Chapter 10: Sweet Home Academy

A few days had passed since Whirl made her call to the Academy from Equestria, and during those few days, I'm very pleased to say that Hot Shot's overall demeanor improved dramatically. He started being more sociable with the other bots like usual and even saw Salvo for counseling about what to do whenever he felt angry at someone in order to prevent what happened between him and Hoist from ever happening again. In addition, he also apologized to Medix, Wedge, Slash, Brushfire, and Laserbeak as well as Sludge and Snarl for being rude to them, and like Hoist, they happily forgave him. In the Action Matrix, Hot Shot was even playing the Cube game he had been offered to by and with Bumblebee and Wedge as a very pleased-looking Heatwave looked on. Hoist and Fixit, who had Ground-Bridged to the Academy from Crown City, were also playing the game.

"It sure is nice to see Hot Shot back to his usual self." he said to himself. "Looks like that call from Whirl gave him some sense of closure."

Just then, Ratchet entered, carrying a box.

"I guess you got those parts you ordered?" asked Heatwave.

"Yup." nodded Ratchet. "The delivery came just this morning."

"Great." said Heatwave.

Ratchet then went over to Hot Shot and the others.

"Hey, guys, I'm sorry to interrupt, but I've got the parts we need to fix the Dimension Bridge." he said. "So how about we get started on those repairs?"

"Sounds great." agreed Hot Shot.

"But can we finish this Cube game first?" asked Hoist.

"Yeah, I'm doing right bell, bite Mel, quite well." said Fixit.

"Sure." said Ratchet with a nod. "Boulder and I will be waiting for you."

With that, Ratchet left, and the game resumed. When it was over, Hot Shot, Hoist, and Fixit left the Action Matrix and made their way to the room where the Ground Bridge was. Sure enough, there were Ratchet and Boulder waiting for them.

"Well, here we are." said Hoist.

"Fantastic." smiled Boulder. "Now that you are, let's get to work."

With that, the five bots began the repairs. First, they removed all the parts that had been damaged by the fire Hot Shot had mistakingly caused in Chapter 5, but before they installed the new parts, they examined it to see if they could find the source of the Dimension Bridge's malfuction all the way back in Chapter 1. Sure enough, they did. As it turned out, Hoist hadn't properly installed the component that controlled the portal during the machine's power-down sequence, and fortunately, that particular component had somehow managed to remain perfectly intact during the fire, and to fix that, they just uninstalled it then reinstalled it again, but this time, Boulder installed it. With that out of the way, the group installed all the new parts and rewired the components Hot Shot had fiddled around with when trying to fix the Bridge himself. Soon, the repair process was complete.

"Alright, let's test it." said Hoist. "Care to do the honors, Fixit?"

"With pleasure." said Fixit.

Fixit then pressed the button that worked the portal, and the Dimension Bridge powered up and powered back down again without any problems whatsoever. The bots were very pleased with these results. Hot Shot, expectedly, was the most pleased.

"We did it!" he cheered. "It's fixed!"

"Well done, everyone." praised Boulder.

"We've got to let Whirl know!" said Hoist.

Back in Equestria, Whirl was hanging out with the Mane 7 at Sugarcube Corner again when she heard her phone ringing. When she picked up the phone and saw Hot Shot's face on the Caller ID, she became ecstatic.

"It's Hot Shot!" she squealed with delight.

"Well, what are ya waitin' for?" asked Applejack. "Answer it!"

Whirl did just that.

"Hi, Hot Shot!" she bubbled.

"Hey, Whirl!" replied Hot Shot. "I've got some great news for you!"

"What is it?" asked Whirl.

"We got the Dimension Bridge fixed!" said Hot Shot.

Whirl couldn't believer her audio sensors.

"For real?!" she gasped.

"Yeah!" said Hot Shot. "So, do you want to come home now or do you want to wait a little bit longer?"

"I'd like to wait a little bit longer if that's okay." said Whirl.

"Sure." nodded Hot Shot. "That'll give us time to get the others together to give you a proper welcome home."

"Alright." agreed Whirl. "Well, I'll see you soon."

"You too." said Hot Shot.

The two then ended their call.

"So, what's going on?" asked Starlight.

Whirl explained everthing.

"That sounds wonderful!" exclaimed Twilight.

"You must be excited to be finally going home." added Rarity.

"I am." nodded Whirl. "But I will miss you guys, though."

"And we'll miss you." said Fluttershy. "But as long as you're happy that you're finally able to go home, we're happy, too."

"I couldn't agree more." said Whirl.

