Jaune looked upon his gloved hands, moving around his fingers and looking upon the armor wrapped around his fingers. The golden cuffs around his wrists and the silver plates that caress his body, his eyesight that was previously drowned in red now looked as though he was wearing nothing on his face at all.

The only reason he knew he had something on his face was his breath hitting himself in his face and an interface, most of the imagery besides the time was lost to Jaune.

"How you doing kid? It was a bit scary seeing you jump around earlier." Taiyang asked worryingly.

"Y-yeah, actually, I feel... great!" Jaune hopped up and down a few times, stretching his arms and legs shaking his wrists. His armor clanking, obviously heavy yet it felt almost like nothing, the undersuit was comfortable, almost like a high quality onsie!

'Hmmm...' Jaune began to move his arm, subtly wiggling his arm upwards as the rest of his body stood completely still, wiggling his hand once in position, now his arm as rigid as his new armor.

"What mayhaps are you doing Jaune?" The headmaster asked.

"Isolation."

"And what is that?"

"A form of dance sir." Taiyang answered, his eyes still towards the scroll, Ozpin made a noise in answer.

"I believe your movement is to check the suit's flexibility yes?" The headmaster, ever the inquisitive one asked once more.

"Uh huh." The child nodded. A smile spread upon the ashen haired man's face.

"Then I have a suggestion for a light exercise." Jaune nodded, his mask covering his face, wether he became nervous or not Ozpin couldn't know. Oh well he thought, and with a 'tap tap' of his cane.

The battle android's eyes shone awoke, a gleam of crimson as the wind sung from the it's arms, blades emerging forth as it jumped towards the headmaster from the middle of the arena, blades at the ready.

The Headmaster dodged the charge nonchalantly, sidestepping the blades without even so much a glance before flipping outside the arena, allowing the machine to tackle Jaune.

"AAAA-" Jaune shrieked bloody murder as the gunmetal mass speeded towards him, wondering how he would stop the machine with no weaponry. Pulling his hands upwards to protect his face bracing for impa-

'Clang!' Jaune heard echoed throughout the room, peaking out from his arms he found himself face to face with the robot. Their blood red eyes illuminating each others faces, yet the most surprising thing was the blades pushing into his forearms.

Yet as the machine pushed on forward, Jaune could hear it's gears and pistons inside wheering and pumping as it's arms were pushing forward, sparks flew as the blades were being ground against his gauntlets yet Jaune himself practically felt nothing at all.

'This armor... really did work...' Jaune was astonished, it was almost as if one of those superhero suits in a sunday morning superhero shows he watched!

Jaune's vigor renewed, he looked towards the emotionless visage before him and remembered all the pain, sweat and tears that it gave him. His palm gripping itself as he pulled his fist back, releasing it towards the brothers damned thing, roaring as it flew.

Jaune saw his fist pass through it's torse, the rest of the metal chest twisting as his arm passed through, as if only now realizing the gaping maw created in the middle.

Pulling back his fist, he raised his leg and kicked it forward, the machine was immediately blown away and was left to twitch on the floor a crumbled mess of metal and nuts.

"Woah..." Jaune looked at his own hands, utterly surprised by his own strength.

'Tap tap', Jaune heard, his head snapped up as multiple androids shot up from inside the arena, two in front of him and two behind.

Jaune rolled to the left as two of the bots on his left side charged towards him, Jaune blocked a jump attack from one of the others, a meter in his peripheral dropped slightly.

Jaune retaliated, uppercutting the bot tearing it's torso with a roar, hearing steps behind him, jumping up to face his opponent only to get blindsided by one in the back.

He elbowed it so hard it blew it away, utterly pulverizing it's upper torso. Nearly dodging another blow from his right, throwing a haymaker that nearly threw himself off balance and charging the last one as it charged towards him, driving through it shoulder first. It's nuts, bolts and scraps fell to the floor, ringing as they clashed against each other.

