It was 2:50 pm. Azula had just finished her last class about twenty minutes ago. Now, she sits on a chair with a couple of books and her laptop, lying on the wooden desk. She considers the library her second favorite place to sit down and study because of its tranquility and ambiance.

Although the library was as silent as a cemetery, she couldn't help but feel like everyone's eyes were looking at her. She was sure that she could hear her name uttered in a whisper in people's conversations.

Beautiful, intelligent, fierce, and perfect. These are the traits that people see in Azula whenever she graces them with her presence. All of the girls envy her. They envy her popularity, the way she walks, and how she talks. They have even tried to copy her, but none of them could match her unique beauty and charm, much to their dismay. It's as if she was born perfect. Even the boys in school felt genuinely intimidated by her, to the point where they couldn't even engage in a conversation until yesterday, someone finally did.

Azula gently closed the book that she was reading and sighed as her mind started replaying the events of yesterday afternoon. From the boy handing her the pretty flower to her burning it afterward. Her lips curled up in a slight smirk when she remembered his reaction to the mean gesture that she had made.

Even after that, she kept asking herself the questions that kept popping up in her mind after that encounter. Was he really attracted to me? What did he see in me? Azula thought.

The school bell ringing brought an abrupt end to Azula's racing thoughts. She quickly got up from her seat, packed her belongings, and exited the library. Azula walked towards the corridor where she found her locker. Before she could unload all of her belongings, she noticed that many students were rushing to go upstairs, where the school gym was.

Visibly confused and curious at the same time, she closed her locker and went to check what all the commotion was all about. Once she was inside the school gym, she saw that many people were gathered in a large circle, and in the middle of that circle was none other than the boy who gave her the pretty flower yesterday. In front of him were a couple of teenagers that looked a little too aggressive.

Knowing what the students were chanting, Azula could tell that a fight was about to ensue. She watched intently, her amber eyes glued to the young student holding a boomerang in his hand. Is he really about to use that in a fight? She thought, rolling her eyes at the mere thought. A few seconds later, she heard a voice from behind calling her.

"Azula?" A girl said.

Azula glanced behind her to see one of her best friends in the entire school.

"Ty Lee? What is going on here?" Azula asked.

"Those bullies are trying to pick on my new friend's best friend!" Ty Lee exclaimed. "We have to stop them before somebody gets seriously hurt!"

"Well, inform the principal about it," Azula said, placing a hand on her hip.

"I can't. The principal is absent today." Ty Lee said. "Oh, what should we do?"

"Then what about my fuddy-duddy uncle? Why don't you go to his office and ask for help?" Azula asked, raising an eyebrow at her friend.

"Oh yeah! I forgot that your uncle is the school's guidance counselor." Ty Lee said, slapping her pretty little head after remembering the fact. "Thanks, Azula!"

She gives Azula a quick hug, which annoys the fierce girl.

"Ugh, just go," Azula growled, making Ty Lee giggled. After Ty Lee left, she focused her attention on what was happening in the middle of the gym.

Aang was making his way towards the crowd of students, trying to get to Sokka. When he got into the circle, he immediately approached him.

"Sokka, don't do this," Aang told. "Jet is going to hurt you. Let's leave."

"I'll leave once he gives back Momo," Sokka said.

"We can come back for Momo tomorrow once the principal is back," Aang said.

"That's not the point I'm trying to make, Aang. I am not just here for Momo. I'm here because I want to take a stand against these bullies." Sokka told.

"You watch your mouth, ponytail." Jet told, with an almost evil grin on his face. "I didn't get a chance to beat you up yesterday after some punk with a scar got involved, remember that?"

"Actually, yeah, I do remember. I even remember you punching a concrete wall. Talk about ouch. You need to put some glasses on next time." Sokka retorted. "Oh, and I've seen grannies hit far better than you."

Almost everyone in the gym burst into laughter, making Jet more furious. Even though Aang found Sokka's remarks funny, he couldn't laugh because all Sokka was doing was making Jet angry.