The next day, Whirl decided that she was ready to go home. Twilight and her friends all gathered at the Castle of Friendship to bid farewell to Whirl, who had already sent the coordinates of the castle to Hot Shot, who was waiting with the others back at the Academy. All she needed to do was to just tell them she was ready and the portal would open.

"So long, Whirl." said Twilight. "It was a pleasure to meet you."

"It's all on me." replied Whirl.

"Please, do feel free to visit again." said Celestia.

"Same goes for your friends at the Academy." added Luna.

"I'll keep that in mind." winked Whirl.

At the Academy, all the bots had gathered in the room where the Dimension Bridge was and were awaiting the word from Whirl.

"Any second now." said Hot Shot. "Any second now, she'll call or text saying she's ready."

At that moment, Hot Shot's phone buzzed. Sure enough, when he checked it, he saw a text message from Whirl that simply said "I'm ready!" and had a grin emoji after it.

"Alright, this is it!" said Hot Shot. "Here it goes!"

Back in Equestria, Whirl watched as a familiar round yellow aura appeared in front of herself and her Equestrian friends. She then turned around to face them.

"Goodbye, everyone!" she said with a wave.

Twilight and the others all waved to Whirl and bid her a final "Goodbye!". Whirl then turned back around to face the portal, took a deep breath, and stepped through it. When she came out the other end, she was greeted to a welcoming party eighteen bots. When she and Hot Shot's optics met, they ran towards each other with open arms and embraced tightly (but not too tightly).

"Oh, Whirl, words can't even begin to describe how much I've missed you." said Hot Shot.

"I missed you so much too." said Whirl.

"I speak for all of us when I say "welcome home, Whirl"." said Chase as he stepped forward.

"Thanks, Chase." smiled Whirl. "It's really good to be home."

Just then, Whirl remembered something.

"Oh, by the way, Hot Shot, I have something for you." she said.

"You do?" asked Hot Shot. "What is it?"

Whirl then took out the hacky sack Twilight had bought for her in Chapter 4 and gave it to Hot Shot.

"Oh, that's cool!" said Hot Shot as he looked it over. "What is it?"

"It's called a "hacky sack"." said Bumblebee. "Humans play a game with it where they kick it into the air. I actually learned the game with Russell during my time in Crown City. I can teach you if you want."

"Okay." nodded Hot Shot. "Can we play a game now?"

"Sure." smiled Bumblebee. "Just meet me in the Action Matrix."

"Got it." said Hot Shot. "You wanna play too, Whirl?"

"No thanks." said Whirl. "I want some time to rest after my adventure."

"I understand." said Hot Shot.

With that, Bumblebee and Hot Shot left for the Action Matrix for their game. Later that evening, Hot Shot and Whirl were lying down on the grass outside the Academy looking up at the night sky.

"I'm so glad you're back, Whirl." said Hot Shot.

"Me too." agreed Whirl. "I mean, I did like it in Equestria, but I like being with you and the others here at the Academy much more."

"I couldn't agree more." smiled Hot Shot.

Just then, Hot Shot spotted those same two stars he and Whirl were looking at in Chapter 4.

"There are those stars again." said Hot Shot.

"Yup." said Whirl.

But Hot Shot noticed something different.

"Is it just me, or does it look like they're much closer to each other than before?" he asked.

Whirl noticed it too.

"Hey, you're right." she said. "Do you think it could mean something?"

"Maybe." shrugged Hot Shot. "But anyway, we should probably get back inside. It'll be power-down time soon."

Whirl agreed, and the two bots got up and went back inside, Hot Shot's hand in Whirl's, and as they were each entering their stasis pods for the night, Whirl felt very happy to have made some new friends in Equestria and also to be back home where she truly belonged at Rescue Bots Academy.

The End

A.N. And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. My first Transformers crossover finished. Also, I'd like to let you all in on something about the previous chapter. The human band Whirl was watching are actually The Kings Of Peace, a fictional band comprised of caricatures of myself and my human versions of four Thomas & Friends/Railway Series characters: James Roman (my human version of James The Red Engine) on lead guitar, Edward Gresley (my human version of Edward The Blue Engine) on rhythm guitar, piano, keyboards, and percussion, Culdee Richards (my human version of Culdee, one of the Culdee Fell engines) on bass and guitar, and Stepney Angelis (my human version of Stepney The Bluebelle Engine) on drums. Their inclusion in this story is meant to be a "sneak peek" of a series I'm going to be doing on DeviantArt called "The Stories Of Equestria", in which they will be central characters (I'll explain why in a Journal entry on DeviantArt explaining the series). If you want to check it out, my DeviantArt username is DayDreamBeliever67. Overall, I hope you all enjoyed reading this story as I have enjoyed writing it.
