The Alien Hero of Teyvat
Chapter 4 – Let's Blow This Joint!
The following morning, there was a massive gathering in the area surrounding the headquarters for the knights of Favonius. In addition to the knights, there were also some residents and adventures from the adventurers' guild who came to listen to the speech that Acting Grandmaster Jean was going to deliver regarding the aftermath of the storm terror attack.
"Residents of Mondstadt. Please accept my sincere appreciation for your presence here tonight and for your faith in this city. When our city was under attack by Stormterror, you all remained resilient and hopeful. I applaud your courage and perseverance." Jean went on to deliver the initial portion of her speech, and as soon as they heard it, the audience couldn't help but applaud.
"Our Honorary Knight, along with two other people who asked to remain anonymous, played a vital role in foiling Stormterror's attack." Jean proceeded with her briefing. She didn't reveal Diluc and Venti's identities since they specifically asked her not to because they didn't want the unwanted attention that would come from this.
"However, I must address an apparent misunderstanding at the present time. The dragon's true identity is Dvalin, the Howling Hurricane of Mondstadt. He unintentionally attacked Mondstadt after becoming corrupted by the Abyss Order. Because this was done against his will, please don't hold it against him or smear his reputation. Nor should we forget the many heroic acts he performed in the past, such as protecting our city from Durin's wrath." When people in the crowd heard the news, they immediately began talking to one another. They couldn't help but feel guilty that they had ignored such a significant figure in Mondstadt's history. Everyone has reached a consensus that they will pay tribute to Dvalin at the subsequent festival that takes place.
"And to wrap up this part of my speech, A few of you have probably heard whispers of a person who can change into various creatures. I'm here to set the record straight and confirm that the rumor is accurate. He's a legendary hero in his own country, and he was simply passing through when he heard about the conflict and wanted to help. His actual name and appearance are being kept under wraps. However, the hero did say that if you ever encounter him untransformed, he's willing to say hi and introduce himself." Jean concluded the portion of her speech that concerned Ben, and the audience was particularly interested in this detail after learning that it was real.
Earlier, she discussed with the hero the best way to handle his hidden identity during a conversation they had. Ben told her that it was okay to tell everyone about him because it's tough to disguise his transformations and ultimately everyone will discover out what's going on. Nonetheless, the alien hero did advise Jean to remain cryptic for the time being because he needed some quiet time away from the prying eyes of eager fans. Additionally, he cautioned her to ensure that the Omnitrix remained a mystery to the general populace at all times.
"That will be all, and thank you. May the Anemo Archon protect you." By laying her palm on her chest and moving gently away from the audience, Jean signaled the end of her speech and officially concluded it. The residents of Mondstadt then began to speculate about the shapeshifter, questioning where he was and what form he was currently using.
In the center of the road was Stefan, a traveling merchant who was hoping to make sales to clients who happened to be in the area. Unfortunately, while he was in the middle of his travels, he was ambushed by a group of treasure hoarders who attacked and stole from him. The thieves were already making off with his possessions, and he was about to witness his entire life flash before his eyes. It was a stroke of good luck for him that a few of saviors arrived just in the nick of time to aid him in fending off the treasure hoarders.
"Just what the heck is that?! A giant chicken?!" One of the treasure hoarders yelled as his face was suddenly seized by the talons of a hawk and tossed away from him in the direction of his fellow comrades.
"This should settle the age-old debate over which came first, the chicken or the egg." A rooster-hawk alien made the remark. He has sharp black claws protrude from his toes, hands, and arms. Green eyes, yellow beak, brown feathers. Mohawk and belly are white-brown. He wears a green mask, striped belt, and black briefs. Furthermore, the Omnitrix emblem is prominently displayed on the vest hooker of the strap vest he sports.
This alien is known to Ben as Kickin Hawk, and the DNA sample he obtained from the Omnitrix was of an unknown species. The Omnitrix originally obtained him from Liam's genetic material during an outbreak. Due to his physical superiority, agility, and mastery of martial arts, this alien is known as Ben's best foot-to-head combatant.
"You know, when I first saw that alien in your Omnitrix, I thought it would have been hilarious to see you as a chicken. Right now, though, you are pretty scary." Amber remarked as she eliminated a few of the treasure hunters with her bow and a few rocks that had been imbued with Pyro Vision.
"Oh, my aliens... what can I say? They're completely unpredictable." Kickin Hawk unleashed a barrage of kicks on the remaining treasure hoarders, while Amber offered her assistance from a long-ranged distance. Following a few more kicks, some punches thrown in by the huge chicken, and a few flaming rocks to the face, practically all of the treasure hoarders have been knocked out at this point.
"Retreat!" Realizing that they were fighting a hopeless battle, the leader of the remaining treasure hoarders in the group gave the order for their remaining troops to throw smoke bombs as they made their grand escape from the ferocious martial arts chicken and the outrider.
"And they said I'm the chicken." Kickin Hawk cracked a quip while standing with his arms crossed, and Amber responded by chuckling a little bit at what he said.
After determining that he was no longer in any danger, Stefan emerged from his hiding location to express his gratitude to Amber and Kickin Hawk for their efforts. "What a relief you were there to rescue me! Who knows what might have happened to me if neither of you had shown up."
"It's no sweat for the Knights of Favonius, after all!" Amber smiled brightly and gave Stefan the thumbs up sign.
"And I've never expected a giant chicken to be among your ranks." Stefan then turned his attention to the enormous alien standing directly in front of him and regarded it with a sense of wonder.
"It's more accurate to say that I resemble a cross between a hawk and a rooster. Not only that, but I could join the ranks or change into someone else entirely." Kickin Hawk replied back to Stefan, who now looked confused after hearing his last sentence.
"I'm glad that you're now safe, sir, and I hope you don't mind, but I would like to ask if you've ever seen a small red kid that's energetic and most probably set off a bomb?" Amber made the executive decision to switch gears in order for them to make progress in their mission. Earlier this morning, Jean tasked Amber with finding their Spark Knight: Klee, as she snuck out again without her permission, and she's worried about the trouble she could potentially cause. Of course, the Outrider gladly accepted the mission, with Ben tagging along for the ride.
"In all honesty, I suspect that I may have. I was so afraid of this mage with a Pyro shield that I had to go into hiding. Then I peeked around the corner and saw a little red girl, a blonde girl in a dress, and a floaty thing all chasing after it." Stefan thought back to the crazy goose chase that he had witnessed earlier.
"Where did they seemingly take off to?" The question was posed by Kickin Hawk to Stefan. The vendor then indicated in which direction he had last seen them, and both Kickin Hawk and Amber expressed their thanks before running in the direction indicated by the merchant.
"Based on what he said, I guess Klee got to meet Lumine and drag her off on her adventure." In the middle of running Kickin Hawk eventually timed out and reverted back to Ben.
"Let's only pray that Klee hasn't wiped off the fish in Starfall Lake." Amber's mind raced with worrying feelings as she recalled the aftermath of the previous bombing, which included a large number of charred and dead fish.
The duo started looking for their Spark Knight and their Honorary Knight as soon as they could. Ben started to get a bit impatient after a few minutes of searching, and he thought about utilizing Wildmutt to speed things up. However, Amber reassured him not to worry about it because her tracking talents are among the best in the field. She did, in fact, find a number of scorch marks scattered throughout the grass, and they followed those traces all the way to their conclusion, where they discovered, on the slope of a hill, that there was an unexpected gateway leading into a domain.
They came to the conclusion that there was a possibility that the people they were finding had previously entered this location, and as a result, they made the decision to enter as well in order to determine whether or not their hunch was right. As soon as they entered the domain, they were welcomed by a landscape consisting of a misty light blue background with stone constructions floating all around them.
"So this is what a domain looks like." Ben turned his head and looked around as he recalled reading about this days ago while using Brainstorm to expand his knowledge of Teyvat. Even though Ben had witnessed many more magnificent sights back home, this was still quite a sight to behold in its own right.
Amber began the search from the hole in the wall next to the entrance of the domain using her binoculars. While she was looking through them, she noticed something unusual. She could see someone using Anemo while explosions were happening. "Over there, I foresee a battle breaking out! We might not make it if we try to go the traditional path. Ben, do you think you can save us some time by flying us there?"
"I got it." Ben turned on the Omnitrix and flipped through the visuals until he spotted the silhouette of Stinkfly. Afterwards, Ben slammed the Omnitrix a little harder than he normally would, and a green glow surrounded him completely.
Instead of becoming Stinkfly, he became a gorilla-like alien life form constructed primarily of red and yellow blocks with a few blue ones. Black studs and lines cover his entire body. He uses the enormous size of his hands and clumsy proportions of his feet to keep himself upright. Lastly, the Omnitrix emblem can be found in the center of his chest.
This is Bloxx, the DNA sample taken from a Segmentasapien by the Omnitrix. He was the very first new alien that Ben was able to unlock using the new Omnitrix that he had acquired. Bloxx is able to transform his body into a variety of different things due to the fact that his physiology is similar to that of building blocks. These transformations including walls, domes, block cannons, and other objects.
"Uh, Ben. There's a good chance that alien can't fly. Unless it has some superpower I'm totally missing out on." Amber took a peek at the alien and thought that it resembled a plaything for children. On the other hand, Bloxx was annoyed that he had been given the wrong alien.
"Oh, come on, Omnitrix! I really wanted a flyer for this! Fine, I can improvise." Bloxx then took a step forward before transforming into the form of a massive catapult.
"His power is an actual shapeshifter!" Amber gazed at Ben in this shape with the awe and curiosity of a child, and she realized that this form of Ben is actually ideal for children since he is a literal building block.
"Get on." Bloxx told Amber, and the outrider proceeded to ascend the catapult and then onto the bucket that would serve as the payload.
