"Mami! I just thought of something!"

Julieta excitedly ran up to Alma.

"Uhh… yeah? What is it?" Alma asked.

"Well, you know how Mirabel was saying that Bruno had green eyes?" Julieta ventured.

"Yes, and she's clearly insane! I think she might have brain damage or something!" Alma scoffed

"And you say he has brown eyes."

"That's because he does!"

"Well… what if his eyes were actually hazel?"

"HAZEL? What does that mean?" Alma said incredulously.

"Well… it's sort of brown…and sort of green?" Julieta quickly tried to come up with a lie.

"Hmph," said Alma. "I've never heard of hazel eyes before."

Suddenly, Mirabel ran into the room. "Mama! Mama!"

"What is it, Mirabel?" Julieta asked.

"Where's Papa? I feel like saying good morning to him for some reason," Mirabel said.

"He broke his legs," said Julieta. "He won't be getting out of bed any time soon."

"Oh, okay," Mirabel said, seeming sad for some reason.

Meanwhile, Camilo felt like committing identity theft that day.

"I'm gonna impersonate Dolores!" he said. "Being a girl is fun!"

Dolores, who had gotten married at some point, had gone to some unspecified location with her husband.

Mirabel saw the fake Dolores, who was actually Camilo.

"Hi, Dolores! Wanna come to our tea party?"

"Uh… tea party?" Camilo asked.

"Yeah, we're having a tea party! Just girls. No stinky boys allowed!" Mirabel said.

She frowned.

"We discussed it earlier. Didn't you hear?"

"Well… I…uh…my ears are ringing…" Camilo stammered.

"Aww… poor thing! Her ears are ringing!" Julieta said.

"I'll still come, though… if I can bring Mami with me!" Camilo said.

He wished that his mother would hug him, but she hadn't since last year. That was when she told him she wouldn't do it again, because he wasn't cute and little like Antonio. And he never would be!

"Uhh… are you sure she'd be interested?" Mirabel asked. Her heart began pounding.

"Of course!" said Camilo. "Mami loves tea; it calms her down."

"B-b-but… she hardly even comes out of her room anymore!" Mirabel said.

"She's just embarrassed because she's been having a lot of windy days lately!" Camilo said, trying not to grin.

Mirabel whimpered and hid behind Luisa.

"Careful, sis," Luisa chuckled. "I might be having a windy day, too."

"Hmmm… I guess I have been serving a lot of beans for dinner lately," said Julieta.

Camilo laughed. "Mirabel, are you afraid of your own Tía?"

He couldn't imagine anyone being afraid of his mother!
"No!" Mirabel said quickly. "It's just that… I don't think she likes me very much…"

"You might be surprised," said Camilo. "Maybe she just has her own unique way of showing it."

Mirabel sighed. She didn't think it seemed unfair to exclude her creepy aunt, but she also didn't want to upset "Dolores".

"I'll come along, too," said Luisa. "You know, for emotional support."

Luisa and Mirabel approached Pepa's door.

Mirabel was shaking so hard that she could barely stand.

"Go on…" said Luisa. "Knock."

Mirabel knocked so gently that literally nobody could hear it.

"No, no!" said Luisa. "You gotta knock harder!"

"Knock, knock, knock, knock on wood?" Mirabel asked, grinning goofily and hitting herself over the head.

"No! Who taught you that?" Luisa asked. "LIKE THIS!"

She pounded on the door with full strength.

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

Pepa looked up from her diary, where she was writing "I hate Mirabel" over and over again.

"Ooh! Does somebody actually want to give me attention?" she said.

She rushed over to the door and opened it, letting out a huge gust of wind.

"H-h-hi…"

The wind blew Mirabel backwards, causing her to fall into Luisa.

Luisa steadied Mirabel so that she could stand on her own.

"Go on… tell her!" she urged her younger sister.

"We're having a tea party, do you wanna come?" Mirabel blurted out in one breath.

"Uh… what?" Pepa asked.

"Isabela will be there," Luisa said, grinning.

"Alright! I'll come!" she said.

"Uh… are you still in your nightgown?" Mirabel asked,

"Uh… ummm… well…" Pepa said, holding down the nightgown as the wind became stronger.

"Heehee, I saw your underwear!" Luisa said.

"I'LL BE OUT IN A MOMENT!" Pepa screeched.

Then, the door slammed shut by itself for some reason.

At the tea party, everyone was gathered around a tiny table with tiny chairs.

Luisa tried to sit down, but the chair kept moving out of her way.

Frowning, she eventually gave up and plopped her big booty down on the floor.

Thud!

"So… lovely weather we're having, huh?" Mirabel asked.

"Do you think this is funny?" Pepa glared and gestured to the rain cloud that still hadn't left her head.

After an awkward silence, the girls (and Camilo) finally managed to get a good conversation going.

"I told him that he had fat nose, and he smelled like a dirty dog!" Alma howled. "And that he was ugly, and his hair looked like rat hair!"

Everyone else laughed politely, not wanting to upset her.

Alma stopped her hilarious story and frowned.

"Hmmm… something seems different about somebody…"

"Luisa got even bigger again?" Mirabel asked, smiling as she patted Luisa's arm.

Luisa growled.

"Is it my glasses?" asked Julieta, who was randomly wearing glasses again.

"No, but why are you wearing glasses?" Alma asked.

"Uhh… ummm… I don't know!" Julieta said.

"Well, they look stupid," said Alma. "Take them off."

"Maybe she needs them to see!" Mirabel said. "But did you think about that? No, you only thought about yourself!"

Of course, she would be the one to defend Julieta's stupid, ugly, glasses.

"No, no…" Alma mumbled, before sharply raising her voice to a shout. "The real problem is Dolores!"

"Oh!" Camilo said, so sharply that it sounded like a squeak.

"Umm… d-d-did I not wear enough makeup today?"

"Hmm… I don't know," Alma ruminated. "It just seems like something is… missing."

"I'm sorry!" Camilo cried. "My ears have been ringing ever since I hit my head…"

"Hmm… maybe something is different about the way she talks…" Alma said.

"Uhh… hey! Who made these cookies? They're delicious!" Camilo said, shoveling cookies into his mouth.

"Your cousins made them!" Julieta beamed. "They did a great job, didn't they?"

"Uhhh… yeah! Anyways… I gotta go… to the bathroom!" Camilo said. "See ya! Bye!"

Then, he ran out of the room and into the bathroom, quickly transforming back into himself before anything else could happen.

While Camilo was in the bathroom, Mirabel saw the real Dolores.

"Hey! Dolores is outside!" Mirabel said.

"WHAT?!" Alma said, in a screechy gurgle. "I thought she was going to the bathroom!"

"Wow! She really is fast!" Pepa said, proud of her daughter's skills.

Everyone gathered around the window, waving and shouting.

"I don't see her. I don't see anything…" Julieta said.

"Shut up," Alma said tersely.

Dolores approached the window.

"Hi, everyone," she said calmly.

"Hi, Dolores!" everyone said in unison.

"Lovely weather we're having, huh?" Dolores asked.

"Why are you outside?!" Pepa demanded. "I thought you were in the bathroom."

"No, I was just coming back from visiting neighbors…" Dolores said.

"But… but… but… you were just at our tea party!" Mirabel said.

"Must have been an imposter, hm!" Dolores said, smiling and shrugging it off.

"Yep, you're definitely the real one," said Abuela.
