The next afternoon Storm was playing in front of the TV while her parents were getting ready to run errands. The toddler mumbled happily as 'Finding Nemo' played on the TV. Storm sat back and watched the TV as he held some plastic horses. Soon the toddler went back to playing after watching the TV for a few moments.
"Hi sweetheart," Scully smiled happily as she walked down the stairs. Storm looked up at her mother and mumbled happily. The woman grinned when she saw how happy her daughter was to see her. The toddler quickly got off the floor and went over to her mother. Storm mumbled and reached up for her mother.
"I love you," Scully spoke happily as she picked up her daughter. Storm whined happily and laid on her mother. The older woman smiled as she kissed her daughter. Storm smiled as she played with her mother's necklace. Scully watched her daughter as she felt herself fill up with pride.
"Hey Dana, where did you go?" Mulder asked as he walked down the stairs himself. Storm mumbled happily as she pointed at her father. Mulder saw his family and grinned as he walked towards them. Storm laid on her mother and started making a lot of happy noises as she looked up at her parents. Mulder smiled as he brushed his daughter's hair out of her eyes.
"Love," Storm mumbled happily as she tried to tell her parents she loved them. Scully smiled at her daughter. Mulder grinned at his wife, happy to see their daughter in a very good mood today. The toddler mumbled happily as she hugged her mother.
"Ready to go to the mall Dana?" Mulder asked happily. Scully looked up at her husband and nodded with a smile. Storm reached for her father happily. The older man picked his daughter up, and held her close. Storm mumbled away happily as her father held her close. Mulder kissed his daughter as Storm made her noises.
"I am handsome," Scully said as she smirked at her husband. Mulder grinned at his wife as she picked up their diaper bag and headed to the side door they used to come in and out of their house. Storm mumbled happily as her parents got her shoes and coat on her. The adults put their shoes on as well, and headed out the door.
While at the mall, Storm was grabbing onto her mother's shirt as she stood next to her while Scully looked at some blouses. Scully smiled down at her daughter as Storm looked around. The older woman picked out a couple blouses and looked around for her husband. When she didn't see him, she took her daughter's hand, held it, and walked around the store.
"Mama," Storm mumbled happily as she looked up at her mother. Scully looked down at her daughter and smiled as she looked for her husband. The toddler happily walked with her mother as she mumbled away making happy noises. When Storm saw her father, she whined and pointed at him.
"Hey Stormy," Mulder grinned as he walked over to his family. Storm pulled on her mother's hand and mumbled excitedly. Scully smiled at her daughter, happy that Storm was in an unusually good mood. Mulder knelt down next to their daughter and hugged her. Storm mumbled happily as she cuddled up to her father.
"Are you ready hun? I got some new shirts for work," Scully spoke to her husband. Mulder nodded as he picked up his daughter and held her close. Storm grabbed at Mulder's face and mumbled as she felt his stubble. The older woman smiled at her family as they walked up to the checkout counter.
"Dana, do you wanna walk over to the t-o-y s-t-o-r-e after this?" Mulder smiled at his wife. Scully nodded slowly. She thought they could at least try to get a replacement for their daughter's missing fox. The older man held his wife's hand as they walked to the front of the store. Storm laid on her father and yawned. Scully smiled at her daughter as she paid for her new clothes. The family then walked to the toy store.
"Hey Stormy, look where we're at," Mulder spoke softly as he walked into the toy store. Storm mumbled as she sat up and looked around. Scully smiled happily at her daughter as Mulder set his daughter on the floor. The toddler grabbed onto her father's pants and mumbled. Mulder took his daughter's hand, held it, and walked around the store.
"Stormy, do you want a new toy?" Scully asked her daughter happily. Storm mumbled and looked up at her mother. The older woman smiled at her daughter. Storm was unlike other children and didn't usually get excited over the thought of a new toy, where other children would go nuts if they were asked. Mulder smiled down at his daughter.
"Toy?" Storm mumbled quietly as she looked up at her parents. Mulder knelt down next to his daughter and smiled. The toddler grabbed onto her father's t-shirt and looked up at her mother. Scully also smiled down at her daughter. Storm mumbled happily and laid on her father.
"Yes, Storm. Let's go pick out a toy sweetheart," Mulder smiled at his daughter. Storm nodded and slowly pulled away from her father. Mulder stood up and smiled at his daughter. The toddler grabbed onto her father's hand and pulled on it, trying to lead her father around. The older man grinned and followed his daughter. Scully smiled as she slowly followed behind her family.
"Look Storm. They have a gray horse," Mulder grinned as he showed his daughter the stuffed gray horse. Storm mumbled as she looked up at her father. Scully smiled as she walked over to her husband and leaned against him, as she watched her daughter. The older man tried to hand his daughter the horse. Storm shook her head and looked around.
