Jordan- 15
"Michael abused me"
When those three words had been spoken the squad had fell dead silent. It was almost an eerie feeling. Hank just viciously glared at the teen boy who had been cowering to his father, Jordan stood there folding her arms across her chest.
"What's wrong Michael? You look scared. Go on tell the truth, be the man you so claim you are. Tell the truth otherwise I'll make you" Jordan told him sharply.
"You will do no such thing!" Michael's father just about shouted, his hand not leaving her face.
She grabbed his hand and twisted it back painfully. "I told you, keep your hand out of my face otherwise I'd break it. Now back off slowly and I'll let go"
He slowly moved away from her as hold on him dropped, her gaze went back to her ex-boyfriend. "Now tell the truth or I'll do it to you" Before Michael's father could say anything her vicious glarer went back to him. "One word or movement from you and you'll be needing a cast, now keep your trap shut. Stop defending this little prick and let him grow up and learn from his mistakes. That's why he thinks he can keep getting away with the crap he does because he throws your name around. He runs to you because he's too much of a wuss to fight his battles, he bullies people to get what he wanted in life. That's not the way life works. The only way I got his puny ass to back off is because my brother caught him hitting me and beat the living hell out of him. Not to mention a few other people know about it to" She then looked at her father and saw the look intensify on his face, she then looked between Michael and his father. "And if I were you two, I'd seriously move away from my dad before he throws you both out. Literally"
"It wasn't anything big I did to you and you know it" Michael spoke up weakly.
"Really? Is that how you still wanna play this? Last chance to tell the truth before I make you and you don't want me to make you. Because you will not like me"
"That is the truth" His voice grew a bit.
"Fine. Have it your way, I gave you a chance" She went over to him and grabbed his broken arm and twisted it behind his back. "Tell the damn truth, NOW!"
"Alright! Alright! I use to beat you when we were together!"
"Keep talking and tell everything" She added pressure to his broken arm to make sure he kept talking.
Hissing in pain Michael managed to tell everything he did to Jordan, from hitting her, slapping, kicking, punching, cutting her, and threatening her family, he spilled everything up until Justin beat him down. Jordan just glared at him viciously not realizing tears were falling from her eyes as she remembered the abuse she suffered at his hands just a year ago.
"Jo Jo" came Hank's voice softly to her. "Let him go, it's alright" As furious and livid as he was inside, he didn't wanna show that around her and have her go off more. "Let him go sweetheart. It's alright"
Glancing at her father in tears she let Michael go she kicked him in the groin before walking away. She hated showing emotions in front of people it made her feel weak. More tears came from her eyes as she ran outside and to the side of the building where it lead to the back garage, the teen was wiping her eyes and placed one hand on her chest to hopefully help with her breathing.
For nearly a year she held that secret in and never thought she'd tell what would happen but when she saw her cousin with the little prick she had to say something otherwise another girl would be victimized by him and she refused to let that be Eva and be on her conscience.
"Are you alright sweetheart?" Came a familiar gruff voice. It was none other than her father.
Looking up she saw him with a worried and concerned. "I'm sorry dad. I'm sorry I never told you"
Not saying a word Hank simply opened his arms and Jordan launched herself into them hugging him tightly. The older father held his daughter close and protectively, he couldn't believe she had been abused and he had no idea. Jordan had always felt safe in her father's hold as if nothing or no one could hurt her.
Pulling his daughter back he wiped a tear that fell from her eye. "Why didn't you tell me? You know you could tell me anything" He kept his voice soft, not wanting her to get more upset.
"I didn't want you to do anything crazy. Michael said he would have killed Justin, Olive, and Daniel. I didn't want him to attempt or try anything with you"
"How did Justin find out?"
"I was getting ready for school one morning, he walked in before I could cover up the bruises and I just told him. I don't think I've ever seen him that angry before. He came to get me after school and he saw Michael hit me and everything happened so fast. I was on the ground and suddenly Justin's pounding the little prick into the ground, hadn't I pulled him off he would have killed Michael. After Justin beat him down I finally managed to break up with him. And before you ask there's no security footage, I had Mouse get rid of it so me and Justin wouldn't get in trouble" She dropped her head as she wiped more tears. "I wanted to tell you so bad but I didn't want you doing anything crazy or insane and I didn't wanna force that little bastard's hand and have him do something to one of you"
"You said others knew, who else?"
