RAW is WAR: 28/9/1998

RAW is WAR was live at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. 24 hours were removed from WWF Breakdown: In Your House, and everyone was wondering what was going to happen about the WWF Title situation. Last night, the Undertaker, Kane and the Bladewolf pinned Austin at the same time. Austin lost the title, but it was unclear who was the WWF Champion now.

Right now, after RAW had returned from the commercial break, Vince McMahon, his lackeys and a couple of cops come to the ring to crown the new WWF Champion. McMahon has to choose between the Bladewolf, Kane and the Undertaker. A brand new WWF title belt is displayed in the center of the ring in a glass case.

"And now, Ladies and Gentlemen, the moment we have been awaiting—" Vince is cut off from speaking as the audience interrupts him with furious boos. "We're about to present the most coveted prize in the whole game to a worthy WWF Superstar. This ceremony is a solemn one, to be conducted with dignity and respect." The audience doesn't believe a word and boos wildly. " As these dignitaries stand before you tonight, it is indeed our honor and our privilege to bestow the World Wrestling Federation title to the worthy Superstar. With that in mind, let me firstly introduce to you: the Phenom, the Undertaker!"

The Undertaker's theme plays to a pop before the Lord of Darkness comes out and starts making his way towards the ring. Once he was in the ring, Vince continued.

"And secondly, let me introduce to you... The Bladewolf!" He announced.

OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!

The Devil's Wolf plays and the lights dim to a mix of blood red and dark blue before fire explodes on the stage and out comes the Bladewolf with the WWF Intercontinental Championship around his waist. He had ditched the coat and the metallic Predator-style mask he had worn since his arrival last year. Bladewolf enters the ring and stands across from the Undertaker.

"And now, Ladies and Gentlemen, may I introduce to you: KANE!" Vince introduces.

Kane comes to the ring.

"There's no question, Undertaker, that you, Bladewolf and Kane deserve to be the WWF Champion." Vince said. "The three of you single-handedly covered Stone Cold Steve Austin for the Championship. The three of you, who have had tremendous battles between the two of you-"

Stone Cold Steve Austin drives a Zamboni, an ice resurfacing machine for ice hockey stadiums, through the backstage area and past the police to the ring. The fans cheer Austin when he drives to the ring and almost knocks over the ring with the Zamboni. Austin jumps over the cops on McMahon and beats him up. The cops can finally tear Austin down from McMahon and handcuff him. The audience screams wildly for Austin and booing at the mass of security guards who finally pull the ex-champion out of the ring and bring him backstage. The Bladewolf, Kane and the Undertaker stay behind.

Austin is shown being escorted backstage by the police and Austin looks at the camera. "I ain't through with you, Vince! I ain't through with you! Not yet by a long shot!"

Austin and McMahon continue to abuse each other until the show is interrupted by a commercial break. After the break, McMahon is back in the ring, along with the Brothers of Destruction.

"Before we were so rudely interrupted I was about to present the WWF Championship. However, if you recall, the deal was, Undertaker, Bladewolf and Kane: You would get the title shot as long as you kept Stone Cold Steve Austin away from me. But, three times, THREE TIMES in less than a week, Austin had brutally attacked me." Vince said. "So let me say this: You didn't live up to your end of the deal, I'M NOT GONNA LIVE UP TO MINE! You're gonna have to FIGHT for it! On the next pay per view, October 18th, you three are gonna battle it out for the WWF championship! Whether you like it or not! Oh, by the way, since you three can't seem to keep Stone Cold out of your business and mine—Good, I'm gonna put him in—Austin is gonna be the guest referee!"

The crowd cheers at this as Undertaker, Bladewolf and Kane don't look happy.

"And, Stone Cold—Austin, I just hope, somewhere, your cell mate is telling you all of this right about now, because I wanna be there to watch him suffer the indignity of having to count one of you three monsters to the WWF Championship. However, so that everyone here in this arena is not cheated, so that everyone at home watching RAW gets their money's worth, then in this ring tonight, you will see these brothers in a six-man tag team match against three individuals: Ken Shamrock, Mankind and The Rock!"

The crowd cheers for all three of these names.

"And maybe, just maybe, you can get it right. I'd like to wish you the best of luck. You know why? Because I think the three of you are gonna need it. Because, as far as I'm concerned, it's like dealing with the handicapped: one's physical, one's is mental, the other is both! Good luck to you both!"

McMahon wants to go, but the Undertaker holds him back. "You need to watch your ass! Because, the next time you get out of line with either one of us, you're gonna be the one handicapped. And that I will promise!"

