Conclusion [Four Months Later]

Fall came and went with Harvest's and Colors' barrage. Apples provided Cider's and Dessert's special treats. Thanksgiving harkened to Celebration's Joy. Winter's Chill and Snow provided Seasonal Contrast if not a longing for Chinook's Spring Time Warmth.

For Smallville, Change came in subtle yet impactful ways. Nell decided to move her flower shop to Metropolis. Lana declared and won emancipation. Sam's situation brought a move west as well. She and the Duboises took up permanent residence in the Luthor Mansion. Sam, in addition, trusted the Kents with her secret in exchange for keeping Clark and Lana's. Concerts came on a monthly basis either in the Talon or, with extra special transportation, with the Wichita Symphony.

Life seemed good….

[Loft, Kent Farm]

Lana surveyed Snow Covered Fields from the doorway. Wind skittered Flakes across its smooth surface. Stars twinkled overhead in Nocturne's dark backdrop. Inhaled Breath brought Clean Air through Nostril. "Ahhh!" She stretched her arms wide.

Engagement Joining Bracelet reflected Luna's light. Jewels sparkled in Lamplight as well. Despite First Wear's Overwhelming Experience, Joy surged through her. Purpose directed her. No longer was she Time's Tragic Cover Girl. Success came to her in droves. Honor Student…Talon Partner…Barista Supreme…and Kryptonian Fianceé.

Life was good….

If only all people could have this. Pete and Sam are so into each other. Clark's so special now that we don't have secrets any more. I could bottle this moment. Contentment warmed her.

"Enjoying the view?"

Smirk worthy of Lex spread across her face. She turned to see Clark holding up Mugs. Super Smell detected Cocoa in them. "Taking a page out of my book, I see?"

Clark grinned. "I have a good teacher. What can I say?" He set them down on the table. Then, he walked over to her side. "Beautiful night."

"It sure is. Kind of relaxing." She nodded. "And I'd say the same of you." She embraced him. "Thanks for helping me with my gifts too."

"All part of being partners. Right?" His eyes sparkled with Luna's aid into hers. Lips pressed Amor's imprint onto her forehead. "I'm glad we're alike now."

"Yeah, just tell Jor-El to ease up. Those lessons are killers, you know?" She focused on a candle. Her heat vision ignited its wick. "Sorry. I practice every chance I get."

"Hey. You're doing great. Look at Sam. She's got her abilities under control. Guess Pete's really being a confidence builder?" He shrugged. "Sometimes it just takes that one person to believe in you." He rubbed her arms.

"You're that guy for me, Clark. Remember that. Just fifteen months left. We walk across the stage. Then, we find that minister. I'm glad your folks are good with me being here." She kissed his hand. "I love you all."

"They know that, Lana. You're part of both families. At least, we have friends who support us too." He took a draught from Cocoa's bliss. "We just keep working at it every day."

"Every day. Now, that's something I think we can manage, Mr. Kent. Just don't bring any crimson rocks our way. All right?" Teasing lilted and jabbed at his ears.

He rolled his eyes. "I think we can manage that. I don't need fancy stones or rings as long as I have you." He snaked his left arm around her shoulders. "Love you, Lana."

"Love you more, Clark." She rested her head against his arm. With him, she gazed upon Polaris and then Rao to its right. Two Halves came together to form their whole. Friends supported them. Simplicity appealed.

And everything was as it should be….
