Chapter two
Dispair
Izuku walked into his usual café, taking in the fresh scent of morning coffee, he sat down at a booth and picked up his menu. "So, what will it be today? Coffee? Expresso? Or how about decaf?" Mockingly Asked Brightside. "Just as expected of a parasite with no taste." Muttered Izuku. "Alright sir, what would you li-." Asked the pink-skinned girl as she cut herself off. "Oh hey Izuku! Long-time no see." Exclaimed the pink skinned girl. "Oh, hey Mina. "Replied Izuku. "How did you recognise me? It's been a long while since you last saw me."
"Well, it's kind of hard to not recognise someone iron cold eyes like yours." Complimented the girl. "Thanks…" Replied Izuku. "Alright, now what do you like?" chuckled Mina. "I'll have an expresso." Quietly chuckled Izuku. "With extra shots?" asked Mina. Izuku nodded. "Alright, it should be ready in a couple of minutes.'' Said Mina as she walked toward the counter. "You really are a creature of habit, aren't you?" Asked the parasite. "Well, what do you expect? You take my body on a joyride so often that caffeine barely affects me anymore." Quietly stated Izuku. "Alright, good point."
The cafes doorbell then went off, which wasn't normal. Izuku was normally the only person in the café this early in the morning. "Better keep an eye on that…" Warned the parasite. "Didn't know a parasite could be paranoid." Coldly remarked Izuku. A silent squelching sound suddenly rung into Izuku's ears. "You're not going to like this…" Whispered the parasite. "What do you me-." Izuku cut himself off as he realised, he was seeing a couple people straight behind him talking to Mina. He quickly covered the back of his head, and angerly whispered. "What are you doing!? And why is him of all people here?!"
Izuku was panicking, like really panicking. Not only was he here. And the damn parasite was going to reveal him as its host. All Izuku fucking wanted was some coffee. "All right you fucking parasite, don't do anything. Otherwise, we get caught and I suffer the consequences."
"No need to get your hair in a tangle." Sarcastically spat the parasite. Izuku calmed slightly at this, he had learned that sarcasm usually meant that the parasite would stop its nonsense, he then heard a squelching sound and could no longer see the people behind him. "Hey Izuku? Earth to Izuku." Chided the pink skinned girl. "Huh- Oh! Sorry Mina!" Apologised Izuku. "Mind elsewhere?" Asked the girl. "Yup." Bluntly replied Izuku. "All right, now here's your drink." Mina then placed the cup on the table then walked off. Izuku sighed and took a swig of his expresso.
"Hey Mina?" Asked a girl sitting at the counter. Mina noticed the girl's question and quickly approached. "What's up Ochako?"
"Whos the guy you were talking to?" Asked Ochako. "He's just one of my regulars, quite an odd fellow." Replied Mina.
"How so?" Asked the pink cheeked girl. "Hmm… lets see, he has iron cold eyes, and his hair is just like bakug-." "What about me pinky?" Coldly asked bakugo. "Oh! Sorry, I didn't even notice you bakugo, why so quiet?"
"He's just not taking his loss to Brightside well." Explained Ochaco. "Oh! That makes sense."
"HEY! STOP TALKING ABOUT ME!" Yelled the ash blonde. "jeez, looks like someone decided to start speaking…" Mumbled Mina.
Izuku then walked up to the counter placed some money on the counter. "Thanks for the capichino." Izuku began to walk to the door when a familiar hand grabbed his shoulder. "Hey you." growled the familiar voice of Bakugo. "H-hi." Swiftly replied Izuku. "What do you need?"
"Have you heard of Brightside?" Bakugo asked the trembling grey eyed boy.
Izuku was trembling, years of abuse came flooding back to him, he felt his scars start to burn, the burning started to intensify, as if the scars decided to re-ignite the explosions that caused them.
The burning hurt the most under the ash-blonde's hand, smoke seemed to rise from the hand. In a flash, the grey eyed boy flashed backward, leaving the boy's grip. Then quickly made several strikes to the chest and to the neck of the ash-blonde, then he flew backward into a booth.
