I am finally back! Since I don't feel like writing an explanation twice, you can just head over onto my other story, chapter twenty and at the top, the explanation will be there... Anyhow, enjoy this chapter! A little simple but enjoy!
After School
Arnold was already back home after he had walked home with Gerald, chatting about football.
Arnold was up in his room, he was reading a hero action book. It was about a team of heroes who were facing one of the toughest battles, saving one of their own.
Unfortunately, Arnold fell asleep with the book on the ground, and his hat over his face, and while leaning over in his chair. A certain figure was soon in his room, and slowly crept up to him.
"I think a little bit of this wouldn't hurt." A girl's voice then giggled.
Arnold was startled awake shortly after as he fell over his chair. "What the?! Wait… Rhonda?! What are you doing here in my room?" Arnold asked, confused.
"I just I'd come over to see." She smiled. Arnold raised an eyebrow. "Ok, ok! I also need a little help on my science homework…"
"I'll be glad to help, but you didn't have to startle me awake." Arnold chuckled as he got up. "Why do I feel my cheek a little weird?" Arnold asked as Rhonda blushed and looked away while whistling.
Arnold touched the weird spot on his cheek. "Rhonda, what is this? Is this… lipgloss?" She nodded nervously.
Rhonda closed her eyes as if she was about to get scolded by Arnold. He only smiled. "It's alright, Rhonda. I know you didn't mean any harm." Arnold got close to her and gave a small kiss on her cheek, making her blush even more.
She then smiled. "Hey, Arnold. I can't help but notice that book on the ground. What gives?"
"Oh, that? I must've dropped it when I fell asleep."
"And the hat on your nose?" Rhonda smirked. "Huh? Whoops." Arnold gave a nervous smile as he put the hat on his head. "So, about your science homework?"
"Ah, you still haven't answered my question yet. What's up with that book?"
Arnold then picked up the book. "This? It's a little something I just started reading."
"Oh… Say, would you mind if maybe… we read it together?" Rhonda asked, rather nervously. Arnold lightly chuckled. "You? Reading? Only time I've ever seen you read was during school."
"Hey, I do other things other than just beauty and fashion." She lowered her eyelids. "So is that a yes or no?"
"Well, if you want to, then why not?" Arnold smiled. "But how about we get done with your science homework first." Arnold then smirked. "Oop, silly me." Rhonda blushed. She then reached over for her backpack.
A Couple Hours Later
The two had finished up their homework as Rhonda was waiting for Arnold to get back upstairs. In the meantime, she was reading the book he had.
"Wow… This story really is entertaining! I wonder how the ending is."
Soon, Arnold came back up to his room as he had his hands behind his back.
"Arnold… What do you have behind you?" Rhonda lowered an eyelid and raised an eyebrow. "Nothing?"
"Oh, really? Don't make me get up and check what you're hiding."
"Ok, ok! I wanted to bring you a little something." Arnold then revealed a rose from behind him. "I know that I've brought you roses before, but I always think a rose looks beautiful with you." Arnold offered her the rose.
"Awww." Rhonda was rather speechless as she accepted the rose. Arnold then sat down. "Hey, Rhonda. Mind if I ask you something?"
"You have all my attention." Rhonda smelled the rose. "What's up?"
"I was thinking since it's that time of the year, with the Fall dance and all… Maybe you and I should go ice skating? I know a good place to go to."
Rhonda smiled. "Does this answer your question?"
She held the rose to the side of their faces as she leaned in and gave a small kiss on Arnold's nose. Arnold felt his heart skip a few beats as he felt deeply in love.
Rhonda winked at Arnold. He felt a little bit of lipgloss on his nose. Rhonda giggled when she noticed the slight lipgloss. "So that means-"
"Yes. Yes, Arnold. I'd love to go ice skating with you." Rhonda shined a bright smile. Arnold smiled back. "Does tomorrow sound good?"
"Any time you want, I'd be happy to go with you." She smiled.
"Alright, great! Oh, and one more thing."
"Anything."
"Care to go for a milkshake or something?"
"You always know how to make my day. Let's go!" Rhonda got up and yanked Arnold's hand.
At Slausens
Harold ran out of the ice cream shop, in pain rather. He had eaten too much and now had a stomach ache with a brain freeze. Sid and Stinky were just laughing their butts off.