"How confident are you that this will make it across the platform?" Amber was keen to know about the matter, and despite the fact that she would enjoy doing this outside all the time because it would be exciting to combine it with her glider, she was worried about what may occur if she fell into the depths of the domain.
"Just put your faith in me, and I'll take care of everything. If I fail, then just activate your glider while I do my best to save you." Bloxx assuaged Amber's concerns by reassuring her that he would be successful in making the shot.
"Ok, alright, I trust you in thi—AHH!" Amber was sent at a high speed across the platform where the fight is taking place when Bloxx suddenly activated the catapult and did so without any prior warning.
"Wind blade!" Lumine has created a vacuum vortex in her palm, which is causing damage to the Hilichurls as it consumes them and draws in more of them. They were all blown backwards and away from her by the explosion that was caused by the final stage of the attack.
"Boom!" A young girl yelled gleefully as she unleashed a torrent of bombs, which obliterated the Geo Samachurl's rock spike structures and sent him flying away with scorch marks on his body.
The girl had pale complexion, light red eyes, and an elf-like appearance. She has elf ears, blonde pigtails, and a cowlick. Her outfit included a red coat with darker red embellishments and keyhole shapes in the hem, a white dress and shorts, a pom-pom scarf, gloves, knee socks, boots, and a brown messenger bag. Dodoco, a fluffy, woodland animal-shaped pom-pom, is attached to this bag. And she wears a red newsboy cap with a clover-and-feather pin.
This was Klee, a member of the Knights of Favonius known as the Spark Knight. Entrusted to the knights by her parents at a young age, Klee is like every other child in the world: curious and full of excitement. The vast quantity of explosives in her arsenal as well as her passion for anything that goes bang helped her gain her title. The only drawback is that Jean is under a great deal of stress as a result of the damage reports and the nearly extinct fish population in Starfall Lake.
"It looks like they went all kaboom, Miss Honorary Knight." Klee completed her turn and beamingly glanced at Lumine and Paimon as she congratulated them on a job well done.
"Paimon thinks that's the last area remaining." Paimon showed everyone in the group a staircase that led to a door that unexpectedly opened. The members of the party then proceeded to climb the stairs, where they were met by a Mitachurl armed with a Geo shield and two elemental Hilichurl shooters, one of which was Cryo and the other Electro.
"Klee, I'll quickly take out the Hilichurl shooters while you use your bombs to break that Geo shield of the Mitachurl." Lumine swiftly devised a strategy and pulled out her Dull Blade while she did so.
"Roger that Miss Honorary Knight." At the same time that Klee was getting her bombs ready to put their plan into action, she cheerfully gave Lumine a salute.
"Incoming!" An alert from up top caused everyone to turn their attention to the sky, where they caught sight of Amber charging straight at them. The Outrider gave the Cryo Hilichurl a devastating dropkick from above, which sent him flying towards his Electro Hilichurl shooter partner and knocked them both out cold in the process.
"Amber?!" Everyone yelled out in surprise because none of them had anticipated that their outgoing outrider would arrive to help them.
"This is just an Outrider dropping in, hoping you guys don't mind." While Amber was still down on the ground, she looked up at them and smiled with self-assurance. They were soon stopped by a loud roar, and when Amber turned around to look at the Mitachurl that was standing in front of her, her previously confident smile turned into a trembling one.
As the Mitachurl was about to begin to bash Amber with his shield, she was saved when a rapid-fire assortment of blocks began hitting the shield of the Mitachurl. After that, the Geo shield broke as a direct consequence of the wear and strain caused by the assault. As the Mitachurl turned to find its assailant, a massive red block of a fist landed on its head, knocking him out cold.
"Did anyone order an assortment of building blocks?" Bloxx remarked as he assisted Amber in getting up off the ground.
"How did you get here fast?" Amber posed this inquiry because she noticed that Bloxx was unable to fly, and the only possible answer she could come up with was that he constructed a bridge for himself.
"Extendo arms. Convenient to use for swinging around." Bloxx illustrated his point by stretching his arms as high as 30 feet in the air. When everyone saw this power, they appeared to be impressed. Although Lumine and Paimon were not surprised to see Ben, a specific Spark Knight's eyes lit up with excitement when she met the alien hero for the first time.
"Oh! It's you, the monster-changing guy that the knights have been talking about." Klee rushed over to Bloxx and began poking and feeling his hands as soon as she got close to him since it seemed like he was a toy.
Klee's zeal caused Bloxx to chuckle, and he responded by giving her a light head pat. "That's right, kid. But don't call them monsters; call them aliens. I take it you're Klee."
"Spark Knight Klee of the Knights of Favonius, reporting for duty! ...There's some more, but uh, I forgot. I'm not so good at remembering..." Klee introduced herself with pride, and Bloxx could not deny that she did a good job of looking adorable.
"So what's the name of this form, Ben? And is your personality the same or did it change also?" Lumine asked, as she was curious to know what this alien does.
"The name's Bloxx. And don't worry, I'm still the same me." Bloxx uttered his own name while pointing at himself.
"Bloxx. It's probably because you're basically just blocks and can form anything you want." Amber ventured a wild guess as to the meaning behind the origin of his name.
"Too simple. Paimon's changing his name to Build-A-Guy!" Right away, Paimon took great pride in changing his name to something that exactly Ben 23 would make. And Bloxx mumbled something to himself about transforming into Rath and launching an angry rant directed towards Paimon.
"I don't know. Klee likes Bloxx better." Klee innocently said as her reason was it was easier to remember that name. After hearing that statement from Klee, Bloxx celebrated his victory by clenching both of his fists.
"Anyway, why are you all here?" Bloxx went on to ask the real question here.
"Yeah Klee, Jean was worried about you when you suddenly left. Why are you in a domain with the Honorary Knight?" Amber queried Klee, and the Spark Knight appeared to be a little alarmed at the prospect that Jean was seeking for her. However, when Amber revealed that Jean was merely worried for Klee's well-being, the Spark Knight let out a sigh of relief.
"A meanie stole Klee's treasure, and we're here to ask it back nicely from him." Bloxx and Amber were given a condensed version of Klee's explanation of the events that took place earlier.
"Hmph. You followed me. I must say, I'm impressed. And you've brought along some backup, including that shapeshifter." Their discussion was abruptly terminated by an unknown voice. As soon as everyone turned around, they noticed a Pyro Abyss Mage floating over with what appeared to be an enraged stuffed animal in his hand.
"That's him!" Klee pointed the direction of the mage, and Lumine readied her sword to put an end to this pursuit once and for all.
"Hey! Give back Klee's treasure or else!" Amber let out an angry shout directed at the mage as she readied herself to draw her bow.
"Or else what?" The Abyss Mage just taunted them without any fear whatsoever.
"Or else I'll give you a good thrashing and make you step on these blocks. Trust me, it isn't exactly pleasant." Bloxx immediately began to pound his knuckles together as he prepared to engage the mage in combat for stealing from a child.
"Oh, the human propensity for gossip has given us everything we could ever want... The most potent treasure in all of Mondstadt was in your small red friend's possession, we learned. I now possess that priceless artifact. Nothing you can do can change this! As it stands, your most prized possession will be the cause of your downfall!" The Abyss Mage was becoming more and more cocky, and it was starting to get on everyone's nerves—everyone, that is, other than Klee, who appeared to be terrified.
"Oh really? What's the worst can that stuff toy do, kill me to death with its cuteness?" Bloxx's response to the mage's taunt was to engage in some verbal sparring of his own.
"No, no, wait! D–don't touch it!" Klee frantically swung her arms and pleaded the mage to reconsider making such a fatal error.
"Why? Isn't that just a stuff toy." Paimon turned his attention to Klee, wondering aloud why the latter had become so anxious.
"It's a giant bomb." When Klee whispered the news to everyone, their eyes immediately widened in response.
"Hah! What a worrywart you are, realizing your predicament at last!" The Abyss Mage did not pay attention to Klee's warning as he was getting ready to mess with the treasure.
"You fool! Just give it back to us, or else you'll die!" Bloxx made a valiant effort to issue a final caution to the ignorant mage, but to no avail.
"Now, what have we here — a flame symbol? Mwuhahaha..." When the treasure started to shine brightly, Bloxx's only option was to rush over to his companions and transform himself into a block dome so that he could shield them from the impending explosion caused by the bomb. The treasure then finally exploded, resulting in the instantaneous death of the Pyro Abyss Mage.
As soon as he had the impression that he was no longer in danger, he gradually transformed back into his normal form and stood next to his companions. When the knights glanced around, they saw that there was no trace left of the Abyss Mage and that everything had been destroyed. Klee's eyes started to well up with tears as she became increasingly aware of what she had done.
"NO! I broke the survival rules... "Explosions can hurt people... Jean can be dreadful..." This is it... This time I'm done for..." Klee was unable to contain her emotions any longer, and she broke down and started crying. As soon as she realized what she had done, she bolted for the gate leading out of the domain so that she could return to the headquarters and brief Jean on the incident.
"Klee, wait!" Amber rushed forward and followed closely behind Klee in pursuit. Bloxx was about to follow them, but he timed out and reverted back to Ben before he could.
"None of this was her fault." Ben somberly muttered to himself, as it hurt to see a child beating themselves up.
"It made short work of that Abyss Mage!" Lumine remarked that she was at a loss for words since even though she was protected by the dome, she could still somewhat feel the effect of the explosion.
"No wonder Klee was rumored to be the strongest fighter in Mondstadt. Paimon certainly won't be initiating any sort of conflict with her. Ever." Paimon continued by elaborating on Lumine's previous statement.
"Strongest fighter in Mondstadt?" Ben's question reflected his interest in the subject matter that Paimon had brought up.
