more to come

She was walking, she didn't know where to, she didn't know how long but she was tired. She was in a hall, and it only seemed to grow longer and longer. It was dark but she didn't feel any danger. Actually, the low-lit hall was a bit comforting, the soft glow of the torches was welcoming instead of intimidating. Where was she? The question fluttered across her mind but for some reason it wouldn't hold. She couldn't focus, she just knew she had to keep walking. What was at the end of the hallway? The thought passed her mind as well, but it wouldn't stay. What was she doing? She was walking. What did she remember? Nothing. Why was she walking? She didn't know but had a feeling there was a reason.

Kagome stopped, forcing herself to take a look around, never run into battle blinded she thought. A lesson she learned hard in jail all those years ago, focus she told herself, where was she? Kagome took a look around the hall she was in, doors, the hall was lined with doors. Wow, she hadn't even realized that, they were all the same, simple wooden doors the same color as the hall, she reached over and twisted the doorknob. It gave easily, she pushed it open only a small portion so she can see inside.

It looked like an ordinary room, she stepped inside to take a closer look. There wasn't nothing much to take into account, there was only a few filing cabinets scattered around the 7 by 7 space. Stepping forward she opened one up, there wasn't a lock or any safety mechanism on it, which made Kagome skeptical. Something was nagging at the back of her mind, something important, something that needed to be remembered.

The file cabinet contained exactly that, files, labeled by dates. March 15, 1999. That date brought a stiff, unpleasant emotion to her chest. She wasn't sure why but she was suddenly uncomfortable. She opened the folder and was surprised when a blue light shot out of it, like a hologram.

A scene played before her, blue eyes blinked, it was her when she was a child. She was in her room, playing alone with a doll. Kagome frowned, Kikyou was the one that played with dolls, not her. She didn't remember this. She watched the hologram play, the small version of her was laughing as she sat on the floor making the barbie fly. Kagome watched as the younger her suddenly turn, she seen it to, the shadow by the closet, it moved. The small girl stood, walking over to the closet and opened it slowly but there was nothing inside but clothes.

Shrugging, she closed the door and turned to go finish playing with the doll she left on the floor. She paused as she passed the mirror, something in her peripheral catching her attention. Blue eyes went wide, and she screamed making Kagome slap the file closed, ending the transmission. She slid the folder back into its slot and just stared at it. She shook her head, trying to slow her breathing, what the fuck was that she didn't remember that ever happening. But that was her, that was definitely her and there was definitely something in that room with her.

She shook her head again, looking to the filing cabinet, all the files were dated like the first one. Were all these files holding a memory she wasn't aware of? Were all of them included that shadow creature? She stepped back as realization hit. Something was making her forget. It hit hard, making her turn and grab the door, she yanked it open with more force than necessary and stared at. On the front in black letters was a simple label. Age 6 Jan-Mar.

She stepped out of the room and turned in a full circle, everyone room had a label on it, Age 6 April-July, Age 6 Aug-Oct, Age 6 Nov-Dec. It continued on to age 7, then age 8. It kept going.

Her mouth opened a bit in surprise, this was how she organized her memories, this was her mind. She was inside her own head! That nagging feeling came back, she was forgetting something. Something important.

Walk. She turned and headed down the hall, realizing the ages were going up on the doors. She suddenly blinked, why was she walking again? It was as if she was commanded to, something was leading her this way. But what? She wanted to stop again and look for a weapon, what if it was dangerous.

She froze momentarily, that nagging feeling back once again, something in here was dangerous. A sudden thumping noise made her jump. She turned, looking behind her, hearing another thump. Definitely closer. In her mind... she wasn't alone.

Blue eyes went wide, the dream coming back to her. Him. He was here. The thumps came faster, as if something had started running. Trying to reach her.

RUN!

