Robin- Find out more in this chapter! ;) There will definitely be some problems in that department now that Santana's back and her book is #1. Though I'm not sure if paps are really interested in stalking rising book authors and authors are pretty lowkey most of the time, I think. Lol

CHAPTER 11

"Yeah, mom, we're 2 minutes out. You guys go ahead inside and get a table for all of us." Brittany tells her mom on the phone. "Okay, see you guys in a bit." She nods and disconnects the call before placing her phone back in her purse.

"They're early," Santana smirks without taking her eyes off the road and Brittany chuckles.

"I know. They've been super hyped-up since yesterday. It's like the adrenaline never wore off or something."

Santana parks at the parking space right across from their favorite Chicago resto-bar and unbuckles her seatbelt. "I don't blame them. We just graduated yesterday and you, my love, already have a job at The Joffrey." She leans in to kiss Brittany and mumbles "We have so much to celebrate" against her lips as she pulls back from the kiss. "I'm so proud of you, baby." She tells Brittany before leaning back into her seat and collecting her purse from the backseat.

"I'm so proud of you too, babe." Brittany smiles lovingly at her and the brunette winks at her before the two finally get out of the car and cross the street.

Brittany's parents, Santana's dad, and Quinn who also came to Chicago for her best friend's graduation were seated at one of the long tables near the mini-stage of the restaurant and both women immediately spotted them. They exchanged hugs and ordered their food shortly thereafter. After dinner, Brittany headed over to the bar to order beer for their table.

"Hello, is this thing on?" the sound of the microphone feedback echoes through the room and everyone turns their attention to the mini-stage and they see a flamboyant man talking. The man mouths "oops" when the customers cover their ears because of the echo. "Sorry about that." He giggles.

"Well, I see that almost everyone is having their nightcap now so I think it's time that we start our Wednesday Open Mic Night, right guys?" He says excitedly as he points the microphone to the audience and he hears a lot of "yes" and whistles from them. "Alright, who wants to go first?"

Santana raises her hand quickly and the man laughs on the microphone. "Of course, you would. Come on up, girl." He waves the brunette over to the stage and she quickly gets up from her chair. "Ladies and gentlemen, our resident open mic diva, Santana Lopez!" He announces as Santana steps on the stage and the audience gives her a round of applause. Brittany, Quinn, and their parents gave, of course, the loudest cheers.

The young man hugs Santana before giving her the microphone and getting off the stage. The brunette then approaches the band and hands them a sheet of paper that she took out from her back pocket. She walks back to the center of the stage and smiles widely.

"Thanks, Kurt." She smiles and winks at the young man who's now standing on the side of the stage. She then turns her gaze back to the audience. "Good evening, everyone. My name is Santana and yes, I am always singing here on open-mic nights so I hope I don't disappoint all the first-timers here." The audience laughs and she giggles as her brown eyes lock with Brittany's blue ones.

"The song I'll be singing today is dedicated to my wonderful girlfriend, Brittany." She declares and sends Brittany a flying kiss which the blonde catches and places on her heart. 'Awwws' echo through the restaurant as the band plays the intro to the song.

I got lucky

Finding you

I won big the day I came across you

'Cause when you're with me

I don't feel blue

Not a day goes by that I would not redo

The beat picks up and the audience starts to clap their hands to the beat. Santana is still staring at Brittany who's smiling widely at her.

Everybody wants to love

It's easy when you try hard enough

That's right

Santana gets off the stage and starts walking towards Brittany. She points her finger at Brittany as she sings the chorus.

You'll always be my day one

Day zero when I was no one

I'm nothing by myself

You and no one else

Thankful you're my day one

I'm thankful you're my day one

She kisses Brittany's cheek when she arrives at their table and takes Brittany's hand before pulling her up and leading her back to the stage. She locks eyes with the blonde and stares at her lovingly as they stand front and center on the stage.

When I first met you

It just felt right

It's like I met a copy of myself that night

I don't believe in fate as such

But we were meant to be together, that's my hunch

Everybody wants true love

It's out there if you look hard enough, enough, enough

She spins Brittany around and pulls her right back into her as she sings the chorus again. She then places her hand around Brittany's waist and Brittany does the same. They dance to the beat of the song as Santana continues to sing and stare at Brittany with the sincerest look on her face, letting the blonde know that she means every word of the song.