"There is a hot trend happening in Mondstadt right now to determine who is the strongest fighter. One person claims it's Jean, while another claims it's Stanley, and yet another claims it's the mysterious Darknight Hero. Some people have even brought up your aliens, Ben, but Paimon still thinks Lumine is the strongest." Paimon glowed with pride as she lauded her reliable traveling companion.
"Aw. Thanks Paimon." A grateful grin appeared on Lumine's face as she looked at Paimon.
"Oh really? Alright, so you want to square off against Way Big, the 150-foot giant that Amber mentioned?" Ben stood with his arms crossed and a sly grin directed at Lumine, who gave the impression that she was considering going back on what she had said.
"No…" Even Lumine and Paimon were forced to agree that facing off against a giant alone could very well be terrifying.
"Anyway, the part that piqued our interest the most was when a guy named Jose said a little girl who blew up the Stormbearer Mountains was the strongest. When we went to investigate, we bumped into Klee and then helped her find her stolen treasure. And that's how we ended up here." After Paimon finished recounting the journey they took to get there, she waited for Ben to remark on the fact that he was the most powerful of the group. However, this did not occur because Ben's thoughts kept going back to the sad, weeping face that Klee made in response to something that was not her fault.
"Come on, let's get back to the Knights' headquarters. Jean needs to know that Klee did not cause this." Ben sped back towards the Knights' headquarters as quickly as he could because he did not want to witness an innocent child being punished for something they had never done. Lumine and Paimon did not understand why Ben wanted to return to the headquarters, but they made the decision to accompany him nonetheless.
Klee followed through on her prior promise to report herself to the knights. She was in the office of the Acting Grandmaster in order to provide an explanation to Jean regarding the wrongdoing that she had committed earlier in the day.
"*sobbing* I... M—My bomb... I—I hurt someone...*sobbing* I broke the rules... I'll never see the light of day again..." That was the only thing that Klee was able to mumble as she sobbed so hard that she could hardly speak. It's possible that she won't be able to put this event out of her mind, and it's also possible that she won't forgive herself.
"Klee, I need you to answer me. You mentioned that somebody was hurt. Where are they?" Jean asked calmly, as she was most concerned about learning the number of people hurt.
"Master Jean! Klee had nothing to do with this unfortunate event! You need to understand the context of the situation first." Amber stormed into Jean's office to offer her support for her comrade. It was more impressive that Klee was able to outrun the Outrider and make it here rather than them arriving at the same moment.
"Wait! Amber's right! It wasn't Klee's fault entirely." Ben, Lumine, and Paimon were the subsequent individuals who unexpectedly entered the room to also defend Klee. Though it looked like Paimon was complaining to Ben why he didn't transform into an alien to get here fast and instead they had to run. Lumine looked at her companion with a face that said, "You just flew here."
"Could you please explain that to me?" Jean positioned her arms in a cross-pattern and indicated that she desired to hear the complete accounts of the witnesses to this incident.
"W-wait... Who are you mister?" While Klee was still sad, she was also confused and curious when she saw Ben.
After receiving a nod of approval from the alien hero, Amber then proceeded to provide Klee with a shortened introduction to him. "That right there is Ben, Klee. The cool guy who could transform into aliens like Bloxx awhile ago."
"Really?! So is this another cool transformation of yours, or your true self, Mr. Ben?" A fleeting second later, Klee's sense of guilt washed away, and in its place, a childlike curiosity began to manifest itself in her.
"I've always been cool, even if I'm not transformed. But yeah, this is how I actually look like, so you can stop calling me Mr. and start calling me Ben." Ben told Klee that he wants people to talk to him casually without any honorifics.
"Let us return to the matter at hand. Please explain the source of the misunderstanding." The conversation was brought back around to the primary issue at hand by Jean, and at this point Klee's feelings of guilt began to emerge once more.
"The person Klee blow up was an Abyss Mage." Lumine immediately began to explain to Jean that the individual Klee blew up was not a typical person.
"But... But Mr. Fluffball was only a thief... He didn't deserve to blow up..." Klee did not appear to be persuaded, seemingly thinking that even the most small of thieves did not merit to die in such a manner.
"Truth be told, Klee, Abyss Mages aren't your run-of-the-mill crooks. They are, in fact, villains." Amber revealed to Klee that Mr. Fluffball was different compared to other people.
"They're the very worst villains imaginable, too. They despise everyone, not just the good people... Humanity itself is their sworn enemy." Paimon picked up where Amber left off and finished her statement.
"Mr. Fluffball... was a bad guy on purpose? ...Mr. Fluffball is the enemy of humanity?! Wha... what?! I don't get it!" At this point, Klee was completely perplexed. It was the very first time that she had been aware of these enemies to humanity.
"This was an oversight on my part. You are still young, therefore I did not want to scare you with these revelations. In actuality, the Abyss Order is a hostile entity in Mondstadt that has been extremely active as of late." Jean explained the abbreviated version of the abyss to Klee so that she could comprehend it, and the Spark Knight's eyes widened in response to the new information that she had just acquired.
"But Klee I want you to promise me something. Despite how terrible they are, you have no right to take their lives. We don't have the authority to choose who lives and who dies; we're not killers." When Ben was talking about his rule of not killing, he appeared to be quite serious. However, he is well aware deep down that if the situation grows too dire, he will be forced to carry out the deed. He has killed in the past, but it is not something he particularly enjoys doing. Still, he doesn't want to teach such a mindset yet to a 10-year-old kid who is still relatively naive about life. The rest of them were just somewhat surprised by the news.
"Okay, Mr. Ben." Klee gave an innocent response back to the alien hero.
"Hey! I already told you to just call me Ben." Ben pointed out to Klee that she shouldn't refer to him as that, but the Spark Knight only giggled and acted as if she had done it on purpose.
"I wasn't expecting you to be the type that doesn't really kill Ben." Lumine had to admit that with all of Ben's abilities, he had to have done it at least once.
"I'll be honest and say that I've done it before, and it's not something I look forward to doing again. But if I have to do it, I will if it means more lives can be saved. In reality, that's just not something I want to do at any time. It's my responsibility to provide a helping hand to everyone I can. Heck, my best friend Kevin used to be an enemy of mine who wanted to kill me. But I gave him a second chance, and he's now a great hero helping others." Ben went on to describe his stance on this subject matter. And when they learned about Kevin's origins, everyone looked impressed. Both Jean and Amber were in agreement with each other and admired the manner in which Ben was able to end his fight with Kevin peacefully. Lumine and Paimon were curious as to whether or not they would be able to pull something like that off, and Klee was relieved to learn that Ben has a best friend.
"I wholeheartedly agree with Ben, Klee. Seek out amicable solutions whenever possible. Killing should be a last resort, used only when all other options have been exhausted. Now in light of your contribution on this matter, I will allow you to take part in the next Ludi Harpastum." When Jean finally delivered her judgement, everyone in the room appeared relieved.
"Ludi Harpastum! Whoa!" Klee was absolutely thrilled when she learned what her reward would be.
"I'm so happy for you Klee!" Following that, Lumine extended her heartiest congratulations to the Spark Knight.
"Klee, just think of all the fun games and activities you may participate in at the festival." Amber envisioned all the exciting activities they could enjoy together during the festival.
"Miss Honorary Knight and Ben, you should both come along too!" Klee circled back around and proceeded to hand out invites to her two new pals.
"As long as one of the games doesn't involve me in a dunk tank, then I'm in." Ben remarked it in jest as he still remembered the Olde Bellwood Days festival and how he was made to be the star of a dunk tank for charity.
"Woop-de-doo, it's a happy ending!" Paimon exclaimed with delight and began to spin around. It seemed like there was no longer anything that could go wrong for Klee.
"Except…" Unfortunately, it was all for naught since Jean began to have doubts about one particular aspect of the situation.
"Except for what?" As soon as Ben noticed that Jean's tone had changed, he couldn't shake the feeling that this was going to turn out badly.
"Klee, where did you hide the treasure to begin with?" Jean questioned their Spark Knight in a collected manner.
"I... Um..." Klee was sweating bullets, as this was the one question she hoped to avoid answering.
"Did you go back to Starfell Lake to try to blow up some more fish?" Jean was able to figure everything out, but she wanted Klee to be honest with her and admit it herself.
"I wasn't! I swear I wasn't!" Klee slowly turned her head towards the others and winked at them, indicating that she wanted everyone to participate in the lie. Sadly for her, Jean was perceptive enough to pick up on this particular move that she was making.
"Klee?" Again, without raising her voice, Jean inquired, but this time her expression was more serious.
"I'll see myself to solitary confinement..." Klee left the office in a gloomy mood, her head hung low, and she walked straight to her room to reflect on herself.
"Solitary confinement? That seems excessive for a child's punishment." Ben's reaction upon hearing what Klee had just said sent him to a state of shock.
"It's not actual solitary confinement, Ben. It's just another term for "you're grounded; go to your room." Jean was sure to make it clear to Ben that Klee will not be going to jail or any other type of detention facility.
"So if she goes to the bathroom, do you call it "quarantine?" Ben couldn't help but make a joke about the situation because he thought it was strange that they had to rename it in such a way. His quip worked, as it lightened the mood a bit and brought out a chuckle from everyone.
"Not at all. Only solitary confinement has a specific label attached to it. Though I know you already knew this from the briefing I gave you and Amber to our Honorary Knight and Paimon who doesn't know Klee is no ordinary child. In fact, she is an official member of the Knights." Jean revealed the truth about Klee's status to the two people in the room who didn't know it yet.
"No way! Klee is part of the Knight of Favonius?!" Paimon could not contain her surprise and now understands why Ben made them run all the way to headquarters.
"That sounds impressive." Lumine had to be honest with herself and admit that she liked the sound of that title over honorary knight.
"Among the Knights, Klee is known as the Spark Knight. Given the recent events I've heard from you in the domain, I'm certain you understand why." Jean inquired and was interested to find out if Klee's codename was befitting of her position.
