Inspired by Meg's subplot in the episode "Valentine's Day in Quahog".

Meg and Neil's Valentine
by Tito-Mosquito

It's Valentine's Day, Peter and Lois are watching their favorite movie together when they see their daughter Meg walking down the stairs in a lovely blue dress and black high-heels. She also has on lipstick. She's not wearing her pink beanie today. She's also carrying her purse.

"Wow, Meg, you look nice! You have a date today." Lois asked.

"Yeah, Neil and I are spending Valentine's Day together."

"What do you two plan to do?" Peter asked.

"I don't know, Neil is mostly gonna surprise me." Meg replied.

The doorbell rings.

"That must be him." Meg exclaimed. She head to the door to open it, revealing Neil Goldman in an off-white smart shirt, one of his dad's red necktie, tan smart trousers and brown smart shoes. He's not wearing his AV cap this time. He looks rather intelligent, not geeky although she can still read it in his glasses-wearing pimply face.

"Happy Valentine's, Meg!" Neil said, giving her flowers and a big heart-shaped box of chocolates.

"Aww thanks, Neil. Happy Valentine's!" Meg replied, receiving his gifts and giving him a kiss on the lips. She set the box on a nearby table and put the flowers in an empty vase.

"My, you're looking rather beautiful." Neil complimented, leaning on the doorway.

"Thanks." Meg blushed. "And you look very handsome."

"Why, thank you." Neil said, fixing his tie a little. "Shall we go?" Neil extends his hand out to Meg.

"Let's." Meg locks arms with Neil as they head out. "See ya later, mom and dad." She tells the family and closes the door behind her.

"Aww, don't those two make the cutest couple, Peter?" Lois said.

"Yeah, the cutest, nerdiest couple in town." Peter replied sincerely, with a bit of teasing in his voice. He also suddenly has chocolate on his mouth.

"Petah!" Lois scolded.

"What?" Peter shrugged.

The two went to see a sci-fi movie called The Star Warriors at Quahog Theaters. They enjoy all the laser-shooting, spaceship battles, exotic aliens, lazer sword-fighting and intriguing backstories. The hero of the film is a muscular redhead wielding a lazer sword, and standing besides him is a beautiful warrior princess with long flowing chestnut brown hair carrying a blaster.

When the movie was over, since it was near noon, close to lunch time, Neil and Meg went to a fancy restaurant. After they ate, the two discuss about the movie.

"Whatcha think of the movie, Meg?"

"Oh, I love it! I especially love Princess Ona! She's so badass!"

"Yeah, she reminds me of you."

"Really?" Meg was flattered that she was compared to the character, and touched by Neil saying that.

"I do."

"Well, now that you mentioned it, I see a little of you in Dirk Cosmo."

"Well, I always fancy myself as quite the stud." Neil said cockily, making Meg giggle. "You know Meg, it's really refreshing having to talk about these kinds of stuff to you."

"Me too, Neil. Since we started going out, I'm more comfortable embracing my love of sci-fi, fantasy, superheroes, and things like that."

"And I glad you do. We can finally have more interesting conversations."

"I'm really happy being with you, Neil. You were always the one who was so nice to me. I'm sorry of all the times I treated you badly." Meg said guilty.

"It's okay, Meg. I'm sorry too, for always stalking you and annoying you. I just really really like you. You have always been the girl of my dreams." Neil puts his hand on top of hers.

"And you're the man I never knew I wanted." Meg said, holding Neil's hand with her other hand. "We have so much in common, we're both social outcasts in school. We were meant to be together." She then adjusts her glasses.

"I feel the same way, Meg." Neil agreed, adjusting his glasses as well. Then he raises his glass of water. "To us."

"To us." Meg raises her own glass of water, and they both took a sip.

"So, what should we do next?" Meg asked.

For the rest of the day, they have a nice time together.

They took a walk through the park while both are holding an ice cream cone. Both have two scoops, each having one chocolate and one strawberry. They stare at each other lovingly.

They hold hands while ice-skating on the frozen lake.

They decide to have a couple's caricature. The artist drew Neil as Harry Potter and Meg as Moaning Myrtle, both in a battle-ready pose.

They went to the observatory. Meg is amazed by the stars.

Hanging out at the comic book shop, reading their favorite comic book titles. Meg noticed several other glasses-wearing, pimple-faced nerdy boys gawking at her. She decided to be a little tease by waving her fingers at them seductively, which drove them crazy. Meg loves being considered beautiful to these geeky boys.

Later in the evening, they went to dinner at a Chinese restaurant. They open their fortune cookie. Meg's fortune says "You will be happy with your man.", making her squee because she is happy. Neil's fortune says "You'll get your girl.", causing Neil to smile because he already has.

That night, Neil walks Meg back home while they hold hands.

"Well I guess I'll be seeing you later, Neil." Meg said as she's about to go inside.

"Before you go in, Meg, I want to give you this." Neil takes out a small present from his pocket.

"For me? You shouldn't have." She opens it and takes out a gold necklace with a pendant in the shape of the left half of a heart that says "His Only" that's written in cursive, making her gasp. "Oh Neil, it's beautiful! I love it! Thank you!"

"Nothing but the best for my girl. Plus, I have the other half." Neil pulls out a similar necklace with the right-half of a heart that says "Her One" in cursive. Neil puts Meg's gift around her neck for her. Then he puts his hands on hers. "Now our love is official."

The two began to look each other's eyes.

"This has been the best Valentine's Day ever. I love you so much, Neil."

"I love you too." Neil replied.

The two share a tender kiss and wrapped their arms around each other that lasted nearly a minute, but an eternity to the two lovers.

Then they separate and Meg went inside and batted her eyes at Neil. "Good night, my love."

"Good night, my darling." Neil winked before Meg closed the door.

Author's Notes:

The Star Warriors is a parody of Star Wars obviously. Even though Star Wars exist in the Family Guy universe, I made up Star Warriors just to have the protagonists have an uncanny resemblance to Meg and Neil, only more good-looking. Also, the title is a reference to the fan term for the main heroes of Star Wars in the Marvel comics.

The comic book store is the same one from a deleted scene in the episode "Candy Quahog Marshmallow".

I wish everyone a Happy Valentine's!