Jaune felt great! Felt amazing, almost as if he was a one of those superheroes in his comics, his muscles were pulsing with power and his metal armor had not even a scratch on it, even his hearing was enhanced. Jaune couldn't hear his mother screaming his name for dinner yet now he could hear the footsteps of these soon to be metal scraps and the voices of Mr.Taiyang and the taps of the cane, it was awesome!

"Catch!" Jaune heard, looking towards where he heard the voice yet as he turned towards it he heard whistling upwards, glancing towards it he saw an arming sword falling to him, he sighed in relief as he barely caught it, almost dropping it multiple times even.

Yet he had no rest as he heard the headmaster's cane tap twice once more, dropping into a stance, gripping the sword, it's tip pointed upwards, with both hands as even more bots risen from beneath the arena as all within readied their weaponry, Jaune had the sword raised upwards, waste height as eight robots took to their blades another eight took upon to brandish what seemed to be... guns.

'Uh oh.'

Yet as Jaune's brain tried to search for a way out a cacophony of gunfire and a shower of dust rounds was directed towards him, covering his face with his hands as he was pelted on all directions, if you asked Jaune if the rounds actually hurt, well they didn't, it didn't stop them from being scary through.

Yet as the constant rain of rounds weakend, suddenly the rest dogpiled him, blades, fists and legs struck him over and over. Yet with a roar and great effort he forced all of them to get off of him.

He proceeded to hack and slash any of them that were near enough.

"Raagh!" As he slashed one diagonally, the blade passing straight through like butter.

"Wraah!" He cut another one from head to toe.

He continued to swing wildly, the immense power behind his untrained techniques allowing him to cut down the androids turning them into meer recyclable materials, stabbing through the last one he used it as a makeshift sheild, using it's back to protect himself from the oncoming volley he knew would come.

And come it did as a staccato of guns fired in his direction, the bot on his sword wriggling and twitching from the amount of fire it was sheilding Jaune from as he ignored the fire hitting his back. And with immense speed he dashed forward throwing the metal meat sheild towards another android while raising his arms to bisect another.

One by one the others were cut down as soon as Jaune realized he could run even faster than they could aim and fire, until the last one fell to it's legs, it's torso completely destroyed, hacked to pieces.

'Tap tap tap' the rhythmical sounds of a cane reverberated through the room, Jaune knew what that meant but was confused at the third tap. And as Jaune believed, the taps are a signal for one of these things to pop out as one rose from the middle of the arena, yet what did three meant?

The android's eyes lit as it took a stance, one bladed hand pointed towards Jaune as the left was raised above it's head as one foot was pointed forwards as the other one was positioned diagonally against it.

Jaune realized this one could fight, gripping the sword so tight that he actually crushed the handle slightly. 'Oh crapbaskets.'

The android charged forward, Jaune challenged it yet as the moment it dodged to the side and blasted the blonde with a barrage of gunfire. Jaune retaliated with a horizontal swing, cutting nothing as it dodged the teleghraped attack as it retaliated with a flurry of blade attacks.

Diagonal, horizantal, vertical and stabs. Jaune was being overwhelmed from the assault, he forced a swing horizantally towards it yet it was dodged again.

It spent a few dozen rounds towards Jaune, he jumped backwards before rolling sideways at the automatic fire.

Jaune spent a good while trying to dodge the constant pressure, yeah it didn't hurt but it was still scary!

Yet as he was ducking and weaving he nearly lost balance, his foot was halfway out the arena. 'No! Not like this, not again!' Jaune silently screamed out in horror as the memories of him jumping out the arena replayed in his mind .

The armored blonde heard metal on concrete and as he turned around he saw his opponent jump towards him. Jaune ducked at the first blade and slid beneath the next.

He kept up the pace, the two almost dancing as one kept swinging as the other kept dodging, Jaune even started using the sword to block, one hand on it's blade to give him more manueverability.

Dodging a downward swing, ducking a high kick, blocking a stab while pushing away the offending limb before it blasted a barrage of bullets.

Jumping a low kick, deflecting a jab, weaving through a rush. His newfound strength allowing him to move through the android's attacks, yet as during one of his blocks, one of it's blades got hooked on the hilt of his sword and the gears in his head turned.

