The Dark Side of the Moon

Chapter Seven

The once clear blue sky grew dark, as a rumble emerged from above the forest. As the wildlife ran and hid, Annabeth, Grover and the four demon fiends kept fighting.

Meeting them blow for blow and dodging left and right, Annabeth always kept an eye on each demon fiend. She noticed a pattern forming and couldn't pick it up. It's like they were trying to stop her from seeing it.

Blocking one of the demon fiend's swords, another aimed a punch at Annabeth's face. But Grover hopped in and blocked it. Grover winced as he got kicked hard in the chest and down on the ground. Soon, a demon fiend kicked her and Annabeth rolled on the ground, crashing into Grover.

Grover and Annabeth helped each other up as the four large demon fiends stood there ready for round two.

"This is rough," Grover said, gripping his sword.

Annabeth's eyes narrowed as she remained silent. The moment she spotted a demon fiend sticking its tongue out, its eyes glowed. The others phased in and out as they circled around it.

Annabeth gripped her daggers. She charged toward the fiends, with Grover right behind her.

One fiend jumped at Annabeth, but she jumped in the air. Two fiends jumped in the air as well.

Glancing from left to right, Annabeth bit her lip as her eyes flicker. She moved up a little higher in the air, bouncing off both the fiend's heads. Her eyes flickered again as she turned her whole body in the air, moving faster and faster, becoming a mini tornado aiming right at the glowing eyed fiend.

Seeing this, the fiend threw its sword at her. Spinning faster and faster, Annabeth breezed past the sword, missing it by an inch.

The fiend's eyes widen as Annabeth head butted him in the chest. But it was Grover who came up from behind her, slicing the creature's head off.

The headless demon fiend fell backwards as its body disappeared into a dark purple smoke.

The other fiend's eyes widen as they backed up. Annabeth smirked.

Grover and Annabeth fist bumped.

"This is gonna be a lot easier now," Annabeth said.

Grover smiled, seeing the look on the other fiends' faces. "Oh, yeah."

Grover jumped in the air landing a hard sidekick to a fiend's face, Annabeth came up behind him cutting its head off.

The other two fiends looked at each other and took off running through the forest.

Annabeth smirked, as her eyes gave off a lavender color glow. "I love it when they run."

Grover and Annabeth took off running after the last two fiends.

Meanwhile, back in the lab, Catherine was looking at the monitors. Shaking her head, she scribbled down some notes.

Catherine sighed as she watched the first two demon fiends fall. As Grover and Annabeth ran after the others, she noticed there was something hovering in the air. Her eyes wandered over to see a dark purple cloud like the one she saw before. Curiosity trickled through her mind as she continued to look at the cloud.

Annabeth and Grover returned. They ran off, but Catherine kept her eyes on the cloud. Moments later, two smaller clouds appeared and within a flash they combined, forming a medium size cloud. She watched as streaks of electricity dance around within it.

"Interesting," Catherine said, writing this down.

Within moments, the cloud disappeared.

"I wonder where it went?" Catherine asked herself.

Shaking her head, Catherine looked over at the next monitor, for it looked like the next fight had already begun.

Meanwhile. Back in the forest, Dionysus hit his back on a tree. Percy rolled on the ground while Chiron grit his teeth, as one hand of The Clay Beast was pressing him down into the ground. While the other morphed into a drill that was creeping closer and closer to his waist.

Percy's eyes flickered as he threw his sword, slicing The Beast's drill hand off. A roar escaped The Beast as Dionysus ran toward it. Jumping in the air, he punched the creature hard in the face.

The Beast stumbled backwards, freeing Chiron to pull his hooves out of the ground. Breathing hard, he nodded to Dionysus and Percy.

Nodding back, Dionysus toss Percy back his sword, which he caught with ease.

The three noticed The Beast was still holding his cut off hand, for it wasn't growing back. Dionysus looked at Percy, whose eyes held a cerulean blue tint. Dionysus smiled. He looked over at Chiron, who cracked his knuckles as his eyes flickered.

A red aura lined Dionysus' body as a cerulean one lined Percy's. Their eyes narrowed as they charged at The Beast with Chiron right behind them.

Jumping in the air, Dionysus aimed his sword at The Beast's head. The Beast raised the only hand he had left, blocking him. But Dionysus didn't stop. He kept pushing down, slowly cutting through.

Percy ran at The Beast, pushing his sword through its stomach on one side, while Chiron pushed his sword through on the other.

The Beast roared as a dark aura formed around it. Its aura was trying its best to push them back, but it was no good for the three of them refuse to give up. As the three of them were cutting deeper and deeper, The Beast's roars turned into screams as The Beast's aura weakened.

The moment the dark aura disappeared, Dionysus sliced through The Beast's hand and down his body, meeting with Chiron and Percy who sliced through from both sides of the stomach stopping at the center.

They stood there as the pieces of The Beast dropped on to the ground. Moments later, they spotted a small piece of clay in the shape of a heart. Percy didn't hesitate as he slice the heart in half. Everyone's aura disappeared as the pieces of The Beast vanished in a dark purple smoke.

Percy dropped to his knees as Dionysus sat down beside him. As Chiron leaned on a tree nearby.

"Wow, what a rush," Percy said.

"Indeed, even though I am immortal, I am almost at my limit here." Dionysus said.

"While I hate to admit it, as am I," Chiron said.

Taking a deep breath, Dionysus finally pushed himself off the ground and helped Percy up. But Percy slumped back down. So, Dionysus put him on Chiron's back, who winced but didn't mind.