Hour by hour

Minute by minute

I got mad love for you and you know it

I would never leave you on your own

I just want you to know

The band stops and Santana pulls back from their embrace. She then takes Brittany's hand and starts to sing the last chorus acapella.

You'll always be my day one

Day zero when I was no one

I'm nothing by myself

You and no one else

Thankful you're my day one

The almost deafening sound of applause and whistles fill the whole room and gets even louder as Brittany kisses Santana's lips hard. They pull back from the kiss and giggle when they hear the audience cheering for them.

"I love you," Santana tells the blonde.

"I love you too. So much." Brittany replies and gives the brunette one last peck on the lips before Santana hands the microphone to the guitarist and starts to get off the stage. Brittany lets go of Santana's hand and immediately takes the microphone back from the guy. Santana turns back around and furrows her eyebrows.

"What are you doing, Britt?" She asks but the blonde just winks at her and pulls her back to the stage.

"Well, she certainly made this easier for me." She says and the audience giggles with her. She lets out a deep breath and smiles nervously while facing Santana. "You see, Santana and I didn't always agree with each other. When we were in high school, she was the Top Student and President of the Student Government and I was Head Bitch, literally, of the Cheerleading Squad. You know how that goes." She laughs. "But back then, I only made it a mission to annoy the crap out of her to gain her attention because I was attracted to her, and one day at the beginning of Senior Year, I finally mustered the courage to ask her out and the rest is history."

She lifts Santana's hand and kisses it before continuing, "Even though we can still sometimes be the cat and mouse that we used to be in high school, I want you to know that you'll always be my day one, too. Even if you're so unorganized and you can't cook for shit..." Brittany giggles while Santana playfully glares at her. "I love you and will always choose you. It will always be you now and forever…" She pauses and takes a deep breath as she feels like her heart is about to burst out of her chest. She then drops on one knee and the audience gasps. "If you'll have me."

"Oh my god." Santana's eyes fill with tears and she covers her mouth with both hands when she sees Brittany taking out a diamond ring from her jean pocket. "Britt… are you serious?" She whispers.

Brittany planned to propose to Santana at their table in front of their parents and Quinn but after Santana just declared her love for Brittany in front of all these people through a song, the blonde thought that she just opened the perfect opportunity for a perfect proposal.

"Santana Marie Lopez, will you be willing to be my wife and spend a lifetime with me?" She chokes out as she starts to tear up as well.

Santana pulls her up and kisses her lips hard, not caring that they both can taste each other's tears. The audience cheers loudly as they pull back from the kiss and Santana giggles.

"Yes!" Santana yells and nods frantically while her tears continue to cascade down her face. "Yes, I will marry you and spend a lifetime with you, Brittany Pierce." She laughs and Brittany grins as she slips the ring on Santana's ring finger. Santana then wraps her arms around Brittany's neck and the blonde does the same on her waist. "I love you so fucking much, Britt." She whispers in the blonde's ear.

"I love you too, Santana," Brittany replies happily. She hands the microphone back to the guitarist and tightens her hold on Santana's waist before lifting her and spinning on stage. "We're getting married!" She screams, causing the audience to cheer for them again. She puts Santana back down and cups her face to kiss her before getting off the stage.

Santana opens her eyes and her lips immediately form a smile as she remembers the dream she just had when Brittany proposed to her. She blindly reaches her right arm behind her but finds out it's empty and cold. She figures Brittany has been up for a while now. She lays on her back and stares at the ceiling with a smile for a few minutes before her smile drops. She looks around the room and frowns when she sees that she's in an unfamiliar room, however, she knows Brittany's there because of her signature vanilla scent.

The brunette rubs the sleep from her eyes and gets up from the bed. She just now notices her naked body so she grabs her underwear and a shirt on the floor. "Did we redecorate or something?" She whispers to herself as she looks around the room once more before going out of the bedroom. Her eyebrows furrow once again when she walks into the unfamiliar hallway and the kitchen.

"Britt-Britt?" She calls out as she sees the blonde by the stove and the blonde turns her back to face her with a bright smile on her face.

"Santana?" Brittany chokes out as the realization dawns on her and tears start rolling down her face.

"Uh, yeah, Britt." She then furrows her eyebrows when she sees Brittany crying. "What's going on? Why are you crying? And why are we in New York, Britt?"

"Oh my god." Brittany sobs and immediately wraps her arms tightly around the brunette's neck. "You're back." She says in between her sniffling.