He dodged and dodged, side stepping and blocking blows as he shimmied through the edge of the arena, almost falling. Yet he saw a chance, the machine threw another high kick, he held his sword by the blade and hoocked the hilt of the sword on it's leg and pulled.

The android was flung to the air, and in the single second he rolled forwards and brought his sword above his head.

The clank of the android's fall was soon followed by the loud crash of his sword's hilt being bashed into the machine's chest turning it into a metal mush. Oil spilling onto his mask.

He rose from his position, readjusting the borrowed blade.

He stood still, breathing in and out calming himself. Jaune finally felt as though he could be proud of himself for something in his life, dancing was fun and his guitar was a great present, both things he wanted because he thought it would help him in his huntsman training. 'I mean- the dancing did help.'

But now Jaune finally felt like he made actual progress, from mindlessly beating down trees and getting scared from a single security droid to cutting down an entire group of them.

No more scaredy-cat Jaune who started fights with bullies that always ended with his but being saved by his sisters, no more gossiping ladies that always talked behind his back about how much he sucked in comparison to his father, no more being stuck in some tiny village in the middle of nowhere with everyone judging you and no more will his dad say that he couldn't be a huntsman.

He took a long look at the arming sword that was given to him, Jaune had finally reached the front door to his dream.

"Well done Jaune, amateurish and inexperienced yes, but quite the tenacity, I'm impressed." The ashen haired headmaster commented taking it out from his thoughts, Jaune felt happy hearing that, someone to actually acknowledge his work.

"Though most of it was the belt's work." And with this single sentence Jaune's confidence was shot down harder than that pheasant dad shot down for dinner.

"Looked like he had some issues to work through." Mr. Taiyang jokingly called Jaune out presenting Mr.Ozpin the scroll he had been looking at for a while.

"Yes, quite so." He jokingly replied, or Jaune hoped at least- he was smiling so probably... he hoped.

"Even so, Ms.Maple would be proud of your progress." The headmaster said, a smile on his face.

These words hit Jaune as hard as the robots, he looked away scratching his head. The thought of the always smiling, nice lady that always supported Jaune's want to become a huntsman- well it was her job but still. Hearing someone who managed to get to such a position with her own two hands wanted him to succeed was the biggest comfort to him.

That reminded Jaune.

"Where is Ms.Maple anyway?"

"Ah, my apologies Mr.Arc. She's currently observing us and is recording the footage of your fight." Mr.Ozpin explained.

"Please just call me Jaune." He immediately replied, but watching huh.

"Yup." Mr.Taiyang popped the 'p' "The footage gathered today, and from this day onward will be used to further update the rider system, your belt, so that one day it can be made for mass production."

"That's why we need data on how people with no formal training since we already have data on how someone with training develops with it." Not only will Jaune stop being special if he succeed, there already WAS someone that could use the belt before him. That's ok... that's... fine. And the reason he was important was because he sucked...

"What you're doing here Jaune is some of the most important work of the generation, we're on the verge of a breakthrough and you are the key." The headmaster had his mug back and took another sip, his face was steeled.

Jaune preferred to not think about why he was chosen for a bit.

"Alright, so, do we have an-uh. Another test?" Jaune hoped it would change the subject.

"Hmmm." Both the adults looked to be in thought, a conversation without words started as they stared at each other. A shrug from Mr.Taiyang, a sip from Mr.Ozpin, The tanned blonde's eyebrows shot up and a nod from the headmaster.

Mr.Taiyang slowly stepped forward towards the ring.

"Alright Jaune, this is the last lesson for the day." Jaune nodded. "Let's see how well you do against an actual huntsman."

Huh? Well he did well so far, so maybe, just maybe...

The man in the jacket started hopping up and down, his hands were loose yet tensed 'Man! Even my eyes were upgraded!'

A wind blew from the other side of the arena and stopped behind him. Jaune turned around right as a back kick from the other blonde hit his breast place like a rocket, he flew from his position near the edge towards the opposite direction like a can shot from a cannon, nearly falling out before anchoring himself with the sword, a thin line formed through the floor.

