ADAS KALLIG
"Come on Lana, can't you just tell me where we are going?" I said, as she was leading me somewhere in the Sith academy on Korriban. We arrived on the planet not long ago, as she said that she prepared a gift for me there. As I didn't really have any concrete plans for the next destination, I had no reasons to disagree. The only problem was that she didn't want to tell me what her gift was!
"Don't worry, we are almost there" She responded, adamant to keep the reason for our visit to Korriban a secret. Apparently she really wanted to surprise me with something.
We were the only ones in the academy, as reconstruction funded by the chancellor Palpatine didn't start yet, meaning that the planet was still uninhabited. Well, grandpa Aloysius was somewhere on the planet, but when I contacted him, he told me he was busy with something important at the moment, so he couldn't give us a tour. My followers also weren't with us, as Lana insisted we go to Sith academy alone.
It was all fine and good, as I had nothing against having a walk with my girlfriend, but there was one problem. She refused to tell me what the surprise was! Was it a giant monster? Some powerful sith spirit? Or maybe the spirit of the giant monster? Possibilities were endless, especially with Lana!
As I was led somewhere in the academy, I noticed that some changes were made since my times, since I didn't recall the part of the academy we just entered. It wasn't really surprising, as the sith empire existed for some time after my "death" and there were several attempts at creating another empire after that. From what I recalled, there was even one successful attempt, made by a group named "Darkness bros". They were even able to last a while, though they eventually lost against the republic. They were probably the ones who created this section. But what was there and why was Lana taking me there?
After a lovely time spent walking together through ancient corridors we arrived at huge gates, made from solid stone. I was able to feel numerous presences behind it, but an accumulation of dark energy inside the chamber behind the gate made it hard for me to sense what was there. Seriously, what was going on? I looked at Lana questioningly, hoping she would explain. She saw my confusion and smiled softly.
"I thought a lot about how to repay the fact that you brought me back from the abyss of the force. Of course it really isn't something that can be repaid that easily, but I wanted to at last do something in return" She said, surprisingly vulnerable at the moment. She must have been worried she wouldn't be able to thank me properly. How silly. Her being with me was a reward by itself. "The situation at the masquerade party gave me an idea though" She smiled, more determined than before. She looked me in the eye. "So, are you ready for your gift?"
She raised her hand, using force. The stone gates swung open slowly, without being touched. A vast room came into view, with half gone ceiling and stone walls covered in carvings. A crimson carpet ran down the center of the room, with many familiar people on the sides. Flesh raiders and Screaming blade cultists were standing on the left side, while mandalorians, nightsisters and traitor officers were on the right side. They were all watching me in silence.
My eyes followed the carpet forward. Behind the people was a set of stairs and around it were assembled his most important allies and subordinates. Raksh, Leila, Satine, Bo-Katan, Maul, Talzin, grandpa Aloysius, and admiral Tarkin were standing there, looking at me as well.
Above them, upon these stairs was a throne. It was weathered from age and partially crumbled, but it still looked extremely regal, standing proudly despite the damages sustained in the past. The entire scene, because of the lack of the ceiling, was illuminated by the light of the setting sun.
"It was quite difficult to bring everyone here, especially Republic officers, without anyone noticing, but I was somehow able to do that. I even began the transport of flesh raiders off Tython, as Selleana would surely visit it soon, looking for clues. Bringing everyone here probably isn't the most sensible option, but I thought you would appreciate this. So, do you like your gift?" Lana asked, looking at me with a huge smile on her face. She did all this just to make me happy? Brought all these people, risked Republic and Confederacy noticing her actions, just because she wanted to give me a gift? It was…
"…So awesome" I whispered, a huge grin forming on my face. It was like the greatest gift ever! My every ally and subordinate in one room, a throne room at that! So fucking awesome! She wasn't able to see my grin through my mask, but I was sure she felt my happiness and gratitude, as her smile grew, changing into a happy grin of her own. She extended her hand to me. I took it.
We started walking towards the throne. As we were passing people on the sides of the carpet, they started kneeling before me, showing their loyalty to me. It was so fucking amazing to see all these people, monsters and witches bending their knees and acknowledging me as their leader. It felt very empowering.
As we reached the stairs, almost all my closest allies and followers bent their knees as well. The only ones who didn't do it were Talzin and grandpa Aloysius. Talzin gave me a shallow bow, respectful, but showing she was an ally, not a subordinate. Grandpa Aloysius just gave me thumbs up and nodded to me approvingly. Now that I looked at them, weren't they standing quite close to each other? There was also some sort of comfortable aura around them. Hmm… Well, good for grandpa, I guess.
Bo-Katan, despite being an ally, decided to bow, instead of following Talzin's example. Weird, especially as she was a Mandalorian, but I guess she didn't want to ruin the scene? Very nice of her.
As we approached the throne, Lana let go of my hand and stood on its side, making the scene complete. Now everyone was looking at me and I knew that there was only one thing left to do.
I sat on the throne, looking at people gathered in front of me. Mandalorians, flesh raiders, nightsisters, various members of my cult and Republic traitors, all waiting for my orders, ready to fight and die in my name. My friends and allies were with me too, waiting as well.
"Hail Adas Kallig, leader of the eternal alliance!" Shouted Lana from my side.
"Glory to Adas Kallig, leader of the eternal alliance!" Shouted the room as one. They were all looking at me, awaiting my orders. As I was watching the scene before me, feeling their devotion and loyalty, there was only one thought in my mind.
I loved my life, so fucking much!
And that's it for now. After 50 chapters and over 100k words, the first part of Unexpected Visitor is over. I think it's a good point to stop, as I intend to take a break to think about where to take this story next. The ongoing poll i have on spacebattles is part of that, as I wanted to see which PoVs were the most well received.
There will probably be things that will change in the future chapters, like schedule. I found that daily updates are too time-consuming and draining for me. There is also the fact that releasing them every day probably made some of the readers tired of the story, so it's something to think about. I will think about changing the format, maybe releasing longer chapters, but doing it less frequently? We will see.
For now, Thanks for reading Unexpected Visitor!
