a little bit shorter than the average turian with a fair number of battle scars on his armor. Held himself with experience though and was paranoid. I could tell from how his eyes and body shifted with a subtleness only us experienced paranoids would have.
"Thanks for not taking everything," he stated as he walked up to me before extending his hand. "Sirius Carinae, leader of Silverwatch," ah I'd heard of this guy. Solid record with extraction and protection contracts; and a bit of gun running for whatever government payed for it. They were small time compared to my outfit but extremely reliable; they had taken a few contracts from my people. Either way, I shook the man's hand.
"What's the leader of Silverwatch doing here?"
"We were hired by the Turian government to get Victus out of here when the people in front of him died. AA system went down as our shuttle came in for pickup and we've been stranded since. Hoping myself and the rest of my team can hitch a ride as our job isn't done yet."
"How many of you are there?"
"Five of us including myself."
"You should be able to but it's Shepard's call, I'll introduce you," I motioned with my head for him to follow and we walked over to where Shepard was. He was currently talking to a Turian with General markings on his armor along with Garrus standing next to Shepard.
"I can't just leave my men here Commander," the general ground out and Shepard replied with anger lacing his voice immediately.
"And I said the same thing on Earth General but this is bigger than both of us. You are the Primarch now, the Leader of your people. You can't stay here," the general started cursing immediately once Shepard was done talking and I knew Shepard had him. A few more seconds of cursing and quiet contemplation later he gave Shepard a nod.
"Call your shuttle hear, with the AA implacements up they'll be able to land but I don't know how much longer the sky's will be clear for," Shepard nodded and stepped away and spoke into his radio. When he got off the radio I introduced him in Sirius and walked off towards the wall and the gun implacement on it.
Standing next to the gun implacement I watched the field in front of and looked for any Reaper forces. The Shuttle would take a few minutes to get here so there was still plenty of time for the Reapers to hit us. As we continued to wait for the shuttle and I stayed on the wall I spotted one of the Saren knockoffs appear and it wasn't alone. Moments later more and more appeared and with regular husks and both variants appearing with them.
"Incoming!" I screamed and started to operate the gun implacement.
I didn't focus on anything but the incoming reaper forces in front of me my fingers never leaving the triggers. The only time I took one hand off of one of the triggers was to grab a grenade off my bandolier and toss it at the incoming forces. This went on for minutes firing and throwing as many grenades as I possibly could as other soldiers joined me on the wall.
Eventually though, through sheer numbers, the Reaper forces were able to climb up the wall. From there I had to rely on those around me to protect myself as I continued to fire on the incoming Rearper forces. Then it all went sideways as the gun clicked empty and I was shocked, these things were means to have at least 10000 rounds and it ran empty. Had no one been checking this?!
Swearing at the revelation I pulled back and tossed the rest of grenades at the incoming husks and variants. They blew apart dozens upon dozens of clumped up husks but it wasn't enough as they kept coming. However, it seemed to be just in time though as I saw our shuttled begin to lower itself into the middle of the FOB.
Jumping off the wall and rolling upon landing I sprinted to where the shuttle was. The whole squad plus Victus and Sirius and only two other Turians already there. Just as the shuttle was touching the down the doors to the FOB burst open and the Reaper soldiers poured through. We unloaded everything we had at them as they ran at us but their numbers were just too much.
Agonizing seconds later the shuttle door opened and Cortez shouted for us to get in. We did so continuing to fire at the incoming hoard, as we did so I took off my helmet and sucked in a deep breath. Letting it all out in the loudest scream I could muster it smashed against the reaper forces closing in on us and sent most of them careening away. It gave us just enough room to get takeoff without any hangerons.
Breathing a sigh of relief I settled down in one of the chairs of the shuttle and let the aches of the day finally make themselves known. From the feeling in my aching ribs they were at least bruised if not fractured or broken. Especially where that Saren knockoff had backhanded me.
It didn't matter though, our mission was a success and that's all that mattered. As we approached the Normandy and landed inside it wasted no time and we shot straight towards the Citadel. Upon disembarking from the shuttle I went to the medbay and got checked up by Dr. Chakwas.
None of my ribs were broken thankfully. My armor had taken the hit but they were definitely bruised but it wasn't anything a bit of medi-gel couldn't fix. With that done I went back to my room and did maintenance on my weapons and made sure my armor was still at full capacity. Despite shots the armor had taken it was still holding at its best and wouldn't need to have bits replaced, even though I had them on hand.
With that done I planned on going to sleep until we got to the Citadel but my omni-tool pinged a message. Opening it I saw that Shepard was asking for me to come to his room. Getting dressed in sweats I made my way there and knocked on the door getting an affirmative on the other side immediately. Entering I saw Shepard looking over a couple of reports on his Terminal with Jack meditating in the middle of the room.
"What's up sir?"
"We've gotten a couple reports from Eden Prime about something they uncovered. Don't know what it is but when we reach the Citadel I'm sending you, Vega, Nif and Garrus to check it out. I'll have to be in talks with the other Council members for at least a day or two so Normandy will be on loan to you."
"Get there, find out what they uncovered, bring it back and done?" Shepard nodded his head and I went to leave when my omni-tool pinged with another message. Looking up at Jack she gave me a nod of her head and I opened the message she sent. It was a info packet detailing how to do and train what she had accomplished.
Leaving the room I went back to mine and lied down. I was tired.
POV: Eschucivi Dashi
I watched our scuffle on Omega over and over and how he fought and adapted to the situation. When I wasn't watching those I was picking up footage from his fights everywhere around the galaxy. I was only interested in the ones that he expelled his fire and then on Dimia from some of his teammates helmet cams… my reach was almost omniscient and I quietly laughed at that.
Though pushing that out of my mind, with the voice still screaming to be free. I shut her up after a few moments, annoying whore… Where was I? Why am I doing this? Who am I? I'm going to kill everything and prove I'm the best there is and ever will be. Hopefully the boy can bring me a challenge though… Where is my head at?
Fuck you!
Shut up! GO TO SLEEP!
… The voice was gone again. Finally. Where was I? Oh yeah… his element. I finally realized what Fire was for the Essence users. Water was defence and adaptability, Lightning was speed and offence but Fire… Fire is evolution. Burn away the past and create something new and volatile. Something that could evolve into an Inferno and become unstoppable.
The only real question now for the boy is if he would be able to reach his full potential. I honestly didn't know but I was going to find out.
