Huey opened the door as Ming started to cry, although it really wasn't a cry, it was more so crocodile tears. They sat down on some chairs and Ming started to explain why she was sad.
"You know Cairo is really into Jazmine right? He even wants to give her a ride home! He never lets anyone ride in his car." She cried even more.
"Wait so, Jazmine is with Cairo?" Huey asked. "I guess, they have been talking and he walks her to class." Ming answered. 'Wait, why does this matter?"
"Nothing, just wanted to know."
"Why though? Do you like her? Do you like Jazmine?"
"No Ming."
"Yes you do, that's why she hasn't been hanging out with you Dork, did something happen?" Huey rolled his eyes, "Now why does THIS matter to you, aren't you talking about Cairo?"
"I can't believe you are listening to my problems, you're not nice, you're actually doing a good deed, wow Dork, proud of you."
"Would you stop calling me that, it's annoying." Huey said.
"Or what?" Ming stood up, and crossed her arms. Huey knew she was up to something, he knew that pose. Ming snatched his glasses off his face and hid them behind her back. Huey stood up too, "Alright that's enough Ming, give them back." Huey said, ushering towards her.
"Not another step or I break them!" Said Ming, her hands already in position to just snap them.
Huey sat back down, "What do you want Ming?" Huey knew she wanted something, the girl was narcissistic and always had a scheme in hand.
"I want you to help me with something." Ming said, standing closer in front of him. "Okay, I will help you once you give me my glasses back." Huey said, trying to get them out her hand but she backed up.
Huey is strong, he could easily take them back if he wanted to but the thing is he didnt want to break them so he had to be careful.
"What exactly do you want me to help you with?' Huey asked her.
"I want you to do all my homework."
"Deal, now give me my shit." Huey said, once again trying to retrieve his glasses.
"Nope!" That's not all I want, I want you to pretend we are dating." Ming said.
Hueys eyes immediately widened, "No!" He quickly said. "Disgusting."
Ming was about to snap his glasses in half but Huey quickly caved in "Okay, okay!" Huey said, "Why though?"
"Cairo will be so Jealous, that's why and it will benefit you."
Ming was delusional, the man didn't want her, why wouldn't she take a hint, she's a stingy, mean, rude, nasty and manipulative person, heck look at the situation he's in now, but now that he thinks about it, they are a match.
"How will it benefit me?" Huey asked, confused.
"Cause I won't break your glasses, and I can put you and Jazmine on."
"I don't want Jazmine, and even if I did, I could put myself on."
"Huey let me tell you, YOU HAVE ZERO GAME." Ming emphasized.
"Doesn't mean I want Jazmine," Huey said.
"Lie to yourself all you want, you know you want her, but we are changing the subject, I want you to help me, okay? You might even make Jazmine jealous while you're at it, that is if she even likes you I mean who would, look at you."
"Insulting me isn't gonna help." Ming said, dangling his glasses in his face.
"Alright!" Huey gave in.
"That's so great, we will start today." Ming said standing up, "That also means you have to take orders from me.
"Hell no! That's where I draw the line." Huey said. Ming gave him a look, she didn't even have to say anything, and he knew. "Okay." He said.
"Great!" Ming clapped. "I'm glad you understand." She kissed him on the cheek and gave him a fake smile. Huey tried to hold his disgust in as she has his glasses still intact with her hand.
"Let's go." Ming said, "And hold my bag." Huey held her backpack and were about to exit the library, Ming made sure to do her signature walk, but Jazmine was in front of them.
"Oh, it's you." Ming rolled her eyes. "What do you want?"
"I was just about to go." Jazmine said, looking at Huey smiling through the pain and what she just witnessed, she was trying to go and make up with Huey about the misunderstanding yesterday but it seems like it wasn't the right time.
"Wait, your glasses are off, why?" Huey didn't look at her directly, but responded rather coldly, "What's it to you?"
"You don't have to be so rude, I just wanted to know, it's obvious this skank is changing you. Since when did you even hang out with Ming, you hate her?"
"Who the hell are you calling a skank? Don't worry about us or what we do, the hell why are you even here?" Ming said, getting up in her face.
"I can come and go as I please, you don't run me." Jazmine said, getting closer to her face.
"Well leave." Ming said. "She's right, just go." Huey said.
