more to come

Kagome was sitting under a weeping willow. The tree seemed familiar, but she couldn't place where she seen it from. She looked down at her clothes. She could have done better. Her light blue bell-bottoms and spaghetti strap white tee shirt was not the greatest outfit to last be seen in. Oh well. Slowly she bent her left knee, pulling the pants leg up.

The long, curved blade gleamed as it was pulled out from the ankle holster, sunlight touching it. The white ivory handle slick, smooth in her hand. She sat back, looking at it for a moment. It was a beautiful dagger, she thought, twisting it in her hand, liking the way the sunlight glowed around it.

She didn't remember where she got it from, but she was sure it was a gift from someone. Someone important she think, her mind was a bit fuzzy. She held it firming in her left hand, turning her right-hand palm up to show her vein, slowly lowering the blade.

She was surprised, it didn't hurt as much as she thought it would. Actually, it felt kind of nice. She switched hands doing her other wrist, then leaned back against the tree. It felt really nice. Like not only her blood was leaving but her pain as well. She liked it. She thought about closing her eyes but changed her mind.

She looked out over the small spring, eyes beginning to unfocus, it was like feeling nothing but knowing what was happening, everything seemed dizzy but still at the same time. Here but far away. Bright but dull. Colors spilling out their outline. She actually smiled; it was kind of pretty. Relaxing. And people say death is scary. If only they knew.

Her lids were getting droopy. There was a rushing noise in her ear, like a waterfall. She liked that too. She pictured she was there. Standing at the edge of a secluded waterfall with a calming pool at the bottom.

She felt cold. She imagined it was the perfect blue water after she jumped in, surrounding her. It was cold but it was perfect. She floated on her back, staring up at the blue sky. Perfect. She couldn't hear the birds chirping. The rushing sound was too loud, her waterfall, but she saw them, dancing around, saying their goodbyes. She didn't pretend they were at her waterfall. She wanted the quiet. This was her calm before the storm. Her paradise before she enters hell. She held on to her fantasy, such a perfect image should not be forgotten.

She heard a scream, was that her?

Her head tilted up, hearing her name. Her eyes were half lidded, barely seeing. Blurs, she realized, a fuzzball was standing beside her. A small giggle left her throat, but never actually leaving her lips. Fuzzball, ha.

The black fuzzball bent, Kagome knew if she blinked her glazed over eyes wouldn't open again so she stared, wanting to see all before she went. It was talking to her. She couldn't make out what it was saying. Maybe it spoke a different language?

She tried to shake her head, but it was more so just a thought. She didn't want the fuzzball trying to stop her. " If I don't die, he'll kill everyone."

The fuzzball came closer, she felt wet spots on her face. Was she crying? She didn't know, maybe it was her screaming too. She couldn't tell. It looked like the fuzzball understood her by its reaction. It was frantically pointing at something in the distance. Kagome turned to the direction but couldn't make out what fuzzy wazzy was doing.

She was being lifted. It felt weird, like she was out of her body, but still there at the same time. She wanted to laugh again. Like great sex. Something was holding her, moving pretty fast she thought. Her head tilted on whatever she was laying on. It must be the fuzzball, she figured.

Maybe it was a soul collector. It moved closer to whatever it was pointing at before. Three small flames were in the middle of a pond, forcing the shadows away with its heat. Kagome stared, confused, what in the world was that... Everything suddenly got dark. Her eyes finally closed.

She woke with a start, covered in sweat and her head blooming with a migraine. With a groan she pulled off her shirt and wiped her face, wincing at the pain in her temples, " Man."

Her shadow was beside her instantly, " You don't look well little pig. How about some cake?"

Slowly she shook her head, sitting up with a groan, " Water first."

A cup appeared in the clawed hand of her best friend, slowly she took it and sipped at the lifesaving liquid. She groaned handing the glass back still half full. Her stomach was so upset she wasn't sure if even the water was going to stay down.

" I think I need a doctor."

Man grinned, showing flesh shredding tooth, " You just need some air. You wanna play?"

Kagome couldn't help but smile at the question her only friend always seemed to be asking her, " Play what?"

" Let's play... Pilots."

Kagome laughed, carefully pulling the covers back and climbing out of bed. " That sound like fun."