Izuku's eyes were wide with fear, his body was trembling immensely, tears threatening to run down his face. He stumbled out of his fighting position, stared at the body of Bakugo, crumpled in the booth. Then without another look at anybody else, he vanished in a blur, sending napkins and a layer of dust in the the area.
"Bakugo!" Mina ran over to the barly conscious boy.
Ochaco quickly ran toward to the ajar door, coughing in the upturned dust, she looked outside, the boy named Izuku had just vanished, there were no signs that he even went outside. She turned back to head back inside just as Mina turned to her: "Bakugo seems to be okay, just had the wind knocked out of him, and a swift chop to his neck. But he's okay."
"That's pretty good, at least he's not hurt. But why would Izuku do that? And how did he move so fast?" Asked Ochaco while sitting next to the standing Mina.
"I honestly don't know, he seemed to move way faster than Lida, he didn't even raise a breeze, the only reason all the dust and napkins flew all over the place is because he flew out the door so fast."
"Yea… Also, do you think this Izuku guy is okay? He just freaked out."
"I don't know. Well all I know is that he needs to apologise to Bakugo."
"A-agreed." Ochaco didn't quite agree with her own statement, Mina didn't get to see Izuku's face. His face was filled with fear, panic, and the most gut-wrenching thing she could have never hoped to see, trauma. There were tears even threatening to pour out of his eyes. Ochaco could only hope he was okay.
The wind was howling like a pack wolves in Izuku's ears, he hadn't stopped running since he ran out the door of the café, he nerves wouldn't calm, his heart refused to stop stampeding like a rampaging bull, and the burning, WOULD. NOT. STOP.
It was like he was on fire while walking on molten metal. He had run til he was just down the hill of the U.A school building. He quickly hid in an alley, and sat against a cold dumpster, while quietly sobbing, waiting for the burning to cease.
Brightside had no idea what to do, he was never really good at emotions with any of his hosts, and despite Izuku being the most broken of his hosts, he showed the most outright emotion. He did his best to console Izuku, but he was completely unable to do anything. "Uhmm, whould you feel better if didn't use your body for like a week? A month? Name your time and ill won't take control." Said Brightside trying to console Izuku. "Just take control… I don't want to feel this pain anymore…" quietly sobbed Izuku.
"As you wish."
Izuku's body then stopped shuddering and the sounds of sobbing ceased instantly. Izuku's hair then turned a deep blue, a mask of the same colour covering hid face, though it was missing its usual cruel smile, it was replaced with a sad face, the mouth slit was inversed into a frown, and the eye holes took a similar shape. The vein-like tendrils then wrapped themselves around his arms and stopped at the base of his fingers, and his feet were replaced by the bird like feet with feather like fur.
Brightside then stood up with a grace similar to that of a member of a royal family, he lifted his hood up to cover his face, and then left the alley. Brighside decided to walk back to their apartment, after all, even though he was a different colour, he was still recognizable.
He walked street after street after street, and yet it seemed like he was barley making any progress. "Damn, how far did you run Izuk-." He suddenly walked into something, no, someone. Brightside had barely even flinched, while the person he bumped into fell to the ground, grunting in pain. After all, walking into him felt like walking into a steel wall.
"I'm so sorry, *kero*, I wasn't looking where I was going." It was a girl, who… Ribbited?
"Its no real problem." Calmly replied Brightside with a false apologetic tone while raising his hand to help the girl up. "Thank you-." The girl quickly cut herself off as soon as she glimpsed his face, then instinctively stepped back then readied herself in a battle stance.
"Calm down. I'm not in the mood to kill you." Brightside stated in an annoyed tone.
The girl didn't let her guard down for even a second. "Why should I trust you? *kero* And why are you blue?" Questioned the girl, injecting authority in her voice. Brightside easily saw that the authority in her voice was false, she was terrified.
"To answer your first question, I would've killed you by now. And my host is not in the best shape right now."
"What- What do you mean by host?"
The girl immediately dropped her guard and tilted her head.
"Interpret it as you wish."
Brightside then walked away without even looking back at her, he then walked behind a corner, vanishing from sight. S