"No kidding. That bomb was pretty strong and surprising." Ben still remembered that explosion well, as he felt it even if he took on a defensive formation.
"Yes. Even though she's responsible for more than her share of problems for the Knights of Favonius, she's still very dear to us. You'll learn more about her as time goes on if you're curious. In any case, if you do run into her again, make sure to keep an eye on her Honorary Knight and Ben." Jean brought everyone's participation in this meeting to an official close, and then she kept working on some paperwork while the others exited the room.
The party went on to visit Klee's room, which wasn't too far as it was next to Jean's office. However, because it was locked, they were unable to get it, so they decided to merely talk to Klee while standing in front of the door without actually seeing her.
"Guess who?" Paimon voiced her question while standing at the entrance to Klee's room.
"That voice. Is it really you, Paimon?" On the other side of the door, Klee gave her response and guessed who it might be.
"Me, Lumine, and Ben are also here to see you, Klee." Amber filled her friend in on the identities of those who had come to see her.
"Need help in busting out this joint?" Ben spoke it offhandedly, as though he could perform the task with ease.
"Or, would you rather go out to a restaurant for a bite to eat?" Lumine chimed in with her thoughts in support of Ben's.
"Ooh, ooh, yes, please! Wait — no, I... I can't. Klee needs to be a good girl and think about what she did... Stop tempting me!" Klee used all of her self-control to resist the temptations that her friends were trying to instill in her and did her best to maintain her composure.
"Sorry Klee, we'll do our best not to tempt you further." Amber expressed her apologies to Klee, and then she looked the rest of them in the eye and requested that they comply with the Spark Knight's request.
"Anyway, while I'm grounded, I'm making an extra-special new treasure... the Ludi Harpastum version!" Klee couldn't help but spill the beans on what she had in store for herself during her time spent in solitary confinement.
"When you say "treasure..." Paimon had a hunch about what the Klee word meant when it was translated to treasure.
"Tee-hee... I made it into the shape of a harpastum and everything! It looks so cute..." The Spark Knight had all of her plans laid out and intended to do a test run once everyone else had left the room.
"…And it's gonna be bombs away." Ben couldn't help but make a remark about what he believed the treasure's ultimate purpose to be.
"Just wait for Ludi Harpastum, oh yeah... They're gonna love it!" Klee proudly made her grand declaration towards her friends.
"Oh Klee. Your time in solitary confinement will be extended by a few extra hours if Jean finds out about this." Amber sent a warning to her companion because she did not want her sentence of solitary confinement to be extended any further.
"… I understand Amber." Klee expressed some melancholy as she understood that Amber was correct. She is determined to avoid being sent in solitary confinement once more.
"Cheer up, Klee. Once this is done, I'll let you play with Baron Bunny again." Amber comforted Klee by bringing up the subject of a beloved stuffed toy. Even if the Outrider can't see Klee, she was still able to discern that her mood improved as soon as she heard about the offer.
"You promise?" Klee asked whether or not Amber would remain true to her word.
"I promise." Amber made a solemn pledge while she crossed her heart and vowed not to break it.
"Yay! How about you guys? Will you take me on an adventure if Klee is good?" Following that, Klee posed the question aloud for Ben, Lumine, and Paimon to hear.
"Of course, Klee! Once you're free, we'll be here waiting to deliver you a whirlwind of excitement." Paimon and Lumine have made a promise to hang out with Klee after she is finished.
"And after everything is said and done, I'll show you some aliens." Ben also assured her that he will display some of his aliens for her to view at some point in the future.
"Thank you! Alright, time to think about what I've done and head back. I'll see you later!" Klee finished her farewells, and the party followed suit by completing theirs. Once their visit is done, they decide to walk out of headquarters. While Paimon and Lumine were contemplating going out to find out more information about her brother Aether, Amber was eager to perform more scouting missions, and Ben gave the impression that he had other things on his mind.
"Klee is just a kid who deserves to have some fun, and she shouldn't have to spend a long time in isolation. I'm going to break her out right now." Ben revealed his grand plan to the rest of his companions by speaking it out loud, and everyone was taken aback when they heard it.
"What?! Ben, that would go against Jean's orders!" Amber did not support that proposition and voiced her opposition to it right away.
"I know. That's why I'm going to secretly release her, take her on an exciting outside adventure, and then slip her back inside before Jean realizes she's missing." Ben proceeded to boldly convey to them further components of the plan he had in mind.
"Paimon thinks that plan sounds possible." Paimon agreed with that plan, as she too wanted Klee to go out and have fun.
"No, you still can't do that! You're breaking the rules!" Amber continued to remain opposed to the idea and she flatly refused to participate in the plan.
"Don't you always break the rules when you're using your glider, Amber?" Lumine relayed this information to Amber, who recalled hearing it during their gliding license exam from the Outrider. When she heard this, Amber immediately averted her gaze to cover her embarrassment.
"Come on, Amber. Let Klee loose for a while. I know deep down you also want her to have fun right now and not have the burden of being grounded in her room." Ben used guilt to persuade Amber to agree to the plan. The Outrider had the intention of objecting once more, but she suddenly recalled her trusted companion Collei from the past. She went above and above, and there's a possibility that she broke a few rules in order to ensure that her friend had a good time in life. It wasn't all that different to how Ben felt about wanting to help Klee.
"*sigh* Fine. You win. How may we be of use to you in this task?" Amber gave in in the end and agreed to help Ben with the plan, and the hero was pleased to hear that she had done so.
"Easy as pie. I'll be there with Klee, while you guys distract Jean if she ever notices something off. And if we need to immediately return, all you have to do is warn me." Ben was optimistic about the plan he devised, especially considering the fact that he had something under his sleeve to put it into motion.
"That's fine and all, but how exactly will we provide you a timely warning if you're so far away from us?" Amber raises concerns about the fundamental flaw in Ben's plan.
"With this." Ben took something out of the pocket of his jacket and exposed a badge that appeared to be an exact replica of the Omnitrix insignia that is displayed on his alien forms.
"You have another Omnitrix?!" The sight of the badge took Paimon by surprise. The same thing might be said for Amber and Lumine's reaction, as they were thinking to themselves at the time, "Can this make us transform into aliens as well?"
"Although it may seem like another Omnitrix, it's not. It's an old model of my Plumber's badge that I had before." Ben gave them an in-depth explanation of what this badge represents. In all honesty, he was caught off guard when he discovered the older version of his badge inside his brand-new white jacket, since he was certain that he had left it inside of his previous green jacket. The hero simply assumed that it had fallen off his old green jacket back at his dimension and that someone in his house had placed it back in his new white jacket thinking he had left the Omnitrix.
"You fixed toilets before, Ben?" When Paimon found out that Ben worked as a plumber, she couldn't help but break into a hearty chuckle. Amber and Lumine's chuckling could also be heard as they envisioned Ben changing into a variety of aliens in order to fix the bathrooms.
"No. The Plumbers are an intergalactic agency that protects people from threats. They're basically the Knights of Favonius of my city." Ben had no choice except to touch the back of his head and clumsily laugh it off. Mostly because he has to explain the true meaning of "plumber" to everyone he meets. They ought to seriously consider rebranding it with a new moniker, like Alien Force.
"I think it's time you guys changed your name. But more importantly, how exactly will that badge help us communicate with you?" Still, Amber was unable to suppress a grin when she heard the absurd name, and she offered Ben the suggestion that he urge them to change it. In addition to that, she was also curious as to how this badge would benefit them.
"Here, just take it from me, Amber, and I'll demonstrate it." The moment Ben finished handing Amber the Plumber's badge, he took off running into the distance. This left her, along with Lumine and Paimon, perplexed, and they all questioned what Ben's intentions were.
"Can you hear me? Hopefully this thing still works." Instantaneously, a static voice can be picked up from the badge. When the three of them discover that they can hear Ben's voice coming from it, their eyes immediately widen in amazement.
"How is your voice coming out from this badge?!" Paimon voiced everyone's question out loud.
"That's one of the neat features of it. It has a communication system so that even if I were, let's say, all the way in another nation, you could still communicate with me using it." Ben's static voice went on to explain the versatility of the communication feature.
"That's so cool." Amber was blown away by this piece of technology. She instantly recalled her friend Collei and how, if she had this technology as well, she would be ecstatic to be able to contact with her and hear her voice.
A few moments later, the alien hero reappeared where Amber and the others were, ready to break down the mechanics of the Plumber's Badge. "Now if you ever want to talk to me, just press the thing and find the communication function like this."
"Imagine how useful this would be if the knights had it." Lumine considered all of the different ways in which it could simplify the process of completing commissions. She also believed that if only she and Aether had this, she would have been able to hear her brother and find him.
"Since you all agreed with the plan and know your roles, it's time for me to do my part." Ben activated the Omnitrix and touched the core as a green light illuminated the area around him.
Ben turned into a humanoid, muscular, moth-like alien with four wings and an antenna. He has icy-blue patches on his arms, shoulders, legs, wings, and neck. The patches on his wings are underlined in black. Each wing's outer margin has a black line. Blue cheeks, underjaw, bluish-white teeth, and green eyes with dark green dots make up his visage. His scalp has a blue Y-shaped mark. Finally, around his waist, you can see the Omnitrix symbol on the green belt he wears.
The alien that Ben transformed into was Big Chill, the DNA sample of a Necrofriggian in the Omnitrix. One of the new aliens that Ben got when his original Omnitrix was recalibrated and he got a new batch of 10. This is one of Ben's ice aliens, and it fills the role of an extremely adaptable one in that capacity. In addition to his ability to create ice constructs, Big Chill possesses the abilities of flight and the capacity to become intangible in order to move unhindered through solid matter.
