-Outbreakgirl

The town of Anvi sits near a river, surrounded by peaceful green mountains, and tropical forest. The sun is beginning to set, and the lanterns are already lighting the streets.

"This reminds me of home in Lampang." Takeda mused as he take in the lively surroundings of the marketplace. He is standing on the side with three of his squad-mates and his advisor as they are watching the bustling scene before them. The smell of various foods are in the air and quickly filling their noses, and there are also stalls with handmade trinkets and clothing. "What should we do first?"

" I vote on shopping," Cassie suggested,"The outfits and jewelry would look good on me, I could go for some glow."

"Same here, I want to get some wares first before anything." Jaqui agrees with the blonde.

" Aw I was hopping we could chow down first." Johnny playfully frowns, then points to a food stall. "Like a sea cucumber kebab, look how huge it is...wait, are those tentacles?"

Kung Jin is only half listening, as he is just staring at nothing in particular. He hasn't said a word either, not joining in on the conversation as they seem to be having fun. His mind is drifting into unnecessary thoughts, but he felt his shoulder being touched which snaps him out of it.

"What do you say, Jin?"

"Oh uh...I don't care..." He answers, shrugging as he doesn't care about it.

"Uhh ok, so I guess we can just walk and see what catches our interest! Onwards!" Johnny leads the way as the group follows him as they explore the market. Kung Jin is lagging behind, as he casually wanders his eyes.

"Are you okay man?" Takeda nudges him as he hung back with Jin, walking beside him with a concern look. "Your mind is all over the place, are you sick?"

"...I'm fine." He grumbled, looking away from him. The ninja isn't convinced of this, this makes him worry even more.

"Come on, dude. We are supposed to relax."

"Sorry, I have a lot of things on my mind. I can't really talk about it." Jin sighs, he is supposed to be calm, but he can't, not since yesterday when he wandered in the woods by himself and met with Erron Black.

"Excuse me, good sirs." The voice of an old woman stops the pair, turning to their right to see a stall with closed red curtains spotted with golden embroidery. Poking from said curtains are the hands of a wrinkly old woman with wrapped red silk and silver bracelets. "Will you spare a moment of your time, my dears? I wish to tell of your fortune."

"Ohhh, fortune telling, that sounds fun! What do you say, Jin?"

Kung Jin stares at the stall, unsure if he should do this, even though his friend seems to be enthusiastic. "Eh...i'm not really into this kind of thing."

"That's okay, i'm going to give it a try." The young ninja smiles as he accepts the offer the old woman has given.

"Give me your hand, my dear." She held his hand, claps them firmly, but gentle as she doesn't say anything for a while. "Mmm, the golden flames tells me of your fortune. You are following the path of ties, the bond between the connections you made with others are strong. Your love is tremendous, and you will continue to make your ties stronger, even when they fade into the unknown. The people in your life care about you as well, which means that good things will come if you cherish them." One of her hands retreat behind the curtains, only to return, giving him a silver band half moon bracelet with a small reddish yellow gem in the middle. "A symbol of the golden flames. A gift from me to you,"

"Thank you." He accepts the bracelet. "Oh, hold on, how much is the service?"

"Money means little to me, I offer fortune, there's nothing more simpler than that." The crone's hand points to Kung Jin. "What about you, dear?"

Jin shook his head, he doesn't feel like having his fortune told. "Nah, i'm not too keen into someone looking into my soul or whatever." He refused, making the woman chuckles.

"Very well, but since you are here, may i suggest you look at the sunset by the river? A very beautiful sight, especially when Elixir Lilies flow down from the river." This made Jin froze, flooding back of memories of those lilies from yesterday and what happened. "When the night takes the sky, there will be fireworks. Something to keep in mind."

"That's interesting, thank you again!" Takeda is happy for that bit of information and having his fortune told. His friend remains quiet as they both leave the old woman, and he notes of the monk's silence. "So...you know of these lilies?"

"Stop reading my mind." Jin groans in annoyance.

"Your mind is pretty loud, how could I not? I can read that you have seen these lilies before, even tasted them." That's all he has to say about that, then something else came to mind. "Oh, you know what, we should get the others to head towards the river."

"Sure, i'll meet you there." The monk would rather go by himself, they earlier pass by while entering Anvi, so he knows how to get there. The water is darken by the setting sun which all can see clearly despite the surrounding mountains. Most of the people are standing on the boardwalk to view the sight of coming twilight. He can already see the lilies coming down the river close by, still blossomed. The fireflies are fluttering at the petals, making them even more pretty to look at in the night.

"Sure is a pretty sight, ain't it?" A voice made Jin twirl in surprise, once against face to face with Erron Black. "Whoa there, it looks like you've seen a ghost." Even though he is still wearing his faceguard, there is a hint that he is smirking behind it.

"Dammit, why are you here?"

