It was a late Friday afternoon. Storm is a young two year old female toddler. She had dark brown hair that fell into her green eyes, and soft feminine facial features with freckles that went across her nose. Storm was wearing a t-shirt with a fox on it and black leggings. The small child was getting into a toy box next to the TV. Playing on the TV was a documentary about aliens and the moon.
Sitting on the couch was an older man named Fox Mulder. Mulder stood around six feet tall and weighed about two-hundred pounds. The man had short brown hair, green eyes, and a constant five-o-clock shadow. Mulder was wearing a gray t-shirt and jeans. The older man looked down at his child and smiled.
Storm was mumbling away as she pulled out some animal figurines. She took a lion and a rhino, waddled over to her father, and set them on the couch next to him. Mulder smiled as he picked up the toys and held them. The toddler looked up at her father, and waddled back to her toy box. The older man leaned back on the couch, and continued to watch the TV.
"Dada, ball," Storm mumbled as she handed Mulder a baseball. Mulder took the ball and looked around. The toddler didn't have any sort of balls for toys. Storm grabbed onto her father's knee and looked back at the TV and watched it.
"Stormy, where did you find the ball," Mulder asked softly. Storm looked back up at her father.
"Ball," the toddler mumbled yet again. The older man gave his daughter a soft smile. Mulder was a stay at home father. After being on the run from the F.B.I. and settling his problems with them, he settled down, got married, and had a child. Soon the man heard his front door open.
"Hey, is anyone home?" Dana Scully called out as she entered the house through the side door. Scully was around five foot, four inches tall, and weighed about one hundred and forty pounds. She had shoulder length red hair, and blue eyes. Storm mumbled softly as she heard her mother's voice, Mulder grinned at his daughter. When Scully got no reply she sighed. The woman removed her coat, hung it up, and removed her shoes. She set her purse on the table in the entryway before walking to the living room.
"Hey, I'm home," Scully said happily when she saw her family. Storm looked up from her toys and mumbled to herself. The older woman brushed her hair behind her ear as she went over to her daughter and knelt down next to her. Mulder grinned as he watched the girls from the couch.
"Stormy, look Mama is home," Mulder said happily. Storm mumbled as she tried to ignore her mother and play with her toys. Scully sighed, looked up at her husband and gave him a small smile. Mulder returned his wife's smile. The couple both suspected their daughter was on the autism spectrum. Storm mumbled and lined her animals in a row before going back to her toy box to look for more animals.
Scully sighed as she stood up and sat on the couch with her husband. Mulder smiled, held his wife close, and kissed her on the side of her head. Scully looked over at her husband and smiled. When she first met Mulder she would have never imagined having married him, let alone having a couple kids with him. When they gave up William for his safety, Scully was devastated, and she knew Mulder was too. Mulder cleaned up his act soon after, bought the home they were currently living in, and settled down with Scully.
"Mulder, what do you want for dinner tonight," Scully asked without taking her eyes off their daughter. Storm meant the world to the couple, and even with Scully's fertility issues, she seemed to have little trouble conceiving their daughter. The toddler heard her mother talk again and looked right at her. Scully smiled at her daughter.
"I dunno. What do you want? You worked all day, I can make something or we can eat out," Mulder suggested. Storm lit up when she heard her father talk. The toddler quickly stood up and waddled over to her father. Mulder saw his daughter and quickly scooped her up as she approached him.
"Dada," Storm mumbled as she chewed on her hand. Scully quickly removed her daughter's hand from her mouth and gently corrected her. The toddler laid on her father and watched the TV as it droned on about ancient alien civilizations on the moon. Scully soon realized what was on the TV and gave her husband a look. Mulder grinned at his wife.
"Mama," Storm spoke as she reached for her mother. Scully smiled happily when her daughter finally wanted her attention. The woman quickly took the child from her husband and held her close. Storm cuddled up to her mother and played with her mother's necklace. The woman kissed her daughter and cuddled with her.
"Did you have a good day with Daddy?" Scully asked softly. Storm nodded and laid on her mother. Scully smiled as she held her daughter protectively. Mulder stood up and went to change the TV to cartoons for his child. Storm mumbled unhappily.
"Come here sweetheart," Mulder spoke as he tried to take his daughter from his wife. Storm cried and kicked Scully not wanting to leave her side. Scully quickly scolded her daughter about kicking and nuzzled her. Storm whined unhappily. Mulder gave his daughter a look.
"It's fine, Mulder. Let's go out to eat tonight. I can wear my work clothes. It's okay," Scully smiled at her husband. Mulder gave his wife an understanding look, even though he knew his wife was tired. When Storm had her meltdowns, they could become extreme. Mulder and Scully tried to avoid having those meltdowns when they could.