"If Jean ever seems to have an intuition that something fishy is happening, just tell her I'll be using an alien I haven't used in a long time called Atomix, who can be destructive." Big Chill turned transparent and phased through the solid wall of the headquarters before anyone could ask him his name or what he does.
"Aw. Paimon wasn't able to ask the name of that alien. But it looked like he was breathing out ice, and it looked like he had become a ghost. So Paimon will call him Freeze Ghost!" Paimon gave her usual nickname to Ben's alien, but Lumine appeared uncertain about the name that Paimon supplied, probably because she didn't think it sounded all that cool.
"I think that was Big Chill." Amber had a good idea of who the alien was because the Necrofriggian matched the exact description that Ben had given to Kaeya in his conversation with him.
Klee was bored, on the level of extremely bored. She disliked solitary confinement since it kept her locked up in her room, but she knows it is necessary if she is to learn from her mistakes and change for the better. Naturally, she didn't go through with that plan and instead focused on developing the next version of her explosives.
Then, she witnessed something abruptly enter the wall of her solitary confinement room, and it was a transparent azure flying figure that eventually revealed itself to be some sort of large flying blue moth.
"A-a ghost!" When Klee first spotted this monstrous flying moth, she was taken aback and immediately started getting her explosives ready in case she was attacked by this creature.
"Hold on! Wait! It's me, Ben!" Big Chill made a peace sign with his hands to show that he did not intend any harm, and then he reverted back to Ben by slapping the Omnitrix emblem on his belt.
"Ben? Oh it really is you. Klee seriously considered mistaking you for one of the creatures who appear around night time in Mondstadt." Klee breathed out a sigh of relief as the situation became clear. She had been concerned that Kaeya's stories about the monsters were true and that she would have to protect Mondstadt once more if this was the case. But she was relieved to meet the alien hero again.
"You can relax; that was just Big Chill. One of his abilities is intangibility." While Ben was walking and sitting next to Klee on the floor, he described to her one of the primary abilities that Big Chill possesses.
"What are you doing here, Ben? Did you do something bad to get sent to solitary confinement?" Klee couldn't help but wonder what Ben's purpose was in this location with her.
"I'm here to bust you out this joint and take you on an adventure!" Ben excitedly detailed his cunning plan to Klee, and the Spark Knight's ears perked up and eyes widened in response.
"Really?! That would be great! Wait—No! I already told you guys earlier to stop tempting me. I need to be a good girl." Klee attempted to resist the temptations that were brought about by Ben by covering her eyes and turning her back on him.
"Relax, I've got everything covered. If Jean comes looking for us, Lumine, Paimon, and Amber will let me know when to head back." Ben turned to gaze at her and maintained his cheerful demeanor as he detailed the first backup plan for his approach.
"Klee should continue to stay put and play by the rules." In spite of Klee's best efforts to maintain her mental fortitude, there were signs that her defenses were beginning to weaken, and it appeared like she was about to cave in.
"Come on, it will be fun. Those who are still young should get out and live it up. And I see that you're itching to test out your homemade bombs." Ben did not stop moving forward and eventually disclosed the second backup plan he had.
"But won't Jean find out if I play with my bombs?" Klee circled back around and asked Ben in a curious tone. There was no denying that Ben had just made a strong case for her to come along on their journey.
"I also got that covered. Amber will just tell Jean that I'm just trying out an alien out in the wild, and his abilities are explosive. What do you say, Klee?" Ben put out his hand because he was confident that this would finally persuade Klee. It was successful, as the Spark Knight glanced back at him and enthusiastically accepted his invitation.
"Let's do it!" Klee leapt up, and it appeared as though she was more prepared than ever to begin this exciting day with Ben. After hearing that response and finding it satisfactory, the alien hero promptly utilized the Omnitrix in order to transform into an alien.
During his alien transformation, Ben took on the appearance of a hybrid between a pterodactyl and a glider. Yellow beak-like mouth, green eyes, red skin, black and green attire, green braces on his wrists and ankles, and small, yellow, retractable wings that seem like a glider and are coupled to a jetpack-like mechanism on his back describe this creature.
This was Astrodactyl, an alien with a pterodactyl-like appearance, and his species originates from the same planet as Humungousaur. This is one of the most recent alien life forms that Ben has unlocked in his brand-new Omnitrix. With the assistance of the jetpack that is attached to his back, Astrodactyl is able to move quickly through the air while flying around. In addition to that, he possesses the ability to construct various kinds of energy weaponry by utilizing his Star Power; the energy whips he uses are among his most common weapons.
"Klee, meet Astrodactyl! *squawk*" After introducing himself to Klee, the alien, who resembled a pterodactyl, used his jetpack to fly up and hover above her.
"Hello, Mr. Astrodactyl!" Klee cheerfully responded to Astrodactyl's salutation, and she also decided whatever alien Ben turns into, she'll call them by their superhero name.
"*squawk* I already told you, Klee, to drop the "Mr." part. Here, hop on." Through the use of his star power ability, he fashioned some makeshift whips into the shape of a miniature seat for Klee to sit on. In addition to this, he took the necessary precautions to lessen the force of the energy so that Klee would not be hurt by it.
Klee jumped right on top of the laser whips and began playing and twirling around with them as soon as she did so. "Wee! This feels like a fun little swing!"
"Hold on to your hat, Klee, because you're in for a bumpy ride. *squawk*" As soon as Astrodactyl blasted through the window, Klee became ecstatic since she knew that this was the beginning of their exciting journey for the day. However, after a few seconds, Astrodactyl returned to the room to hastily lock the windows, and then they continued on with their expedition.
We now cut to the sky, where Astrodactyl and Klee can be seen flying through the air with a blissful expression on their faces. They were having a good time taking in the sights and sounds of their surroundings from a vantage point high above the earth as well as the sensation of flying through the air. It lives up to its reputation of making you feel as though you have been transported to a free-spirited part of the world. Klee was grinning broadly and seems to be thoroughly enjoying herself while Astrodactyl was putting on a show for her in the air by doing a variety of impressive stunts and acrobatics.
"*squawk* Okay then, Klee. Where in the area do you hope to kick off your exciting day?" Astrodactyl looked down at Klee and wanted to know where she would like to start off first.
"To Starfell Lake! Klee's favorite area is Starfell Lake!" Klee looked up and cheerfully spoke back at Astrodactyl, as she believed that today was the kind of day that would be ideal for going fishing at this very moment.
"*squawk* Then we'll be heading to Starfell Lake!" Astrodactyl dashes out in a brisk speed in the direction of their intended objective with the assistance of the thrusts of propulsion emanating from his jetpack and some directions offered by Klee.
The two travelers made it to Starfell Lake, and much like the rest of Mondstadt, the lake was a breathtaking sight to see. In accordance with what one may infer from the name, there is a lake that is not insignificant in size and is encircled by several lush trees. On the solitary little island that floated in the center of the lake was a teleport waypoint. And fish could be seen swimming all around the lake in great numbers. Even though Astrodactyl is certain that the fish became terrified when they saw Klee instead of his alien form, he has opted to brush the incident off as nothing more than a simple coincidence.
"I heard something about Amber talking about you and fish at Starfell Lake. Do you like to go fishing, Klee?" Astrodactyl ran out of time and reverted back to Ben, who asked Klee about whether or not she engaged in this activity as a hobby.
"Oh yeah! Klee has a blast splashing about in the fish lake." Klee made her way up to the lake and began interacting with it by touching it and playing with it.
"You know, I have an alien that you'll love since he would be perfect for the fish life." Ben informed Klee while he activated the Omnitrix and began to prepare the alien to show it to her if she wanted to see it.
"Really?! Can you show it to Klee!" The Spark Knight was beyond thrilled to meet another alien, and Ben gladly consented to Klee's request to show her another alien as he slapped the Omnitrix once more, causing a green glow to encircle him.
The alien that had taken Ben's place resembled several marine animals seen on Earth, including alligators, eels, leeches, anglerfish, and sharks. Arm and neck braces, a green antenna light, a huge fin on his back, black claws, and a long tail complete his appearance. Last but not least, in place of a strap, he sports a belt emblazoned with the Omnitrix logo.
This alien is known as Ripjaws, and his DNA was taken from a Piscciss Volann and stored in the Omnitrix. Ripjaws is one of the original 10 aliens Ben had from his first Omnitrix. The main usage for Ripjaws is any type of battle that takes place below the water. Due to the fact that he is able to improve his speed, agility, and strength while underwater, he is very effective in that job. In addition, he possesses formidable teeth and claws, both of which are able to tear apart tough materials, even metal.
"Wow! That's a cool-looking fishy!" As Klee took in the fish's otherworldly appearance, she pressed her palms together in astonishment and stared at the fish with stars in her eyes. The alien reminded Klee of an anglerfish she saw in a fishing guide book.
"Call me Ripjaws." The Piscciss Volann introduced himself with great pride, and then started to show Klee just how awesome he was. Ripjaws sprinted and dove into the water, where they proceeded to swim around the lake in a swift and sensational manner. At sporadic intervals, he would also emerge from the water to amaze and amuse Klee by performing various stunts for her. The show-stopping moment occurred when Ripjaws leaped from the water, rolled and flipped through the air, and landed in front of Klee.
The Spark Knight was quite impressed with Ripjaws's performance, and she showed her appreciation by giving him a rousing round of applause. "Ripjaws, can I try to fish you out of the water? I promise it'll be a blast!"
"Oh sure, but let's spice things up a bit. Catch me if you can is what I'm going to do." As Ripjaws went on to make Klee's request into a challenge, his confidence and desire to win both kicked in.
"Klee accepts your challenge!" The Spark Knight accepted the challenge with enthusiasm and is not going to back down from it now.
"Hold on, before I do that, do you want me to quickly return to Mondstadt and pick you up a fishing rod?" Ripjaws spoke his curiosity out loud. If that turned out to be the case, then he would have to transform into Astrodactyl once more in order to return to Mondstadt and bring her a fishing rod.
