ADAS KALLIG
I woke up, rested but not entirely happy. Previous night I visited many droid shops on Coruscant, trying to find someone capable of upgrading Grievous, but despite visiting numerous places, all recommended on various Holonet sites, not one of them was able to help me. They didn't even try, just screaming for unknown reasons and not helping at all.
It wasn't that much of a deal for me, as all my limbs were fine, but I was afraid Grievous would take all these rejections hard. He really hoped for these new parts. I should probably do something nice for him, when I have a chance.
I rose from my bed, trying to not wake Lana, who had already returned from her outing and was sleeping peacefully on her side of the bed. I hoped she had fun the previous night, as it was her first outing since, well, millenia.
When I entered the common area of the ship, I was immediately able to tell she had fun after all, as I spotted unresponsive Satine, laying on the floor sleeping, apparently unable to reach her room after returning from the party. She smelled of explosions and her armor still had some dried blood on it, especially on its fists. Leila was not far off, in a little better position, as she was sleeping on the couch, covered in ash.
Well, it appeared they had quite a lot of fun. I was glad they were able to relax a little. But what about male part of the ship? They didn't have any special plans, so they should be up already.
Weirdly, Raksh and Maul weren't in their rooms, nor were they anywhere else on the ship. I wasn't really worried, as I knew they would be able to handle themselves just fine, but I honestly didn't expect they would go missing like that. My bet was on Leila.
While I was thinking about the person most likely to be kidnapped or lost, I heard a signal coming from my private comlink, as someone was trying to communicate with me.
"Hello, Adas Kallig, lord of the sith speaking. Who is it?" I asked, answering the call. Not many people had access to this number, so it was better to ask. I really hoped it wasn't any of these damn telemarketers. It was really hard to hang up on them, even though I wasn't interested in their products! How mighty they were to make a sith lord doubt himself?!
"This is Cin Drallig, Chief of Security of the Jedi temple on Coruscant" said a voice, containing some distaste, typical for a jedi. Well, that was unexpected. I couldn't see any reason why someone from the temple would call me, especially a guard. And on my personal number? "I got this number from your...friends, who are currently with me. Can you come to the Jedi Temple? I will explain everything there. It's quite urgent"
Friends? Did he mean Raksh and Maul? What were they even doing at the temple? Were they kidnapped or something? It wasn't impossible, as there were some Jedi who could easily subjugate them, but a chief of the security wouldn't probably be the one to call in that kind of situation, right?
It would be someone like Windu, who would demand a ransom in exchange for Maul and Raksh safely returning to my side, maybe sending one of Maul's fingers. As it was just a guard, I could exclude the kidnapping option at the moment. But it just meant that I still had no idea what was going on.
"Sure I will be there in an hour" Seriously, what did Raksh and Maul do?
When I arrived at the temple, I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking at. There was the Jedi temple in front of me, just like I remembered. The walls, the gate and everything else, still there. But there were some notable differences from my previous visit there.
Like the fact that the front wall of the temple, as well as its gate, were covered in various writings, all made using a red paint. As I was approaching the temple, I was able to read some of them, like "VIOLENCE GOOD", "POWER OF THE DARK SIDE '' or "RED BROTHERS ''. These writings already made it obvious who was the person responsible for this act of vandalism, but the definitive proof was the biggest writing made on the temple, written right above the gate, several meters tall, saying "OBI-WAN KENOBI IS A WHORE". The last E had a trail of red paint coming from the end of the letter straight to the ground, as if the culprit fell while finishing the sentence.
Yeah, I was able to guess what happened the previous night. I sighed.
As I approached the temple, guards let me in without the fuss, as they were probably already expecting me. I understood the situation and was quite thankful, but was it really alright for them to just let the sith lord in without any hesitation? Someone should have told Malgus. He put so much effort for nothing.
When I was inside, I was greeted by a very unusual sight. On the bench, located on the left from the entrance, sat Raksh and Maul. They were sitting with their heads down, handcuffed and surrounded by the guards. Even from a distance I was able to tell that they were reeking of alcohol. That explained a lot.
I wasn't able to talk with them at the moment as I was approached by a Jedi, most likely a leader of the guards. He didn't look very intimidating, as he was just a middle aged human wearing typical Jedi robes. Now that I looked at the guards, none of them was wearing armor. Was the order in a rough spot and wasn't even able to provide these guards with some protection? A little embarrassing to be honest.
"Darth Imperius" said the man with a scorn hearable in his voice. At least I knew he was a real Jedi. Only they could put so much condescending and self-righteous energy in two words. "I am Com Drallig, chief of security. Your companions made quite a mess tonight" That would be an understatement.