Chiron looked back at Percy, who was struggling to keep his eyes open.

Chiron and Dionysus were about to continue walking when they heard footsteps from behind them. They turned around to see Annabeth and Grover walking toward them.

"What did you guys' fight?" Grover asked.

"A giant clay beast, you?" Dionysus asked.

"Four large demon fiends," Grover said.

"I hope whoever Celeste is up against is not as brutal as they were," Annabeth said.

"She'll be fine…. I hope," Dionysus said, whispering the last part.

Back in the lab, Catherine sighed, as she continued writing more notes. She watched as Annabeth, Dionysus, Grover and Chiron with Percy on his back move further into the forest.

But just like last time, a cloud formed where The Beast fell. It hovered there as the cloud from before appeared. Both clouds swirled around each other for a few moments before disappearing.

"What does this mean? "Are the clouds planning something?" Catherine pondered out loud.

Looking at the last monitor, Catherine sighed.

"Two strikes. Please don't strike out."

Back in the forest, Celeste and the dark violet haired woman were matching each other blow for blow. When one would move faster, the other would match their speed. If one hit harder, the other would do the same.

Celeste didn't know why the jewel on the woman's sword glowed when it nicked her shoulder, then her arms, and it almost got her legs, but she moved out of the way in time.

Gritting her teeth, Celeste refuse to be beaten, with a slight flicker in her eyes, Celeste blocked the dark violet haired woman's sword with her own. Pushing her back, Celeste smirked the moment she saw an opening. Within a second, she slipped in and punched the dark violet haired woman in the face, knocking her off her feet.

Tumbling on to the ground, the dark violet hair woman pushed herself up only to get knock back down from a kick in the face.

"Your good…. Violet," Celeste said, pushing out more power.

"Violet?" The woman asked.

"You don't have a name right so I thought of a nickname for you," Celeste said.

"Uh thanks I guess," Violet said. "You are good as well, but I will keep my promise, I will make it back."

"And like I said before, we'll see about that," Celeste said.

Rolling over till she was flat on her back, Violet looked at Celeste, who stood over her. She watched as Celeste brought her sword down aiming, it at her heart. Violet blocked it with her sword, but Celeste kept pushing, adding more force than usual.

"I will make it back… I will get a name."

Violet's eyes flickered as she struggled with Celeste. A thought ran through her mind as she pushed Celeste's sword away and nicked Celeste's legs.

The moment she stumbled backwards; Violet was back on her feet. She looked back at Celeste with her dark aura lining her body. Celeste smiled as a white light lined her body. Both women charged at each other again.

The moment their swords clashed, they pushed each other back and forth.

By this time Annabeth, Grover, Dionysus and Chiron with Percy on his back arrived. The aura from Celeste and Violet were so strong it steadily pushed them back.

"Wow, you weren't kidding, "Grover said.

Dionysus remained silent; his eyes narrowed as he continued watching the fight.

Celeste grit her teeth, gaining the upper hand. She continued pouring more and more power into her attacks. Violet's eyes gave off a hit a worry, but she refused to give up. With each hit Celeste gave it kept pushing Violet back more and more. She even found it hard to keep up with her speed wise.

No, I will make it back!"

Just then, two black clouds appeared. They swirled around both Celeste and Violet. The moment the clouds touched Celeste, a scream escaped her lips as she backed away, rubbing her arm. But her eyes remained fixed on Violet.

The clouds continued spinning around Violet, her eyes glowed as the clouds did the same.

"I will keep my promise."

Celeste charged at Violet again, but this time she was much faster and stronger than before. Even though they were moving like lightning. Celeste was having a hard time keeping up. Celeste pushed out even more power. With trees getting chopped in half and the ground shaking. Both women stared at each other for a few moments before charging at each other one last time.

When the dust settled, Celeste was on her knees, struggling to stand with multiple cuts all over her body. As Violet was floating in the sky, her eyes glowing as enormous power flowed through her.

Aiming her sword at Celeste, a light formed at the end of Violet's blade. It steadily formed into a ball of energy. Within seconds, she blasts it at Celeste. Dionysus jumped in the way. Gritting his teeth as the ball of energy pushed him back while burning his skin. He pushed it out of the way as the blast destroyed a huge rock.

Moments later, Annabeth and Grover stood beside Dionysus with Chiron and Percy, who was awake with a sword in his hand.

Violet's power grew. She raised her hands as a massive ball of dark purple energy formed between them. Growing bigger and bigger she threw the ball of energy right at them.

Dionysus, Annabeth, Grover, Chiron, Percy, and Celeste, grit their teeth as they pushed their auras to the limit. They tried to cut through the energy ball but it was no good, for the power was too much. The moment their auras disappeared it engulfed them.

When the energy diminished and the dust cleared, Chiron, Percy, Annabeth, Grover, Dionysus and Celeste were sprawled out on the ground, unconscious.

"I did it," "I can finally keep my promise," Violet said, as she disappeared.

Back in the lab, Catherine screamed with delight.

She did it. After so many failures, she had finally succeeded.

"Yes!" "Oh Mr. X, you will be happy."

"Happy about what?" a familiar voice said, coming from behind her.

Catherine stopped moving. Fixing up her hair and straightening her jacket, Catherine turned around and bowed to Mr. X, who was standing in the doorway of her office.

"I see you're up to 75% energy usage," Mr. X said.

"Yes," Catherine said, with a smile across her lips. "And the results are amazing."