Undertaker releases Vince and turns his back to him while adjusting an elbow pad. However, Vince gives Undertaker two middle finger only for the Undertaker to whip around and catch him red-handed, causing Vince to pale. Bladewolf, who also saw what Vince did, delivers a haymaker to the boss right out of nowhere. Undertaker starts assaulting Vince with a fury of rights while the Bladewolf and Kane stood by and watched. Undertaker got up and that's when the younger brothers started attacking Vince with stomps and Undertaker joined in.

Bladewolf spots Briscoe and Patterson coming and exits the ring with Kane to scare them off while Undertaker locks in a kneebar on vince's left leg, almost trying to break it. Undertaker releases the hold and exits the ring as Bladewolf drags Vince out. The brothers then lift the steps off and place Vince's leg on the bottom half. Undertaker raises the steps... AND BRINGS IT DOWN ON VINCE'S ANKLE!

Vince screams in pain as Undertaker drops the stairs and leaves with his brothers.

The main event had come. The Brothers of Destruction will take on Mankind, Ken Shamrock and the Rock. In the arena, Ken Shamrock's theme hits to a not very warm reception from the people of Detroit as the world's most dangerous man comes out.

"Ken Shamrock not getting a very warm reception here, King, in the Motor city." JR said.

The bell rings as Tony Chimel begins introductions. "The following six-man tag team match is scheduled for one-fall with TV time remaining. Making his way to the ring, from Sacramento, California, weighing in at 243 lbs, the world's most dangerous man... KEN SHAMROCK!"

Shamrock enters the ring and his theme dies down before Mankind's theme hits and out comes the deranged personality of Mick Foley. to a more better reaction than Shamrock got.

"And his tag team partner, he weighs in at 287 lbs... MANKIND!" Tony Chimel announced.

"mankind, Shamrock and the Rock will be teammates." JR said. "They were opponents last night at Breakdown."

"You think they're gonna be able to co-exist?" Jerry asks.

"Oh hell no." JR said just before Shamrock starts attacking Mankind. "And here they go!"

"Oh no!" Jerry said. "There's your answer!"

Mankind and Shamrock keep fighting, even with the referee trying to break it up. Despite the fact they are partners tonight, neither man had forgotten the fact they were opponents last night nor has Shamrock forgotten being smacked with a steel chair by Mankind. Just as Shamrock knocks Mankind out the ring with a heavy punch, the Rock's theme hits to a much louder pop than Shamrock or Mankind got as the People's Champion starts making his way to the ring.

"Oh this is an ovation." JR said.

"Well Mankind and Shamrock were just fighting, what do you think they'll do to the Rock? he was the one who was the winner last night!" Jerry reminded.

"The Rock, the number 1 contender for the WWF Title." JR said.

As soon as the Rock enters the ring, Shamrock goes right after him and they start fighting. There was no sign of the Brothers of Destruction yet as the Rock and Shamrock continued to fight each other, then Mankind joined in on the fray just before the Undertaker's gong sound hits and the arena's lights go out. The pyro explodes before the Brothers of Destruction make their way out to the ring.

"And their opponents, first, from Death Valley, weighing 310 lbs... THE UNDERTAKER! And his partners... KANE AND THE BLADEWOLF!" tony Chimel announced.

"The brothers, the Undertaker, Kane and the Bladewolf, will be against each other at Judgment Day in three weeks in Chicago." JR said. "Steve Austin will be the referee. On that night, we will decide and determine who the WWF Champion truly is, thanks to Vince McMahon."

The Brothers of Destruction enter the ring and start attacking their opponents. Undertaker takes on the Rock, Kane takes on Shamrock and the Bladewolf takes on Mankind as the referee calls for the bell to officially begin this match.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

Bladewolf delivers stomps to Mankind in the corner as Kane tosses Shamrock out the ring and the Undertaker keeps up his assault on the Rock. Kane aids Bladewolf in stomping away on Mankind before they kick him out the ring with Shamrock and the Undertaker irish whips the Rock towards them, only for the Rock to be floored with a double big boot by the Bladewolf and Kane.

"What a double boot by Kane and the Bladewolf." JR said. "the Rock is own his own in the ring with the brothers."

"And Mankind is fighting Shamrock out here!" Jerry said as he saw the two men fighting each other.

"This may be over swiftly, aggressively and suddenly." JR said.

The Bladewolf and Kane get out onto the apron in their corner while the Undertaker starts working over the Rock's left arm, driving his shoulder into the Rock's. Undertaker then yanks on the arm before backing into the corner, climbs up and walks along the rope with cat-like agility.

"Oh, look at this. Amazing agility." JR said.