"Did you hear the way he cut the cheese?" Stinky asked as he kept laughing. "But don't forget how he thought he crapped himself when I poured water on his seat!" Sid replied as he laughed uncontrollably.
"Looks like those three are on their shenanigans again." Rhonda lowered her eyelids as Arnold tried not to laugh. "What are you laughing about?"
Arnold choked on his minor laugh. "Uh- nothing! A joke from earlier, that's all."
Rhonda rolled her eyes but smiled at Arnold.
Sid and Stinky left, and Arnold and Rhonda soon entered Slausens.
"Guess what flavor I'm craving and you won't have to pay a dime." Rhonda smirked. "I'm still paying." Arnold smirked back.
"And it's strawberry, isn't it?" Arnold smirked at her. "How'd you know… Alright fine. It was." Arnold chuckled as Rhonda soon smiled.
Later
"Have you ever gone ice skating before?" Arnold started. "Not really. I'm usually caught up in all beauty and fashion stuff that I never do stuff like that."
"So that means you don't know how to skate?"
"No…?" Rhonda blushed. Arnold smiled. "Hey, there's nothing to worry about! If it helps, I can teach you how to skate."
"You would?"
"Of course! Anything for you." Arnold smiled. Rhonda then hugged Arnold. "I don't know if I can ever repay your kindness." She hugged him tightly.
"You soon will, I know you will." Arnold smiled as he stroked her hair.
Soon, a grumpy figure would come stomping back home when she soon noticed something peculiar…
"What in the…?! Arnold?!" Helga saw from the window. Arnold and Rhonda were laughing together as they were drinking milkshakes.
"What is he doing with little miss powder puff?! That should be me! Me I tell ya! Oh, that'll soon be me. Once Curly handles my little problem, I'll have Arnold all to myself! And nobody can do anything." Helga gave an evil smile as she walked away.
"So Arnold, how have you been feeling about your head? It was honestly a nasty hit you took." Rhonda asked. "Eh. I feel my brain slightly shaken but I feel better than that day."
"Well I don't know about everyone else, but I'm more than happy to hear that you're doing great." Rhonda smiled. Arnold also smiled.
"Hey, Arnold. Think we'll have time tomorrow to continue reading that book?" Rhonda soon asked. "I hope so. I think I also heard that there's going to be a movie of that book and a TV series. I can't wait to watch it soon!"
"Wait really?"
"Yeah."
"Now that sounds awesome! So… you wouldn't mind if… maybe we watched it together?" Rhonda asked as she felt her cheeks getting warm. "Of course! I'd love to watch it with you." Rhonda smiled.
Rhonda soon saw what time it was. "Ugh, seven thirty already? Arnold, I'd love to spend some more time with you, but I promised my parents that I'd be home by seven thirty."
"Want me to walk you home?" Arnold offered. "You would?"
"Why not? It's never a bother." Arnold smiled. Rhonda smiled back as she finished her milkshake. "Shall we?" Rhonda asked as she stood up. Arnold smiled back. "We shall." He linked his arm with her arm.
A Few Minutes Later
The two were sharing jokes as they walked together, and they loved every single minute they spent together.
The two soon arrived. "Arnold, I can't thank you enough for walking me home." Rhonda smiled. "Ah, don't worry about it! It's never a bother. Just a little act of kindness." Arnold smiled back.
"Before you go, I think there's a little something you're leaving without." Rhonda lightly smirked. "What's that?"
Rhonda cupped Arnold's left cheek as she kissed his right cheek. "Now nothing's missing." Rhonda smirked. "Don't tell me you left lipgloss on my cheek again." Arnold teased.
"Oh, very funny, Romeo." Rhonda giggled. "Goodnight, Arnold." She then hugged him. "Goodnight, Rhonda." Arnold hugged her back.
Arnold was about to head home, but Rhonda whistled to get his attention. She blew a kiss to Arnold as she winked. Arnold only blushed as he felt lovesick.
Well, unfortunately, this is the only chapter I've written up since it took a while for me to adjust back to this style since I've been caught up in all the action of the Knights at War story... But I promise I'll soon have more of these chapters soon enough! ANyways, see you in the next!
