After they had both been seated and agreed they'd be trying the chef's tasting menu, Blair unfolded her napkin before placing it on her lap and starting the conversation with Will.

"So when is your flight back this time?"

"Sunday night actually. I decided to stay in New York for the weekend for once. You had said how magical it is at this time of year so I figured I'd experience it myself."

"Yes! There are so many things you need to see and do in New York at Christmas time! I have a few things to do with Serena this weekend, but hopefully I can play tour guide for a bit too. And my flight is Sunday night too! Are you stalking me? Haha"

"I'd love that! And yes, who wouldn't stalk a beauty like you across the Atlantic?"

Chuck Bass wouldn't six years ago…

Blair pushed that thought out of her mind and enjoyed the rest of her date. The remainder of the evening went smoothly and by the time she had washed off her make-up and crawled into her old bed, she felt blissful.

She had met Will on a transatlantic flight a few months back. Serena had told had just asked her to be her maid of honor and she immediately flew home to help her plan the engagement party. Will and her instantly connected. He was an investor based in London, but has recently taken on a project in New York. They chatted the entire flight about New York vs London (with each adamantly defending their home cities as the best) and soon Blair found herself on frequent dates with Will in both London and New York whenever they were in the same city.

It was easy. She wasn't trying to become his wife the way she did with Nate in high school. She wasn't playing games with him like she did with Chuck. It was just dating. They never had a talk about being exclusive but they texted, went to dinners, and exchanged kisses here ans there. He wasn't her boyfriend in her mind but it was certainly nice to date semi steadily.

She had to admit that she was a bit lonely after throwing herself into studies at Cambridge and now into her work. Blair just wasn't quite ready to jump into a big commitment and Will hadn't brought it up either. Maybe that was why she had so easily accepted Chuck's offer of keeping things casual. Since he made being a wife sound so horrid all those years ago, she felt the sting still and the idea of commitment and being a wife left a bitter taste in her mouth.

Commitment…wife… right. Her best friend was about to jump into all that. The whole reason she was here this weekend was to go dress shopping with Serena. Remembering that their first appointment was at 9am tomorrow and she'd need ample time to get ready, not everyone rolled out of bed glowing like a goddess like Serena, she grabbed her phone to set an alarm and head to bed.

Two new massages

She clicked on the first and it didn't surprise her at all.

New Message: Will 3

I'm still thinking about those scallops tonight! So sweet. Almost as sweet as you. Good night, love.

The second message surprised her, but at the same time, it didn't surprise her at all. Nothing had changed.

New Message: Charles Bass

You up?

XxX

Chuck was sitting by his fire and halfway through his second tumbler of post dinner scotch when he glanced at his phone.

10:49pm

It was late and he hadn't gotten a call back from Andrew yet. Either the mystery date was much more mysterious than he thought or the dinner wasn't over. Honestly he didn't know which option bothered him more. Not knowing who his competitors were always bothered him even at work, but thinking about Blair out late with another man seemed equally unsettling. The sudden vibration of his phone shook him from his thoughts and he picked up immediately.

"Mr. Bass"

"Andrew, no need to greetings, did you find anything?"

"Yes, it appears Ms. Waldorf had dinner at Daniel this evening with a Mr. William Bennett. Mr. Bennett appeared to pay for the meal from the credit card charges I could find. And Ms. Waldorf is booked to return to London on flight BA-17 Sunday evening along with Mr. Bennett. They are both booked in first class."

"Did you find out anything else about the man… Mr. Bennett?"

"Just a little bit, but I will look further into it. He appears to be in finance and lives in London, but frequently travels to New York. Ms. Waldorf has dined with him several times over the past few months."

"Thank you, Andrew. Keep me updated."

"Yes, sir."

And with that Chuck hung up with even more questions than answers. So was this Blair's boyfriend or business partner? They dined frequently? And he paid? But if he was a boyfriend then why did she agree to their arrangement? But what would Blair be doing working with someone in finance when she was an interior designer?

The scotch was getting to him a bit and he decided to text her what he usually texted girls on Friday nights. He did feel slightly nervous after hitting send which never happened usually.

And now we wait he thought…

Okay, some Blair POV! Let me know what you guys think. I'm sorry my chapters are so short. I just get small bursts of inspo haha.