"Don't worry, Ripjaws. Klee is always prepared. My fishing materials are in my backpack." Klee took off her rucksack and set it down on the ground in order to get her "fishing rod" ready for use as soon as Ripjaws entered the water.
"Okay, cool. Klee, start the countdown and see if you can catch me." Ripjaws made his way to the water's edge, where he waited patiently for Klee to begin the competition.
"3…2…1… GO!" After Klee completed the countdown, Ripjaws instantly leaped into the lake and began swimming in a circular pattern around the island. The Piscciss Volann was engaging in a variety of dexterous moves in an attempt to sidestep Klee; however, in the end, he did dial back his antics a little bit out of concern that they were overwhelming for her. But after a few seconds of there being nothing said or done, he made the decision to peek out.
"What's wrong Klee? You can't keep up wit—" Ripjaws surfaced above the water to taunt Klee, but he instantly stopped after realizing why it was taking Klee such a long time to capture him and why there were no fishing hooks in the water. The Spark Knight was gearing up for an attack that included using her vision as well as bombs while she sported the largest smile imaginable on her face. Then, out of nowhere, a crimson four-leaf clover materialized and began directing itself at the Piscciss Volann in order to initiate its dazzling explosion.
"Uh-oh." That was the last thing Ripjaws was able to utter before being instantly consumed by a massive explosion that hurled him and the entire population of the lake into the air due to the force of the impact.
"Where did that come from? Did Klee manage to sneak away once more?" Jean muttered to herself as she got up from her desk and pondered aloud. She is unsure of the cause, but she got the impression that she had a sixth sense when it came to knowing whether or not their Spark Knight went off on one of her explosion trips. The Dandelion Knight stood up and decided she'd look into Klee again while she did some of the people's commissions.
However, just as Jean opened the door to go, she was greeted by Lumine, Paimon, and Amber, who was smiling nervously and looking slightly uneasy. "Hi, master Jean! How are you doing?"
"Oh, Amber, and Honorary Knight? I've been taking care of some paperwork and am now preparing to go out and work on some commissions that people have put in. Was there a chance you heard or felt an explosion off in the distance?" Jean questioned the three of them in order to determine whether or not the events she was hearing were figments of her imagination or if they were in fact real.
"Explosions? Yeah, that was just Ben having a test run for an alien he hasn't used in a long time." Amber did her best to carry out Ben's instructions on the lie that she had to tell.
"He's using "The Green Bomber" right now." Paimon then revealed the identity of the alien Ben was using. However, it appeared as though she had forgotten and was only able to come up with a nickname for it.
"Atomix." Lumine corrected Paimon on the real name of the alien.
"Hmm. Before doing something potentially damaging, Ben should have consulted me. However, at least he isn't doing it in the midst of the local populace." Jean made a mental note to remind herself that when she next encounters Ben, she will advise him to be easy on himself when he is transforming for strength training.
"Would you like some help in doing those commissions, Jean?" Amber was eager to be of assistance to Jean. She would have assisted her regardless, even if Ben had never instructed her to merely divert her from the situation.
"It's not a big deal. I'm capable of handling this on my own. The rest of you look like you're incredibly busy." Jean, with her usual politeness, tried to deny their help.
"No, we're just bored and searching for something to do after we've wrapped up our tasks. Adding additional labor is one good approach to accomplish this." Lumine did her best to give off the impression that she was excited about completing these commissions, but Paimon gave off the impression that she was sighing as she realized that they would once again be errand runners.
"Seeing as how you all are adamant about this… Alright, I appreciate everyone's assistance in advance. This is a list of everything that has to be done by us." Jean agreed to take their assistance, and they moved on to complete the commissions that had been given to them. The tasks ranged from removing Hilichurl camps to assisting with the planting of flowers in someone's garden.
After the explosion subsided, the only evidence of its aftermath that remained was a decrease in the amount of water in the lake and charred fish all over the place. Fortunately, Ripjaws was one tough extraterrestrial, as evidenced by the fact that the only damage he sustained was a few tiny burn scars all over his body rather than being reduced to the consistency of fried tilapia. The unfortunate aspect was that he was quite dehydrated at the moment, and his endurance was being challenged, so he was forced to revert back to Ben, who still groaned from the aches he was feeling.
"That was fun, Ben! Let's do it again!" Klee, who was totally ignorant of what had taken place, joyfully skipped over to Ben and urged him to get back on his feet.
"I don't know, Klee. Maybe turn it down a notch." Ben carefully stood back up and performed some neck stretches in an effort to alleviate the tightness he was experiencing.
"You don't want to play with Klee anymore?" Klee then adopted a begging expression because she didn't want to call an end to the fun just yet.
"No, it's not that! Aliens or not, explosions still hurt." Ben had to admit that the unexpected bomb drop caught him off guard. If he knew, he would have probably switched immediately to NRG or something.
"Oh, did Klee hurt you?! I-I'm sorry Ben! I broke the rules again." Klee stared down at the ground, feeling miserable, and thought to herself that she should just be sent back to solitary confinement because this time she had wounded a friend rather than an enemy.
"Hey, no need to act all sad. Trust me, we're going to have a blast. And I've endured much worse, so this hurts like nothing." Ben didn't waste any time and went straight up to Klee to comfort her that she had done nothing wrong and that everything was going to be fine.
"A-are you sure?" The Spark Knight's demeanor didn't inspire much confidence because she kept seeming worried as she kept glancing at Ben.
"Totally. Come on, turn that frown upside down and give out a smile." The alien hero provided the Spark Knight with even more inspiration and motivation. Because of his actions, Klee was unable to stop herself from reciprocating it with a large smile of her own, and Ben was thrilled to see that it had been returned. "That's what I want to see. Now if you wanna to play bombs, I'll allow it. But let's find somewhere else to test it out because the fish looked all knocked out from your sudden explosion."
"I know a good area! Kaeya once told Klee there was this big area near Starfell Valley. I think they called it an amphitheater. But I'm not sure what that is. Anyhow, Klee remembers Kaeya also saying there's this big metal giant that can shoot out explosives as well. I want to see whose explosions are more powerful." Klee's guilty expression changed to one of enthusiasm as she eagerly began to name the place on her travel bucket list that she absolutely had to see next.
"Big metal giant? I think I've read that in the library they're called Ruin Guards. But they're just giant robots anyway, so it should be a piece of cake. Lead the way, Klee." Ben suggested that the Spark Knight serve as their guide, and she gladly agreed to do so by taking the initiative this time around in the exploration.
Ben made the executive decision to refrain from transforming into a different alien and instead let the Omnitrix recharge for a little while. Plus, it was good to do some cardio while in his human form, along with him just admiring the scenery with Klee.
"You know, you being an adventurer at only 10 years old sure takes me back." The alien hero wanted to talk more with the Spark Knight, so he decided to try and initiate a conversation.
"What is that supposed to mean, Ben?" It was successful, as a result of which Klee was left wondering what Ben's comment meant.
"A few days ago, I shared this information with Jean and the others. I'll share it with you as well, but only if you promise to keep it a secret." Ben had every intention of informing Klee about the Omnitrix due to the fact that she is an official knight and it most likely won't do any harm to satisfy a child's curiosity.
"Pinky promise." Klee demonstrated to Ben that she wouldn't breach the pledge by extending her pinky to him, and Ben acknowledged her efforts by performing the same thing to her.
"I can transform into different aliens thanks to this watch, which I've had since I was 10 years old." Ben held out his Omnitrix towards Klee, and he activated the hologram for her to see. The Spark Knight was astounded when she noticed that this device started lighting up all of a sudden and displaying a few funny pictures.
"Oh! That's why you keep hitting that thing. Klee thought it was a pretty wristband of yours that you liked hitting." Now Klee understood what the Omnitrix was, and in her mind, she honestly thought it was Ben's lucky charm.
"I've had several exciting adventures since then. I stopped a lot of bad guys and saved the universe at least a million times." Ben recited his standard checklist of heroic deeds in response to a question about the things he had accomplished in his role as a hero with a nonchalant air.
"You're a cool hero, Ben! The reason Klee is an amazing member of the Knights of Favonius right now is thanks to my mom!" Klee had to tell Ben about her mom. She makes it a point to tell everyone she knows how awesome her mother is all the time.
"Is your mom a high-ranking official in the knights that she's able to recommend you early into their ranks?" Ben inquired of Klee because he felt that her mother would bring to mind a specific loved one of his.
"She isn't part of the Knights of Favonius, but Mom is the best adventurer ever in all of Teyvat!" The Spark Knight continued by giving her mother her most treasured praise.
"Your mom really sounds like an interesting person." Ben concurred with Klee, and based on all he heard from her, he believes that Klee's mother may in fact be quite similar to his grandfather.
"What about you, Ben? Was your mom the reason you're a hero right now?" Klee had this question for Ben since she was curious about the identity of the amazing person who had assisted him in his life at this point.
"Not really. I have a lot of respect for my parents, but I really have to give credit to Grandpa Max for establishing in me the drive to become the greatest person I can be. Honestly, if it weren't for him, I wouldn't be an awesome hero right now." Ben recalled his grandpa Max with a warm and fuzzy feeling. From teaching him to ride a bike to showing him the ropes and giving him advice on how to be a good hero, he has done it all. The example set by his grandfather serves as a beacon for him.
"Your grandpa is super cool, just like my mom!" In the same vein as before, Klee remarked this time that Ben's grandpa was an extraordinary individual.
"He is the coolest." Ben smiled warmly as he nodded his head in assent and expressed his agreement.
Because they were having such an engaging discussion with one another, the two of them failed to realize that they had already arrived at their destination. Klee was the one who was able to spot it first, and when she did, she snatched Ben's hand and led him in the direction of the enormous amphitheater. "Seems like we made it!"
