Hello readers, a little while ago I started a fanfiction named I can help you. I felt disappointed in how I went about the story as I didn't have enough planned out and it didn' go as deep as I wanted to. So I am choosing to remove that story and start a new story with many of the similar events that the original one had. I'm sorry to fans of that story, but I just wanted to start out fresh. This story will take place in highschool compared to the original story which took place in season 20. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the story.
17 year old Stan Marsh stared down at the food in his hands. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a lot more peanut butter than jelly for his Thursday lunch. He made it in a rush as he had woken up late for school and needed to get there quickly. Basic meals and food seemed to be all he was eating at this point, from sandwiches with a bit of meat or turkey slapped on for lunch, to 2 minute microwave meals that his mom would stock for him at dinner.
Homemade meals made with his mothers love felt like a distant memory ever since his parents divorced. Stan recalled the night like it was just yesterday. He had just entered the 6th grade and was still living at Tegridy farms. He recalled burying himself underneath the sheets of his bed as he heard yelling a few rooms away from his parents' room. It had become a regular occurrence for a while, but every time it happened, the yelling got louder and angrier. He could make out words like whore and slut from his father and asshole and selfish dick from his mother. Suddenly, his door swung open and his mother walked in. The next few moments were a blur as Stan recalled his mother telling him to get up and that they were leaving, Stan didn't even get to pack his things as he was suddenly dragged to his mothers car with his sister as they drove off with his screaming father yelling from the porch.
After staying at a local hotel for a few days, his mother was able to secure the old house and they moved back into it with one less person living there. After a few weeks passed, the papers were signed and Sharon and Randy Marsh were no longer married. This wasn't like it was when he was younger and his parents separated a few times before getting back together, his parents were done and they were never getting back together. Stan liked to think that was when he started to feel depressed, but he couldn't recall the exact point. All he could remember was sadness as he now lived alone with his mother as Shelly had gone off to college a few years ago.
"Hey Stan, STAN"
Stan's thoughts were suddenly interrupted and he turned to his best friend Kyle Broflovski. The lunch table that he was sitting at today consisted of his regular friends. Him, Kyle, Eric Cartman, Kenny Mcormack, and Butters. The group was relatively the same as they always were. Stan had his hair grown out a bit so that his black hair was showing through his hat. Kyle's afro also calmed down, allowing him to wear his green hat less than usual. A recommendation from his current girlfriend Jenny Simons. Eric had actually managed to lose a few pounds and was less overweight than he used to be. He was nowhere as skinny as the rest of the guys, but he was no longer that overweight, though his attitude hadn't changed one bit. Kenny still wore his orange Parka everywhere he went, though he stopped wearing the hood a long time ago. Lastly, Butters had grown his blonde hair much longer.
"Yeah Kyle" he stated simply. Kyle frowned at his friends emotionless response
"I just wanted to know if you're gonna be at Clydes party tomorrow."
Stan shrugged, "Yeah, I'm going with Wendy." he answered before finally taking a bite of the sandwich.
"Oh cool, me and Jenny are going too."
"It still shocks me that you are going out." Kenny piped up
"Yeah well, we got assigned on a project together in history and we sort of just clicked." Kyle said before blushing a little bit
"Just make sure she doesn't crap her pants when you're making out." Cartman said giving an evil grin and cackling
"Says the one who caused that Fat-ass" Kyle yelled back at him angrily
"Hey, there's no evidence that I did that." Cartman fired back
"Everyone knows it was you." Kyle replied beet red angry
The two started doing their usual fighting as the rest of the table chuckled. Stan turned to talk with the other two guys.
"What about you guys you gonna be there."
"Yep, me and Bebe are going together." Kenny replied
"I managed to secure a date with Red" Butters piped up
"Nice," Stan replied simply before continuing to eat his sandwich. The two boys noticed Stan's lack of excitement with the conversation. Butters chose to say something.
"Why Stan, you don't seem very happy about it. Aren't you excited to go with Wendy."