Undertaker jumps off... AND HITS OLD SCHOOL! He grabs the Rock and brings him over to his brothers before ramming his face off Kane's boot, then tags in the Big Red Machine who comes in as Undertaker holds the Rock and drives his boot into the stomach of the People's Champion. Undertaker gets out on the ring apron as Kane lands a punch on the Rock, gets him into another corner and starts choking him there with a hand around the Rock's throat. Kane eventually releases and uppercuts the Rock.

Kane Irish whips the Rock across the ring into the opposite corner, runs to hit a turnbuckle clothesline but the Rock lifts his feet in time to kick Kane in his masked face. The Rock then comes out the corner with a series of rights to the Big Red Machine.

"the Rock fighting back." JR said as the Rock runs, bounces off the ropes, ducks a clothesline from Kane and hits one of his own on Kane. "And Kane goes down with a clothesline!" The Rock then tags in Mankind who comes in and Kane attacks his former tag team partner. "And there's a tag. mankind and Kane, forer WWF Tag Team Champions."

"And now they're fighting each other." Jerry said.

Kane kicks Mankind in the stomach, then hits a right hand that sends Mankind into the corner but the deranged personality of Mick Foley comes back with a boot of his own to Kane's stomach, then rams his head off the top turnbuckle, getting Kane in the corner this time. Mankind then starts unloading with a fury of rights on Kane.

"Mankind drilling Kane with those stinging right hands right to the head." JR said before Kane grabs Mankind by the throat and overpowers him, reversing their positions. "And now Kane, simply overpowering the near 300 lb Mankind."

Kane grabs Mankind by his hair and rams his head off the corner where his brothers were and tags in the Bladewolf. the Demon Wolf comes in as Kane holds Mankind's arms up, allowing Bladewolf to land a huge right hand to the ribcage of Mankind before Kane gets out onto the ring apron.

"And now, the Bladewolf is going to town on Mankind." JR said as Bladewolf drives his knee into the stomach of Mankind. "We saw these two have a battle with each other a few weeks back, and what a fight that was, King."

"Yeah, it could equal the fights Mankind has had with the Undertaker." Jerry said.

"Bladewolf, the current Intercontinental Champion, had held the title since May. He has held that title for 133 days." JR said as Bladewolf unloads with a fury of lefts and rights on Mankind in the corner. "And look at the Bladewolf go! A fury of lefts and rights!" Bladewolf finishes his assault with a huge uppercut that echoes. "Oh! What an uppercut by the 310 lb Intercontinental Champion."

Bladewolf Irish whips Mankind off the ropes, goes for a right but Mankind ducks and makes a tag to Shamrock before he rushes at Bladewolf who nails a right hand on him. Bladewolf hits Shamrock with a right, but Shamrock shakes it off and hits Bladewolf with a right hand before dropping Mankind with a right hand and stomps away on him. Bladewolf spots the Rock attempting to enter the ring and clobbers the People's Champion before backing off and watching as the Rock enters, taps Shamrock on the shoulder and clotheslines him.

"What the hell?!" JR exclaimed. "The Rock just nailed his own partner."

the Rock exits the ring and gets back onto the apron as Bladewolf walks over and goes for the pin on Shamrock.

"One!"

"Two!"

"Thr-!"

Shamrock kicks out at two.

Bladewolf flips his hair back before dragging Shamrock over to his corner, tagging in the Undertaker. Bladewolf holds Shamrock down, allowing Undertaker to deliver some stomps to the chest of Shamrock before Bladewolf gets out onto the apron as the Lord of Darkness continues to assault Shamrock. Undertaker pulls Shamrock to his feet, twists the left arm before dropping Shamrock with a kick to the face before going for the cover.

"And there's the cover." JR said.

"One!"

"Two!"

"Thr-!"

Shamrock kicks out again at two. Undertaker pulls Shamrock to his feet and tags in Kane who comes in and kicks Shamrock while the Undertaker joins Bladewolf on the ring apron. Kane Irish whips Shamrock off the ropes and floors him with a huge clothesline before he goes for the cover.

"One!"

"Two!"

"Thre-!"

Shamrock kicks out at two again.

"Almost over there." JR said. "Shamrock, he's a tough son of a gun."

Kane pulls Shamrock to his feet and lands a big right hand, knocking Shamrock against the ropes but Shamrock comes right back with a punch of his own and starts throwing punches at Kane only for the Big red Machine to land a right of his own, making Shamrock stumble back into the corner. Kane lands a quick right uppercut to Shamrock, then Irish whips him off the ropes, goes for a right but Shamrock ducks it, bounces off the ropes and takes Kane down with a dropkick.

