Another day at school. Another day of hell. Faye hated school with all her might. She went into Math class, knowing that Cassie would be there. It was the only class they had in common, this year, and Faye always liked these hours, even if the hated Math. She always liked the way Cassie responded to her teasing words. How she was a challenge. A cute one.
And she was always in Math class with her. Except that morning, it seemed. Cassie never showed up. Did she skip ? Nah, Cassie would NEVER skip, she was little miss perfect, she couldn't have. Impossible. She always had the best grades easily whereas Faye struggled to keep her head above the water, even being the principal's daughter. Faye always had had a problem with school. Focusing was hard, especially when she knew that she had pagical powers that could give her what she wanted.
Cassie was never late for class, and she never skipped either. It was not a word in her vocabulary. She never did anything wrong, Except maybe when her dark magic acted up (almost) on it's own. When it did, Cassie became little miss darkness. Faye loved and feared these moments at the same time. Cassie could act so cute one moment, and be so intimidating the next ! Cassie was Faye's kind of challenge.
Faye went to her usual chair. The chair next to it was empty. It was where Cassie sat during this class, usually. Faye couldn't really say it to herself, but she was going to miss Cassie, if she didn'y show up. Without her, the Math class would be so boring ! Instead of trying to listen, Faye began to think. Where could Cassie be right now ? Was she in danger ? Was she with Adam, maybe ? Faye gritted her teeths. She liked Adam, but she hated the "star crossed lovers" thing they had. She didn't really know why. It just made her want to throw up. Faye looked at her phone. No calls, no texts. Okay. So maybe Cassie was not showing up on purpose. But why would she skip all of a sudden ? Cassie loved Math class. She even taught a few things to Faye who usually didn't understand anything.
