'' So, as you can see, my newest waistcoat design is a bit…unorthodox, but I assure you, its still fantastic. The houndstooth pattern is perfect for any meeting, whether it be meeting the parents, first date or even a stuffy old board room meeting.''

On a computer screen, five older men and women discussed amongst themselves for a good four minutes before one of the people spoke '' Well Mr. Hummel-Anderson, we've thought about it and we wish too discuss matters further-

'' Waaah!'' filled the house, Kurt wincing at the sound.

'' Everything alright Mr. Hummel-Anderson'' one of the men asked.

'' Oh fine, its just my daughter'' Kurt laughed nervously, muting himself as he shouted for his husband.

'' Jeez, Kurt, its 4 in the morning, why're you up?'' Blaine rubbed his eyes.

'' Our daughter is wailing Blaine, how are you asleep?!''

'' Headphones, and for Gd's sake, why're you yelling at me?''

'' Sorry honey, its early is all. Can you check on her?''

Blaine pecked his husband's cheek. '' Of course I can.''

'' Right, where were we?'' Kurt said nervously.

'' Well Mr. Hummel-Anderson…we at Perfect thread have one thing to say.''

Oh fuck here it goes the man thought. '' Y-yes?''

'' Welcome to our team.''

Kurt covered his gasping mouth. '' Thank you all so much. I've always wanted by designs to not just be regional.''

'' Well sir, welcome aboard. Now go get some sleep, its 4am'' one of the people laughed as the screen went black.

Now free, Kurt made his way down the hall to his daughter's bedroom. Blaine currently singing come what may to her.

'' Hey'' Kurt smiled, flicking on the light.

'' Hey yourself. How'd it go?'' Blaine handed over their daughter.

'' Well, Caroline can now sleep easier knowing that her daddy's got designs in Northern England.''

'' Kurt, that's' incredible'' Blaine gasped, hugging his husband.

'' Yep.''

'' What was that? You sounded so…dead.''

'' Sorry, its just that well…we have a problem.''

'' Ok? What is it?''

'' Your studio's doing so well, I'm now not just a regional designer, we never get any time to ourselves anymore. Its always either work, our families, glee lunches or Caroline. I love her more than life itself but we need a break.''

'' Ok? But how? We don't have any sitters available, my parents are in Cabo, yours are currently in Washington, Finn and Rachel won't stop talking about their wedding. We haven't got any of our family on hand who can help us.''

'' Maybe not blood family members.''

'' What're you getting at?'' Blaine asked, Kurt putting his sleeping child back in her crib.

'' Well, remember the last glee lunch? At Britt and Santana's?'' Kurt answered, whispering.

'' Yeah, Quinn and Puck are pregnant'' Blaine matched the tone.

'' Well, the way we prepped for parenting was by babysitting your niece and nephew right?''

'' Yeah- oh, I get you. You want us to let Puck and Quinn take Caroline for a night?''

'' Try a weekend. Think about it, us at a hotel at Lake Erie, so romantic.''

'' Fine. But two conditions.''

'' Ok?''

'' One, it's a log cabin.''

'' Ugh fine. The other?''

'' We go back to sleep right now.''

'' Can't.''

'' Why not?''

'' I'm already calling them'' Kurt smirked, his phone clicking as Quinn groggily picked up.

'' Hello?'' she said weakly.

'' Quinn, hey. So listen, you and Puck want some practice for when your kid's born?''

Quinn put the phone under her pillow for a second, shaking her husband awake.

'' What? Are we getting ready for a shitty 9AM flight or something?''

'' No, its Kurt and Blaine.''

'' Its 4AM.''

'' I know, Kurt wants to know if we want to practice taking care of a kid.''

'' Sure, why not?'' Puck rolled over.

Quinn dug out the device. '' We're in. When though?''

'' Tomorrow, 4pm'' Kurt answered, quickly putting the phone down.

'' We have to find new friends'' Quinn sighed, falling back asleep.

The following day saw Quinn and Puck outside on their friends' patio, getting a rundown on everything they could expect to happen.

'' Alright, so, first off, feeding'' Kurt said, handing the pair a pen and a legal pad.

'' I think I know how to feed an infant'' Quinn breathed.

Kurt and Blaine looked at each other before laughing. '' Oh, oh you're serious?'' Blaine answered.

'' Yes.''

'' Well in any case. In case you aren't eager for a one year old to get to 2nd base with you, we have formula in the fridge, and a cannister in the pantry. You should be fine, but if not, the TARGET up the road should stock the stuff'' Kurt explained.

'' Her nap schedule is pretty constant. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. The morning one is around 60- 120 minutes long. We either put Caroline down at 9 or 10am and wake her up at 11 or 12. The afternoon nap is at 3 until 5'' Blaine added.

Puck, who surprisingly had been taking notes on the legal pad, shot his hand up.

'' Yes?'' Blaine raised an eyebrow, confused.