As he watched, Ben finally understood what Klee was talking about. Indeed, it was a single enormous amphitheater, and for some reason, the hero found himself thinking of a massive coliseum from back on earth. This historic structure is known as the Thousand Winds Temple. To protect themselves from the fierce blizzards brought on by the war between the Decarabian, Lord of Storms, and Andrius, Great Wolf King of the North, the locals constructed this monument. Some people also believe that during the Aristocratic Period, slaves were forced to battle one other here for the amusement of the older nobles.
"Is this an ancient gladiatorial stadium?" Ben was curious about it since, while he was at the library reading books, he decided to skim over the section that discussed the history of this building. It brought back a memory for Ben of the time when he had to work together with Kevin in order to survive being carried to gladiatorial battles by Slix Vigma.
"Over there, Ben! I think that's the one Kaeya was talking about." Klee drew Ben's attention to the thing she was pointing to, but the alien hero didn't appear shocked to see it. In the middle of the damaged amphitheater stood a colossal brown robot from antiquity with a single eye that glowed an orange-yellow color. What they were witnessing was a Ruin Guard, an elite war machine. They were either active throughout all of Teyvat or were dormant until disturbed.
"Yup, it's exactly as described in the book—a massive robot. Shouldn't be that hard to fight. It would probably be like the 100,000th robot I've destroyed in my life." Ben didn't show any signs of fear when he spotted the Ruin Guard, and he thinks that this fight will be an easy victory for them.
"So, Ben, what cool alien will you turn into next?" Klee turned around and couldn't wait to see what form the superhero alien Ben would take in his next transformation.
"You can handle the firepower with your bombs. I'll be there to support you with some gravity powers." Ben knew he could easily beat this robot but he decided to take a step back and let Klee have the fun. After turning on his Omnitrix, the hero scrolled around the display until he located the silhouette of Gravattack. When the Omnitrix core sprang out, he slammed it down, but this time he hit it with a bit more force than normal again.
But instead of becoming Gravattack, Ben changed into some other alien life form. The extraterrestrial is a tall, muscular fellow with green skin and a face painted bright shades of yellow, red, and orange. His black hands have yellow claws, spikes, and palm holes. He has six crimson horns with yellow markings like a flame. He has a huge collar around his neck that is yellow on the inside. The symbol of the Omnitrix appears on his stomach.
Ben mistransformed into Swampfire from the DNA sample of a Methanosian stored in the Omnitrix. This alien was the first one that Ben turned into when he had his Omnitrix recalibrated, and since then, his appearance has altered into what is referred to as his " blossomed form." Swampfire has the potential to be one of Ben's most valuable and adaptable aliens due to the fact that he is capable of doing a wide range of things. His abilities include the creation of fire, the control and summoning of plants, producing gasses, and of course regenerative abilities.
As he examined his hands, Swampfire grumbled inwardly at the realization that they were neither large nor rocky. "I said gravity, Omnitrix! Not additional firepower!"
"Who's Mr. Plant Guy, Ben? And why does he smell yucky." Klee was thrilled to see a new extraterrestrial, but she couldn't help but cover her nose as she inhaled the putrid smell that it gave off.
"Sorry, Klee, but Swampfire gives off a lot of stinky methane body odor." The Methanosian expressed his apologies to Klee, stating that even he was forced to acknowledge that he exudes an offensive odor. But, fortunately, it appears that Klee's nose is not sensitive to it in the same way that Incurseans' noses are.
"Methane? Klee remembered Albedo talking about that, and it can go boom." Klee recalled a day when Albedo had discussed several scientific topics with her, and the only ones that she could recall were the ones that involved kaboom. Also, Swampfire was still not used to hearing the name Albedo in connection with a decent person. He should definitely meet the actual Albedo of the knights as soon as possible to avoid any confusion.
"Yeah, it can go boom. Okay, here's the plan, Klee. I'll be busy distracting him while you can just go bombs away on it." Because of the wrong transformation he had been given, Swampfire came up with a brand new plan that was completely improvised.
"That sounds like a good plan!" Klee gave her okay to the plan, and while Swampfire made his way toward the Ruin Guard, she began making preparations for the bombs she would use.
"Hey, cyclops! Over here!" Swampfire sparked two fireballs in his hand and hurled them at the eye of the Ruin Guard. The projectiles erupted in the Ruin Guard's face, causing it to jerk and somewhat short circuit.
The Ruin Guard was able to pull himself back together, and he immediately began madly rotating his robotic arms in the direction of Swampfire. His onslaught was momentarily halted just before he was able to make it to the Methanosian when a series of bombs started striking him in rapid succession. As soon as it turned around, the robot saw Klee hurling a slew of explosives in his direction. The Ruin Guard leaped into the air and then attempted to crush Klee by landing on her, but fortunately, the Spark Knight was able to avoid it by dashing away in the opposite direction.
The Ruin Guard suddenly had their field of view obscured by flames that were launched from Swampfire's hands in the manner of a flamethrower. With nothing but flames in front of him, the robot started swinging around again, desperately attempting to hit a target. However, it didn't realize that a Jumpy Dumpty was slowly hobbling towards it, and as a result, a number of mini bombs launched away and detonated again on its legs. Klee finished off the combined assault by directing the same exploding charged strike she used earlier against Ripjaws towards the Ruin Guard. This caused the robot to fall to the ground, lay down, and short-circuit as a result of the blast.
"We won, Swampfire! That was fun." Klee turned around and smiled towards Swampfire, as she was happy with this fun team-up they had. The Methanosian was also about to congratulate her when he realized that the Ruin Guard had been able to get itself together again, so it stood up, turned around, and aimed its missiles at the Spark Knight, who still hadn't noticed their new predicament.
"Klee, look out!" Swampfire sprinted as quickly as he could and pulled Klee away from the line of fire. Despite the fact that he was successful in rescuing the little girl, he was unable to defend himself before being struck by the onslaught of missiles, which caused all of his body parts to disperse in all directions.
"Ben! No!" As she watched the various portions of Swampfire's corpse disperse over the air, Klee was left speechless and paralyzed with horror. She hurried up to it and held up his surviving arms with tears in her eyes, since the pain of witnessing a friend of hers pass away for the first time was too much for a child to bear.
Because of what took place, and since Klee was too busy with mourning the presumed death of Ben, a Ruin Guard made the most of this opportunity and walked up to her to put an end to her life as well. However, the Spark Knight's incredible good fortune shone through when Swampfire's body parts began to regenerate and join themselves to each other once more. After a few seconds, the Methanosian was able to completely rebuild himself, and he struck the Ruin Guard with a tremendous uppercut just before it continued its assault on Klee. "No one harms any kids when I'm around."
"You're fine!" Klee gave Swampfire a hug, and it didn't bother her in the least that he smelled horrible or that the plant-like texture of his body felt strange to her. The fact that Ben was still alive was the only thing that truly mattered.
"Hey, Klee, you don't have to worry about me. One of Swampfire's main abilities is regeneration. Whatever the enemy throws at me, I will survive." Swampfire patted Klee's head and did his best to console her and tell her that there was no need to worry.
"Klee still doesn't want anything to happen to her friend." Klee broke free of the embrace and wiped her eyes as she blinked back her emotions.
"This hunk of junk appears to be on its last legs and poised to crash and burn. Klee If you really want to put an end to this, I need you to drop the largest bomb in your arsenal." Swampfire kneeled down and amped up Klee to give her another resurgence of motivation to defeat the Ruin Guard.
"Coming right up, Swampfire." Klee's zeal returned, and she started to bring out the big bomb. However, just as the robot prepared to aim missiles at them once more, Swampfire was quick and threw out a bunch of seeds on the ground by the Ruin Guard's feet. Instantaneously, enormous vines emerged from the earth and caught the Ruin Guard, entrapping and rendering it helpless to escape their grasp.
"Sparks 'n' Splash!" Klee delightedly detonated the enormous bomb in her grasp that took the form of Dodoco and tossed it in the direction of the Ruin Guard. The explosive caused a massive explosion that did a significant amount of damage to the Ruin Guard. After the primary explosion had concluded, a number of smaller bombs suddenly materialized in the air and began to fall onto it. Klee also made use of her vision to provide some supplemental firepower, which contributed to the successful elimination of the annoying Ruin Guard.
"That was amazing! We should do that again!" Klee jumped for glee as soon as she saw that the Ruin Guard had finally been defeated, especially considering the significant role she had played in the victory over such a formidable foe.
Swampfire ran out of time and reverted back to Ben. Upon seeing Klee's success, the alien hero appeared to be beaming with pride like a proud older brother. "From everything I've seen, I'd have to say that you rightfully deserve the title of "Spark Knight"
"Look at all these parts. I bet I can make new, powerful bombs with this." Klee began to scavenge the robotic pieces and almost immediately she began to formulate ideas in her head for the many kinds of explosives that she could create with them. The most intriguing component that she observed was the core of the Ruin Guard.
"Make a bomb, huh? I know an alien that can help us out." Ben once more activated the Omnitrix in order to change into a different alien, and a green glow surrounded him like it had before.
Ben became a red Gremlin-like alien with four-fingered hands, three-toed feet, and a devil-like tail. He's dressed like an aviator, complete with the signature ascot. His eyes have black pupils, ears are spiky, teeth protrude, and he has a large nose. A spike protrudes from his chin, and he also sports two more near his eyes. And he wears the Omnitrix emblem on his waist.
This crazy-looking alien is known as Jurryrigg, and its DNA was taken from a Planchaküle and stored in the Omnitrix. The alien, who at first look appears to be unthreatening, is in fact extremely dangerous. His key gimmick is that he can literally swiftly weaponize any ordinary technology or parts into one formidable weapon. In addition to his speedy ability in assembling machinery, Jurryrigg also possesses a comparable speed when it comes to disassembling them.
