Ashlyn stepped inside the house as the first one.

"Player one has entered the field," Sasha joked.

Ashlyn smirked and looked over her shoulder. Her four friends stepped inside too. It looked like an old building that wasn't used in everyday life, and yet they could feel eyes on them. They all looked around but couldn't spot any cameras.

"They've done a great work hiding the cameras," Bayley said.
"Where's the elevator?" Charlotte asked.
"Over there," Summer answered.

Summer started walking towards the elevator in the right side of the room.

"Or we could take the stairs," Sasha suggested.

Ashlyn looked at the staircase in the middle of the room and then walked over to Summer.

"We can't break the rules. The note specifically said to take the elevator. The hunters are probably waiting close to the stairs for their cue to start hunting," Ashlyn said.

Sasha shrugged and walked over to join the other two. Charlotte and Bayley followed right after. Summer pressed the button, and the elevator door opened. They all stepped inside, and Summer pressed the button for the fifth floor.

"I'm scared," Sasha whispered.
"We're supposed to be," Charlotte said.

The door closed and the elevator started moving upwards. Ashlyn looked around, trying to see if there was anything useful to be found in there. They arrived at the fifth floor, and the door opened again. They all stepped outside and looked around.

"Do you guys see a note somewhere?" Bayley asked.
"Nope," Charlotte answered.
"This is it. The game has begun. We need to make it back down," Ashlyn said.
"So let's take the..." Summer started.

The elevator door closed, and they heard the elevator move downwards.

"...elevator," Summer finished her sentence.
"Guess not," Sasha chuckled.
"Let's try the stairs," Ashlyn said. "And be careful."

They turned in the direction of the stairs but stopped when three men wearing wolf masks came walking up carrying crossbows.

"Shit!" Sasha muttered.
"Do we fight them?" Charlotte asked. "We're five against three. We should be able to do something."
"Are there any rules about hurting them?" Bayley asked.
"No, there was nothing," Ashlyn said. "Why do those crossbows look so real?"

The tallest man with long hair raised his crossbow and aimed at Sasha. Ashlyn grabbed Sasha and pulled her aside just in time. The arrow hit the wall behind them. They all stared at the arrow that had penetrated the wall.

"It's real," Summer said.
"He shot an arrow at my head," Sasha looked at the man. "You shot an arrow at my head!"

The other two men raised their crossbows. Ashlyn pushed Sasha towards the nearest door.

"Run!" Ashlyn yelled.

All five women jumped into the nearest room, slammed the door, and locked it. They looked around in horror.

"What the fuck?" Charlotte asked.
"This way," Summer said.

Summer was already down by a door leading into another room. They all stormed in there and looked around again.

"I think it's an old hotel having been turned into a playground for three fucking maniacs," Charlotte said.
"They remodeled everything to connect rooms. They're gonna find us eventually if we don't keep moving," Bayley said.
"Let's just jump out of a window," Sasha said.
"We're five floors up. If we survive, we'll break both legs," Ashlyn said.
"Why the fuck did you bring us here?" Sasha snarled.
"I didn't fucking know!" Ashlyn yelled.
"Shut up!" Charlotte cut through. "What do we know? We know there's three men with crossbows hunting us down."
"Roman, Seth and Dean," Bayley said.

The other four women looked over at Bayley.

"Do you know them?" Summer asked.
"I went to high school with them. They were loners and weird. People used to joke about them shooting up the school one day. That never happened though," Bayley said.
"Instead they turned to this," Ashlyn said. "Fucking hell!"
"You brought us here," Sasha said.
"Enough!" Ashlyn growled.

Ashlyn walked over to Sasha and grabbed her face. Her dark brown eyes had a determined look in them. Sasha reached up and placed her hands on Ashlyn's head as well. The soft, blonde hair that went just below her ears touched Sasha's fingers.

"I'm scared," Sasha said.
"So am I," Ashlyn said. "But we're gonna make it out of here. We're gonna fucking make it out of here, alright? Let me hear you say it."
"We're gonna make it out of here," Sasha said.
"Okay, let's keep moving," Ashlyn said.

They heard someone start knocking on the door to the room they had just left.

"They're messing with us," Summer said.
"They don't know in what direction we'll run," Ashlyn said. "We need to go in the other direction. This one leads to the stairs. The other two will probably be waiting for us to come out further down that path. We might be able to trick them to get back to the elevator."
"Close every door behind us as we go," Charlotte said.

They ran back in the other direction. Opening and closing doors, walking silently through several rooms, looking for something to defend themselves with as they went. They finally made it to the final room. Ashlyn took a deep breath, walked over to the door to the hall, and quietly opened it.

"I don't see anybody," Ashlyn whispered.

All five of them quietly crept out into the hall. The three men were gone. Probably searching for them in some of the other rooms. They made it to the elevator, and Charlotte pressed the button. The elevator came up from the fourth floor. The door opened and they found themselves facing a man inside that had been waiting for them.

"Dean," Bayley whispered.

He fired the crossbow, and the arrow flew into Charlotte's stomach. She made a sound of pain and then raised her foot and kicked Dean back into the elevator. She fell into it and hit a button.

"Get out!" Charlotte shouted to her friends.

The elevator door closed, and it started moving downwards.

"The stairs!" Summer snapped.

All four of them sprinted to the stairs. They ran down and heard the elevator door open. Charlotte had only managed to hit the button for the fourth floor. They stopped and watched the door open. Charlotte was being pushed out and was clearly already dead. Dean stepped over her corpse and raised his crossbow again.

"Get back up!" Ashlyn yelled.

They turned around and ran back up the stairs. Dean fired the crossbow, and an arrow penetrated Sasha's head from behind. She fell down on the stairs while Ashlyn, Summer and Bayley continued upwards.

"Where to?" Bayley asked.
"Just get out of sight," Ashlyn said.
"Here, kitty kitty kitty!" A dark voice boomed.
"That's Roman," Bayley whispered.
"I don't care to meet him," Ashlyn grabbed Bayley's wrist. "Keep moving."

All three of them sprinted to the nearest room and locked the door behind them.

"What are we gonna do?" Summer asked.
"Ssh!" Ashlyn shushed Summer. "Listen."
"What's that?" Bayley asked.
"The elevator," Ashlyn answered. "They're sending it downstairs to make it harder on us."
