Gamelover41592: Thanks!
Tech-Star: So fun fact, I only actually brought it up because I thought it was one of Double Trouble's abilities. When I learned otherwise, I decided to throw in a mention to him anyways because I thought it was cute.
I will once again be blaming school for the lack of updates. Like I said, school comes first and I had finals so I really needed to focus. But enough babbling! Let's begin the hunt for the Eternal Fire Source!
"If Voodood is not mistaken, there are only a few parts left!" The magic Skylander realized. Everyone perked up at that. They were almost done!
"Uh, did anyone else see that fence collapse?" Spyro asked, only for everyone to focus on what Voodood had just said, as well as Hugo, who was studying a book. Hugo, however, led them over to what said fence was blocking, revealing Diggs standing near a train. "Didn't I just point this out!?"
"You did. We just didn't think it mattered," Hex replied, causing Spyro to snarl and huff.
"Wow!" Hugo exclaimed, causing everyone to turn to him. "Am I the only one who didn't know this was here? I mean, honestly…there's a train here!"
"Did you say there's a train?" Diggs asked, not realizing he was standing next to it.
"Right behind you!" Sky called out, remembering that Diggs was pretty much blind.
"Oh that explains the tracks!" Diggs realized upon turning around to see it. "I'm not sure how I could have missed that."
"It couldn't possibly be because he's blind as a bat, could it?" Flynn snarked. In spite of their own distaste for Flynn, several Skylanders couldn't stop themselves from laughing and neither could Sky. "That's right!...Boom!"
"Hey! I can still hear, you know!" Diggs protested before shaking his head. He had something important to say! "Listen, we moles were digging, searching for the Crucible of the Ages. But there was a terrible cave in!"
"WAIT!" Hugo suddenly cut him off. "You know where the Crucible is!? That's one of the missing components to the Great Machine! It's the only relic in the world that can contain the power of the Eternal Fire Source!"
"I know. That's why we were looking for…" Diggs trailed off as he remembered what he actually wanted help with. "Wait, what am I saying!? There's no time to explain! The cave! There are moles trapped down there! I barely escaped, when the cave-in sealed the entrance shut!"
"Skylanders, if we can open a path through the debris, perhaps you could recover the Crucible!" Hugo realized.
"Um, what about the other miners?" Sky pointed out. "Shouldn't we save them too?"
"I believe that we should focus on the Molekin as well," Eon agreed. "Still, we need to find our way into the mind."
"THANK you!" Diggs exclaimed. "I know that the Crucible is important, but there are people down there!" Hugo took a look at the rocks blocking the cave and began to form a plan.
"We'll need something powerful enough to blow up the debris that's blocking the cave! Then we can get the Crucible!" He explained, only to sigh upon noticing Sky, Eon and Diggs all glaring at him. "AND save the moles."
"Outta the way!" Boomer called out, a live bomb in his hands. Needless to say, everyone was quick to clear a path, allowing the troll to clear the path.
"What was that!?" Diggs asked as he frantically looked around. "Was that another cave in?! Oh no!"
"Nope! Just Boomer clearing a path for us!" Sonic Boom reported as said troll came back.
"Let's get moving!" Sky ordered in her best attempt at mimicking Eon. Most of the Skylanders found it adorable, but they had to stay focused.
"Okay, let's go!" Diggs agreed as he climbed into the train. "But first, will someone explain to me why it is we are taking a train?"
"He's kidding right?" Spyro asked as he climbed on board. Once everyone managed to squeeze on, Diggs started up the train and everyone headed underground.
"What the…where did you come from?" Blobbers asked upon seeing the Skylanders arrive via train. Then he realized that they were Skylanders. "Skylanders!" He then took notice of Eon and Sky. "And you must be the Portal Masters who sent them to rescue our townsfolk! I'm afraid we need your help once more! We were digging, um, well, I mean the Molekin were digging - and I was supervising. We found something! An ancient relic called the Crucible of the Ages! Dunnon what happened, but some…some THING triggered a cave in! They're all trapped…the mole miners! You've got to rescue them!"
"But how do we all break through the rocks?" Whirlwind asked. "There's only one pickaxe."
"I've got an idea!" Sky called out as she stepped forward. Pointing her staff at the pickaxe, she suddenly yelled out "MULTIPLY!" Suddenly, there were dozens of pickaxes sitting around.
"Sky, when did you learn that?" Eon asked, legitimately impressed by his daughter's magical knowledge.
"I was bored and looked over the books," Sky admitted before leaning on her staff. "I'm tired now."