"Don't be mad at them dad it was my fault"
"Hey" His voice was still soft but it firmed. "This is in no way your fault. A lot of victims in domestic violent situations feel trapped, they feel like it's their fault. They feel powerless, voiceless, made to believe nobody will believe them. They feel trapped. Michael made you feel it was your fault, that nobody would believe you, he had you scared and trapped. None of what he did was your fault, it was his and his alone and for that he will pay the consequences. He won't get away with this"
"Yes he will, his father won't let him go to jail. He'll never learn his lesson. The only way he didn't get Eva was because I stopped him"
"Not by the time I get done with him"
"Dad please don't do anything crazy or insane to force his father's hand"
"Let me deal with them. Both of them"
"I'm sorry. I…I'm just so sorry"
He pulled her into a hug and kissed her head. "You never have to be sorry Jo Jo"
He took her back inside and left her with Trudy, he wasn't gonna have her near that little prick no more. And by the time he was done with Michael, the fear of God would be put into him. The older man stormed back back upstairs he was nowe livid. He had turned into a lion hunting his prey. Nobody, adult or child will get away with hurting his daughter.
The images of Jordan a year ago coming into his head when she was with this little weasel. How angry she would be, detached, withdrawn, scared. It was all coming back to him at once which had been fueling his anger more.
He casted a glance at Kevin because he knew if Antonio got hands on the kid he'd do just about the same if not worse for hurting Eva. "Kevin, put Michael here in interrogation"
"I don't think that's necessary" Michael's father spoke. "They were kids screwing around. We can put this whole matter behind us"
"Yeah not happening. You're son had the balls to attack my daughter and he just walks? Not a chance in hell"
Kevin took the young goy and escorted him to interrogation, Michael looked terrified and kept looking back at his father as if he was waiting to get out of this mess only Hank blocked the view from the father and son. This was going to get dealt with his way. Screw the police book and procedure.
"Sergeant, my son may have anger problems and I'll get him help but it doesn't need to go into a criminal investigation"
"Really? Is that before or after Michael threatened to come after my family a year ago and kill them if Jordan said a word?" He went to his face, anger and rage burning in his eyes. "My daughter doesn't lie and everything she told me I believe her. Not to mention she got your son to admit to it"
"He said it under duress, she got him to falsely confess. How many suspects have you gotten to falsely confess because of physical harm?"
"He confessed because he did it! Not to mention he assaulted another detective's daughter and Jordan witnessed that"
"You wanna say my son is baad news Sergeant, my son hasn't done drugs or drank. He's never gotten a girl pregnant-" Before he could finish Hank shut him up with a hard punch to the face knocking him down on the ground.
"My daughter isn't your concern nor will she ever be. Jordan's made mistakes and owned up to them, she's moved past them. She knows how to own up to what she did and not hide behind me, unlike your weak ass son who thinks it's alright to bully and abuse people to get his way. It stops now"
Hank moved away from his son and towards the interrogation room as Michael's father got off the floor. "You assaulted me! I have witnesses! I'll have you're badge Sergeant!"
Stopping at the door Hank looked to his team. "Did anyone see me assault him?"
"Not me, I had to take a call" Adam spoke first from his desk.
"Will texted me, I gotta meet him in a bit" Jay said next.
"I got a call from Laura, I gotta go pick up my kids" Antonio spoke up from his desk.
"Kev and I were looking at something for a case" Kim added from her desk.
"Trudy just paged me downstairs for something" Hailey went on.
"Don't look at me. I didn't see anything" Alvin turned his back.
Hank looked at the other man from across the squad. "You ain't got no witnesses to this so called assault and the next time my daughter or anything she does or ever did crosses your mouth again, were gonna have a much bigger problem. You want my badge? Fine. I don't care. My daughter comes before this job. Jobs come and go, your children are forever. If you actually pulled your head out of your ass and actually acted like a father to your son then he wouldn't be this way. I may work long hours but I made sure to raise Jordan right and taught her to fight for what's right. Your son will never know that because you let him do whatever he wants and pleases" He turned going to the interrogation room where Michael was.
Michael was just about shaking in the chair, fear and terror just about shot through his body when he heard the door open and he was face to face with a livid Hank and there was no sign of his father.
"Y-you're…your Jordan's dad…" Was all Michael managed to get out.
With a forceful slam of the door Hank walked over to the table and sat down. "I am. But for you I'm something much worse. I'm your worst nightmare"
