Korra woke up the next day feeling happier than usual, but her chirpy attitude would not last long.

"What!" Korra shouted in disbelief. "Why can't you send him to jail!?"

Lin was clutching the bridge of her nose as she was explaining this to the 5th person today.

"I told you! He's underage! I mean for God's sake, he's thirteen Korra! The least we can do is send him to community service. He's already returned the gold too anyway."

"He injured seven people!"

"Korra, even as the Avatar you can't bend the law. Now go and try not to think about it anymore." Lin ushered Korra out of her office and slammed the door at her face before she could say anything else.

She was still determined to bring this criminal to justice. Even if he was just a kid. She knew that this kid wasn't normal and he probably did all that for fun. He didn't even have to electrocute those poor people! I need to talk to him.

Korra was now walking briskly to the street given to her by Mako's detective friend. He said this is where the Kid was now doing his community service. She turned a corner and saw a singular figure in the distance cleaning the street. She felt a surge of anger at the sight and started walking toward him. She didn't know what exactly she was gonna do but she continued anyway.

"Hey, kid!"

The figure stopped brooming and Korra noticed he was shaking. He SHOULD be terrified. The boy slowly turned toward Korra and his face surprised her. He had a black eye and his lips were split and were bleeding, he still had visible tear streaks on his skin. Korra's anger quickly turned into pity.

"Wh-what happened to you?" Korra bent over to the kid's level which wasn't much different from her height.

"Some men came up to me and interrogated me about the..." The kid was visibly shuddering, possibly because of recalling what happened. He continued with his lips quivering and his voice unsteady. "... things I did. They were friends of one of the guys I electrocuted. And then they..." His breath still unsteady he finished the sentence. "...did this."

Korra's eyes widened, she knew the kid did wrong but he definitely did not deserve this.

She placed a hand on the kid's shoulder and looked at his bruises.

"I think I can patch you up. Sit down here." She ushered the kid to a dirty bench on the sidewalk. After sitting him down she healed the wounds using her waterbending.

"Woah..." The kid muttered to himself after getting healed. He was touching his skin which was now free of any injury.

"Gee Thanks Avatar Korra!" He was now smiling widely at her and she felt genuinely pleased with the kid.

"It's no problem, just don't cause any more trouble, it's not worth it." The kid nodded at her and stood up and continued cleaning the street. Korra was just about to leave when a question sprung to her mind.

"Hey kid, what's your name?"

The kid looked to the avatar and put on a small smirk.

"Hiko."