She stood and a wave of nausea hit her, she grabbed her head to stop the spinning, waiting for it to settle. Taking a deep breath, she turned, smiling to her closest friend, " Let's do it."

Man grinned, patting Kagome on the head, " Lets."

It has only been a few hours according to Souta's rolex on his wrist, but it felt like days has passed since they've been trapped in this cave. They sat in a cage of some sort, a room with no doors, just sleek rock on all sides. The shadows brought them here after the conversation with the entity that was controlling Kagome.

They all stayed calm however, taking the time to really come up with a plan. Suki was nodding, " So, we're all in agreement?"

Tashio frowned, looking around the circle they were sitting in, " Are we sure this will work?"

Gruff shrugged, " 50 50 probably but we don't have a choice."

Sesshomaru glanced to the immortal, " Can you not call your creator here to handle to entity?"

The man shook his head, " Gods cannot interfere with the workings of man. She cannot be involved directly."

Souta sighed, " So plan A it is."

They all nodded, coming to an understanding when once again, arms and hands of shadows separated from the wall and grabbed them. Learning the hard way from the first time, Souta held his breath and closed his eyes as he was pulled into darkness.

Moments later, they reappeared in a heap on the floor of the dining room they shared earlier that day. Coughing and rubbing away goosebumps from traveling through shadows they all stood, taking a seat at the large table.

The aura was thick, and the air was cold; they glanced to eat other, knowing they were being watched by the shadows. Nodding softly as a reminder to stay in character, they each started filling their plates with food from the magical buffet.

As they were eating, taking advantage of the free food, Kagome walked in the room. There was immediate pause. Sesshomaru raised a brow, she was even younger, about 9 or 10 years old, dressed in an army fatigue uniform. Now about 5'0, she was thin with a boyish build, her subtle curves premature. Her black hair was shorter and braided into two cornrows the tips reaching just below her shoulder blades.

Souta shook his head, his heart breaking at seeing his sister aging backwards, " Oh Kagome."

She looked up and smiled, they all saw the pain behind it, " Private Kagome reporting for duty!" She paused in her fake salute and rubbed her stomach, " I think I'm getting sick."

They watched her take a seat at the head of the table, that white film still swirling in her eyes. " My stomach and head keep hurting."

Tashio frowned, " Why are you dressed like that?"

Kagome reached over and picked up a teacup, mentally telling it to fill itself with lemon ginger tea, " Man said I just need to get some air. So, we gonna go play soon."

Gruff looked to his daughter, " Play what?"

Kagome smiled as the tea brewed before her very eyes, taking a cautious sip, " Pilot. We gonna go on a plane and everything."

Sesshomaru glared at the wall, knowing the shadow was watching. His plan so obviously clear. He was going to have Kagome hijack a military plane and fly around the world to spread his disease. He looked to his wife, " Can I play too?"

Blue eyes glanced up, looking to the white inu she hasn't really spoken to yet. She frowned, picking up a piece of toast, " Man said it was a solo mission."

Tashio shook his head, " If it's a solo mission then Man can't go either."

Kagome laughed, lathering the toast up with butter, " Man goes everywhere I go silly."

Sesshomaru spoke up again, " Then I can train you for your mission."

Everyone nodded, knowing the plan was based around getting Kagome alone with her husband. Souta grinned, " He can show you some tricks that might come in handy."

Suki agreed, " Imagine how impressed Man would be."

Kagome made a face, thinking it over, she did like to show off for her friend. Glazed eyes glanced over to Sesshomaru, " Do you know how to do the butterfly back kick?"

The inu nodded making Kagome smile, " Okay let's go!" she said, draining her cup of tea.

Her shadow stretched just as Sesshomaru stood, Kagome turned to the wall, waving her friend away, " Not yet! Not yet! Don't look, I wanna show you something!"

A coldness vibrated through the air, " Little pig, little pig, what are you planning?"

She giggled, not at all chilled by the entity, " Its a new trick but you can't look yet, okay?"

Her shadow slithered across the wall, Man separated from the shadows, a grin on his face. He rubbed his favorite little person's head, " Later little pig, we need to go. The plane is waiting. But afterwards, you can have ice cream."

She beamed a smile that warmed the room, she loved ice cream, "Deal!" turning, she reached for Sesshomaru's hand to shake, " I promise to learn later okay."