While Mulder went to grab his daughter's favorite toy, a stuffed fox, while Scully slowly stood up and walked to the entryway. Storm mumbled as she tried to cuddle up close to her mother as she was being carried. Scully gently sat her daughter down and grabbed her shoes. Storm quickly started to whine.
Mulder soon walked into the entryway and put on his shoes before picking up his daughter. Scully kissed her husband as she put her shoes on. Mulder grinned at his wife and walked out with his family to the car. Scully quickly walked ahead and opened the backdoor for her husband. Storm mumbled unhappily as her father set her in her carseat. The older man buckled his daughter up, and handed Storm her stuffed fox. The toddler quickly grabbed the toy from her father and held it close. Soon Mulder and Scully went to the front seat and drove to the restaurant.
A half an hour later, when the family pulled into the restaurant, Storm started to whine. Scully quickly tried to shush her daughter. Mulder parked the car and looked into the rearview mirror to see his daughter visibly upset. As soon as the car was shut off, Scully exited the vehicle, went to the backseat, and unbuckled her daughter. The toddler cried as she quickly held onto her mother. Mulder grabbed their diaper bag, and the family soon walked inside.
"Hi, can we get a booth for three please," Mulder smiled at the young woman who was working at the front of the house. The young woman smiled, and led the family to a booth. When they arrived, Scully sat her daughter on the inside of the seat and sat down next to her. Mulder sat across from the girls. The young woman handed out two menus, then handed Scully some crayons and a coloring page for Storm.
"Would you guys like anything to drink while you look over the menu?" the young woman smiled at Mulder and Scully. Mulder looked at his wife for a few seconds before speaking.
"Um, yeah. Can we get two diet cokes, and a white milk?" Mulder asked. The young woman nodded as she wrote down the drink order.
"Alright, two diets and milk. Your server will be back shortly with your drinks," the young woman smiled as she left the table. Storm mumbled softly as the woman left the table. Scully smiled at her daughter and showed her the crayons. The toddler grabbed onto her mother's shirt and pulled on it.
"Stormy, do you want chicken nuggets?" Mulder asked happily as he read the kids menu. Storm mumbled and looked up at her mother. The older woman smiled at her daughter and repeated what her husband just said.
"Stormy, do you want chicken nuggets?: Scully spoke softly. The toddler shook her head and pouted. The woman smiled, and read over the kids menu options. Mulder reached across the table and started to draw on the paper.
"They have mac 'n' cheese sweetheart, do you want that instead?" Scully spoke softly. Storm nodded as she focused on her father's drawing. The woman smiled as she read over the menu as her husband entertained their daughter. The toddler giggled happily as her father paid attention to her.
Soon after dinner, the family pulled into their old farmhouse. Storm was in the backseat mumbling away happily. Mulder shut off the car and unbuckled himself before stepping out of the car. Scully smiled and quickly followed after her husband. They were happy Storm was able to go out to eat without having a meltdown. It was very unusual for their daughter to stay calm like that while out in public.
"Hi sweetheart," Mulder spoke softly as he unbuckled his daughter's car seat. Storm mumbled and looked around for her mother. The older man gently picked up his daughter and held her close. Storm laid on her father and mumbled as he grabbed her stuffed fox before heading inside. Scully smiled and followed after her family.
"Dada potty," Storm mumbled as her father set her down as they entered the house. Mulder smiled as he looked at his daughter, and knelt down next to her. The young girl mumbled unhappily.
"Do you need to go potty or do you need to be changed, Storm?" Mulder spoke softly. The toddler mumbled and pointed at her diaper. Mulder helped his daughter remove her shoes before taking her hand and leading her into the living room. Storm quickly started to whine when she wasn't being changed fast enough.
"Hey be patient Storm," Scully spoke as she entered the living room a few minutes later with the diaper bag. Storm mumbled as she laid down on the floor and looked up at her parents. Scully knelt down next to her daughter, and undressed her before changing her diaper. The toddler whined at her mother.
"Hey Scully, b-a-t-h tonight?" Mulder asked as he sat on the couch. Scully wiped her daughter, and placed a new diaper on her before looking up at her husband. The toddler cried at her mother. Scully looked back at her daughter and nodded. The older man slowly got off the couch and headed upstairs.
"Dada," Storm mumbled as she pointed at her father as he left the room. Scully smiled as she picked her daughter up and held her close. The toddler whined at her mother. The older woman snuggled her daughter and kissed her. Storm grabbed at her mother's ears and pouted. Scully slowly stood up and headed upstairs.