Kagome turned and bolted, she ran for all she was worth, hearing the thumping of heavy footsteps getting closer. It was getting closer, she could hear it, its breathing was heavy, she could tell it had four legs by the pattern thumping of its feet. It had to be huge, she thought, trying to make her legs go faster. She didn't want to be caught by this thing. Blue eyes glanced to a door she was running by, she was reaching her 20's. Damn it, what was she going to do when she reached her current age, would it be a dead end? She glanced behind her, she had to, she had to see what she was up against in case she had to make a stand and fight.

What she saw made her blue eyes go wide, she wanted to scream but it was caught in her throat. She stumbled forward, caught herself with a hand and put the pedal to the metal. It was an animal, that's all she can make out because the entire thing was on fire, completely engulfed in flames. All you can see was sharp teeth and red eyes that looked ready to kill. She wanted to take another look at it, to try and figure it out what it was. Was it him? That shadow? That creature that was stalking her since she was a child. What did it want? Why was it after her What would happen if it got her? He would overcome her, take her mind completely over, he would be unleashed, she would be his puppet. She couldn't let that happen, she could never let the happen!

Something hot slammed into her side, she screamed, hitting the wall so hard she left an indent of her body against the wood. She fell to the ground in a heap, almost unconscious by the force of the attack. She blinked blue eyes, realizing that something hot was still on her side. Oh shit, she was on fire! She rolled onto her back, slapping at the flames that were eating through her shirt. A deep growling caught her attention. It was in front of her, directly in front of her.

Ignoring the pain in her side, she pulled her knees up and stood slowly. No sudden movements, she told herself, keeping her arms spread, palms up, showing she was unarmed. " Who are you?"

The flaming creature just smirked, showing rows of deadly teeth that would shred her to bits in seconds. " Little pig little pig, let me come in."

Kagome blinked, it didn't move its lips, his voice seemed to just whisper into the air. " Do I know you?" she asked, honestly curious.

" Yes you do. You use to hear me talk to you."

Kagome shook her head, cautiously taking a step back, " I don't remember you."

" Magic wiped the slate clean but now its time to remember me."

Kagome shook her head again, her already frazzled nerves on edge. She took off down the hall, the creature was on her heels, but she didn't care, she just wanted to get the hell out of here.

She saw on the doors the age was reaching 23, was this it then? Was this the end? She didn't see a way out of here. She noticed the hall seemed to finish as she neared it, but there was a light coming from the left. It was a bend in the hall. She had to turn. Fuck, she couldn't make that turn going at this speed, she wasn't a got damn cheetah.

She could hear the creature on her tail, one leap and he would have her, devour her, destroy her. She kept pumping her legs, trying not to focus on him, how was she going to make this turn.

She glanced at the hall again, the last door was coming up, it said Age 24 current time. She noticed how close the torch hook next to the door was to the bend in the hall. An idea popped in her head. Quick hands pulled off her belt in a whip like snap. She ran with all her might, speeding up as much as she can while wrapping her hands around the ends of her belt. She could hear the thing behind her, growling in anger. She forced herself to ignore him so she wouldn't mess this up, she only had one chance at this, she had to focus.

The end of the hall was coming up, she had to wait for the perfect moment to do this. As soon as she passed the last door, she held both her hands up, lassoing her belt around the torch hook.

Her body lifted off the ground at the abrupt shift of direction, her arms screamed, almost dislocating at the sudden pressure, her body smacked into the wall as she came to the sudden stop. She saw the flaming shadow fly forward, unable to stop from crashing into the wall.

Kagome let go of her belt and fell to the ground, she stumbled for a moment but she was able to stay on her feet. She immediately turned the corner and continued running before the creature could get up.

There was a room at the end of the hall, the door was open, as if waiting for her. Kagome picked up her speed, she could hear it up again and coming after her, roaring deep in its throat, now extremely angry. It was going to catch her before she reached the door, she knew it. And knew there was nothing she can do about it. All she could do was keep running, she was almost there but she wasn't fast enough to get inside and close the door without it getting in too. She knew this, her mind thinking of a way out but no solutions coming forward. It was on her now, she could feel its breath on the back of her head, one bite and she was going down.