Jazmine looked at Huey then Ming angrily. "Both of you guys can go to the opposite of heaven." She said walking off, slamming the door.
"Yeah, and don't come back!"
Ming watched Cairo walk after Jazmine through the clear glass door, that's when she knew they had to walk after them. "Where are we going?" Huey whispered.
"Cairo just followed Jazmine which means he was looking for her. He was looking for her all morning." Ming opened the door and chased after them.
Ming coughed really loudly, while Huey looked at her side eyed. It caught Cairos attention, he had his arm over Jazmines shoulder, which frustrated Ming.
"What's up Ming?" Cairo asked, trying to dap her up, which she rudely rejected.
"'Sorry I can't, I have a boyfriend now, which is Huey, cause he's my boyfriend, which means I can't give other males attention cause we're dating, you know cause we're in a relationship like very in love."
"We get it." Jazmine said annoyed.
"Shut up hoe." Ming said, Jazmine rolled her eyes.
"Well okay, that's wassup." Cairo said, looking Huey up and down. "Is there a problem?" Huey asked.
"Let's go bae, we don't need to deal with them." Ming said, as she walked off and swayed her hips to get Cairos attention. They walked far enough from them so Ming could break the act, but everyone saw Huey and Ming together which raised eyes and looks. He also had his glasses off which made girls look at him more.
"What is your issue?' Ming asked, putting her hands on her hips angrily. "What?" Huey asked.
"You aren't getting these back." Ming said about to snap them.
"No!" Huey said.
Ming actually did it, "You bitch!" Huey said.
"You're acting like I can't just buy you more, I have money." She said, grabbing his arm, continuing to walk.
Huey finally made it to class, when he entered it the teacher asked, "Are you supposed to be in this class?"
"Yes?" Huey asked, looking at the teacher stupid, the whole class was confused too.
"What is your name sir?
"Huey Freeman." Huey said, annoyed.
"Stop playing games, my class is not the place to skip. "It's actually me, I just don't have my glasses on." Huey said.
The argument went on for 20 minutes, the teacher called security, Huey had to verify his identity, it was just a whole mess.
During lunch, His own friends didn't even recognize him at first.
Huey put his head down on the table, "My glasses are long gone." He said.
"What happened to them?" Caesar asked.
Huey was about to answer but Ming called him over to come sit with her table, Jazmine and Cairo were over there, so was Cindy and some other unimportant popular people.
Huey got up to go sit with her, Hiro and Caesar were in disbelief 'Huey were you going man?" Caesar asked. Both of them were confused because he hates her, and they were gonna ditch them for some girl?
"So yeah, me and Huey are dating now." Ming said. "We know." Said Jazmine. "Don't be jealous, Jazmine. We all know you want him." Ming responded back. The whole table gasped, Cairo even raised alerts. "What?" He asked.
'She's obviously lying, I don't know where she would get that from."
"Well, it makes since. Huey you look so different now, you're hot." Cindy said.
All the girls at the table started agreeing and smiling.
Huey felt uncomfortable at this point and the energy at the table was weird and off, someone needed to spark a conversation, but not Huey cause he got up and left the lunch room.
Ming was drinking her water and everyone just stared at her, "What?" She asked.
"That your man, aren't you gonna go after him?" Cairo asked.
"Oh yeah, of course!" Ming got up and walked outside the cafeteria to find him. When she entered outside she could change character. 'Huey what the hell?" Ming asked following him in the boys restroom. 'What are you doing in here?' Huey asked.
"Stop being a pussy some back." Ming asked.
"Your friends are weird." Huey said.
"I don't have friends, I have associates, none of them are my friends." Ming replied. "That's crazy, but I don't care."
"So you're just gonna stay in the bathroom for the rest of the period?" Ming asked. Huey shook his head, "No, but I'm waiting for you to leave."
Ming walked out of the bathroom and back to the cafeteria. She was about to go and sit but Hueys friends called him over. "What do you want?" Ming asked.
"So you and Huey are friends now?" Caesar asked. "Maybe." Ming said confidently, shrugging and smirking. Since when? Huey must be hitting or something?" Caser rudely remarked.
Ming closed her eyes slightly and gritted her teeth, then picked up the drink of soda he had. "Woah, what are you doing with that?" Hiro asked. Ming smirked again and poured it over Caesar's head and walked back to her table like nothing happened.