"Storm, do you want a cow?" Scully smiled as she pulled a stuffed cow off the shelf. Storm looked up at her mother and mumbled softly. The older woman knelt down next to her daughter and gently placed the cow in her arms. Storm looked the toy over and looked up at her parents. The toddler whined as she reached up wanting to be held.
"Alright, do you want the cow sweetheart?" Scully asked softly as she picked her daughter up. Storm nodded and laid on her mother. Mulder gently took the cow from his daughter and brushed her hair out of her eyes. Storm whined and turned towards her mother. As Scully smiled at her husband, she noticed a stuffed fox on the shelf behind some other stuffed animals. She slowly pulled it out and handed it to her husband.
"Alright Scully, ready to go?" Mulder asked as he held the stuffed cow and fox. Scully nodded and looked down at her daughter. Storm was yawning and closing her eyes.
"Yeah. It's Storm's n-a-p time too," Scully smiled at her husband. Mulder nodded and walked up to the checkout. Scully happily followed her husband as Storm tried to fall asleep. The older man looked at his wife and grinned.
As the family were walking out of the mall, Mulder spotted a couple people familiar to him. The man tried to avoid eye contact with them, but the two men spotted Scully and Mulder. When Mulder saw the men walking over to them, he grumbled. Scully looked at her husband, and then glanced over to where he was looking.
"Oh hey guys," Scully spoke softly as Matthew and Robert walked up to them. Mulder gently tapped Scully's shoe with his own trying to show her he didn't want to talk to the two men. Scully glared at her husband. The older man quickly looked away from his wife.
"How are you guys? Didn't think we would see you out and about," Matthew grinned at the family. Scully smiled and nodded softly. Storm yawned and whined as she tried to move around in her mother's arms.
"Storm, it's okay sweetheart," Scully spoke softly to her daughter. Storm yawned and slowly settled down. The older woman kissed her daughter happily and looked back at the two men.
"Sorry, it's her nap time right now. We should get going," Scully smiled at the men. Matthew returned Scully's smile and looked over at Storm. Mulder clenched his jaw, trying to stay calm. He didn't like strangers near his daughter.
"It's only 1:30pm. It seems early for a nap. Rough night?" Matthew smiled softly at Scully. Scully gave Matthew a surprised look. She didn't like her parenting skills being questioned. The toddler mumbled unhappily again.
"No. Um, she's been on this schedule since she was a baby," Scully replied with an annoyed tone. Matthew smiled, and nodded. Robert glanced down at his watch trying to look unbothered, but he was watching Mulder and Scully very closely.
"Oh that's very understandable. She's adorable. Well, our lunch hour is up. We should be heading out. It was nice to see you guys again," Matthew smiled as he buttoned up his suit jacket. Scully nodded as she tightened the grip on her child, as the men slowly left.
"Let's go, Scully," Mulder looked at his wife. Scully nodded and closely followed her husband out to their car.
After the family got home, Scully laid her daughter on the couch, and covered her with a blanket. Storm mumbled and yawned as she was tucked in. The older woman smiled at her daughter, before helping her husband bring in their purchases. Mulder grinned at his wife, as they brought in their purchases.
"Hey, Mulder, can I talk to you about something?" Scully asked her husband softly. Mulder stopped and looked at his wife. Something was obviously bothering his wife.
"Of course you can Scully. What is it?" Mulder looked at his wife. Scully sighed as she sat down on one of the kitchen chairs, and watched her daughter as she slept on the couch. Mulder sat down on a chair next to his wife.
"I have a bad feeling about Matthew and Robert. I don't know what it is, but I just do. Maybe it was Matthew's comment about Storm sleeping, You know how protective I am over Storm," Scully sputtered. Mulder scooted next to his wife and held her close. Scully laid against her husband and sighed.
"It's okay Scully. I don't like them either. Next time they stop by, we just won't answer the door," Mulder smiled at his wife. Scully nodded and slowly got off the chair. Mulder sat back and watched his wife as she walked over to their daughter and knelt next to her. The older man watched as his wife brushed the hair out of their daughter's face.
"Dana, do you want to take Storm and we can all lay down in our bed?" Mulder asked with a smile. Mulder tried so hard to discourage co-sleeping, but he knew his wife was a bit upset, and she loved laying in bed with her daughter. Scully nodded as she slowly picked their daughter up. Storm yawned and grabbed onto her mother tightly as Scully walked upstairs with her daughter. Mulder smiled and slowly followed his wife after locking his front door.