Fuck it. Kagome threw herself forward without hesitation, baseball sliding into the room. She glanced up, eyes blurry, feeling disoriented, but still spun on the floor and kicked the door with all her might, hearing it slam shut. The door locked and a green light flickered around it like a barrier. Kagome blinked as the banging began, the creature's angry voice vibrating through the door, " Little pig, little pig let me in!"

Kagome stood, breathing heavy, she shook her head, backing up against the wall, watching the door with wide eyes. She hated that damn story, always have. She glanced around, the room was empty, as if its only purpose was a safe haven. She shook her head again, what the hell was going on? Was this really her mind? Where these really her memories? Why couldn't she remember any of them? And what the fuck is with the flaming demon in her head! Kagome suddenly stopped, realizing what she was about to think next. Why did the room flash green? Her powers gave a white haze.

Kagome made a face, thinking for a moment, ignoring the growling and the banging. This wasn't right, none of this was right. Kagome took a step back, feeling a sudden sense of vulnerability crashing down on her, none of this could be possible. This couldn't be real. This couldn't be happening.

The hairs on the back of her neck stood up, the banging driving her broken mind crazy. She huddled against the floor, making herself as small as possible, crying into her knees as she clamped her hands over her ears.

" LITTLE PIG, LITTLE PIG LET ME IN!"

She shook her head, sobbing, closing her eyes, " Wake up." she mumbled, " Wake up brain, wake up. Wake up Kagome, wake up."

Everything was dark, Kagome was frowning, they had a stupid sack over her head, like she didn't know where they were going. Idiots. The transporting spell that was used had a low mile radius; she could tell by the feel of the magic when she fell in. She also knew only the pros, like Gruff, had the power to orb over water so that leaves one place for them to take her. City Tour air strip. It was a small patch of paved ground used for charter plans and such as a runway. She heard a lot of noise, but mostly the sound of the chopper she was sure she was in, chained to her seat. After an hour or two of sitting and an uncomfortable sleep, Kagome felt hands grab her roughly and drag her out of the chopper into what she thinks was a building.

She felt hands undo her cuffs before she was simply tossed in a room. Slowly she pulled her sore, tired body into a sitting position, finally able to pull the stupid bag from over her head. Waiting for the blur in her eyes to focus, she licked her lips, a strange murky after taste touching her tongue. Giving a soft 'Eww' she wiped her lips with the back of her hand, blinking her eyes to hurry the process.

" What did you get me into now."

Her eyes finally clear, she looked around, seeing a frowning face, same as hers, " I know this is all your fault."

Kagome stared at her sister for a moment, she was sitting on the floor, legs bent, elbows on her knees, in her teaching priestess uniform. She glanced down, for the first time realizing her wrist was cold. There was a thick metal shackle attached to her arm, connected to a single chain. Following it with her eyes she found herself again looking at her sister, seeing the same shackle on her right arm. Cute, they tied them together.

She just sighed, taking in the non familiar surroundings. " When they got you?"

Kikyou just watched her sister begin analyzing the situation, " A few hours ago, I had just finished my last class before some demon ambushed me."

The room was empty, nothing but a full sized cot and a basin next to the door, " Kagura probably."

" Is this about the Lord of the west? People thinking I'm you and trying to get some ransom money?"

Kagome looked at the door, it was hard steel, heavy bolts and coded with an alarm system. She would need some power tools to get through it. " No this is about the rebellions. It's all over the news that a war is close to breaking out."

" What does that have to do with me?" Kikyou snipped sharply, " You are always getting me into trouble, I swear I wish we didn't look so much alike."

Blue eye glanced to her, " I don't always get you in trouble. I haven't even been around you since you had me tossed in jail."

