Early the next morning, Scully yawned as she reached out and felt for her husband on the other side of the bed. When Scully didn't feel anything, she opened her eyes and looked around. It looked like her husband already got up for the day. The woman sighed and slowly got out of bed herself.
After finishing up in the bathroom. Scully washed her hands, and walked out into the hallway and headed downstairs. When she got down to the bottom of the stairs the woman looked around, but didn't see her husband anywhere. After walking around the lower level of the house, Scully headed upstairs to her husband's office.
The woman quietly opened the door, and stepped inside. Mulder was sitting at his desk mumbling about something he was reading. Scully smiled as she shut the door quietly and walked over to her husband. Mulder heard the door close and looked up. When he saw his wife he grinned.
"Hey beautiful," Mulder grinned when he saw his wife walking towards him. Scully smiled as she pulled up a chair next to her husband. The older man looked back down at his papers he was looking at.
"Mulder. Remember we have to go to my mother's today. It's her birthday and she wants to see us for lunch," Scully spoke. Mulder looked at his wife and pouted. The woman gave her husband a look.
"Dana, I wanna do more research on this Cavour Monster. Did you know there have been skinwalker sightings within the last month or so, and they said the creature shapeshifted into a bear. A bear like your explanation Scully," Mulder rattled off. Scully rolled her eyes at her husband, but gave him a smile. The man was still pouting.
"First off, it's Scully, Mulder. Second off, it's my mother's birthday, and she wants to see us. You can do some research on this Caviar Monster when we get home," Scully scolded her husband.
"Cavour Monster, Scully," Mulder tried to correct his wife. Scully shook her head and kissed her husband gently. Soon, the couple heard their child crying from her bedroom. Scully pulled away from Mulder, and walked to her child's room.
"Good morning sweetheart," Scully spoke softly as she entered her child's room. Storm was sitting up in bed rubbing her eyes as she whimpered. The woman gently picked her child up and held her close. The toddler cuddled up to her mother and whimpered again.
The older woman walked over to Storm's closet, picked out an outfit for her daughter, then walked over to the changing table and laid her daughter on it. Storm mumbled as Scully kissed her gently. The toddler watched her mother as she got changed and dressed for the day.
That afternoon Mulder pulled into the driveway of his mother-in-law's house. Scully smiled at her husband, and rubbed his arm as Mulder shut off the car. The older man looked up in the rearview mirror and chuckled. Scully turned around to look at her child and smiled. Storm was fast asleep holding her stuffed fox close to her.
Scully slowly got out of the car, and opened the back door so she could retrieve her child. As the woman unbuckled her daughter, Storm whined as she slowly woke up. Scully smiled as she held her daughter close and snuggled her. Mulder smiled as he grabbed the diaper bag and walked with his wife up to the front door. Scully knocked on the front door and waited.
"Hey! Come in!" Margret Scully smiled as she opened the door. Maggie stood about five feet five inches, and had shoulder length dark brown hair, and blue eyes. Storm saw her grandmother and cried for her. Maggie picked up her granddaughter and held her close. The toddler quickly grabbed onto her grandmother's shirt.
"Hi Mom. I told you we would make it," Scully smiled as she and her husband walked into the house. Maggie smiled at her daughter and son-in-law. Storm whined and hugged her grandmother tightly. Mulder smiled at his daughter and brushed her hair out of her eyes. Maggie kissed her granddaughter and walked into the living room with the family.
"Here you go Storm," Maggie spoke softly as she set Storm next to the TV. Storm mumbled as Maggie removed Storm's jacket, and gave her a couple toys to play with. The woman smiled at her granddaughter before turning on the TV to some cartoons.
"Happy Birthday Mom," Scully spoke happily as she sat on the couch, Mulder grinned at the girls as he sat on a sofa chair near the couch. Maggie smiled and sat on the couch with her daughter. Storm looked up at her parents and mumbled. Scully smiled at her daughter. Storm mumbled and squeaked excitedly as she went back to playing with her toys.
"She's getting so big Dana. I'm so proud of you and Fox. You are amazing parents," Maggie praised her daughter and son-in-law proudly. Scully smiled at her mother happily. Storm was Scully's pride and joy. Maggie wrapped her arm around her daughter and cuddled her.
"Thanks Mom. I really appreciate hearing that," Scully mumbled. Maggie kissed the side of her daughter's head, and watched her granddaughter. Storm laid on her back and mumbled happily as she held up a stuffed orange cat. Mulder smiled as he sat back on his chair and watched his daughter.
An hour into visiting, Scully and Maggie went off to the kitchen to make dinner. Mulder got on the floor and laid with his daughter. Storm didn't realize her father was right next to her when she looked around. When she saw her father she became startled and cried at him unhappily. Mulder held his daughter close and showered her with some affection.
Storm cried at her father and smacked him. Mulder quickly sat up and scolded his daughter. Storm whined and tried to hide her face from her father. The older man pulled his daughter onto his lap and cuddled her. The toddler looked up at her father and whined. Mulder smiled at his child.
