Later on in the week, Storm was just waking up in her own bedroom. The toddler looked around and mumbled unhappily, wanting her father. The young child slowly climbed out of bed and picked up her stuffed fox before waddling out of her bedroom.
"Dada," Storm mumbled as she slowly climbed down the stairs. When the toddler slowly got off the stairs, she slowly waddled into the kitchen. Mulder was standing behind Scully, holding and kissing her as she tried to cook breakfast.
"Mama?" Storm mumbled as she looked up at her mother. Storm wasn't used to Scully being home during the week, so she was unsure on why her mother was still at home. Mulder quickly let go of his wife, knelt down and picked his daughter up.
"Morning Stormy. Are you hungry?" Mulder asked his daughter happily. Storm played with her father's shirt and nodded. The older man kissed his daughter happily before placing her in her high chair. The toddler held up her fox and mumbled.
"Here you go sweetheart," Scully smiled at her daughter as she set a plate with a cut up pancake in front of her daughter. The woman then took the stuffed fox from her daughter and set it on the kitchen counter.
"Juice," Storm mumbled at her mother as she was given breakfast. Mulder heard his daughter, pulled some apple juice out of the fridge, and poured it into a sippy cup. As the older man handed it to his daughter, Storm quickly took it from her father and mumbled a thanks. Scully smiled proudly at her daughter for trying to use her manners.
Mulder grinned as he grabbed a plate of breakfast for himself, and sat at the kitchen table. Storm mumbled happily at her father. Scully quickly joined her family and leaned on her husband as she ate her food. When Storm saw her mother again, she made some noises showing her father she was a bit upset. The older man kissed his daughter and smiled.
"Mama doesn't have to work today, so she's home with us Storm," Mulder smiled at his daughter. Storm nodded and quietly ate her food. Scully smiled at her husband. She knew Storm was on a schedule, and sometimes any sort of change to her schedule could upset her.
"Dada, hold," Storm mumbled unhappily. Mulder sighed as he looked at his daughter. Storm was starting to tear up. The older man set his fork down as he stood up to collect his daughter. The toddler whined as her father picked her up and held her close before returning to his seat. Scully smiled as she brushed her daughter's hair out of her eyes. Storm cried at her mother.
"Hey, enough," Mulder scolded his daughter gently as he tried to finish his breakfast. Storm grabbed onto her father's arm as he ate. Scully sat back and finished her breakfast in silence. The woman was looking forward to the long weekend she took so she could spend time with her family. Storm mumbled and cuddled up against her father as he ate.
"Dada, movie," Storm mumbled at her father. Mulder gave his daughter a look. Scully smiled as she finished eating. The woman tried to take her daughter from her husband, but Storm started to throw a fit. Mulder grumbled as he scolded his daughter yet again. The toddler whined quietly as she settled down. The older man finished his breakfast.
"Storm, you need to knock it off. Mama wants to spend time with us so she's not going to work today," Mulder scolded. Storm quickly became quiet, she hated when Mulder became firm with her. The toddler tried to hide her face in her father's shirt as he held her close. The older man rubbed his daughter's back, calming her down.
"Stormy, Do you want to watch a movie?" Scully asked softly as she rubbed her daughter back. Mulder kissed his daughter as he moved her around on his lap, so she was facing her mother. Storm whined as she tried to hide her face in her hands. Scully smiled as she removed her daughter's hands away from her face.
"Storm, do you want to cuddle?" Scully asked hopefully. Storm looked up at her father with some uncertainty. Mulder snuggled his daughter as he smiled at her. The toddler mumbled softly as she rubbed her eyes. The older woman smiled as she carefully took her daughter from her husband. Storm whined and mumbled unhappily as Scully held her daughter close.
"I love you," Scully spoke softly as she cuddled her daughter. Storm mumbled unhappily as she saw her father getting up and collecting the dirty dishes. When Mulder went to grab Storm's plate, the toddler started to throw a fit again.
"Storm, knock it off. Use your words. What do you want?" Mulder asked softly. Storm shook her head unhappily. Scully took Storm's plate from her husband, and set it on the table in front of her. The woman took the fork, and slowly fed her daughter the rest of her breakfast. Storm mumbled happily as she ate.
That afternoon Storm was outside playing on the front lawn as Scully sat on an outdoor chair nearby. The toddler was giggling and making happy noises as she played with some plastic horses in the dirt. Mulder soon walked outside with some water for his wife. The woman looked up at her husband and smiled as she took the water from him.