Kikyou just rolled her eyes, " Well that's what happens when you stab someone in the chest."

Kagome shook her head, " Cut the bullshit Kikyou." she waved her arms around the room, " There's no one here, you don't have to keep acting."

Kikyou raised a brow, " Who's acting."

Kagome frowned, " You wanna keep it up fine, hate me all you want, but that's not gonna get us outta here. So for right now I'mma need you to suck that petty shit up and work with me to escape."

Kikyou frowned, rolling her eyes once more, " How do you propose we get out of here then?"

Kagome sighed, then looked around, walking over to the other side of the room, the chain rattling as she moved, Kikyou watched her as she touched the wall, her arm rising at the stretch of the chain, not complaining though, knowing Kagome was thinking, trying to figure out their escape, she was always the smarter one, though she'll never admit it.

Kagome frowned, the walls were cinder block brick style covered by plaster. No weak spots. Turning she leaned against the wall, " This some bullshit." Rising her hand to brush bangs out her face. Hearing the soft hiss she looked over, seeing Kikyou arm raised from its resting position, the shackle cutting into her wrist at the pull. She quickly dropped her hand, " Sorry."

Kikyou just frowned, " Right." Blowing on the red skin, hoping to ease some of the pain. Kagome blew a breath, puffing her bangs out her face as she closed her eyes for a moment, trying to figure a way out of here, head leaning back on the wall.

With a soft sigh she slowly opened her eyes again, wanting nothing more than a bottle of Bacardi right now. Something to just make her forget she was here for a while. Following the direction her head was already pointed when she opened her eyes she realized she was looking up. She blinked, pushing off the wall, eyes now focused as the idea jumped to the front of her brain. " Kikyou, do you remember how we use to play jump rope?"

The twin looked up from her sulking position, a position she have been sitting in the last couple of hours, she looked at Kagome, then followed her gaze, standing, eyes reflecting the same idea that was going through her sister's mind, " I sure do."

Kagome looked at her, then the chain, Kikyou doing the same, taking hold of the cold steel, nodding to Kagome. She nodded back, grabbing her end, with a silent count of three, the twins took a breath and swung the chain up like a jump rope. It wasn't until the third try the chain decided to finally obey and snag onto the chandelier that was hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the room.

Both heads snapped to the door, hoping the noise didn't attract any unwanted attention. Hearing no movement, Kagome and Kikyou quietly switched places, crossing the chain so it had a good grip. Looking at each other again, they took another breath, this time holding it as they closed their eyes and pulled with all their might.

Naraku was standing by his balcony, enjoying the soft breeze of the night air with a smile on his face. Everything was going according to plan, his miko was finally here and the sword was on its way. He turned at the knock on his door, seeing his loyal servant walk in, " Mojo is everything prepared?"

" Yesss massster." The chubby snake like serpent hissed out.

Naraku nodded, he always hated the way he spoke, he was turning towards the demon when he heard something explode. He looked up, seeing the snake do the same thing. " The room." He stated, not needing to tell the servant to follow.

Walking up a flight of stairs, Naraku walked down the hall and stopped outside a door. Pressing in a combination number to the lock, he took a calming breath, watching the steel cylinder locks move and the thick automatic door opening on its own. He then just blinked.

The room was empty, the chandelier that was supposed to be hanging from the ceiling, now laying in the middle of the floor broken, a gaping hole left in its place.

He turned with a smile, slightly proud of his miko, he knew it was her idea, she was so clever, " They're trying to escape."

Kikyou was crawling in the air duct behind her sister, chain over their shoulders to stop the rattling from giving away their position. Kagome stopped at a vent, straining her eyes to see in the room. It looked to be like a janitor closet. Leaning up, she slid her fingers through the vent, wiggling it free, turning it so it can be pulled inside the air duct with her.

