A/N- I realized some people have a particular hatred for Harry calling Ginny, "Gin" and I wanted to explore the only negative I see with the nickname!

Gathered around the table in the otherwise empty Great Hall were many of the remaining members of the Order of the Phoenix, and a few from Dumbledore's Army. All the people present, the Weasley's, Kingsley, Professor McGonagall, Aberforth, and several others had gathered to hear about Harry, Hermione, and Ron's time away. Finally able to share about their time away, they had come to a conclusion about the details that were most relevant to those present. In particular, they debated extensively the importance of sharing Ginny's unwitting involvement in finding out that the Horocruxes even existed. Just days after the battle, the castle had mostly been cleared of the dead and the survivors, leaving only a small group devoted to continuing clean up efforts. And, in several cases, those who were unable to return home without their loved ones.

After an hour of switching off who spoke about which particulars of their time after, lunch was served. Many chose to leave the table after eating, fancying a walk or sending any urgent messages (in Kingsley's case, at least). Left were Harry, Hermione, Ron and the rest of his family minus his parents and George, who had been bed bound for days.

"Gin, will you pass me the rolls?" Harry pointed to the basket next to Ginny, who obliged wordlessly.

"Since when does anyone call you 'Gin'?" Bill commented, waiting for a response.

"I don't know, it's just Harry that does, I guess." Ginny shrugged, but threw Harry a look he knew very well- Without knowing how or why, he could tell he was about to regret something.

"Harry has a specific nickname for you that only he uses? He's shortened your already shortened name?" Suddenly realizing exactly how badly he flubbed up this, Harry found himself desperately wishing to melt into the floor to avoid this particular conversation with the vast majority of the Weasley's. "Are you two involved?"

"Involved with what?" Ginny's eyes widened, her best innocent act. Though he knew logically he shouldn't appreciate Ginny's ability to lie so much, he always found himself more impressed than concerned.

"Involved with each other!" Bill's glance darted back and forth between the two of them, seemingly forgetting that there were other people at the table that would be perfectly able to answer such a question.

Their negative answers were identical, but Ginny's surly tone and Harry's short, clipped way of speaking was hardly comforting to anyone.

"You know, that's the answer I was hoping for, and yet I'm not put at ease." Bill looked between Harry and Ginny, waiting expectantly. Ultimately though, he found himself disappointed and rounded on the others. "Ron, are they together?"

"Um, well. You know, they said no, so I'd say no," he answered diplomatically.

But in spite of the three identical answers, Bill remained unconvinced.

"Well, then why does there exist a specific nickname for our little sister that only Harry uses? For Merlin's sake Ron, you're the last of us left to look after her!" Bill threw his hands up in front of him, slapping them down on the table. The dishes clattered loudly, punctuating his irritation with his youngest brother.

"Look after me?" Ginny's nostrils flared. For the first time in Harry's memory, Ginny seemed ready to lash out at whom he always assumed was her favorite brother. "I don't need to be looked after, I'm MORE than capable of looking after myself. It's no one's business who I am, or was, seeing, Harry included."

"So you were seeing each other!" In the midst of his successful interrogation, Bill's face fell, realizing the implications of the relationship between the two of them. "Why did you two break up then?"

"How is this any of your business?" Ginny snapped, still annoyed.

"I wouldn't have to ask if you weren't hiding it from everyone. Why did you break up?"

"I don't know, ask Harry." She glared in Harry's direction, challenging him to explain his reasoning.

"Is this really necessary? I don't want to have this conversation in front of your entire family."

"I see you're making all the decisions like you always do. Like when you decided to unilaterally end our relationship, what does it matter what I want, right?"

"Merlin, Gin, it's not like that's what I wanted either, what else was I supposed to do?"

"Talk to me! Include me in decisions every one in a while! It wouldn't kill you, and even if it did, you could just fake your own death again, right?"

Burying his face in his hands, Harry contemplated the best way out of this conversation. Surely faking his own death again was the wrong call, but it did seem appealing in the moment.

"So, is anyone going to explain, or should I just make something up?" Bill looked around, waiting for anyone to answer.

To the surprise of everyone at the table, it was Percy that answered, still staring blankly at the table in front of him. Harry lifted his head, anxious to hear how Percy's opinion of him had morphed over the past two years.

"They had to. All our family was already being highly scrutinized by the ministry, even me. But Ginny especially, there was already a lot of talk about how much she knew. But everyone could testify, even under veritaserum, that they weren't together. It was a lot easier to believe that she didn't know anything if there was no verifiable connection between them." Percy looked up towards Ginny, addressing her possibly for the first time since she and the twins launched mashed parsnips at him two Christmases ago. "I know you might not like it, but it was the right call. It was a lot easier to keep you from being too interesting to the ministry."

Ginny softened towards her brother, instead turning her irritation back towards Harry.

"We could have avoided all this if you just used my real name in front of them."

"Okay, Ginerva."

She shot over a glowering expression, glaring intensely.