"Britt, I don't understand. What do you mean I'm back?" She asks with an annoyed tone as Brittany still refuses to answer her questions. Brittany pulls back from the hug, drags her back to the bedroom and she urges Santana to sit on the bed.

"S-Stay here first. I'll be back later and explain everything. I need to call Quinn." She says as she wipes her tears and grabs her phone. She goes out of the bedroom and dials Mercedes's number first. She picks up after two rings and Brittany immediately explains everything to her. The blonde asks her a huge and out-of-the-way favor of picking up Maddison at the apartment and dropping her off at school. Mercedes agrees to do the favor and tells Brittany not to worry about it because she understands the situation. Brittany then calls in at work before finally calling Quinn.

"Hello?" Quinn croaks out on the other line

"Q, I'm so sorry to call you this early but, it's Santana." The blonde explains. "She remembers, Quinn." She tells the other blonde and she can hear rustling on the other end.

"What?"

"Yes, Q. She just woke up this morning and she called me Britt-Britt. Then she started to ask me why we're in New York and who Olivia is." She tells Quinn as she starts pacing in the living room. "I-I dragged her back in the bedroom and told her I'll explain later… after I get Maddi dressed for school and Mercedes picks her up from here. I just called in at work"

"Wow, okay." Quinn breathes out and pauses for a moment.

"I don't want her to see Maddison yet when she still has no idea what's going on so I insisted that she stay in the bedroom and I'll come back for her later.

"Yeah, seeing Maddi right now will confuse her even more. Good call, Britt." She pauses and takes a deep breath before continuing, "We need to get her a psych eval. I mean, I already have a hunch about what's wrong with Santana but I just need to know if I'm right. I know someone in New York and I'll call her right after this. I'll come down there today."

Brittany's tears start flowing again. "O-Okay. But you don't have to come down here, Quinn. Just give me the doctor's number and I'll set an appointment."

"It's fine, Britt. I'll set the appointment and text you the details and of course, I have to be there. You two need my support and I will be there."

Brittany sniffles and sighs, "Thanks, Q. Just let me know what time you're arriving so we can pick you up at the train station."

"Okay, Britt. Just… take it easy, okay? She's going to be confused and angry right now so be patient with her." She says softly.

Brittany glances at the hallway and nods, "I will, Q. See you later. Bye. "

"Bye, Britt."

After the call with Quinn, Brittany went to Maddison's bedroom to wake her up and get her dressed for school. She prepared the little girl's lunch and explained that Mercedes will be dropping her off at school because Mami is sick and Mommy needs to take care of her. Maddison nodded in understanding and finished eating her breakfast.

Santana is pacing back and forth in the bedroom when she suddenly hears muffled voices outside. Her impatience takes over her and she opens the bedroom door and storms out. She freezes in her spot when she walks into the living room and a little brunette girl runs towards her.

"Mami!" She chirps as she hugs Santana's leg.

Santana furrows her eyebrows and glances at Brittany before looking down at the little girl. Her eyes fill with tears as Maddison looks up and locks eyes with her. "H-Hi." She croaks out.

Mercedes walks towards her with teary eyes as well and hugs her tightly. "Hey, girl." She whispers and then pulls back before tapping Santana's shoulder. Mercedes then takes Maddison's hand, "C'mon baby girl, we're gonna be late for school." She smiles at Santana and Brittany before exiting the living room and the front door.

Brittany's dejected eyes lock with the brunette's confused ones. She then walks a few steps towards Santana and takes her hand before guiding her to the couch. They sit on the couch facing each other.

"What the fuck, Britt?" She asks angrily as more tears stream down her face. "Did I just wake up from a coma or something?!"

Brittany sighs. "Sort of."

"Sort of?" Santana asks with her eyebrows furrowed and Brittany nods.

"Yeah. What's the last thing you remember?"

Santana lets out a deep breath as she places her elbows on her knees and runs her hands through her hair. "Um, I-I don't know." She looks up at Brittany confused, "We were in Lima for Abuela's birthday, I think."

"And then?"

"Then we had dinner with my dad and then…" She pauses as she furrows her eyebrows again, racking her brain for more details.

"What happened after we had dinner with your dad, San?" Brittany asks carefully as tears start forming in her eyes again.

Santana shakes her head. "I don't know, Brittany. I can't remember." She then drops her head on both of her hands and Brittany pulls back one hand from her face and holds it in between her hands.

"San…" she pauses as tears stream down her face. "That was five years ago." She whispers. She opens her mouth again to say something but immediately closes it as she decides against telling Santana about her dad considering how confused the brunette already is.

