Grazi, Velma, and Mamie all changed together in the ladies room, still giddy and giggling after their water fight with the boys. Mamie had seemed a bit quiet on the train ride over but she turned out to be anything but. In fact, she seemed eager to have some girls to talk things over with and immediately began to pepper Velma and Graziella with questions about the gang and their dynamics. She also confessed to having "popped Diesel's cherry" the previous week and provided some rather personal details, which sent all three of the girls into giggling hysterics. However, Grazi turned to brushing out the knots in her long hair when Velma began to talk about her own experiences with Mouthpiece, hoping that the attention wouldn't turn to her. She'd never hated her virginity more. Luckily, Mamie changed the subject.

"Have you thought about cutting your hair, Graz?" Mamie dug through her bag for her own hairbrush.

All too happy with the change in topic, Grazi answered quickly. "No, not really. Why?" She turned to the mirror to study her long, dark curtain of hair. She'd never had short hair, not since she was a little girl.

Mamie, apparently afraid that she'd offended, hurried to correct herself. "Not that it ain't cute the way it is. It looks great."

"No, no," Grazi assured her. "I'd just never thought about it." She pondered her reflection again. "That might not be a bad idea." She suddenly realized that short hair might be the perfect thing to represent the new image she was trying to project. New hair for a new Graziella. "I think I'll do that."

"Only if you're sure," said Mamie. "You're pretty as hell the way you are."

"Isn't she?" Velma chimed in. "Did ya see the way all the boys were looking at her?"

Mamie smiled as she brushed her hair. "Drooling is more like it. One boy in particular," she said.

"See!" Velma cried, poking Graziella in in the arm. "She didn't think he liked her. She's been pining after him for months."

Grazi swatted Velma away good naturally. "Alright, you won! You were right, as usual." She pulled her hair back into a high ponytail and tied it with a white ribbon.

"Well, I think that's great," said Mamie, kindly. Grazi liked her a lot. "Diesel says that he's never really had a girl before."

Velma frowned, looking confused. "Are you kidding? Is Diesel new around here?" She dug around in her bag, searching for her makeup. She pulled out a gold tube of lipstick and began to apply it. "Tony always has a girl. They love him." She turned to Grazi, who had begun to do her own makeup. "It's different with you though, I'm sure of it. He really likes you."

Mamie was quiet for a moment. "Yeah. Tony," she mumbled. Grazi thought she looked embarrassed and wondered if she'd been talking about Tony at all. Who had she meant? Grazi was dying to ask but didn't want to embarrass Mamie. She knew how hard it was to be new. Velma didn't seem to notice.

"Now that you know, you have to help me get them together," Velma told Mamie. "Play matchmaker."

Mamie smiled, apparently recovering from her mistake. "Whatever you say."

"Teaming up on me?" Grazi asked, unable to hide her grin. It felt like the girls were forming their own little gang within the gang. She liked it. She finished applying her lipstick and began to put away her things. "We'll have to get some of the other boys girlfriends," she said. "So we can have an even number for future water fights."

Velma smiled wickedly. "Hell. Why do you think I'm so eager to hook you and Tony up? I needed some damn sanity around here." She nodded towards Mamie. "Mamie was just a happy surprise."

Mamie chuckled. "Happy to help."

Grazi picked up her bag. "I'm going to head out. See you girls out there."

"You better get Tony to kiss you today," Velma called as she left.

"That's the plan," Graziella said over her shoulder as she pushed open the door. She'd been expecting to find the whole crowd of boys outside (how long could they possibly take to get ready?) but the only two she saw were Tony and Riff. They were deep in conversation, with their backs to her and apparently didn't hear the bathroom door open.

"I just don't get why you can't be nice to her," Tony said, his voice low.

"I told ya, I'm being nice!" Riff was whispering but he was clearly exasperated. "What do you want from me?"

"You ain't said a word to her all day. I've never seen you act like this." Tony leaned in a bit closer. "Is there something wrong?" he asked.

"God Tony, no! I already told ya!"

"You know you can tell me," Tony said. "Whatever it is."

"Well, it's nothing." Riff sighed. "I already said. I just don't get why she has to come to every damn thing."

Grazi felt her stomach drop and chose that moment to make her presence known. She really didn't want to hear whatever it was that Riff had to say about her. What the hell had she ever done to him? "Hey!" she said, pretending that she'd just walked up. She forced herself to smile. "Where is everyone?"

Tony matched her smile. "The water war kept going in the bathroom. Hopefully they're drying off now."

"I'll go tell them to get a move on," Riff said, then walked off to the bathroom without waiting for a response.

Tony turned back to Grazi and took her hand again. "You look great," he told her, referring to her outfit change. "Really great."

Grazi rolled her eyes. Despite the fresh makeup, she knew that she looked like a wet mess. There was only so much you could do in a public restroom. "I think you're lying to me, Tony. But I appreciate it."

"Hey now, don't you call me a liar," Tony said, his voice as smooth as butter. "I mean it. You're a knock out." Grazi tried to play it cool but she felt giddy. It seemed like Velma was going to get her wish. This was the moment.

Grazi stood on her toes and leaned in. Tony wrapped his arms around Graziella and pulled her close. Sadly, just as their lips touched, a certain rowdy gang of boys emerged from the restroom and began to make loud, exaggerated gagging noises. Grazi didn't take hit personally. They'd done the same thing to Mamie and Diesel on the train ride over. She laughed. "Yeah, yeah," she giggled.

"Fuck all of you," Tony said good naturedly.

Velma and Mamie joined the group. "We ready?" Velma asked, though her tone of voice made it clear that she was expecting the answer to be yes.

"We ready," Grazi confirmed. She sent Velma a look that she hoped said "we kissed!"

Velma nodded, looking proud. She'd gotten the message.

As the group walked in the direction of the amusement parks, Tony and Grazi held hands. Graziella should have been on top of the world. Things were going so well. She'd made friends, good friends. She and Tony had kissed (until they'd been so rudely interrupted) for gods sake! So why wasn't she more excited? And why, more importantly, was did she catch herself staring at Riff?