Stan swallowed the food in his mouth before speaking, "I guess, I mean she just goes off and talks with her friends half the time."
"Well we're going with the rest of her friends so I'm sure it will be different this time." Kenny responded
Stan simply shrugged before returning to his lunch. After a while Cartman and Kyle's argument ended, which gave Butter the opportunity to ask Cartman something.
"What about you Eric, you going with anyone to the party."
"Yeah, i'm going with fucking Heidi"
This response surprised the whole table and caught their attention.
"Wait, doesn't Heidi hate parties." Kyle asked
"Yeah but I was able to convince her to go if I cut back on eating meat."
Stan's eyes narrowed at that response as it was obvious that Cartman wasn't going to cut back on meat. To everyone's surprise a year ago, Heidi and Cartman started dating again. Their relationship was no was near as bad as the one back in elementary school as Cartman wasn't threatening to kill himself and Heidi didn't gain any weight. But it still wasn't good as it usually devolved into Cartman angering or upsetting her before following up with a half-assed apology from him.
A few more conversations were had between the 5 boys before the bell soon rang and lunch came to an end. Stan was able to drag himself through the rest of the school day, just barely paying attention to whatever his teachers had to say. His grades were decent but they could be better. The final bell soon rang and Stan started to head towards the parking lot where his car was. He had no reason to stay any longer as he quit football a long time ago much to his coaches and South Park sports fans dismay.
"Stan," he heard a yell behind him. He turned to see his girlfriend Wendy Testaburger going up to him.
Before he even had a time to respond, Wendy had put her lips onto him as they started to kiss. Stan was hoping to get a good feeling out of it, but he felt absolutely nothing as they kissed. Soon Wendy pulled away and wrapped him in a hug.
"How was your day babe." she said happily
"Fine" Stan said simply shrugging
"That's great" Wendy started talking more about her day. How she aced a test in English, and how she was going shopping with Bebe at the mall, along with how well her role as student body president was going.
But for Stan, all of it felt like a blur as his mind wandered. A part of him was really annoyed, his girlfriend, who he's been with for so long clearly didn't see how upset he was. In fact, Wendy never noticed how depressed he was. She's always happy and smiling whenever they were around, not seeing how distraught he was feeling. The last thing she said brought him out of these negative thoughts though.
"You're still picking me up at 6 on Saturday for the party right?" she asked, looking up smiling at him
"Yeah of course babe" he said giving her a weak smile. He hated himself for not being as positive as her. But he simply couldn't do it.
"Great see you then it's gonna be so much fun" she said before breaking the hug and pecking his lips. The 17 year old then turned around and walked away to catch up with her group of friends.
Stan simply sighed as made his way to his car. After a short drive later he made it to his home. He unlocked the door to be greeted by an empty house, this didn't surprise Stan whatsoever. Ever since his parents divorced, his mother had gotten an office job that required her to stay very late as the bills needed to be paid. Leading to Stan being left alone most of the time when he was home. His mother would usually be home before midnight, but that didn't leave much time to spend with her. Stan helped out by getting a job at the local fast food place, he did a few shifts a week and while it wasn't a lot, it was still something.
Stan closed the door to his house and made his way quickly up the stairs to his room. He entered it and immediately dropped his bag, he went to his desk where he opened a drawer where he kept his marijuana and lighter. Stan had an unlimited supply of weed as his father would always give him some whenever he visited him. Though he kept it hidden as his mother would not approve of him using anything his father gave him.
One quick light and a few minutes later and soon his room had clouds of marijuana in it. Stan felt at ease as he laid on his bed. All of his thoughts felt suppressed, it was one of the few times where he felt good. Stan had experimented with some drugs through high school. He smoked cigarettes and weed regularly, he drank when it felt right, he even did acid once with Kenny which he swore off after having a really bad trip. Stan put the weed to his lips as the zene feeling continued.
He felt calm, he wouldn't say happy, but he felt calm.