Hiro laughed, "Dude, not gonna lie you deserved that." Caesar looked at Hiro for a couple of seconds and got up to clean up.
Ming sat at the table and brightly smiled, "Where is Huey?" Jazmine asked.
"Why do you wanna know?" Ming asked, looking her up and down.
"Yeah, she's right." Cairo said, looking at her concerned.
Jazmine awkwardly laughed, "hahah ha I was being sarcastic considering her boyfriend ditched her."
"He didn't ditch me, he is doing things." Ming corrected. "Like what?" Jazmine asked.
"Damn, you really wanna know." Cindy said, irritated. The whole table agreed, "Just be quiet Jazmine." Ming said, and to her surprise Jazmines suprise Cairo agreed.
Ming smiled at Cairo, and he smirked back, Jazmines mouth opened, and she called Ming outside. "Ming, let's step in the hallway for a bit." Jazmiune said.
"For what?" She said scrunching up her nose. "Just come on!" Jazmine said.
Ming followed her outside in the hallway and crossed her arms, "What do you want?" She asked.
"What's your deal?" Jazmine asked. Ming fakely laughed, "What are you talking about?" She pretended.
"Why are you hanging out with Huey and why are his glasses off?" Jazmine asked.
"I don't see why it matters, unless you like him."
"I-I don't."
Ming got in her face, "Cause Huey told me he doesn't like you because you're embarrassed to be seen with him and act like you cant speak, you know I didn't blame you at first, but Hueys like hot now so everyone wants him, soooo like he's totally mine now. Totally not a dork."
"H-huey said that?" Jazmine asked, hurt..
"Yeah, I even think he liked you snitch, he enjoyed teaching his nerdy things to you but YOU ruined it and now I'm gonna ruin you unless you back off Cairo. I can fix things for you, just say the word."
"Wait, so you're telling me you're only with Huey to make ME mad, and to get with Cairo? Girl, he doesn't want you. Stop being delulu he doesn't want you, he wants me. And you know what, you can have Huey your acting as if im dating him or something I dont own him, nor do you own Cairo. Make up your mind your crazy, I don't know what you thought you were doing but its not working." Jazmine walked back in the cafeteria pissed.
Ming's mouth was wide open, embarrassed. Sure Jazmine ate her up, but to be fair Jazmine cares to some sort and Ming never backs down especially when she is determined, she's not done yet, she just needs some fixer-uppers and that will fix everything and she will get what she wants. She walked back in the cafeteria too, Huey was back at the table irritated as ever, Jazmine was feeding Cairo food, Ming gritted her teeth and sat back down.
"Huey, do you wanna come over to my house tonight?" Ming asked, smiling. Jazmine stopped feeding Cairo and everyone paused.
"N-
Ming kicked his foot, he held his pain in and quickly said "Yes."
"Great! I'll pick you up.
"Why don't you ever invite me over." Cairo whispered in Jazmines ear. "My parents are strict." Jazmine said.
"It's the same excuse every time you never want to do anything." Cairo responded irritably, "You won't even kiss me, I bet you Ming would."
Thats what set Jazmine off.
"I Heard my name!" Ming said. "It's nothing, I was just telling Jazmine how wonderful you are.
Ming blushed, and quickly folded, she put her hair behind her ear and said, "Thanks." Then she looked at Jazmine smiling.Cindy was confused, she grabbed Ming's arm and dragged her towards her, "What's going on?"
"What do you mean?" Ming genuinely smiled, looking at Cairo the whole time. "I thought you were with Huey, and over Cairo."
"I'm not, I'm making him Jealous by being with Huey."
"Ohhhhh!" Cindy said laughing, "Good job!"
Ming rolled her eyes and Cindy, then she sat straight and fluffed out her skirt.
"So I was thinking, How about we go to the fair this friday?" Cairo asked, "You know, Huey, you, Me and Jazmine."
"I didn't sign up for this." Huey whispered to Ming. "Sure! We would love too!" Ming said.
Huey and Ming walked down the hallways with Ming's arm overlapping his. Huey hated this idea but he needed a new pair of glasses and he knew his grandad wouldn't buy him more. Huey didn't like the attention which is why he wore them in the first place.
Riley walked up to the two and stared at his brother up and down. "What?" Ming said.
"Can I have a word with my brother for a quick moment?" Huey looked at Ming,
And she let go.