"Thanks hun," Scully smiled as she kissed her husband gently. Mulder smiled as he pulled a chair up next to his wife and sat down on it. Storm saw her father and blabbed happily as he sat down. The older man smiled at his daughter. Scully reached over to her husband's hand and held it.
Soon a familiar Ford Taurus pulled into the driveway. Storm looked up at the car and quickly scurried over to her parents. Scully smiled down at her daughter as Mulder stood up and walked in front of his family. The toddler whined at her mother.
"Hello!" Matthew smiled as he stepped out of the car. Storm quickly tried to hide between her mother's legs as the man approached the family. Mulder gave a half-hearted wave as Matthew walked over to the family. Robert soon exited the car and joined Matthew as he approached the family.
"Hey I stopped because Robert was hoping to use the bathroom, and I wanted to see if you were interested in any of our cleaning products, assuming you talked it over with the wife," Matthew smiled at Mulder. Mulder grumbled, becoming uncomfortable with Matthew. Scully smiled at the men.
"Go ahead Robert, you know where the bathroom is," Scully smiled at one of the men. Robert nodded his head and headed inside. Storm whined at her mother, as the strange man entered their home. Scully picked up her daughter and held her close. The toddler quickly tried to hide her face from Matthew.
"Um, sorry. I haven't had a chance to talk to my husband about the cleaning products. I work a lot, and when I'm home, I try to spend time with my daughter," Scully said as she talked to Matthew. Storm mumbled unhappily and looked over at her father. Mulder smiled as he carefully took his daughter from his wife, and held her close. The toddler quickly grabbed onto her father's shirt and tightened her grip.
"Oh it's okay! We can always stop by later," Matthew smiled as he saw his friend exit the house. Storm cried unhappily as Robert rejoined the family. Mulder shushed his daughter and looked at his watch. It was way past his daughter's naptime. Scully smiled and nodded.
"Sorry to interrupt, but it's my daughter's nap time, and we should head inside," Mulder said firmly. Storm laid on her father and tried to hide her face. Matthew nodded as he smiled at the family.
"That is perfectly fine. We'll see you guys later. Have a wonderful rest of your day," Matthew spoke before he and Robert returned to the car. Mulder grumbled as he watched the two salesmen drive away. Scully approached her family and smiled at her daughter. Storm was grabbing onto her father's shirt tightly.
"Let's go inside," Scully spoke softly. Mulder looked at his wife and nodded before he slowly walked into the house. Storm snuggled her father as she yawned. The older man rubbed his child's back as they headed inside.
"Stormy it's nap time," Mulder told his daughter with a firm tone to his voice. Storm mumbled unhappily as she rubbed her eyes. Scully gently took her daughter from her husband and kissed her. Storm cried and reached back for her father. Mulder smiled at his child.
The toddler quickly started to throw a fit wanting her father again. Mulder sighed as he took his child back from his wife. Storm quickly calmed down and laid on her father. The older man smiled at his wife before he headed upstairs with his child. Storm yawned as she laid on her father and closed her eyes. Mulder rubbed his daughter's back as he entered her room. The man walked over to the bed and laid Storm down. Storm mumbled as she rolled over to face the wall, and was soon fast asleep.
Later that evening Storm was whining unhappily as she was looking in the kitchen for her stuffed fox. Scully looked up from her book and watched her daughter. Storm was reaching up to the kitchen counter looking for her toy. The woman smiled as she returned to her book and continued to read. The toddler looked over at her mother and mumbled.
Storm looked back over at the kitchen counter before slowly walking over to the couch. The toddler mumbled as she laid on the floor and looked under the couch. Scully looked at her child as she sat at the edge of the couch and watched her. The toddler mumbled sadly when she didn't see her fox under the couch.
As Storm sat up, she saw her mother watching her. Storm mumbled unhappily before she slowly got off the floor and waddled over to her toy box. Scully sighed as she sat back on the couch and opened her book, but didn't read it. The toddler whined as she went through her toy box, still not finding her stuffed fox. Storm looked back at her mother and whined unhappily. Scully sighed.
"Stormy, what's wrong sweetheart?" Scully asked softly. Storm sat down and pouted. The older woman smiled as she slowly sat down on the floor next to the couch. The toddler watched her mother carefully as Scully sat on the floor. Storm whined as she started to dump her toy box out.