Scully smiled as she laid her daughter down on their bed. The woman changed into something more comfortable before she laid down as well. Mulder soon walked into the room and smiled at his wife. Scully had their daughter cuddled up to her as she slowly sang to her. Mulder quickly changed into some sweatpants and laid down with his family.
"Let's try to rest up, maybe we can go to the park or something later," Mulder smiled as he pulled a blanket over his family, and cuddled up close to Scully. Scully nodded as she snuggled her husband. Mulder looked at his wife and brushed her hair out of her face before kissing her on her forehead. The woman relaxed as she sighed happily as she slowly fell asleep.
"Ma," Storm mumbled excitedly as she pushed on her mother's face. Scully mumbled as she yawned and looked up. When the toddler saw her mother was awake, she smiled at Scully and looked over at her father. Mulder was sitting up reading a book about The Russian Sleep Experiment. Storm slowly waddled over to her father and pulled at his book. The older man smiled at his daughter.
"Mulder, what are you reading," Scully grumbled as she slowly sat up. Mulder grinned as he shut his book and set it on his bedside table before leaning over and kissing his wife. Scully kissed her husband and rolled her eyes. Storm hugged onto her mother and mumbled as Scully raised her eyebrows at her husband.
"It's nothing Scully. Just some information about an experiment that the Russias performed during World War Two about sleep deprivation," Mulder grinned at his wife. Scully rolled her eyes, knowing that there was probably some new conspiracy her husband was trying to research. Storm slightly headbutted her mother before trying to play with her necklace.
"Oh yeah. How is your Cavour Monster thing going?" Scully questioned her husband. Mulder grinned proudly over the fact his wife remembered what that was. The woman raised her eyebrows at her husband once more.
"Um, it's good. You might be right Scully. It might just be a bear," Mulder said, trying to distract his wife away from the conversation they were having. Storm mumbled happily and looked over at her father as she pulled on her mother's shirt. Scully gave Mulder a look showing him, she knew he was trying to change the subject before looking at her daughter.
"Hi Stormy, How was your nap," Scully asked happily. Storm mumbled as she played with her mother's hair. The woman smiled at her daughter as Storm tried to talk to her mother in her own language. Mulder smiled at his daughter before getting out of bed and stretching.
"Daddy," Storm mumbled happily as she looked up at her father. Mulder stopped and looked at his daughter. It was the first time Storm called him that instead of 'Dada'. Scully sat up more and watched her daughter. The toddler slowly waddled over to Mulder and reached for him. Mulder picked up his daughter and held her close.
"Hi Stormy," Mulder spoke happily as he held his daughter close. Storm mumbled happily and laid on her father. Scully slowly got out of bed, and headed out of their bedroom. The toddler pointed at her mother and looked up at her father. Mulder smiled as he followed his wife downstairs.
"Here you go kiddo," Mulder spoke softly as he sat his daughter in front of her toybox. Storm slowly got up and started to pull toys out of her toybox. Scully smiled as she went to make a fresh pot of coffee for her and her husband. Mulder looked up at his wife and grinned.
"Cow," Storm mumbled at her parents, wanting to know where her new toy was. Mulder looked over at his wife. Scully smiled as she closed the lid on the coffee maker, and grabbed the bag with the two stuffed animals inside of it. Storm slowly walked over to her mother.
"Look Storm. Here is your cow. Daddy and I also bought you a new fox," Scully smiled as she knelt next to her daughter. Storm sat on the floor and looked up at her mother. The older woman sat next to her daughter and pulled out the toys. The toddler grabbed for the cow, but ignored the fox. It wasn't identical to the one she lost, so she didn't want it.
"Stormy, we tried to find another fox for you. Go ahead, take it," Scully smiled softly. Storm mumbled and slowly took the new fox from her mother and looked it over. The new one was a fox that laid down, and looked like a regular fox. Storm's old fox sat up and was orange, with a white snout and cheeks. Mulder smiled at his family.
"Hey Storm. Do you want to get McDonald's then go to the park?" Mulder asked his daughter. Storm looked up at her father and watched him. Scully brushed her daughter's hair out of her eyes again. The toddler grabbed onto her mother's hand and whined.
"Hey, hey. It's okay, Storm. Do you want to go play at the park?" Mulder asked again softly. Storm settled down and nodded. Scully smiled as she got off the floor and went to make two cups of coffee. Storm looked up and watched her mother as she got some coffee.
Mulder smiled as he turned the TV on for his daughter. He found some cartoons before standing up and walking into the kitchen to grab one of the cups of coffee from his wife. Storm mumbled as she turned back to watch the TV. Scully smiled as she sat at the kitchen table with her husband. Mulder grinned at Scully as he drank his coffee. Before long the family was getting ready to head out for the evening.