"What's up?" Huey asked. "I heard your mister popular now, going out with Ming, I thought you hated that hoe." That's the same response he's been getting all day, "And your glasses are off."
"Yeah, um. I'm not gonna be home after school." Huey told Riley. "Bet." Riley smiled, happily.
"Huey, what's up with you? Caesar asked. "Yeah,'' Hiro said, agreeing.
"Nothing has been up with me, why does everyone keep asking?"
"Because you're with Ming." Caser said.
"Come on Huey! Don't hang out with these dorks, you will become one of them again." Ming said, pulling him away, it was time to go so they walked out the building together. "Wait, you were serious about me coming to your house?" Huey asked.
"Yes." Ming said, "I hope you know we are not doing anything." She said cockily.
"Okay? You act as if I wanted to, that's in fact what I was worried about." Huey said, opening the car door. Jazmine was walking with Cairo headed to his car, "Hey ming!" Jazmine yelled, looking at the two, deciding to be petty.
Ming gritted her teeth, smiling, "Hey Jazmine." She said back. "He's driving her home?" Ming asked herself. "Yeah." Huey said. "Deal with it."
Ming got in her car and started it, put her sunglasses on, and drove off. Huey looked through his phone the whole time, he had to admit the car ride wasn't as bad. Ming didn't even argue with him the whole time and it was beautiful outside.
Huey got a text message from Jazmine asking him "You really going to her house?" He didn't respond, instead he closed his phone.
The car stopped, and Huey was confused. "You live in a treehouse?" He asked.
"No, your doing my homework in here while I watch tiktoks." Huey sighed.
Jazmine was outside of her poarch watching looking at the stars she was just across the street, she noticed Huey walking into his house late he still had his backpack on his back.
Huey looked across the street and saw Jasmine vividly, it was dark. They just stared at each other for a brief moment, before Jazmine walked over there. "Lord help me." Huey whispered to himself.
"Is that a Hickey?" Was the first thing she asked, not even a hello. Huey covered his neck, it was in fact a Hicky, which he was embarrassed to admit and refused to talk about it. "Jazmine, it doesn't matter what it is, don't you have a boyfriend to worry about?"
Jazmine laughed, "Cairo isn't my boyfriend, silly."
"I'd say him driving you around in his car and him holding your books is dating, also you fed him lunch."
"Well, that was just to make Ming mad. You know she's using you right? She doesn't even like you, she wants Cairo, in fact she's delusional over him." She told Huey.
Huey laughed, he played along with her. Huey already knew what Ming was doing, and it's working Jazmine is concerned. Not that he's trying to make her jealous or anything or that he cares, he just needs a new pair of glasses.
"Your funny Jazmine, Ming wouldn't do such a thing." Huey told her. Jazmine crossed her arms and puffed, turning red. "Huey, I'm telling you as a friend-
"Oh so we're friends now? Last time I checked you were too embarrassed to be even seen with me. Now that I have my appearance altered the slightest you think you can go and claim me as a friend now? That's not how this works, and you know I really did think you were different, your just as self centered."
Jazmine nodded her head repeatedly as in a "Okay, that's what's up" type way. She couldn't believe he would say that, he really had changed and had been quite rude to her. I mean sure she was a bit embarrassed to be around him but Ming and Cindy always tease her and Jazmine felt like everyone was staring and talking about her badly, Huey of all people should understand she was a reputation to keep.
"Your girlfriend is way worse," Jazmine said. "You say all this about me yet you're dating someone who quite frankly thinks the same about you if not 10x as extreme compared to me. So I don't know if your ego is up because you're with her or whatever. Or maybe you're trying to make me mad. Well guess what? I don't care anymore. I tried to warn you and when you get heartbroken that's on you." Jazmine said as she walked off, but Huey stopped her with his words, she didn't turn around her back wasn't faced towards him but she still was listening.
"So you admitted that you thought the same way as Ming. You proved my point, you were just using me all along. And I honestly did think you were different and sweet and actually liked me for me and wanted to hang out with me but, you're just a selfish person who can fool people with the innocent look." Huey said. "I can't believe I caught feelings for you."
Jazmine was shocked at everything she just heard. Especially the last part, she didn't have anything to say, although she could have worded that better she obviously wasn't using him or thought of him in any type of way for real, that was her fault. She accepted that and walked to her house, not looking back.
