Things had certainly been a little more hectic these days since the French branch of U.Z.Z. had decided to appoint Delphine Rambeau as Pamela Peyron's replacement. Delphine, for her part, was happy that she was now her branch's new chief. She was slightly less enthusiastic about her name now being Changed Daily and could only hope that her names from that point on weren't as embarrassing as the British chief's names were wont to be.

Today, Professor Professor and Doctor Doctor had decided to travel to the administrative district of Popincourt in Paris and personally visit the new French Changed Daily at her house on Boulevard Beaumarchais. Delphine had been busy cleaning house as of late, so her home wasn't exactly spotless but presentable enough that people wouldn't immediately judge her for how it looked.

Doctor Doctor was the one to knock on the door.

"Who is it?" Delphine could be heard asking in her distinct Parisian accent.

"It's us, Doctor Doctor and Professor Professor," the cyan-hued former baddie replied. "We're here to congratulate you on your new job."

"Oh, of course. Come on in. I hope you don't mind the place. I've been doing a little spring cleaning as it were."

Once the married couple had done so, Delphine gave them a brief tour of her house and then had them sit with her in the dining room.

"I'm actually really glad you could come visit me," Delphine said. "It's nice to have someone to talk to about this promotion. Ever since I've gotten the position of chief, my name has been Changed Daily. Today, you shall call me..." Her cellphone beeped. "Hmm... Hunna."

"Hunna?" Professor Professor asked. "As in Hunna the patron saint of laundresses?"

"That's what it would seem like. That's a little disappointing. I was hoping for something more classy like Mademoiselle Papillion or something."

"I mean, it could be worse. You could've gotten your British counterpart's name today, Boward Woward."

Hunna had to stifle a laugh. "Wow, really? Boward Woward? What a ridiculous name."

"You got that right. Anyway, how have you been handling things as chief, Hunna?"

"Pretty well. I'm still a little bit overwhelmed by all these new responsibilities I have to deal with now. Though I suppose it takes time to adjust to this kind of position."

"Yes, it most certainly does. Boward Woward can definitely attest to that."

"Though I must wonder how Pamela made it look so easy?"

It was Doctor Doctor's turn to chime in. "I've personally known Pamela for a while now, and I think if I had to hazard a guess, it would have to be how she composed herself. She almost never lets her emotions falter. She just puts on these professional airs that make her seem affable to people."

Hunna appeared to give this some thought. "I see. So have I been doing a good job lately?"

"I mean, why wouldn't you be?" Professor Professor answered with another question. "You've been one of the French branch's best agents. Of course you've been doing a good job."

Hunna was about to thank him for saying that when she heard the doorbell ring.

"Oh, I'll get it." Hunna walked over to the front door and opened it up to see who it was: a UPS delivery guy with what looked like a package for her. "Ooh, a package. I wonder who sent this to me?"

"I believe that would be a Ms. Pamela Peyron, mademoiselle," the UPS delivery guy said. "At least that's what it says on the label."

Suddenly, Doctor Doctor tensed up upon hearing the name "Pamela Peyron," and she rushed right over to where Hunna was and shoved the package out of her hands and onto the street.

"Hey!" Hunna exclaimed. "What the hell was that for?"

"Trust me," Doctor Doctor replied. "I did you a favor."

Just as Doctor Doctor said this, the package exploded, setting a few car alarms and horns as it did so.

"Oh mon Dieu!" Hunna exclaimed again. "Do you think Pamela might be trying to kill me?"

"I'm afraid so," Doctor Doctor could only reply.

"We have to find out where that package came from," Professor Professor chimed in. "And we'll have to do this in a way that's totally untested und highly dangerous."

After some sleuthing around, Professor Professor, Doctor Doctor, and Hunna eventually managed to find the source of the mysterious package Hunna had gotten from UPS. It turned out that the package had been sent from the administrative district of Vaugirard, which shared the Montparnasse district with both Luxembourg and the arrondissement de l'Observatoire. Specifically, the package had been sent from the Beaugrenelle Paris shopping mall, where Pamela, her father Maxime, and the rest of T.H.E.M. had currently made their headquarters. The three sleuths managed to sneak their way inside the shopping mall and search around for where T.H.E.M. could be hiding out.

"This is certainly a crazy plan," Hunna said. "I hope you know what you're doing, Professor Professor."