He saw a yellow blur charge at him, instinctively he threw the sword with the force of a car at the living rocket only for it to be swatted away like a fly. The blade getting stuck on the wall.

In a single moment he was swept by the legs and was suddenly airborne, Mr.Taiyang suddenly went low, his feet diagonal to each other as he snaked his left hand behind him as the other was waved forward, his palm raised horizontally and pointed forward.

And in an instant, while Jaune hasn't even touched the ground, the huntsman flew towards him in a flying side kick flinging him off the arena.

And as Jaune crashed against the wall and fell, his armor chimed with each tumble, he humorously thought of how little that actually hurt.

It was more of a mental attack more than anything as the last remnant of his newfound confidence was shattered like the moon.

"Good quick thinking kid." Mr.Taiyang helped him get up.

"I believe it's time to finish this first examination, good job Jaune." Mr.Ozpin walked towards him. "Now pull on the lever once more and pull out the card."

And Jaune did so, a mechanical beep sounded as the holographic card as his armor vanished.

And suddenly his legs turned off on him, muscle pain wrought throughout his body and before he fell one of them caught him. "Oooough..." he groaned.

"There there buddy, we're stopping at the cafeteria for lunch before showing you your new place to stay here in Patch as well as showing you to your main teacher, here we go." Jaune heard as he was carried in one hand and his bag in the other.

And as the three left the room, a certain Faunus looked through the screen of the security cams showing them, a smile on her face.

'Congratulations Jaune.' His tenacity was finally rewarded. Pressing send on the footage, she decided to continue on her work, the mountain of paperwork really needed to at least have a dent in it by nightfall.

A pure white laboratory located in Atlas was filled with the sound of footsteps as dozens of scientists and engineers paced through the building, each busy with their own work, from weaponry and armor to the mundane cleaning items, MREs and utensils.

Yet as the hustle of the busy workplace would put anyone in anxiety two men in front of a screen were serene.

"The distribution of force and aura seem to be far more balanced isn't it Dr.Polendina, still seems to strain the user sadly." The taller of the two, with scraggly white hair said to the other. Writing furiously into a note.

"Though our efforts to reduce aura use seem to have succeeded, it seems to still stress the user as much as the Garren system does even if only after use." Said doctor replied, tapping notes into a scroll, his dark skin contrasting both his lab coat and the ivory room. Shifting in his wheelchair to a more comfortable position.

"Perhaps it's only due to the test subject's unfamiliarity with the rider system's nature, with longer exposure to the system may result in more concise results." Merlot replied.

"True. I'll be checking the notes at my office, got to find a way to make the aura conductors more efficient just in case, say, should we start on designing their personal weaponry?" The man said to his colleague, said scientist put his pencil to his chin, head faced upwards in thought.

"Hmmm, perhaps the blueprints for Garren's personal weapon can start production after it's update, but, Blade's shouldn't be high up on the priority list at this stage at least." Dr.Polendina hummed in agreement towards Merlot's assessment.

"The development has made leaps and bounds, if done properly not even a speck of dust would be needed for munition, though it still proves a problem though due to lack of ranged capabilities." Polendina continued on his train of thought.

The Masked rider project was truly one of the most ambitious projects he was ever a part of, one of the rare few that made use of his studies on not only mechanics but also his aura research!

But credit where credit is due, his new partner's work truly were a miracle.

"It's great to have you here Merlot, it really has become easier now that you came in."

"Oh please doctor, I've done nothing but tweek the groundwork that you made!" He humbly replied, he raised his hands in conversation yet his eyes were still on the footage. "Besides, I wouldn't miss a chance like this for the world! It ties into my own research to such a similar degree I might even deem it destiny! Haha!"

The man chuckled, Dr. Merlot, the founder of Merlot industries, one of many companies making sure Atlas stayed on top of the tech industries. While his recent hobby of Grimm research, his breakthrough with the rider system allowing him into the deeper circle, the knowledge invigorated him to work even harder.