"That is understandable," Eon admitted as he scooped his daughter up. Pretty much every single quadruped Skylander lined up, hoping to be the lucky one Sky got to ride on. "Sonic Boom, could you handle watching Sky?"
"I believe I could handle another chick," Sonic Boom replied, causing Eon to set her on top of the griffin. "Just go easy on me, okay?"
"Got it," Sky agreed as got comfortable on the air Skylander. Everyone who could grabbed a pickaxe and quickly set off. Anyone who couldn't grab one simply grouped up with someone who did to serve as backup.
"Oh thank you for saving me!" One miner exclaimed once the Skylanders defeated the enemies menacing them.
"Get back to the entrance. We will lead you out," Stealth Elf ordered. The Molekin nodded and began to make his way back.
"Er, are we sure he can find it?" Sky asked, causing the Skylanders with her to turn to her. "I mean, they can't really see very well."
"It's also not that far," Sonic Boom assured the girl. "And if not, it is rather noisy by the front. They could just follow it."
"So they'll be okay?" Sky asked with a smile.
"I think so!" Zap agreed with the older Skylander. That was enough for Sky, who was content to simply enjoy the ride. Soon, all of the Molekin had been returned to the front of the mine, causing all the Skylanders to group back up. Diggs was waiting for them, an old piece of metal at his feet.
"You did it! You saved the miners!" The Molekin cheered before flinching and rubbing his leg. "I'd gladly walk over and shake your hand but I'm afraid I must have injured my leg while down here and can't walk. Oh! I can't make it out on my own because of all the excruciating pain I'm in! Push me out in the mine cart, would ya?"
"Sure!" Stump Smash agreed as he moved to pick Diggs up
"Wait!" He exclaimed. "In my complete agony I almost forgot. I managed to find the Crucible of the Ages! I'll hold onto it while you push, even if it hurts." With a nod, Stump Smash set Diggs in the minecart while Drobot handed the Crucible to him.
"So what about these crystals?" Sky asked as she attempted to use a pickaxe on them. No dice.
"Only bombs will break up those Tzo Crystals," Diggs explained. Once again, everyone stepped aside to let Boomer do his thing. Needless to say, it was pretty easy to escape.
"You saved everyone!" Blobbers cheered once the Skylanders made it back to the front. "AND I have some good news! All this seismic activity has opened up a new tunnel back there! And there are new train tracks! Tracks that go deeper." The Skylanders all grinned. They had a feeling they knew where they were headed next.
"Hey! Miner in terrible pain here!" Diggs called out, reminding everyone he was there. "Grab the Crucible and let's get out of here!"
Even with the sky growing darker, the Skylanders remained hopeful and seeing the Crucible of the Ages slot itself into the Core certainly helped. While no fire came from it yet, they knew it would be burning sooner than later.
Only three pieces left to go.
"Glumshanks!" Kaos snapped at his manservant, causing him to drop his writing tablet in shock.
"Uh, yes Lord Kaos?" Glumshanks asked.
"I have a job for you! Those cursed Skylanders-OH that little baby portal master and her walking corpse of a father-have interfered with my plans to become Emperor of Skylands for the last time!" Kaos snapped as he attempted to climb onto his portal. Glumshanks dutifully helped him, not expecting any thanks. "But you, Glumshanks, you can stop them!"
"Me?" The troll asked in confusion.
"See, things are…" Kaos paused for a minute to find the correct words. "...very bad for us right now."
"But I thought you said the Darkness was growing," Glumshanks reminded his boss, whose eye was already twitching. "That it didn't matter what they did. You said-"
"NEVERMIND WHAT I SAID!" Kaos snapped, cutting Glumshanks off. He then began to rub his temples. "Look, Glumshanks. All we have to do is keep them from getting one, just ONE of the Eternal Sources! And it will all be over! Which brings me to you, old friend. All you have to do is make your way deep underground, sneak past the deadly lava guardians and withstand the scorching heat of a burning volcano to sabotage the tracks of the mine train." He then took a deep breath. "Meanwhile, I'll go on ahead and simply go after the Eternal Fire Source myself. HAHAHAHAHA! See? There's more than one way to derail their plans!"
Glumshanks groaned, having just forgotten all the horror of what he was about to endure.. "Please tell me you didn't just say that."
"Oh I did," Kaos proudly boasted before cackling again.
Not going to lie, but I think that the Eternal Fire Source's levels get off to a bad start because this level was BORING. Pretty much nothing was interesting and the piece of the Core you manage to get is easily the most basic looking one of them all. Still, grateful it was turned around in the next level, which we will see next time! FireFlamerx9z, OUT!