Scully was watching her husband and daughter from the doorway into the kitchen. Maggie slowly walked up behind her daughter to see what she was looking at, and smiled when she saw her granddaughter and son-in-law cuddling. Scully turned to her mother and smiled.
"She loves Mulder so much. I wish she was a normal child though. We suspect she's autistic or has learning disabilities. We still love her very much, but it's hard," Scully spoke softly. Maggie smiled at her daughter.
"If you guys ever need a break, you know you are more than welcome to drop Storm off with me," Maggie smiled at her daughter as she watched Mulder and Storm. Storm was reaching for Mulder's face and rubbing his stubble. Mulder was grinning at his daughter.
"Thanks Mom. I know. I appreciate it," Scully smiled as she returned to cooking dinner. Maggie smiled as she followed her daughter.
After dinner Storm was whining trying to get onto the couch with her mother. Scully smiled as she watched her daughter. The toddler grabbed onto Scully's pants and pulled on them. The woman helped her daughter onto the couch. Maggie smiled at her granddaughter. Storm hugged onto her mother and laid on her.
"Stormy, we have to go home soon," Scully spoke softly. Storm shook her head and pointed at her grandmother. Maggie smiled at her granddaughter.
"Storm, your Mommy has to work tomorrow. I'm sure you will be back to visit soon," Maggie explained to her granddaughter. Storm shook her head and tried to suck on her thumb. Scully removed her daughter's thumb from her mouth and gently scolded her. Storm grabbed onto her mother's shirt and whined. Mulder stood up and walked over to his family.
"Stormy, we need to say bye to Nana now," Mulder spoke softly. Storm shook her head and tried to move away from her father. Scully held her daughter and smiled. Mulder gently picked his daughter up and held her close. Storm pulled at her father's shirt and whined.
"Shh, you're okay," Mulder spoke softly. Storm grabbed her father's nose and squeezed it. The older man smiled at his daughter, happy she wasn't throwing a fit about going home. Scully slowly got off the couch, and helped her husband get their daughter ready to leave. As Mulder set his daughter on the floor in front of the front door, Scully grabbed her daughter's shoes, and put them on her.
"Mama, Dada," Storm mumbled happily. Scully smiled at her daughter and helped her stand up so Mulder could put Storm's coat on her. Maggie walked to the entryway and smiled at the family. Storm saw her grandmother, whined, and reached for her. Maggie walked over and picked up her granddaughter so Mulder and Scully could get ready.
"Nana," Storm mumbled happily. As Scully pulled on her coat she smiled at her daughter. Storm suddenly seemed to be very talkative. It was an unusual behavior for the toddler, but no one was discouraging it. Muder brushed his daughter's hair out of her eyes again.
"Love you," Storm spoke happily as she looked around at the adults. Scully smiled and looked up at her husband. Mulder was watching his daughter. Storm laid on her grandmother and talked a bit. Maggie kissed her granddaughter and looked at Scully. The toddler giggled happily.
Maggie smiled at the family as she walked them out to their car. The toddler mumbled as she looked around at everyone. Mulder walked ahead, and opened the back door for his mother-in-law. The older woman smiled at her son-in-law as she leaned into the car and set Storm in her car seat. Storm babbled as Maggie buckled her in and kissed her.
"There you go," Maggie spoke as she pulled herself out of the car. Storm saw her grandmother leave the car, and whined unhappily. Scully smiled at her mother.
"Thanks for having us tonight. It was nice seeing you again," Scully spoke as she hugged her mother tightly. Mulder smiled as he watched the girls. Maggie hugged her daughter back and smiled at her. After talking for a few more minutes, the couple climbed back into their car with their daughter, and drove home.
Late that evening Scully was in the bathroom with her daughter. Storm was holding onto her mother's pajama bottoms as Scully wet a washcloth. The woman knelt down next to her daughter and washed her face up. Storm cried unhappily at her mother.
"Hey you need your face cleaned, then it's night night," Scully spoke softly to her daughter. Storm shook her head and pouted. The toddler grabbed onto her mother's arm and tried to stop her. Scully kissed her daughter and wiped her face up.
"There, all done Stormy. All done," Scully smiled as she stood up and placed the washcloth on the bathroom counter. Storm pulled on her mother's pants again, pulling them down. Scully quickly grabbed onto her pants, and gently scolded her daughter. Storm rubbed her eyes.
"Aww are you tired? Come here sweetheart," Scully spoke softly as she picked her child up. Storm hugged her mother tightly as she laid on her. Scully kissed her daughter and walked into the hallway.
"Mama bed," Storm mumbled as she pointed to Scully's room. The older woman smiled at her daughter, still happy Storm was being talkative. The toddler mumbled as she played with her mother's necklace. Scully continued to walk into her daughter's room.
"No. Mama bed," Storm spoke again. Scully kissed her daughter and set her on her bed. The older woman handed Storm her stuffed fox, before grabbing a book to read to her daughter. Storm whined unhappily at her mother once again.
"No. Mama Dada bed," Storm tried to explain to her mother. Scully grabbed a book and laid down on her daughter's bed. The toddler cried at her mother. The older woman looked at her daughter.