"Yeah, sorry about them" I said, rubbing the back of my head, a little embarrassed for them. But it's not like I had never done anything stupid while drunk. Like Rishi. "Boys will be Boys, I guess?"
Com apparently didn't like my reaction at all, judging by his scowl deepening considerably, but he didn't comment on it, instead staring at me angrily.
"so...what now?" I asked. I didn't know how to proceed next. I mean, it was just an act of drunken vandalism, nothing severe, but technically there was an attack on the temple during the night, made by the sith lord. Wait, that sounded really familiar. Did Maul just recreate Maglus' sacking in his own, drunken way? Huh, I wasn't sure what to think about that revelation.
"...they are dark siders, one of them is even a sith. I would love to put them in jail, vandalism or not. But I know it won't end well. The order is already in a very bad situation, so another scandal, especially concerning a sith, would be disastrous" he was gritting his teeth while saying that, forcing the words out of his mouth. I could see a vein on his head pulsate violently. "So...despite them being dark siders...and vandalising the temple...just go. Now." Yeah, it looked like saying this was causing him immense pain. Didn't know why, didn't care. I was able to retrieve my followers and it was enough for me.
"Sure thing, Com. You did great" I said, giving him a thumbs up. I knew he was only doing his job, so he deserved honest praise for his job. It didn't look like my praise was well received though, but I had more important things to deal with. When Raksh and Maul's handcuffs were taken off, we were led out of the temple.
As we were waiting for a taxi, I looked at my followers.
"I am quite disappointed," I said. Hearing that made my followers lower their heads in shame. Or maybe they were still hungover, I wasn't exactly sure. "I expected something like this from Maul, but you, Raksh? You were supposed to be the responsible one!" Was he entering his rebellious phase or something? I really didn't want that to be the case. Hearing my words, Raksh looked at me with shame. Maul just looked offended for some reason. What a brat, to not even see that he did something wrong. He really was a troublemaker of the group. He even corrupted Raksh, that pure boy!
How did it even happen?
"So, how did you end up in the temple?" I asked, looking at Maul. Raksh was a good guy, but I wasn't sure I would learn much from hearing the story from him. Maul made a stiff face, but started explaining.
"Finding ourselves with nothing to do, we spontaneously decided to go on the walk," said Maul. He was looking at something in the distance, not even once looking me in the eye. He was probably ashamed of his actions. I understood that. He continued "For some reason we found ourselves in a shady alley, where we found some gang members, trying to rob someone. We didn't want any trouble, as we were supposed to not kill anyone, but they attacked us, without any provocation, forcing us to kill them all" sounded reasonable so far. I looked at Raksh, so that he could confirm it.
" " He was nodding earnestly, giving a wide smile. So Maul was telling the truth. Good to know that he was at least trying to behave. But that didn't answer my question.
"And how does that relate to the temple?" I asked. It was hard for me to connect the dots, so I needed them to explain this to me. Killing gang members was good, but they didn't really have anything in common with the jedi temple. Unless one were to think about the jedi as a really big gang. They were more of the fanatic cult though.
"The person we saved wanted to thank us, so they took us to the party. Raksh wanted to eat, so we agreed, happy for the free food. Host was grateful and there was... a lot of alcohol there. I don't remember much after that" That...explained a lot. I wasn't exactly sure how to deal with this situation. But, as any responsible adult, I did what I thought was best.
"Next time don't get caught," I said, ending the discussion. If they wouldn't be seen, there wouldn't be a problem for me. Easy and elegant solution. Raksh nodded, easily understanding the lesson, while Maul just looked at me weirdly, but didn't say anything. It appeared that the problem was dealt with.
"Adas Kallig" When we were about to board a taxi, I heard a really familiar voice coming from behind. When I turned over, I saw Selleana, my very own rival and a Jedi master of the highest caliber. The mirialan woman was confidently walking in my direction with a smile on her face, arms spread, as if wanting to hug me. She even had her old lightsaber on her hip "I am so glad I was finally able to find you"
"Selleana!" I exclaimed happily, spreading arms on my own and starting to walk in her direction as well. It was so good to see her again in the flesh, as it had been too long. It appeared she was in quite a good mood. I even suspected why. She was most likely grateful for her new body. I would welcome her gratitude with grace. She was my friend after all.
We were getting closer to each other, our arms still spread for the , as we were about to reach each other, Selleana suddenly changed her posture. I didn't even have time to react as she raised her leg and kicked me right in the crotch. The pain made me fall on the ground, as I didn't expect something like that to happen at all.
"I finally found you, jackass!" She shouted to me, but I wasn't able to pay attention, clutching my crotch with both hands. It hurt so much!