"Your ears remind me of mine, that's really cute!" Klee approached Jurryrigg and began to make comparisons between herself and the alien that resembled a gremlin. It appeared as though she was looking forward to having this alien become her new playmate due to the fact that they are of comparable size and potentially even have the same exuberant personality.
"The name's Juryrigg, Klee! And it's time to reassemble these parts!" The mad gremlin that he is, Jurryrigg instantly jumped headfirst into the sea of broken bits of the Ruin Knight and began to prepare his creation.
"Disassemble, reassemble! FIX FIX FIX FIX FIX!" While Juryrigg was rapidly disassembling and reassembling the robot pieces, a significant cloud of dust began to form. In a matter of seconds, Juryrigg had assembled a massive grenade launcher out of Klee's bombs and the components of the downed Ruin Guard, most notably the core.
"What is that toy, Juryrigg?" Klee appeared to be more ecstatic than she had ever been in her life since she had a hunch that this object had the potential to unleash the largest and most spectacular explosion in the entirety of Mondstadt.
"It's simple, Klee! Just aim this up high and pull the trigger for a mega-big-ultra-explosion! Ahahahaha!" Juryrigg was beyond himself with joy at the prospect of seeing his work put to use, and he promptly passed on to Klee the responsibility of being the one to turn it on.
"Kaboom!" When Klee pulled the trigger, the grenade launcher began to glow yellow and orange, resembling the color of the eye of a ruins guard. After the gun had finally gained sufficient charge, it promptly discharged one round of a bomb in the direction of the sky. Unfortunately, both the recoil and the power were excessive, and this caused the weapon to breakdown. But that didn't matter to Klee and Juryrigg because they were going to see the most awesome explosion of their whole lives right then and there.
"Many thanks for your assistance." Said a random person. The final task of the day was successfully finished by the group consisting of Jean, Amber, Lumine, and Paimon. Which was to assist a new resident in Mondstadt with moving furniture into his newly purchased home.
"It's no problem. It is my sincere desire that you find Mondstadt to be an ideal place to call home." Jean was all smiles as she helped him set up the chair in his living room.
At this same moment, Amber, Lumine, and Paimon could be found sitting outside near the stairs leading up to the door. They also completed moving the final pieces of furniture into the house. After some small talk had been exchanged between the three of them, Paimon was the first to complain. "Ugh. Ben had to leave us to be the errand runners in his plan, of course."
"To be fair, he didn't insist that we do anything in particular. Just distract or watch over Jean. Our decision to take on these commissions with her was entirely voluntary." Lumine relayed this information to her flying companion, and Paimon couldn't help but let out a sigh of assent.
"And try to have an upbeat outlook. Isn't it great that we get to help people and see them happy and relieve some of Jean's work?" Amber did not mind the work because she is always happy to assist those who are in need.
A massive shock wave crashed across the city, knocking everyone to the ground with its abrupt force. After the massive explosion that Amber, Lumine, and Paimon felt and saw, they gathered their bearings and glanced up to investigate the reason, and what they saw was a giant explosion dust cloud that looked a lot like Dodoco. The three friends stared in disbelief at what they had just seen and immediately realized that they either needed to devise an excuse for Jean or give Ben a heads-up about with the Plumber's Badge.
"What on Teyvat is going on here?!" Jean stormed out of the house in a frenzy and demanded to know whether there was an assault going on.
"Um… Just… Ben doing alien things." Paimon did her best to develop the most plausible excuse they could offer.
"No. Nothing about this seems like something Ben would do. Excuse me, but I'll just check on Klee quickly." Jean made a hasty exit from the house and returned to the headquarters of the knights.
As soon as the three of them realized they couldn't come up with any excuse to deter Jean from finding Klee, the expression of panic spread across their faces. "What are we going to do?!"
"You guys try your best to slow down Jean! I'll warn Ben right now to get back here before they get caught." Amber informed the two, and with a nod of their heads, they set off in pursuit of Jean. The Outrider continued on to locate a secure location in which she could use the Plumber's badge and make contact with Ben.
The wonderful explosion ended, and right now Klee was lying on the ground, looking a bit tired, but she had a satisfied smile on her face from the event she had witnessed. And Ben was just sitting next to her, looking at her with a smile.
"This was the best day Klee has ever had! Thank you, Ben!" While Klee was laying on the ground with her hands extended toward the sky, she animatedly rolled about from side to side with a joyful sense of play.
"I'm glad you had fun today." Ben was happy to see Klee having a fun time. Their joyful moment came to an end when the Omnitrix started beeping.
"Oh, your thingy is beeping." Klee pointed it out, and she pondered whether or not it signified that Ben would transform into a new alien. Ben, on the other hand, was fully aware of the situation's implications.
"Hello?" Ben raised his left arm closer to his face and communicated to the Omnitrix in order to answer the call that was being made to it.
"Ben! You better get back here fast now! Jean is going to check up on Klee to see if she's still in her room or not." Klee was taken aback when she heard her friend Amber's static-filled voice coming from Ben's Omnitrix.
"Thanks for the heads up, Amber. We'll be back at headquarters in no time." Ben brought down the Omnitrix, and he observed that Klee was in an unhappy state after receiving the news.
"Aw. Klee wanted to have more fun." Klee cast her gaze downward, wishing that this exciting day could continue on forever.
"Don't worry, Klee. We'll have more fun in the future. That's a promise." Ben extended his hand to Klee, but instead of accepting it, the Spark Knight immediately gave him another heartfelt hug, and the hero was surprised by this, but he did return the hug also.
"Pinky promise." Klee extended her pinky towards Ben, and he happily complied and had his pinky interlock hers. The two exchanged a heartfelt smile towards each other, and then Ben activated the Omnitrix to transform into an Astrodactyl. The pterodactyl-looking alien then produced another energy whip for Klee to ride on, and he activated his jetpack. In a flash, he flew fast towards the Knights of Favonius headquarters, with Klee once again happily screaming for joy.
"How successful were you in slowing her down?" Amber approached Lumine and Paimon, who she had met outside Klee's room. Another thing that the Outrider could observe was that Jean was preparing to unlock the door.
"We tried! Paimon offered Jean that there was this coffee place we could try, and Lumine also invited her to grab a quick bite first after a hard day of work. But Jean declined it and said she wasn't hungry or thirsty." Paimon detailed for Amber all that they did in an effort to slow her down, but their efforts were fruitless. The group of three watched as Jean eventually unlocked and opened the door, and at that point, they did nothing more but brace themselves and trust that Ben would be able to bring Klee back in time.
Jean was expecting Klee to have escaped solitary confinement again, but she was genuinely surprised when she found Klee contentedly lying on the ground, coloring and doodling on a sheet of paper. Amber, Lumine, and Paimon let out collective sighs of relief as they learned that Ben was successful in bringing the Spark Knight back on schedule.
"Hello, Master Jean! Is Klee done with solitary confinement?" Klee looked up from her drawing and asked her Acting Grand Master in a completely innocent manner.
"Um… Just a few more minutes, and you can go out now. I hope you've taken this lesson to heart." Jean realized that she might have been incorrect and that she should have put more faith in Klee. Despite this, she is going to have to deliver a lecture to Ben because she believes that he was the one who was responsible for causing that enormous explosion.
"I learned my lesson!" Klee gave Jean an upbeat and positive response. She also let out a small chuckle when the Dandelion Knight did not the slightest bit suspect her, and Ben's plan was successful.
"By the way… What are you drawing?" Jean couldn't help but be curious about what Klee was drawing. She prayed that it wasn't the same one she drew after Kaeya told her about the monsters who appeared at night that resembled knights.
"Ben's aliens! Bloxx, Big Chill, Astrodactyl, Ripjaws, Swampfire, and Juryrigg! Klee's imagining what they look like based on what Ben told me." Klee proudly displayed her drawing for Jean and everyone else to see. Bloxx was depicted as a castle, with Klee happily raising a flag on top of one of the towers. She was having a wonderful time soaring through the air on the swing with Astrodactyl. Ripjaws is splashing around in the water while Klee joyfully fishes him out of the depths of the lake. When Klee was threatened by a Ruin Guard, Swampfire planted plants to shield her. And the final one saw Juryrigg and Klee working together to construct explosives.
Seeing the cute renditions of Ben's aliens that the Spark Knight made was a highlight for everyone. Lumine and Paimon gushed over the adorable drawing as Amber looked on, inspecting the details of the aliens she had missed seeing Ben in. Jean couldn't help but wonder if this was all just Klee's imagination or if Ben had shown her a demonstration. They were unaware that Ben had just arrived and was standing behind them; as a result, the hero couldn't help but give Klee a heartfelt smile and wave to her. As a response, the Spark Knight smiled as broadly as she could at Ben, whom she has come to regard as the most awesome big brother.
I wish to express my gratitude once more to each and every one of you for reading and supporting my story. Have a wonderful holiday season, and I hope you all are doing well.
To Legendary Destroyer Ice: Because Teyvat is a parallel world Ben was accidentally sent to and not another planet within Ben's universe, the Plumbers may only be mentioned in flashbacks or back at Ben's world. In regards to your second inquiry, time will tell if it comes to pass.
To Ariel69: This will probably be the only crossover or story I write here. But who knows, maybe I'll have more downtime and be able to crank out more stories of other series. However, for the time being, this will be the only story I focus on.
To Guest: Before starting a new chapter, I usually research or do a refresher on Ben 10 and Genshin lore. As soon as I read your comment, I worried that I had overlooked something important and gave serious thought to revising Chapter 3 in light of your remarks. But I did further research though, and it seems that only Albedo is aware of Alice's outer world travels. So I think it would be safe to say that it is in the realm of possibility that they don't believe Ben is from another universe.
To Guest: We'll see in the future.