"No, you have to sleep in your own bed, Storm," Scully tried to explain to her daughter. Storm pouted at her mother. The older woman pulled her daughter into her arms, and cuddled with her. The toddler whined as she snuggled into her mother, wanting attention.
"I love you Stormy. Mama loves you so much," Scully spoke happily. Storm mumbled as she kept playing with her mother's shirt and necklace. The older woman smiled as she spoke and sang to her daughter softly.
A few minutes later Mulder stepped into the doorway and watched his family. Scully looked over at her husband and smiled, before turning her attention back to their daughter. Storm was yawning, and trying not to fall asleep. Scully kissed her daughter on the forehead and pulled a blanket over her child. Soon Storm was fast asleep. As soon as Scully realized her daughter was asleep, she climbed out of bed and went to her room with her husband.
In the middle of the night, Storm slowly woke up and looked around. When she saw it was still dark out, the toddler slowly climbed out of bed, and hugged her fox close to her. When Storm didn't hear either of her parents she slowly walked out of her room and looked around.
Storm slowly waddled to her parents room and sat in front of her parents bedroom door and whined. The only noise Storm heard from behind the closed door was her father snoring. The toddler mumbled as she slowly stood up and pushed on her parents door. When the door didn't budge, Storm mumbled and slowly went downstairs.
When Storm got to the bottom of the stairs, the toddler looked around and cried. It was very dark in the house, and it made Storm uncomfortable. Storm quickly walked around and found one of the light switches. She reached up and turned the light on. The toddler quickly looked around the room.
Storm hugged her fox close to her before she waddled over to the kitchen and opened the fridge door. The child mumbled as she pulled some fruit out of the fridge, sat down, and started to eat it. After a short while, Storm heard some knocking at the front door. The toddler whined unhappily and tried to hide.
When the knocking stopped, Storm mumbled as she looked around again. The toddler continued to eat the fruit happily as she sat on the ground. Soon the child became full, she slowly stood up and waddled to the TV. The toddler turned on the TV and sat in front of it. Cartoons slowly showed up as the TV turned on. Storm mumbled happily as she watched the TV.
Upstairs Mulder groaned as he heard noises that woke him up. He laid there and listened, trying to hear what woke him up. When he realized the TV was on downstairs, he grumbled and sat up in bed. The man pulled on a t-shirt and yawned.
"Mmm, Mulder what's going on?" Scully yawned as she sat up in bed. Mulder looked over at his wife and smiled. Scully buttoned her shirt closed and rubbed her eyes.
"Um, the TV is on. I think Storm is awake right now," Mulder spoke as he pulled on his pants. The woman looked at her husband and smiled before climbing out of bed herself. Mulder looked over at his wife as she put her pajamas on.
"I'll go get her Mulder. She can sleep with us," Scully smiled up at her husband. Mulder started to speak, before Scully cut him off.
"Scully, I don't want her to get used to sleeping with us," Mulder tried to explain. Scully looked up at her husband and smiled. The older man gave his wife a look.
"Mulder, it'll be fine. Let me go get my baby. You can come with, but you need to be nice. I'm not in the mood for a meltdown tonight," Scully told her husband firmly. Mulder sighed and nodded. He knew he wasn't going to win an argument with his wife at that moment. The woman smiled and left her bedroom, with her husband close behind her.
Halfway down the stairs, Scully stopped and looked at her daughter. Storm was rocking herself as she hugged her stuffed fox close to her. The toddler was mumbling as she was fixated on the TV. Mulder rubbed his wife's back, encouraging her to continue walking down the stairs. Scully smiled at her husband and walked down into the living room.
"Hey sweetheart, what are you doing up right now," Scully spoke softly, as she approached her daughter. Storm looked up at her parents as she mumbled to herself. Mulder walked into the kitchen, picked up the fruit, and put it away in the fridge. The older woman gently picked her daughter up and held her close. The toddler grabbed onto her mother's shirt and whined.
"Let's go night night," Scully spoke softly to her daughter as she kissed her. Storm whined and looked up at her mother. Mulder walked up to his family and rubbed his daughter's back. The toddler laid down on her mother and rubbed her eyes. Mulder smiled at his wife.
Scully then slowly walked upstairs as she held her daughter close to her. Storm yawned and tried to hide her face in her mother's pajamas. The older woman rubbed her daughter's back keeping her calm as she walked into her bedroom. Mulder walked closely behind his family.
As Scully walked over to her bed, she kissed her daughter before laying her down in the middle of their bed. Mulder watched his wife and daughter as he walked around to his side of the bed. Storm looked up at her parents and whined unhappily.
"I'm right here sweetheart," Scully smiled as she laid down on her bed. The woman pulled her daughter into her arms and cuddled with her. Storm yawned again as she laid on her mother and listened to her breathing. Soon Storm was fast asleep.
"I love you Dana," Mulder spoke softly as he cuddled up to his wife. Scully smiled as the man pulled a blanket over his family and yawned.
"I love you too Fox," Scully replied softly as she nuzzled her husband. Mulder yawned again and was soon fast asleep. The woman laid there for a bit, soaking in the presence of her sleeping family, before dozing off herself.