As the two slowly approached the upstairs bathroom, Storm whined as she heard the bath water running. The toddler hated taking a bath. Scully shushed her daughter and entered the bathroom. Mulder was kneeling next to the tub, making sure the water was warm enough for a bath. Storm started to cry at her parents.
Scully kissed her daughter before she set her down on the floor next to her husband. Mulder gently held onto his daughter and undressed her before placing her into the bathtub. Storm cried at her father and splashed at the water wanting out. The older woman knelt next to the tub as well and rolled up her sleeves. Bathing Storm could easily be a two person job if she didn't want to cooperate. Soon Scully was washing her daughter up with soap.
Storm soon became restless and started to cry again. Mulder was trying to play with his daughter, to avoid a meltdown. The toddler was trying to push her parents away from her unsuccessfully. Scully looked at her daughter.
"Stormy, you're almost done. If you can be a good girl, you can sleep with us tonight, okay sweetheart?" Scully tried to reason with her daughter. Storm shook her head and splashed water at her father. Mulder quickly scolded his daughter for her behavior. Storm pouted and started to cry again. The older woman sighed and quickly washed her daughter's hair.
'Hey, hey. You're almost done Storm," Mulder spoke softly. The front of his t-shirt was soaked from his daughter splashing him. Scully smiled at her husband as she started to rinse her daughter's hair. Storm started to wail not wanting any of it. Mulder held his daughter as Scully rinsed her off.
"Alright all done," Mulder spoke as soon as his wife was done rinsing off their daughter. The older man collected his daughter out of the bathtub and held her close. Scully quickly collected a towel and wrapped Storm in it. Storm mumbled unhappily. The older man slowly stood up and walked into his daughter's bedroom.
While in the bedroom, Storm slowly started to calm down. Mulder kissed his daughter and showed her some attention while Scully collected some clean pajamas, and a new diaper. The toddler grabbed onto her father and cooed a bit. The older man smiled as he laid his daughter on her changing table.
Storm looked up at her parents and yawned. Scully quickly dried her daughter before putting a new diaper back on her. Mulder grinned as he played with his daughter, keeping her occupied as his wife got her dressed. Soon after Storm was all dressed, Scully picked her up and held her close. The toddler quickly hugged her mother tightly and tangled her hands in her mother's hair. Scully smiled at her husband and walked into their bedroom.
"Mama, fox," Storm mumbled as her mother set her daughter on the bed. The older woman quickly looked back to see her husband nod and head downstairs to look for their daughter's stuffed animal. Scully looked back at her daughter and smiled.
"Daddy is getting your fox sweetheart," Scully smiled as she finally started changing out of her work clothes. Storm slowly stood up and reached for her mother. The older woman quickly looked at her daughter and stopped her from walking off the bed.
"Hey, let me get dressed and then we can cuddle okay Stormy," Scully spoke softly. Storm hugged onto her mother and whined, not wanting to lose her attention. Soon Mulder walked into the room and looked over at his wife. Scully gave her husband a look, wanting help.
"Hey Stormy, look who I have," Mulder spoke softly as he sat on the bed next to his daughter. The man held up his daughter's stuffed fox and smiled. Storm mumbled, slowly let go of her mother and grabbed onto her father's t-shirt. Scully quickly got herself dressed and sat on the bed with her family.
"Fox," Storm mumbled happily as she hugged her stuffed animal close to her. Scully smiled as she picked up her daughter and held her close. Storm mumbled away, trying to talk to her mother, in her own language. The older woman smiled and kissed her daughter.
When Mulder saw his daughter was finally content, he got off the bed and changed into an old t-shirt and sweatpants. After getting dressed, Mulder walked back over to his family and knelt down next to the bed so he could look at his daughter.
"Stormy, it's night night time. Mama and I are sleepy. Are you sleepy?" Mulder asked as he grinned at his daughter. Storm shook her head and laid on her mother. Scully kissed her daughter, and scooted back onto the bed to get ready to lay down. Mulder quickly got up, walked around to the side of his bed, and laid down.
"Dada," Storm pointed at her father. Mulder smiled at his daughter as he yawned and pulled the blanket up over him. The toddler whined wanting to lay down with her father. Scully yawned as she laid her daughter down between her and her husband. The woman then quickly laid down with the rest of her family. Storm quickly crawled over to her mother wanting to be cuddled.
"Come here sweetheart," Scully spoke softly as she pulled her daughter close and held her against her body. Storm mumbled happily and gave out a few squeaks as she relaxed. Scully held her daughter close and cuddled her daughter as they both slowly fell asleep for the night.