Santana's eyes widen at the revelation and take her hand from Brittany. "F-Fi… Five… Five years?!" She stutters while standing up from the couch and shaking her head frantically. "Britt, what are you talking about? I-It's not… What?!" She yells.

"San, calm down." She pleads as she stands up and attempts to grab the brunette's hand again.

"Calm down?! How… how am I supposed to calm down, Brittany?" She asks loudly again. Brittany steps forward and hugs her tightly to try and calm her down. Santana fights the hug at first as she continues to sob but eventually calms down.

"Sshhh. Calm down, baby. Let's sit on the couch and I'll explain everything to you." The blonde chokes out a sob as well while running her hand up and down Santana's back. She pulls back from the hug and guides the brunette again to sit on the couch. Brittany wipes her tears as she faces the Latina and holds her hands.

"After dinner that night, you dropped me and Maddi off at my parents' house. You said you forgot to get something from your room so you went back to your dad's house. That was the last time I ever saw you." Brittany takes her phone from the coffee table and types something. "We looked for you all over Ohio but to no avail. Then I went back to Chicago, hoping that you would come back to our house. We thought you were dead but 3 months ago, the day after your birthday, Mercedes called when I was in Lima and she told me you were alive. I didn't believe it at first but… here." She hands her phone to Santana and the brunette hesitantly accepts it.

"Ladies and gentlemen, here to promote her New York Times best-selling book for the first time, rising author Olivia Wright!"

Santana's eyes widen as she watches the video of Michael Strahan introducing her as Olivia Wright and she sees herself walking into the studio. Brittany allows her to watch the whole interview and she drops the phone to her lap after the video ends.

"I went to your book signing the next day and that's how we got you back, well, not entirely since you didn't remember anything from your past. And I thought you never would." Brittany sniffles.

"I… I don't remember any of this either, Britt." Santana states. "What the fuck is wrong with me?"

Brittany shakes her head and shifts herself so she can lean back on the couch and cuddle Santana. "I don't know, baby. We're still trying to figure out what happened to you when you disappeared 5 years ago." She hears Santana crying so she plants a kiss on top of the brunette's head and runs her fingers through her dark brown locks. "Quinn's coming down from New Haven today. She said she may have an idea of what happened to your memories so we're going to see a friend of hers later for a psych eval."

Santana continues to cry silently and just nods her head, not processing everything Brittany's saying at the moment. After a while, she asks Brittany to continue telling her about the last 5 years. Brittany obliges but she treads lightly on the information she tells the brunette to avoid overwhelming her even more.

A little after lunch, Quinn and her psychiatrist friend, Dr. Marley Rose came over to Brittany's apartment. They've decided that it's best to do the psych eval at the apartment instead of the clinic so Santana could feel comfortable. Quinn introduces Marley to Brittany and they exchange pleasantries before Brittany ushers Marley to their bedroom where Santana is waiting so the doctor could assess the brunette in private. The two blondes wait in the living room and after an hour, Marley walks into the living room and sits on the loveseat.

"She's resting now. It's been an emotional day for her." She smiles softly at the two blondes as she leans back on the chair and crosses her legs. "Well, Quinn filled me in on everything this morning and after talking to Santana, I can safely say that Quinn's hunch is right. Santana may have suffered from a rare condition called Dissociative Fugue Disorder."

Brittany furrows her eyebrows and turns to Quinn. "It's a form of amnesia wherein the patient loses their identity or what is sometimes referred to as autobiographical memories and in most cases, they give themselves a new identity to cope with the confusion and inability to remember their past. Which is why we found Santana as Olivia," Quinn explains. "Remember when we met them at the café a few months ago and I asked her about her parents?" She asks and Brittany nods. "I had already suspected it back then since people who have this condition often get extremely uncomfortable and perplexed when they're confronted or asked about their past."

"This condition can be triggered by severe trauma and since Quinn told me that Santana has no history of being abused as a child, we can certainly trace her trauma back to the night she disappeared in Lima," Marley interjects.

"Yeah, um… her dad was murdered that night and her car was there but she was gone when I got back to her dad's house." She explains to Marley quietly to make sure that Santana doesn't hear her.

"That explains it." Marley nods.

Quinn reaches for Brittany's knee and squeezes it to comfort her. "This happens when a person experiences severe trauma that they can't cope with. It's like an escape route from extreme stress. It's also often associated with unexpected travel away from their home and the person is most often in a trance. When they wake up in a new place, they have no idea how they got there."