"Of course I know what I'm doing," Professor Professor retorted. "I'm not a genius for nothing, you know."

Doctor Doctor had to suppress a chuckle. "No, you certainly aren't." She'd known fully well the extent of his ego.

"Now then, if we were Pamela, where would we go?" Hunna asked.

The trio looked around some more, hoping to find any hint of T.H.E.M. somewhere. It didn't take long before Doctor Doctor noticed Expendable Black Eight rounding a corner of the mall.

"Masire!" Doctor Doctor called out to him.

Expendable Black Eight turned around to look at his former boss and then pointed at himself. "You talking to me?"

"Yes, I am! What are you doing here? Where's your boss?"

"Which one you referring to? Kafka or Brod?"

Doctor Doctor found herself flummoxed by what he'd said. "What the hell are you talking about? Who are Kafka and Brod?"

"Kafka and Brod are my bosses."

Doctor Doctor was even more flummoxed. "Which is which?"

"Kafka's the lady, and Brod's the man."

"He must be referring to Pamela and Maxime..." Hunna murmured to herself.

"Can you take us to them?" Doctor Doctor asked Masire.

"Sure, just follow me," Masire replied.

Within the span of a few minutes, Masire had led the trio into a 10-screen movie theater within the mall. Sure enough, Pamela and Maxime were standing right there in front of them.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Pamela asked. "I see my replacement is still alive. Guess that bomb I sent didn't kill her after all."

"Why do you want me dead, Pamela or Kafka or whatever you call yourself now?" Hunna asked. "What did I ever do to you to deserve it?"

"Well, let me just put it like this: you just stood there doing nothing while U.Z.Z. stripped me of my position and my accolades. You let them basically erase me from existence and did nothing to stop it. Maybe this time, things will be different and I can get rid of you once and for all. And this time, your friends will be along for the ride."

Beads of sweat started rolling down Hunna's face, but she tried her best not to let the fear show. "What do you plan to do with us?"

Pamela snapped her fingers. "Expendables, strap these three sacs de merde down to some seats. I've got a surprise waiting for them there."

Just then, six Expendables emerged and strapped the hostages down to the theater seats with ropes and handcuffs.

"You won't get away with this, Pamela," Hunna said. "U.Z.Z. will stop by and save us."

"No, they won't," Pamela replied. "This time, there is absolutely nothing they can do to save you. Oh, and there's a bomb underneath the seats that's set to go off in three hours."

"I'd savor these last moments if I were you," Maxime added. "They'll be all that you have."

With that, Pamela and her father walked out of the theater, with the Expendables and especially Masire following right behind them. That left just Hunna, Doctor Doctor, and Professor Professor to try to figure out how to get out of these restraints.

"We'll certainly have to think hard on how we're going to escape," Hunna said. "I hope you've got a plan for us, Professor Professor."

"Of course I do," Professor Professor replied. "I'm not a genius for nothing, you know."

"Okay, so what's the plan, Professor Professor?"

"It involves pointy sticks. If I rub two pointy sticks together, then that should create enough friction to generate enough heat to start a fire. Then I can use that fire to burn through our restraints and escape before the bomb can detonate and kill us."

"Are you absolutely sure that'll work?"

"It may be totally untested und highly dangerous, but I can feel it in my bones that this will work."

Hunna just shrugged at this. "Alright, I'll accept any plan at this point. Give it your best shot."

Professor Professor produced two pointy sticks seemingly from hammerspace and proceeded to rub them together and create the fire they needed to escape. Once everyone had broken free from their restraints (including the handcuffs, which still conveniently had keys attached to them), they proceeded to head out from the theater and try to track down Pamela and Maxime.

"Now then, if we were Pamela and Maxime, where would we go?" Hunna asked.

"That way!" Professor Professor and Doctor Doctor proceeded to point in two completely different directions as they responded simultaneously.

Hunna soon got an idea on what she could do to easily find the two baddies: just call for backup and let them do the work.

Doctor Doctor couldn't help but express some doubt upon being told of the idea. "What about the bomb back in the theater? Shouldn't we take care of that if we're not going to track Pamela and Maxime down?"

"Oh, right, right, right," Hunna replied. "Let's do that while we're here. Have to make sure we tie up loose ends, you know."