"I go where I please, i'm on vacation, remember?"

'Well, can you go somewhere else?"

The cowboy chuckles. "Come now, darlin', all I want to do is to enjoy the view. Besides, I found out that this here village is celebrating the Day of Fire. Which means the only time when they sell these." He raised his hands, dangling a lotus pendant with a violet gem in the middle. "This little thing is made with Edenia metal, and this right here." He points to the middle. "Is the elixir made from the lilies. They used magic craft to crystallize it., I took the opportunity to grab this trinket before they were gone."

Jin stares at it,it is a wonderful craftsmanship. "So you are into jewelry?'

"Eh, kinda. When opportunity knocks, I'll gladly open the door if what they sell catches my eye." He mused. "What about you?

He just got here with his friends, he didn't know about the pendants until the cowboy told him about it, possibly already gone. "Hm, I didn't get anything yet."

"Really? That's a shame, tell you what," He offers the pendant to him, which confuse the monk. Jin looks at Erron, thinking this might be some kind of trick. "I'll give you this, you can take this if you want."

"You are giving me this? Why? I thought you like it?"

"Its no big deal," Erron waves it off, giving him a soft look. Jin sighs as he reaches out to take the pendant.

"Fine, since you offered." He has it in his hands now, and before he could say anything else, his ear picks up chanting. Turning his head to see the crowd parting for a group of men chanting as they walk the path towards the steps leading into the river. If he has to guess, they are holy men. Bald with the exception of a short ponytail patch, shirtless with a leather sash, black pants, and wearing shoes. The men walk down the the steps, their legs as halfway in water now. The eldest of the men turns to the crowd that are bowing in respect of the holy men.

"The Village of Anvi and many others are celebrating the Lady of Flame on this blessed day, one of the the greatest sorceress Edenia has graced us." He shouts, picking up an Elixir Lily from his hand. "The lily is a symbol of flre, a force of wisdom, vision, and vitality. It is also the symbol of passion and endearment, as the lady have for the divine protector, Argus. Their union was formed in the presence of these flowers, which is why we show appreciation for the lady's union and guidance." The lotus in the man's hand starts to glow a dull light at first before turning brighter against the night of the sky.

Kung Jin and Erron watches the holy man give his speech until it was over, which signals the first of the fireworks which flashed over the river on the horizon. Multiple colors light the sky as the people are watching the display, and from what the monk can see, there are some couples holding hands while holding pendants of their own. Erron nudges him, having taken off his mouth guard to reveal his grinning face.

"Whelp darlin', this is the time to pucker up." The cowboy said,

"The hell/ what are you talking about?" Jin asked incredulously.

"Don't you know? This pendent is a good luck charm, and to solidify the charm, you gotta kiss someone during the fireworks."

"Not with you." He said bluntly, backing away one step.

"Really? You didn't mind yesterday when we were sharing lilies."

"You caught me off guard, if you try to kiss me again, I will end you!"

Erron doesn't mind the threat, making him grin wider. "Come now, sugar. Its just one kiss, I really wanna have some good luck. Besides, what's one kiss hurt?"

Jin does remember clearly, they met in the forest alone, learning about the lilies that have a mythical substance, and then they kissed. How could he forget? He wouldn't admit that he was thinking about it ever since. He is silent for a few seconds.

"If I give you one kiss, would you stop bothering me about it?" He sighs, might as well.

"Of course, here it comes; sugar." Erron moves close to the monk, expecting to make the first move, but he is pulled forward as Jin took the chance to kiss him. Their lips clash, it was rough at first, but starts to soften up until the parted. The cowboy looked amused at this, still grinning. "Well now, you seem to like it rough, I like that."

"Shut up, I just...don't have much experience..." He admits lowly.

"Why didn't you say so? I am more than willing to help you practice." Erron winks, which made the monk turn pink out of embarrassment. "Ok, i'll stop teasing for now. I gotta get going, plenty to see, lotta things to do while I enjoy my vacation. I'm sure we'll bump into each other again." He mused, as he walks away until disappearing into the crowd. Jin groans as he couldn't believe that he kissed that jerk again, how could this happen two times?

"Jin!" The familiar voice of Johnny broke his thoughts, they have returned and manged to find him. "Sorry we couldn't get here earlier, Cass was too busy checking out the silk shoes."

"But they were so cute, and I really want to try them on! We made it in time to see the fireworks!" She points out. Nonetheless, they are here to see the night sky lighting up, and enjoying themselves. Takeda smiles, holding Jaqui's hand as she is wearing the bracelet he received from the fortune teller, but he turns to see his friend's pink face, and could see that he has a piece of jewelry in his hand. The telepathic knowingly chuckles to himself, keeping it quiet for now as the group watches the fireworks.

I hope you enjoyed this fluff, and happy Valentine's Day!