As soon as she grabbed his hand, Sesshomaru yanked her forward, grabbed her head and bit into her neck where his mark was. Souta took the moment and flipped the table as Man launched forward.

White light flashed before Kagome's eyes as she screamed, fainting into the inu's arms. Gruff was in front of him immediately, grabbing Kagome and running out of the room as Tashio, Suki and Souta distracted Man in a fury of fists and food throwing.

Reaching the pool, Gruff laid Kagome on the grass; straddling her waist, he pressed his hands to her chest, " I need 10 minutes."

The cave rumbled as a roar echoed off the walls, shadows slithered across the ground, Sesshomaru frowned, " You got 8."

There was a loud thud then screams as Suki, Souta and Tashio came flying out of the back entrance in a heap of limbs. Man stepped out of the shadows with a grin, " I'm impressed you actually attempted to come up with a plan to stop me."

Sesshomaru stood in front of Gruff and Kagome as the immortal whispered his enchantment. The others climbed to their feet, standing at Sesshomaru's side, hands up, ready to fight.

Man laughed, " So entertaining." with a wave of his hand, shadow demons stepping away from their homes, surrounding them, evil looks on their hideous faces.

Tashio looked to the youngest in the group, " Quick question."

Souta relaxed his body into a stance, ready to fight. " Yeah?"

" How much do you weigh?"

" What?"

Tashio suddenly grabbed his arm and threw him at the shadow demons before them. Man attacked, Tashio jumped out the way, dodging the blow, before charging himself.

Souta screamed as he flew through the air, his powers reacting to his fear and surging forward. He caused an explosion as he collided with the demons, blasting shadows into the far corners of the cave. He groaned as he hit the ground, " Asshole."

He rolled to his stomach and sat up, using his powers without building up first always drains him immediately. He struggled to his knees, taking in the scene. Tashio and Suki were on attack mode against Man, as Sesshomaru held the rest of the shadow demons at bay while Gruff sat on top of a very small Kagome. Man was fast and strong able to keep up with both the powerful demons at the same time. He turned attacking the demon closest to him, Suki didn't have time to duck so he pivoted to avoid the swipe of the claws, jumping back.

Tashio launched forward, trying to hack at the entity, Man turned striking forward, pushing the inu back, he suddenly turned, launching at Suki, making the phoenix block a fist and leap backwards. The entity was unpredictable, making him dangerous, Tashio launched at him, trying to land a hit.

Souta shook his head as both demons were blasted back, skidding trails into the grass. Crossing his legs sat comfortably on the grass, resting his hands on his knees. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath and focused on his sister, knowing what he had to do.

Man laughed, watching his competitors struggle to get off the ground, " This was fun, but as I mentioned earlier, we have a plane to catch."

He turned, seeing his host's husband in the mist of battle with his minions. He smirked, enjoying the entertainment, she could have chosen worse, he thought.

Sesshomaru was focused, in several impressive moves six demons were beheaded. He turned, feeling eyes on his back, he sliced at the tentacle projectiles that were shot at him. he was outnumbered, he knew this, but he refused to submit.

He dodged a side attack, twisting and flicking his wrist, his acid whip slicing the demon in half. Ducking in a pivot, he sliced a shadow demon across the face. Flipping backwards he slashed at more of Man's puppets keeping them at bay. Avoiding a swipe to the legs, he spun in a circle arm out, making everyone jump away from the acid whip they didn't know how to defeat.

Jumping back from an on slaughter of more tentacle projectiles, he ducked under an arm and spun taking out the legs of six demons. He then spun, hand over his head, taking off the heads of several others. Sesshomaru kept fighting, running on pure adrenaline, he dropped to his knees as a demon lunged over his head, rolled to his feet and sliced it across its back. Then ducked, pivoting to the right, whipping at another one. He dived out the way of a tackle and for a millisecond wanted to just lay there, but he forced himself up, crackling his whip at the last three that dare approach him.

His breathing was heavy, and he focused on slowing it, protect her was all his mind could think at the moment. He had to protect her; aching but still able, he blinked through his tunnel vision, turning to his wife. Eyes went wide at the face that was inches from his own, eyes a swirling cloud of white.

Man grinned, rows of flesh shredding teeth being seen, " I like you."

His hand reached up, it was a fast action, too quick for anyone to stop. Man's hand touched the Lord of the West chest... and then an explosion went off.