"What about Olivia?" Brittany asks.

"As of now, Olivia and that life don't exist in her conscious mind anymore." Marley states and Brittany frowns. "I know, it's confusing. The brain works in mysterious ways and because of its complexity, we also need to make sure this doesn't happen to her again."

Brittany stares at Marley curiously. "So it's still possible for Olivia to come back?"

"Yes," Marley nods. "But we need to avoid that from happening because if her fugue state recurs, then we might've to diagnose her with Dissociative Identity Disorder, formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder."

"And how do we do that?" Brittany asks.

"Well, we have to figure out the source of her trauma and deal with that so she can start coming to terms with it. But her brain is still blocking the memory of that night." Marley states.

Quinn turns to face Brittany again. "Which means, she might need to go back to Lima, Britt. There's a high probability of her regaining the memory of that night if she goes back."

"But that can wait. She's in a fragile state right now with her realizing that she spent the last 5 years being someone else and having no memory of her past, that's a lot to take in. I will recommend for her to start therapy." Marley interjects and Quinn and Brittany nod. "We need to help her regain her life as Santana and maybe she'll eventually remember that night through therapy. She also might be able to recover her memories from her 'fugue state' or her life as Olivia, but it's not a guarantee that she will."

"Will she be on medication during the treatment?" Brittany asks.

Marley shakes her head. "Not necessarily. Patients may exhibit anxiety and depression once they're out of their fugue state but as long as Santana doesn't show symptoms of having those, then we can hold off on the medication."

"Which is why therapy and family support is essential during this challenging phase, Britt," Quinn adds softly.

Marley smiles at both of them. "Do you have any more questions, Brittany?"

"Um, none at the moment. Quinn's here anyway so any question I might have later, I'll just ask her." Brittany smiles and Marley nods.

"Okay. Well, I think I'm done here." Marley says as she stands up and gathers her things. "Call me if you need anything." She then hands her business card to Brittany before they shake hands. Quinn walks Marley to the door and comes back to sit beside Brittany.

"How are you feeling?" She asks.

Brittany lets out a breath she's been holding and slumps back on the couch. "Exhausted, but more so concerned." She turns her head to face Quinn. "What if she falls into depression because of all this, Q?"

"We'll make sure that she won't," Quinn reassures her. "I'm starting her therapy soon to make sure she copes with the situation accordingly."

Brittany narrows her eyes at Quinn. "How are you gonna do her therapy when you're in New Haven?"

"Well…" Quinn drawls. "Good thing I'm moving my practice here then, huh?" She smiles widely and Brittany's eyes widen.

"Seriously?" She asks loudly but lowers her voice again. "Seriously?"

"Very." Quinn nods. "I've thought about your suggestion a few weeks ago about me moving here and I think it's about time. I've already started to reassign my patients in New Haven to some colleagues and started to look for apartments online. I was gonna surprise you this weekend but I guess, the time is now."

Brittany smiles genuinely at her. "That's awesome, Q. We need all the support we can get especially now that she's back." Her smile drops and the other blonde immediately notices. Quinn takes her hand and squeezes it.

"Hey, that's why it's the perfect timing for me to move here. We can discuss her treatment plan and start her sessions immediately once I'm settled. I also recommend that you join some of her sessions."

Brittany nods. "Thanks, Q. Just let me know how much I need to pay you for your services."

Quinn furrows her eyebrows and shakes her head. "No, Britt. You're not paying me." She smiles softly at Brittany, "You two are family to me, so I'm offering my services for free." She then pulls in Brittany for a hug.

"Thank you so much, Q. You're an angel," Brittany whispers against Quinn's hair. She pulls back and Quinn smirks at her.

"Eh, I don't know about angel but you're welcome."

Brittany pulls back from the hug and leans back on the couch. "So, I'm guessing we're not the only reason you're moving here?" She states when she turns her head to face Quinn with a raised eyebrow and a smirk.

Quinn's face is immediately flushed as she giggles nervously. "W-What makes you say that?" She shifts in her seat to face Brittany and leans her body on the couch.

Brittany chuckles at her evident blushing. "Well, first of all, you're blushing so hard right now. Second, I've known you practically since we were babies. You met someone, didn't you?" She teases.

"Ugh, I hate it when you do that." Quinn groans and rolls her eyes.

"Do what?"