"See that? You're humiliating me again." Jet said fist clenched.

"No, Jet, you're the one humiliating yourself. Bullying students, making fun of them, and worst of all, snatching innocent animals are actions only done by cowards." Sokka told. "And Jet, you're the mother of all cowards."

"You asshole!" Jet bellowed. "You're fricking dead!" He ran towards Sokka and tackled him hard on the floor, dropping his boomerang. Jet was on top of him, punching Sokka with his fists. Fortunately, Sokka blocked the punches by keeping his hands up.

The student's cheering was so loud that the whole fiasco could be mistaken for an actual boxing match inside a large stadium. While the crowd was in awe of what was happening, someone in the stands found the whole thing nonsensical and downright atrocious. That person was Azula.

Azula glanced at her watch and saw that she was running late for her essential workshop training. If she left now, she could still arrive on time.

She was about to turn her back and leave the gym, but she glanced back at the fight. She saw Sokka helplessly being pinned on the floor, flooded by nonstop punches that he somehow kept blocking with his arms. Aang tried to intervene, but Jet's friends grabbed him and pulled him to the side.

With nobody from the crowd doing anything to stop this madness, she didn't want to wait until her fat old uncle arrived. So Azula decided that she had seen enough. She dropped her bag on the floor and marched to the sea of students.

Jet was enraged because he couldn't land a single blow on Sokka's face. So he decided to grab Sokka by the neck and choke him.

"Ain't so funny now, huh ponytail?" Jet told with gritted teeth.

Sokka was struggling to breathe from Jet's pressure on his neck. He has to think of something quickly before he loses consciousness. With one swift move, Sokka turned Jet over to the ground. Sokka was now on top of Jet, but Jet still got his hands on Sokka's neck. Sokka punched Jet to his stomach, making the bully groan from the pain.

Before Sokka could throw another punch at Jet, his friends, Smellerbee and the humongous pipsqueak grabbed Sokka and lifted him off from the ground. They held on to both of his arms tightly. Sokka couldn't break free from their grasps.

Jet got up from the ground and took Sokka's boomerang lying on the floor. He sauntered toward Sokka, spinning the boomerang on his hand while laughing.

"What's the matter? You can't move?" Jet mocked. He examined Sokka's boomerang with a disgusted look on his face. "Why are you carrying this toy around? Hah! What are you, nine years old?"

Jet and his friends laughed at Sokka while some of the students were starting to feel a little disturbed now.

"This toy is garbage, just like you." Jet sneered. He then threw the boomerang far across the gym. Sokka looked in the direction of where his boomerang was going. After a few seconds of waiting, he was surprised when it didn't come back. The confusion on Sokka's face made Jet burst into laughter. "What? You thought that dumb thing was going to hit me on the head, didn't you? How stupid do you think I am?"

"I think you are a complete and utter fool."

Jet frowned at the insult directed at him. He looked around the circle of students surrounding him.

"Who the hell said that?" Jet growled with a harsh tone.

"I did."

Jet turned around and watched a bunch of students stepping aside, revealing a teenage girl sporting ripped black jeans and a red and black striped long-sleeved shirt with charcoal black boots. The girl walked forward and looked at Jet with stone-cold eyes. If looks could kill, Jet would have died on the spot.

Sokka smiled in glee when he saw his crush, Azula, holding his trusty old boomerang.

"You've got some nerve-" Jet was interrupted by Azula.

"Listen, I don't have time to play your ridiculous games. I want you to tell your little merry band of imbeciles to release those boys and the lemur immediately or else." Azula told.

Jet laughed after that statement from Azula. He glanced behind to look at his friends and found that they weren't laughing with him. Instead of laughing, they were feeling very nervous and somewhat scared of the intimidating girl in front of them; heck, all of the students inside the gym were dead silent. Jet looked around and watched as students that surrounded them started fleeing away from the gym as if they feared for their lives.

