"What the fuck?" Seth asked.
All three men looked over at the elevator when they heard it move upstairs again.
"They tricked us," Roman chuckled. "They're smart."
"Not smart enough," Seth said.
"I do love it when the prey brings in a bit of fun like this," Dean said.
"Let's get up there," Roman said.
"No, let's wait right here," Seth said.
Seth walked over to the elevator and pressed the button.
"Free meal delivery," Seth smirked.
Upstairs Ashlyn and Summer made it down through the hatch and onto the top of the elevator.
"Hold on tight and don't make a sound," Ashlyn said.
The elevator started moving downwards. Both women held on to whatever they could get their hands on. The elevator stopped, and they heard the door open.
"What the fuck?" Dean asked.
"Smarty-pants here pressed the button before they got inside," Roman said.
"Oh, fuck it," Seth said. "Hold the door."
Roman held the door while Seth picked up a chair and put it in the doorway so the elevator door couldn't close again.
"Now they only got the stairs to use," Seth said. "Shall we?"
"We shall," Roman grinned.
"Either they're still up there or they've been moving so slow to avoid making any noises that they can't have made it past the third floor," Dean said.
"So let's start there," Roman said.
"Even if they made it further, it's not like they're gonna get over the fence," Seth said.
Ashlyn's heart sank. She had forgotten about the barb wired fence outside. She heard footsteps run up the stairs. She opened the hatch on the elevator and looked down. No one was there. She slowly lowered herself down, and Summer followed right after.
Ashlyn pointed outside and both women made it out of the elevator as quietly as they could. They went to the front door and opened it. It made a loud creaky sound, and both of them held their breaths while looking towards the stairs.
"Did you hear that?" Dean asked.
"Yup!" Roman answered.
"Fuck!" Summer muttered.
"Let's go!" Ashlyn growled.
They ran outside and stopped for a second.
"What are we gonna do?" Summer asked.
"Get in the fucking car!" Ashlyn barked.
They jumped into the car. Ashlyn started the engine and pressed down the gas. They flew towards the fence full speed. They slammed into the fence, and it broke enough for a smaller person to squeeze through.
"We need to get out," Ashlyn said.
They got out of the car and jumped up on top of the hood. Ashlyn squeezed her way through and heard a loud thump behind her. She turned and saw Summer down on the ground with an arrow through her head. She looked towards the house and saw Roman lower his crossbow while smirking.
"Final one!" Dean yelled.
"Fuck!" Ashlyn growled.
She jumped down on the ground and started running. She didn't make it far before an arrow went into her thigh and sent her down to the ground. She cried in pain and turned around enough to see Seth squeezing his way through the fence. She turned back around and started crawling over the ground.
"There's nowhere to run," he chuckled.
She didn't answer. She just kept crawling. She felt a kick in her back and she yelped in pain while falling forward. He placed his boot on her shoulder and managed to turn her over on her side. She looked up at the crossbow in his hands.
"Any last words?" He asked mockingly.
"I made it out," she said.
"Did you actually think you were ever gonna leave this place alive?" He asked.
"Fuck you!" She snarled.
"You wish you could," he chuckled.
He fired the crossbow and hit her straight in the eye. She fell down on the ground and laid there without moving.
"Is she dead?" Dean yelled.
"Stone dead!" Seth yelled back.
Seth grabbed her arm and dragged her back to the fence. Roman and Dean were standing on the other side. Seth was the only one small enough to squeeze his way through. He left Ashlyn's corpse, jumped back up on the hood of the car, and squeezed his way back inside.
"She damaged a perfectly good fence," Dean sighed. "It's gonna cost a bit to repair."
"We can afford it," Seth said.
"I know we can. I'm just annoyed. We've never had anyone actually make it outside before. These two did. I'm kinda impressed," Dean said.
"We always knew someone would at some point. We can't get overly cocky," Seth said.
"Move," Roman said. "I'm gonna move the car."
Seth and Dean stepped aside. Roman got into the car and put it in reverse. He backed away from the fence, killed the engine, and got out of the car again.
"There. Now we can open it for us all to get through," Roman said.
"Thank you, Superman," Dean smirked.
"Let's gather the bodies and get rid of them," Roman said.
"And then figure out the fence afterwards," Seth added.
"And then who to play with next," Dean said.
Roman and Seth looked at Dean and shook their heads.
"What?" Dean grinned. "Come on, I'm having too much fun with this. I know you do too."
"We do," Roman smirked.
"And we got plenty of people signed up to win the competition," Seth laughed. "Too bad they have no fucking clue what they're signing up for."