"That…" She points to Brittany and the other blonde just furrows her eyebrows, "When you read me correctly all the damn time." She tells Brittany. She sighs eventually and smiles coyly, "And of course, you got me… again."

"I knew it!" Brittany giggles. "So, who's the lucky man?"

"Woman." Quinn whispers and Brittany raises her eyebrows. "And you kind of already know her." She grins awkwardly.

"Oh, really? Who is it?"

"It's Rachel."

"What?" Brittany's eyes widened in shock. "Rachel as in Olivia's… Santana's… ugh! That Rachel?" She asks and Quinn nods. "Wow. How did that happen? Last time I checked, you weren't even into girls?" She giggles.

Quinn rolls her eyes but giggles anyway. "Yes, that Rachel. We've been in touch since that night at the café 3 months ago and we kind of went out on a date the day after Maddison's talent show at school."

"And you never told me?" Brittany feigns being hurt at her friend's secrecy.

Quinn rolls her eyes playfully. "I'm telling you now, aren't I? She's one of the reasons why moving here seems easier for me and I want us to work. You love who you love, right? It's what you always told me."

"So… you love her?" Brittany smirks.

"Okay, hold your horses there, Britt." Quinn smiles. "I'm sure I haven't reached that level yet but I'm certain we're headed there, eventually."

Brittany nods and pulls her in for a hug, "Well, I'm happy for you, Q. And I'm excited that we're finally gonna be in the same city again."

"Me too, Britt." She nods against Brittany's shoulder. She pulls back from the hug and smirks at Brittany. "So, she just woke up this morning and remembered everything?

Brittany rolls her eyes at Quinn and blushes, "Yeah, um... She stayed over last night."

"Huh. And you had sex." Quinn points out, still smirking.

"We made love, thank you very much," Brittany replies while shoving Quinn playfully. Quinn just nods at her and has that look on her face which lets Brittany know that she has something on her mind. "What?"

Quinn smiles genuinely at her. "Just like Marley said, the brain works in mysterious ways. You said she started remembering bits and pieces of her past when she kissed you and when Maddi played your wedding song at her talent show, right? She asks with a smile and Brittany nods. "Happy times, Britt. That's what triggered her memories."

They hear the sound of a bedroom door closing. Santana walks into the living room with a blank look on her face and Brittany taps the space in between her and Quinn so Santana could sit.

The brunette greets and hugs Quinn first before cuddling close to Brittany. Quinn attempts to stand up from the couch.

"Well, I should go and give you guys some privacy."

"It's okay, Q. Stay for dinner." Santana tells her quietly and Brittany nods at Quinn. She sits back down on the couch and then just stays silent for a few minutes until Brittany clears her throat.

"Quinn is moving to New York soon and once she's settled in, she's going to start with your therapy," Brittany states while she runs her fingers through Santana's hair. The brunette just nods and Brittany looks over at Quinn who mouths "Just let her be."

Later that night, they all sat at the dinner table where Santana just listened to all of Maddison's stories from her day at school and stared at her beautiful 6-year old daughter wistfully. Brittany looked at her worriedly but Quinn touched her arm and gave her a reassuring smile. After dinner, Quinn explained to the couple some options that she could use for Santana's treatment which ranged from psychotherapy, hypnosis, behavioral therapy, and meditation. Again, Santana just nodded to everything and excused herself to the bedroom.

"Just give her time, Britt. She's still processing everything and the best thing you can do right now is reassure her that you'll be by her side as she goes through all of this." She reassures the blonde and Brittany nods while they're doing the dishes.

Quinn bids goodbye to Brittany after washing the dishes saying she's going to stay at Rachel's apartment for the night. Brittany asked her to not tell Rachel yet about Santana being back and said she'll call the Berrys herself and let them know. Quinn agreed and left the apartment. After bathing Maddison and getting her ready for bed, Brittany entered their bedroom quietly. She changed into her pajamas and brushed her teeth before laying down.

She hears Santana sniffling so she turns to face the brunette's back and moves closer to her. She wraps her arm around Santana's stomach and kisses the brunette's neck before nuzzling her head into it while Santana pulls the blonde's arm tightly into her.

"I'm here, baby. I'm not going anywhere." Brittany chokes out as tears start to stream down her face as well. She feels the weight of Santana's emotions and she wishes that she could take it all away for her. She spoons Santana tightly as they continue to cry quietly in each other's arms until they cry themselves to sleep.

Song: Day One by HONNE
