AUTHOR'S NOTE: This was based on AlphaGaurdian16's 'Red Circles', I liked the concept of Hank essentially being Connor's dad and decided I couldn't wait until the story was updated :P Go check their story out!

NOVEMBER 25TH, 2038, THE PRECINCT

12:35 PM

Hank was at his desk in the precinct, drumming his fingers on his desk. It'd been exactly two weeks since he'd last seen Connor at the chicken feed, and he was beginning to wonder if he'd ever see him again...
'Damnit, kid,' He thought, reaching for his cup of coffee. He'd been staying up far later than usual, waiting for... Anything. A call, a visit, yet there was no sign of Connor's return any time soon. 'Where are you off to, now...?' That was when a new case popped up on his terminal. "Finally, something to do!" He accidentally said out loud.

That's when Gavin decided to run his mouth, from across the bullpen. "Are you seriously that bored? Some people are trying to concentrate, here.."

"Fuck off, Reed. Not like you'd ever actually try on a case."

"Like you'd ever finish a case without plastic's help."

"Nice chatting, asshole." Hank snapped. He sighed and checked his terminal to see what the case was.

The terminal read: "Thirium stains and possible murder weapon reported near 115 Michigan Drive*"

"That's my house, shit!" He shot out of his chair.

Gavin once again decided his input was required. "What, you hiding the body there, or something?"

"What!? No! Look, can you shut up for once!?"

"Short-tempered as ever, I see."

Hank ignored Gavin, as he hurriedly left the precinct to investigate the murder. Maybe he was just being paranoid, but he had a sneaking suspicion that the murder victim was none other than the young deviant he'd grown to call his son. He decided not to think about it.

'It's fine, everything's fine, nobody would want to kill the kid, I shouldn't be worrying.'

But the old man continued to worry throughout the entire drive there.

THE CRIME SCENE

12:47 PM

Hank arrived at the scene, stressed out of his mind. It was one thing that a murder happened in front of his own home, but the victim being his kid? That was even worse! He took a deep breath to steel himself, as he got out of his car. "Never expected to see caution tape surrounding my own house." Chris walked over. "Yeah... Neither have I. Luckily for you, the scene's outside of your property."

"Good thing, I don't like the idea of being a suspect for murder."

"We're getting an analysis on the blood right now, so we can find out who the victim was."

"Alright. What was the murder weapon?"

"Knife, it's been brought to the station to be checked out."

"Was there a body? Any other evidence of murder?"

"Nope."

"Meaning the victim's still alive..."

"What?"

"Why would they move the body and not the knife?"

"You make a good point..."

"Yep, okay... You guys investigate the scene and I'll search for the victim."

"Where would you even start? There's no evidence."

"I'm gonna... Play on a hunch. Trust me on this."

"Alright..."

Hank went back to his car. 'If I'm right here, Connor was trying to make his way back to my place, after something happened... He could've gotten jumped since the deviant community isn't very kind towards him... Assholes. But then where would he end up if he survived...?'

That was when he had an idea.

*115 Michigan Drive is Hank's possible address if he continued living there after Cole died. (According to the Detroit: Become Human wiki.)
