"But it's such short notice, Jack." Maddie said with a frown.

"But Mads, It's Vladdie!" Jack whined as he slapped his hands on the dining table. "We haven't seen him in years!"

Danny rolled his eyes as his parents argued. He tuned them out, already knowing how the argument would go. Dad would whine some more, mom would try to reason with dad, dad wouldn't listen, and then–

"Fine, Jack, we can go." Maddie said with a sigh.

All in all a typical Jack and Maddie quarrel. Apparently the Fenton family would be spending a few days in Wisconsin at some rich guy's mansion for a college reunion. Vlad Masters was his name. Danny had never heard of the guy and he really didn't care who Vlad was. As long as Danny got to spend time away from school and ghosts he'd go wherever.

Vlad was a very strange man, Danny thought as he laid in the plush bed. There was just something off about him that Danny couldn't place. The fact that Vlad was a recluse that lived alone in a giant Green Bay Packers decorated mansion didn't help things.

Neither did the weird atmosphere between Vlad and his parents, especially his mom. It was clear there was some underlying shit going on but his dad was oblivious as usual. They'd only been there a few hours and things weren't looking good. But regardless of that Vlad was nice to him and Jazz from the little hello's and how are you's they exchanged.

Suddenly the familiar chill of his ghost sense flowed through him, breaking him from his thoughts. He groaned. This was supposed to be a ghost free trip. Danny transformed and went intangible, phasing through the wall. He flew through the hallways in search of the ghost that dared to ruin his trip.

So far he found nothing. He frowned, his ghost sense had never been wrong before. Could it be outside? He floated through the ceiling and out into the cool night air. He looked around. Not one ghost in sight. He decided to head into the forest. He'd probably find nothing again but he wanted to make sure just in case.

And it seemed Danny was wrong because as soon as he entered the forest his ghost sense went off again. He flew to where he sensed the ghost and to his surprise he came face to face with a girl not a ghost. Or was she a ghost? She had blue-green skin, cat-like green eyes, and a blue and white afro. Unless that was makeup and dye, those weren't human features.

He waved awkwardly. "Uh, hey?"

The girl's jaw dropped. "Sweet sufferin' swamp moss it's you! Danny Phantom!" she squealed in excitement and pointed the camera she was holding at him.

"You know who I am?"

She nodded. "All the Monster High ghouls know who you are! You're the bee's knees!"

"Wait Monster High? What's that?"

She lowered the camera and shot him a confused look. "You're a ghost and you don't know about Monster High?"

Danny shook his head. "Uhh, no. I'm pretty new to the whole dead thing."

She grimaced. "Oh. That explains things. Well you ain't gotta worry 'bout nothin' with me around!" she said as she pulled out a coffin shaped device and handed it to him. "Put your number in, please. I'll text you when I can take you around Monster High."

It took a minute of figuring out the device but Danny successfully put his info in and handed the phone back to her. "Umm, thanks, what's your name by the way?"

"Oh, how terribly rude of me. My name is Honey Swamp. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

"Nice to meet you too." he rubbed the back of his neck. "I should probably head back to my, uh, haunt. See ya later I guess?"

She smiled, her sharp teeth appearing in all their glory. "Of course, see you later Danny!"

And with that Danny flew away for once not minding a ghostly interruption.

"How'd you sleep last night, Daniel?" Vlad asked between bites of his breakfast.

"Fine, I guess."

Vlad hummed. "The bed was to your liking. No tossing or turning?"

"Uh, nope, none of that." Danny said, taking a bite of his pancakes.

"I see, so there was no late night forest rendezvous either?"

Danny choked. "W-what?!" he cried after catching his breath.

"He's just kidding Danny-o! Right Vladdie" Jack laughed.

"Of course I was. It was just a joke much like your marriage, Jack." Vlad said crisply.

"Vladdie, you're killing me! Always such a jokester!" Jack roared with laughter.

Danny spared a quick glance at Maddie who was clearly uncomfortable but staying silent. Something was definitely up. He stuffed more pancakes in his mouth, hoping Vlad wouldn't ask him any more questions if he were eating. Vlad knew something about last night. How he knew was the question.

There was no one in the hallways or the forest except Honey and he didn't see any cameras anywhere. He groaned inwardly. If Vlad knew then he didn't say anything to mom or dad yet. Danny hoped to god that Vlad kept his mouth shut. Danny didn't want to know what his parents would do to him if they found out.

"So, you're sure I can visit?" Danny–who was in his ghost form–asked Honey as they walked toward Monster High.

"Yup! I made sure with the Headmistress Bloodgood this morning."

He hummed in response. Honey had texted him earlier that day saving him from another awkward exchange with Vlad and the cringe-inducing mess that was his parents and Vlad's conversations.

"So how come I've never heard of Monster High when I was alive? Wouldn't it be all over the news?"

She hummed. "The school has been around for 2000 years and New Salem normies are used to us hauntin' the town. Also most normies who visit New Salem don't look too close. When they do, we're just a creepy story that no one will believe."

"So you hide in plain sight."

She grinned. "Pretty much."

After a few more minutes of walking they finally arrived at the doors of Monster High. They walked in and He was shocked. The school was wild. Coffins for lockers? Monsters, ghosts, were those zombies?! And the even crazier thing, they were staring at him too!

"Is that Danny Phantom?!" a cyclops girl cried.

"Oh my ghoul! I think it is!" a ghost girl squealed.

"Uhhhhhhhhhh!" a zombie girl yelled.

And all the while Honey was filming everything. "This will be the greatest film ever! A new ghost in a new world!"

He laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "Uhh, hi. My name's Danny and yes I'm that Danny."

And as soon as he said that all hell broke loose his fan ghouls rushed him. Asking for autographs and pictures and the zombie girl said a lot of uhhhhhhs so he was sure she wanted something too. He went invisible and grabbed Honey's wrist. Phasing them through a random wall that thankfully went to an empty room.

He dropped his invisibility. "That was insane."

"Yes, but it made good footage! C'mon Danny there's so much more to see, ghouls to meet, and not enough hours in the day!"

He forced a grin and Honey gave him a sharp tooth grin back. What in the hell did he get himself into?