Sticking her head out, she got a better look of the room. Yup, it was a janitor closet, complete with mops, brooms, cleaning supplies and rags. Blinking at an irritation in her eyes, Kagome looked down then frowned. There was a garbage can directly beneath her, full to the rim with broken glass shards.

Rolling her eyes, she looked around for a way down without stabbing herself to death. Seeing an old wooden dining room chair, she got an idea. Glancing back, she saw Kikyou watching her, " Hold my legs." Seeing her sister nod, she took a breath, before pulling herself halfway out the vent, her hands grabbing the back of the tall chair. " Pull me back in."

Kikyou nodded, though Kagome couldn't see her, switching the grip she had on her calves to a pulling position and gave a good tug, hauling Kagome backwards as she held on to the chair, bringing it with her.

When the legs off the chair touched the front of the garbage can, Kagome let it go. Now pulling her in would have been easier since she lost the weight of the chair, but you have to understand, it was hot in that air duct and Kikyou hands were sweaty. The sudden loss of the extra weight had her hands slipping over smooth skin.

Kagome felt herself falling forward, the pile of glass growing closer. Not able to do anything she cringed her eyes shut and held her breath, waiting for pain.

She blinked as she suddenly stopped, seeing glass shards a mere centimeter from her face, she let out the breath she held as she felt herself being pulled back in the air duct. As soon as she was inside, she sighed, happy her face was still intact, then snapped her head to her sister, frowning, rolling her eyes seeing Kikyou mouth sorry.

Kagome peaked her head out again, sliding out the air duct from her waist up, both hands again on the back of the chair. Taking a slow breath for assurance, she leaned forward. Slowly sliding the rest of her body out, holding herself up only with the strength of her arms, pressing her feet firmly against the wall, her legs arched up, her tummy over the pile of glass, arms on the back of the chair, shaking with the exhaustion.

Pulling air in her nostrils, she held it in her lungs, bending her knees, pushed off the wall, her body responding to all her years of training. Her slim body now upside down in a perfect handstand, with an expert gymnastic twist, she turned herself around, lowering her body so she was standing up right in the chair.

Letting the breath she was holding out, she rolled her shoulders trying to rid some of the pain in her arms as she looked at the garbage can. Should she try to move it? She thought for a moment, before shaking her head, it probably weighs a ton and might make too much noise. Instead, she stepped down from the chair and turned it around before again standing on the seat and simply holding out her arms.

Getting the message, Kikyou turned in the uncomfortable air duct before sliding her body out, feeling her sister arms slid under her shoulders, heaving her out the duct, with a soft puff of air, Kagome swung her sister's leg around, at the same time shifting her position so an arm was free to catch them.

Now holding her sister in her arms, bridal style, Kagome hopped off the chair, before she let go, letting Kikyou drop to the ground with a thump. She just stood slowly, rubbing her backside with a small smile, knowing she only did it because of the almost Freddy Kruger makeover she gave her.

Pulling apart from each other, the twins began wrapping the chain around their shackled arm to shorten the distance between them, Kagome eyes were distant as she nodded, signaling the 4 meters they left between them should be good.

Kikyou dropped her arm, looking to her sister, " What now?"

Kagome walked over to the brooms she seen in the corner, " First window we see we're outta here." She said, twisting the stick off.

Kikyou blinked, catching the one that was tossed to her, seeing she wasn't getting one for herself, " We don't know what floor we're on."

" We'll figure it out on the way down."

There was a pause as a soft tension passed between the two sisters, Kikyou just sighed, though she should have been born first, she got the feeling she would have always felt like the younger sister. Knowing no matter how much she protested, Kagome would eventually get her way.

" Ok, fine."

They huddled around the door, getting ready to sneak out, when a light went on in the hallway. They stepped back as a shadow was cast in the light, filtering under the door. They waited, it paused, then moved away.

Kagome frowned, " Damn I wish I had a gun." She mumbled, before peaking the door open and sliding out, Kikyou right beside her.