"The dropkick. The dropkick by Shamrock." JR said as Shamrock runs, leaps... AND TAKES KANE DOWN WITH A HEADSCICCORS! "Boom!"

Kane sits up right away and gets to his feet, but Shamrock makes the tag to Mankind who comes in and works Kane over onto the ropes before he bounces off the ropes, runs... AND HITS THE CACTUS CLOTHESLINE! Both men fall out the ring and Mankind gets back onto the apron, runs... AND NAILS A CANNONBALL ON KANE!

"Oh my!" JR exclaimed. "A cannonball by Mankind on Kane!"

Mankind gets to his feet but gets taken down with a clothesline by the Bladewolf as the Undertaker walks over. The two brothers pull Mankind to his feet and ram him into the steel steps

"Listen to that impact." JR said.

Undertaker continues to punish Mankind before tossing him back into the ring where Kane scoops him up and hits a powerslam in the middle of the ring before he gets out onto the ring apron and climbs to the top turnbuckle.

"Uh oh." jerry said. "Watch this, JR."

"Kane up on top." JR said. "Watch this agility."

Kane jumps off... AND NAILS THE FLYING CLOTHESLINE! Kane crawls over and hooks the leg.

"One!"

"Two!"

"Thr-!"

Mankind kicks out at two.

"No he didn't get it." JR said. "Near-fall situation there."

Kane gets to his feet, pulls Mankind to his and drags him over to his corner where he tags in the Bladewolf who comes in and brings a forearm down across the back of Mankind. Kane lets him go and gets out onto the apron as Bladewolf kicks Mankind in the side of the head.

"That WWF title match last night was the most controversial match for a title I think I've ever seen in a Fatal 4-Way environment." JR said.

"Right, and it was still up in the air tonight." Jerry said. "Who was the Champion? Was it the Undertaker? Was it the Bladewolf? Was it Kane? And we still don't know."

Bladewolf gets Mankind in the corner and unloads with a fury of lefts and rights, landing a huge right that makes Mankind stumble into his corner. Bladewolf rushes forward but Mankind ducks and Bladewolf clobbers Shamrock.

"Oh! Bladewolf aiming for Mankind but gets Shamrock instead." JR said.

Bladewolf turns and clobbers mankind, kneeing him in the stomach before dropping him with an uppercut when Shamrock attacks him from behind. Bladewolf whirls around and punches Shamrock in the face before tossing him out the ring, then tags in Kane before going after Shamrock, the two fighting up the walkway.

"Bladewolf and Shamrock are just beating the hell out of each other!" JR said.

"There's a match still going on!" Jerry exclaimed as Bladewolf uppercuts Shamrock, sending him stumbling against the entrance-way. "Are they just gonna turn this six-man into a normal tag team?"

"they aren't the legal men, so they can do whatever right now!" JR said as Bladewolf and Shamrock disappear backstage.

Back in the ring, the match continues with Kane tagging in Undertaker who headbutts him out to the floor for Kane to whip him knees-first into the steps. Taker joins Mankind on the floor and tries to hang him with a TV cable. Kane then whacks Mankind with a chair. Not a cringeworthy chairshot, but it's still a dang chairshot. Back inside, Taker gets two. Ross reminds me there's no 45 year olds playing the air guitar in the WWF. Kane cuts off a tag from Mankind as the brothers continue their work. Mankind hits a desperation Double-Arm DDT. CAN MANKIND MAKE THE TAG? YES HE CAN. Hot tag to the Rock, DDT to the Undertaker gets two. The People's Elbow connects for 1-2-NO! Kane makes the save.

Shamrock comes running back and makes the tag. Shamrock corners Kane and punches the crap out of him until they both go to the floor. Now the threesome seem to be working on the same page. Shamrock gets tagged in and although he eats a big boot, he catches Taker running the ropes and finds the ANKLELOCK. Unfortunately, Kane again makes the save. Tag to Rock, he flubs the Hurricane DDT on Taker.

Bladewolf comes running down and jumps onto the ring apron, reaching out and Undertaker falls... AND MAKES THE TAG!

"And here comes the Bladewolf!" JR exclaimed.

Bladewolf rushes in and goes for a clothesline but the Rock ducks it and Bladewolf whirls around only to be hooked, lifted up... AND PLANTED WITH THE ROCK BOTTOM!

"Rock Bottom! Rock Bottom!" JR exclaimed as the Rock hooks the legs. "Now the cover!"

"One!"

"Two!"

"Three! Ring the bell!" The referee called.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

The Rock's theme plays to cheers from the fans as the Rock exits the ring while the Bladewolf sits up and glares after the People's Champion. RAW is WAR soon went off the air...

And that's it for this chapter folks.