"Storm, are you making messes?" Mulder sighed as he walked down the stairs. Storm sat there and looked at both her parents. Scully looked at her husband before looking back at her daughter. The toddler looked distraught. Mulder slowly walked over to his child.
"Fox," Storm mumbled unhappily, finally trying to tell her parents what she wanted. Scully smiled as she got off the floor and looked around for the fox. Storm saw her mother get off the floor and quickly followed her around trying to help. The older woman looked down at her daughter before kneeling next to her.
"Stormy, I don't know where your fox is. He's missing right now, but we will find him okay. Can we play with your frog or penguin instead?" Scully asked hopefully. Storm shook her head and looked up at her father wanting his help. Mulder sighed as he smiled at his daughter. Soon the older man was looking around, trying to find the stuffed fox with his wife.
"Storm, Mama is right, I don't see your fox. He'll turn up later okay. Will you play with me?" Mulder asked happily. Storm shook her head, only wanting her fox. The older man smiled at his daughter. Mulder slowly walked over to his daughter's toys as he picked them up and put them back into the toy box.
"No. Mine," Storm spoke as she quickly walked over to her father. Mulder smiled as he sat down next to his daughter. The toddler quickly went back to her toy box and went through it again. The older man grinned at his daughter. Storm quickly grabbed out a stuffed horse and hugged onto her father.
"Aww Stormy. I love you," Mulder smiled at his daughter. Storm mumbled happily as she cuddled with her father as she looked at the TV. The older man nuzzled his daughter before he realized what time it was.
"Stormy, Daddy wants to watch the baseball game. Will you watch it with me?" Mulder smiled at his daughter. Storm looked at her father and grabbed onto his face mumbling happily as she played with his nose. Scully smiled as she watched her husband and daughter.
Mulder kissed his daughter as he grabbed the remote and changed the channel off of the cartoons to his baseball game. The toddler pushed on Mulder's nose and whined. The older man gave his daughter a stern look. Scully stood up and tried to collect her daughter from her husband.
"No. My dada," Storm cried at her mother. Scully stopped and watched her daughter. Mulder sighed and slowly stood up with his daughter before walking over to the couch and sitting on it. Storm laid on her father and mumbled softly. Scully returned to her family on the couch and sat on it, before cuddling up with her husband.
Mulder looked at his wife and grinned at her. Scully looked up at the older man and smiled. Mulder leaned in and kissed his wife gently. Storm quickly pushed on her father's face and whined with a tone of jealousy. The older man quickly scolded his daughter. Storm quieted down and laid on her father.
After the baseball game, Mulder was in the kitchen, warming up some milk for Storm. He was obviously in a good mood since his team won the game tonight. Storm was sitting in front of the TV while Scully was upstairs taking another look for Storm's favorite stuffed animal.
When the bottle was done warming up, Mulder walked over to his daughter and gently picked her up. Storm mumbled unhappily as her father held her and shut off the TV. When Storm saw the bottle her father was holding she tried to reach for it. Mulder smiled at his daughter and walked upstairs.
"Hi Storm," Scully smiled as her husband walked into their bedroom with their daughter. Mulder smiled at his wife as he set Storm down on their bed. The toddler laid back and mumbled happily. Scully looked at her daughter as she smiled and changed her into a new diaper and pajamas. The toddler mumbled softly as she watched her mother.
Mulder smiled as he gently kissed his wife before he went over to his bed, and got changed into his pajamas. Storm whined as she watched her father. Scully smiled at her daughter as she zipped up Storm's pajamas. Once Storm realized she was dressed, she rolled over and crawled to her father's side of the bed.
"It's night night Storm," Mulder spoke happily as he climbed into bed. Storm sat up and pointed to her bedroom. The toddler looked around at her parents since they didn't usually let her sleep with them. Scully smiled as she changed into her pajamas, shut off the bedroom light, and climbed into bed with her family. Storm mumbled as she looked at her parents, before taking another look around the room for her fox.
"Aww hi sweetheart," Scully spoke softly, as Storm slowly crawled up close to her mother. The older woman wrapped her arms around her daughter and held her close. Storm mumbled happily as her mother held her close. Mulder smiled as he cuddled up close to the girls. Storm looked up at her father and mumbled at him.
"Night night Storm," Mulder smiled at his daughter. Storm nodded and cuddled up against her mother, placing her head against her chest. The toddler yawned as she listened to her mother's heart beat as she relaxed. Scully nuzzled with her husband as they all slowly fell asleep together.
