She opened her eyes slowly, the light hurting them as she tried to adjust her blurred sight. She tried to stretch a little, but her body felt so stiff she could barely move. Finally gaining some sight, she slowly took in her surroundings try to figure out where she was. That was when she saw her, this beautiful tall woman standing by the mirror looking at her own reflection. It looked as if she was assessing herself. Just as she thought to ask the woman where she was, their eyes met.

She could see that she had shocked the woman, and more then that she felt some sort of familial pull towards her. "Where am I?" She whispered out hoarsely.

The woman talked to her through the mirror, with the most beautiful Scottish accent "You are at Hogwarts," Hogwarts? Her brain echoed. She watched as the woman slowly faced her. Her stance was guarded. "Might I ask who you are?"

She opened her mouth to answer, no later then when her lips parted did she realize she actually did not know who she was at all. A wide spread panic set it. Her eyes widened and she choked out, "I'm not sure."

The woman began to walk over to her slowly, "Do you know what year it is?"

Again her mind could bring no date to her that she could be sure of. She shook her head, feeling the tears begin to prickle at the corners of her eyes.

"Do you know your age?" The woman's voice began to hold an edge of concern.

She tried to bring some knowledge of herself forward in her mind, but there was nothing. No memories of birthdays or school, friends or family, not even how she got here in the first place or where she came from for that matter. Tears were now flowing freely down her face as she sat there in a silent shock.

The woman reach the side of her bed, clearly struggling with what to do in the moment. She spoke after a brief pause. "I'm going to go get the healer, I have to step away for just a minute." The woman stared at her intently, as if willing her to stay exactly where she was, before briskly walking away.

Taking in a deep breath she tried to calm herself as much as possible. Her brain was still going a mile a minute, trying to search for memories of her life just to be stop by what she could only describe as a large black hole that seemed to have every memory accumulated over her entire life trapped inside it.

She could feel the desperation build inside her, she felt like she was falling over the edge of nowhere.

Hurried footsteps brought her attention back to the present moment, the woman had brought back a companion with her. She was much shorter in stature and had light blonde hair, and a trusting face. "Minerva go grab the bar of chocolate on my desk."

She felt her body tense up a little as the new woman stopped in front of her, "I'm glad to see you finally awake," She gave her a small smile. "My name is Poppy Pomfrey, I am the Head Healer here at Hogwarts."

She laid there silently.

Poppy looked behind her and motioned at the other woman, "This is Minerva McGonagall, she's a Professor here at Hogwarts." Poppy jerk her head towards her and Minerva handed over a large piece of chocolate. "Eat that, it should help calm your nerves."

Reaching out timidly she grabbed the chocolate from the raven haired woman, slowly bringing it to her mouth for a bite, "Thank you."

Minerva nodded her head curtly, she could tell this woman was still unsure as to what to do with her.

The woman let her eat a few bites of chocolate, she could feel a warmth spread through out her body.

"I've been told that you cannot remember who you are my dear," Her attention was brought back to the healer immediately. "Is this correct?"

She nodded her head, not trusting herself to speak, for fear she would just burst into tears.

"And neither the year?"

A nod again.

"Alright then, I'm going to give you a moment to yourself while I confer with my colleague." The woman gave each other a quick look before they started to leave. "I shouldn't be more than a few minutes. You just eat the rest of that chocolate."

She slowly nodded at her and watched as they left the room.

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

Minerva waited until Poppy had stuck the doors completely before casting a spell over the room to silence it, "That's your big assessment? Giving her chocolate and asking her two questions?" She threw up her hands to emphasize how ridiculous she thought it was.

"Relax Min, I put veritaserum mixed with a small sleeping potion in the chocolate," Poppy replied calmly, "She knows nothing about herself, nor the year she is in. She poses no real threat at the moment and in a minute she'll be fast asleep again for the rest of the evening giving us ample time to tell Albus and come up with a plan."

Minerva pinched the bridge of her nose and sat down, "What are we supposed to do in the meantime? He won't be back from the meeting with the Governors until late this evening."

"Well I suppose we go about our business," Poppy began to fiddle around her desk.

"At the very least the lass is finally awake." Minerva crossed her legs. "She seemed awfully frightened."

Poppy chuckled, "Wouldn't you be? Not knowing who you are, or where you come from.." She turned to Minerva and put a hand on her hip. "Although I could only imagine how you would react."

"I'd probably be a terror," Minerva laughed, "You know how I abhor hospital beds."

"That you do. And I thank Merlin everyday that you've never been in mine."

Minerva scoffed in fake protest and threw the pillow next to her directly at her friends head. "Insolent brat."

Poppy threw her a wink, "You love me."