His AI research allowed Dr.Polendina's aura conductors to more efficiently spread the users' aura to the areas it was needed in, using a special arithmetic that would predict which area the user would push aura into and relieve some of the stress of the user. In theory at least

"Well then, until we've received new data, I'll be off to my own workplace! I'm quite excited to be designing some blueprints to update Garren up to Blade's standards." The slightly overweight man walked off, a pep in his step.

"Say hello to your daughter for me!" The skinny doctor yelled out.

"Of course!" He returned, excited to share the data with Penny. She was getting used to her new life here near Atlas academy, it was quite the enjoyable sight seeing her run around every night trying to understand everything.

She truly was his daughter...

Now off he goes before Ironwood would scold him for daydreaming in the middle of the hallway again

Merlot only continued to replay the footage, a smile on his face.

"I really can't believe that's me..." Jaune beamed at the footage of his fight, the silver clad knight bouncing from foe to foe was... him.

"Alrighty kiddo, it's time for lunch." Mr.Taiyang brought a tray of food as they sat in the school cafeteria, Jaune was still amazed at how big everything was compared to his school back in Ansel, even the food. He returned the scroll to the teacher as he dug in his meal.

After Jaune got lunch after a good hour of rest, letting his body catch up to the stress he put it through, Jaune was given a thorough explanation of how his internship was going to go about training.

Jaune had a quick talk with his dad -mostly due to the akward atmosphere they had since they just fought- about what internship's were and how thing's were going to go down but that was shot down when Mr.Ozpin said that this was more like an apprenticeship with multiple huntsmen and academies.

The thought made Jaune dizzy, he only really had experience in how Ansel did it, which had like three teachers in a school not even one tenth's of the size of Signal.

But he was also excited.

He get's to be tutored by a proffesional huntsman! A dream come true for Jaune.

They walked through the halls of Signal once more, going pass the training halls this time. Jaune's legs were still aching however, way more than any one dance session could.

"Hey Mr.Taiyang! What kind of huntsman is he?!" He decided to ignore the pain via conversation.

At the sudden question Taiyang made a peculiar face, looking away from Jaune.

"He's... a good guy. Yeah." That certainly didn't give Jaune confidence in the guy.

"Not to worry Jaune, he is quite frankly one of the most reliable huntsman out there, with the strength of a hundred men and the cunning of the most veteran of warriors. If you were to put your trust into anyone it would be the man who is going to teach you." Jaune's mouth was left agape, if what the fine suited headmaster was true then this guy must be like a super huntsman!

Especially if the headmaster of Beacon acadamy was standing up for him.

"Eeh, he's not wrong." Mr.Taiyang shrugged. "And looks like we're here." They stood before a wooden door, a plaque with 'Qrow Branwen' written on it.

Yet as the huntsman grabbed the door knob he sighed.

"Oz, are you SURE, you don't want me doing this? Like, Qrow is already busy enough."

He only heard the sound of sipping as a reply.

"Ahkay... Hey Qrow we're coming in buddy." He opened the door as Jaune looked on in with stars in his eyes.

Only to face the man with upside his desk drunk, bottles littered the floor as the man's fancy casual suit was opposed by his lack of pants, heart shaped boxers, exposed for all the world to see.

"I-eh what? Oh, hey Tai." The man drunkenly called to the taller blonde, his crimson eyes still cloudy. Jaune could see Mr.Taiyang facepalm, Mr.Ozpin's eyes were hidden with a mysterious shine, while Jaune... Jaune couldn't hold his face back from making a face of disappointment.

"Qrow, did you forget about today's appointment?"

"Tai! I think I'm seein' two of ya... and one is a dwarf!" He drunkenly commented.

"I swear he can get better." Ozpin patted Jaune's shoulder, he wasn't sure if it made him feel better.

But one thing was sure, today was hell of a day.

I'm so sorry, there really isn't anything I can say except that.

Well there is another thing, something else, starting from this chapter, I'm going to upload new chapters only every other week.

I really wanted to at least get through this pace for another few chapters, but work is really getting in the way.

Hopefully this would let me make slightly longer chapters, and way, WAY less typos because Jesus. Last chapter was BAD.

Thank you, thank all of you over 30 people who takes their time to read my story.

logging out, see you all next time.