When they were the only ones inside the gym, Azula grew more impatient by the second. Jet looked at her with confusion wrapped around his face.

"Why did everybody leave?" Jet asked. "Don't tell me people are afraid of this little girl."

Jet's friends looked like they were all shaking in their boots.

"Um, Jet, maybe we should go," Smellerbee suggested.

"You should listen to her, Jet," Sokka told.

"Shut up!" Jet yelled at Sokka. He then confronted Azula and glared at her right in her amber eyes. "Who the hell do you think you are, huh? Nobody's going to tell me what to do. I do whatever I want to do, and there's not a damn thing you'll do about it!"

Jet tries to shove Azula, but he ends up pushing the air. Azula swept Jet's feet as quickly as a cat, knocking him down on the ground. Before he could get up, Azula pinned him down and pointed her index and middle fingers near his neck. A tiny spark of blue fire came out of her fingertips. Jet's eyes grow wide when he learns that Azula is a fire bender.

"Well?" Azula said.

After what had happened, Jets friends ran away out of the gym in sheer fear, leaving Aang and Sokka free from their clutches.

"Hey, wait! Don't leave me here!" Jet shouted with a panicked tone in his voice.

Aang went to get the bag where Momo was contained and opened it to let the little lemur out.

"Mom, I'm glad you're okay, buddy," Aang said, embracing the little lemur with a hug.

They heard footsteps coming from the gym entrance. Ty Lee and the school guidance counselor, Iroh, have finally arrived. Now Jet was in real trouble. Azula stood up and dusted herself off while looking at her uncle Iroh.

"Ah yes, my niece. It is nice to see you on this pleasant afternoon." Iroh greeted with a sincere smile. Azula only rolled her eyes in response to Iroh's kind greetings. She did not appreciate his delay in this matter. "And who do we have here?"

Iroh looks down at the ground where Jet is sitting.

"That's the bully I was talking to you about, counselor Iroh." Ty Lee pointed.

"So you're Jet?" Iroh asked. He held out a hand to the young teenager, offering him a hand to help him up from the ground. Of course, Jet ignores his help and stands up by himself. "I see we have much to talk about. Tomorrow, please come to my office early in the morning. We will have a very long discussion about your behavior while enjoying a nice cup of Jasmine tea."

Jet took one last look at Sokka and Azula with a defeated frown on his face before leaving the gym along with guidance counselor Iroh.

"I believe this belongs to you," Azula told, giving Sokka back his boomerang.

"Heh, I guess boomerang does always come back," Sokka said with a goofy smile.

"Oh please, that thing only came back because of me," Azula told, pouting her lips.

"Yeah, you're right," Sokka said, scratching the back of his head. "I have to tell you. If you didn't come and save us back there, who knows what could have happened."

"You could have been beaten to a pulp?" Ty Lee told.

"True," Aang said, a big smile on his face.

Azula looked at her watch again, and she knew that there wasn't any hope of her coming to her workshop training on time now. She sighed in disdain. Believe it or not, this was the first time she was late for something. She thought of the consequences she would face afterward, but suddenly, she felt her cheeks burn a hot crimson color. She looked to see what caused this reaction from her, and she saw Sokka holding her hand.

"What are you doing?" Azula asked, a hint of confusion on her face.

"Sorry if I startled you." Sokka smiled, his hand ever so gentle with holding Azula's. "I just wanted to say thank you." He leaned over and kissed Azula on the back of her hand.

Azula felt her spine shiver from the gesture that Sokka had shown. She felt her heart skip a beat for a brief moment. Her mind went blank, and somehow it didn't feel like they were inside a school gym. It felt like they were floating in space, with bright and beautiful stars surrounding them, gleaming and twinkling all around.

What was this mysterious sensation that she was experiencing? She thought. It was just like yesterday when he gave me the flower, but somehow the feeling was much stronger now.

Could it be love?