'' What about toys and stuff, anything specific there?''

'' Not really, just whatever's nearest to you. Also, books. We've started her on the same stuff we wished our parents read us'' Kurt added. '' We're currently reading her Charles Dickens. We just finished Great Expectations, now we're starting A tale of two cities.''

'' Isn't that a bit…advanced?'' Quinn asked.

'' Oh definitely. But once she starts preschool next year we're hoping she's going to be the smartest kid there'' Kurt high fived Blaine.

'' Ok? Is that all?'' Puck raised an eyebrow.

'' Oh my dear boy no'' Kurt breathed. '' Now, strolls and the park. We go to the park down the road and we do not go on that damn slide.''

'' Why?'' Quinn asked. '' its safe isn't it?''

'' No Quinn, it isn't. Its an evil death machine. If you'll excuse me, I have to go check my suitcase to make sure I haven't missed my straight clothes.''

As Kurt walked out, Blaine leaned in. '' Take her to the slide. I do it with her a lot. Its super fun. We just don't tell Kurt because he's afraid of them.''

'' Why? I went on them as a kid, gave my first wedgie next to one too'' Puck shrugged.

'' Well…you see, when Kurt was 5 his mom took him to the park. Once there he insisted that he could go all the way down the slide, he shot off and landed in a rose bush. He had to go to the ER to pick out all those thorns from his body.''

'' That's why he also avoids roses'' Quinn pointed out. And why she made you dig up that rose bush in your yard.''

'' Correct. So, I'm going to say goodbye to my daughter and make sure my husband doesn't wear his straight clothes.''

'' Alright, so…what do we do?'' Puck asked.

A few hours had gone by, during this time the pair had fed Caroline using the formula in the canister and had put Caroline in front of the TV.

'' Well, why don't we talk? I mean, she's pretty entertained by whatever this show is?'' Quinn pointed to a show about some singing cars.

'' Why not? So, after these last couple hours how're you feeling about our future as parents?''

'' Not bad. But the thing is…Beth.''

Puck was taken back. He always knew that Beth was a sore subject for Quinn. The child didn't have much to do with either of them, besides a few visits a year.

'' What about her?''

'' We never had any experiences with her. After Shelby, it didn't get better. What if I'm a terrible mother?'' Quinn began to sob into Puck's chest.

'' Hey hey, its going to be ok. Look, yeah we don't have the best relationship with our daughter, but we were kids back then. We couldn't even vote. We're almost 30 now, we can handle this.''

Quinn sniffed. '' Thanks egghead.''

'' No problem Reno'' Puck looked at the fit-bit he had on. '' Uh oh'' the man scooped up Caroline, causing her to wail.

'' Noah, what was that for?!'' Quinn snapped.

'' Its bedtime. Plus, I have a really good idea of what to do for it.''

'' What's that?''

'' In the living room, there's an old guitar from McKinley. We need it.''

'' Ok?'' Quinn left to fetch the instrument, not sure what was going to happen.

'' Perfect. Hey hey, its ok, I'm right here'' Puck said bouncing the child in his arms, Quinn soon returning.

'' Ok, what's the plan?'' Quinn returned with the instrument.

'' We'' Puck handed Quinn the infant. '' Are performing a lullaby. Lady's choice.''

'' Really? Alright then. I pick the song from Mr. Shue's first wedding; we've got tonite.''

'' Done'' Puck began to strum as Quinn put the child in the crib. Soon she began to sing.

''I know it's late, I know you're weary, I know your plans don't include me. Still here we are, both of us lonely. Longing for shelter from all that we see. Why should we worry, no one will care girl, look at the stars so far away. We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow? We've got tonight, babe, why don't you stay?''

Puck, eager to contribute also started to hum a few bars. ''Deep in my soul I've been so lonely. All of my hopes fading away. I've longed for love like everyone else does
I know I'll keep searching even after today. So there it is girl, I've said it all now. And here we are babe, what do you say? We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow? We've got tonight, babe. Why don't you stay?''

Soon the pair both decided to sing. '' I know it's late, I know you're weary. I know your plans don't include me. Still here we are, both of us lonely, both of us lonely. We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow? Let's make it last, let's find a way. Turn out the light, come take my hand now, we've got tonight, babe, why don't you stay? Why don't you stay?''

Looking down, the pair saw Caroline now happily dozing as she playfully nibbled on a stuffed Eeyore.

'' Wow, we did it'' Quinn smiled down.

'' Its only been a night. But we proved it, we can totally do this parenting thing!'' Puck accidentally said in a loud manner, accidentally waking Caroline.

'' Or…maybe not'' Quinn deadpanned.

Do I enjoy bullying my characters? Yes. Will I stop? No. Thanks for reading y'all, so unfortunately I'm going to start being a bit less regular with my updates since I start a new job on Monday. But regardless, remember to stay safe and to stay awesome!
