Disclaimer: I do not own Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword

Kella slowly walked through the door with the handle of the sealed grounds. She ran over to talk with the old woman.

"Your sword!" She gasped. "There can be no doubt in my mind. The sacred flames have purified this blade! Well done, Kella! That sword holds tremendous power!" She smirked.

"Sure does." Kella said, her smirk turning into a small grin.

"That power is a sacred force." The old woman continued, ignoring her. "It is a divine power left to us by the gods of ol-"

"Yeah, you've told me all this before." She said with a roll of her eyes as she stepped up onto the pedestal and unsheathed her sword. She raised it skyward, causing a blue beam of light to appear on her sword, only for it to disappear as the ground shook. Her eyes widened slightly as she quickly put her arms out on either side of her to regain her balance.

"It's-" She shot the old woman a glare.

"Shut it, grannie. It's the fucking Imprisoned. I'm going to take care of it."

"Heh, about time, too." Kella turned to give Groose an inquisitive look.

"What are you going on about now, mate?"

"You're bound to slip up a few times. And when you do, it'll be my time to test out my new toy." She smirked slightly at him.

"Oh, you mean that hunk of junk outside?"

"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY ABOUT HER!?" She grinned at him.

"Take your sexual frustration out on big ugly, out there." She glanced over her shoulder at him as she made her way to the doors. "And this time I actually do mean the imprisoned."

She ran forward, completely ignoring Groose as he attempted to tell her about his device. "Don't worry big fella, I get it. I'll call you when I need you. Or better yet, just watch and learn from me and if heaven forbid I do slip up, then I'll just count on you to spot it and let him have it. Sound good?" She called over her shoulder before she abruptly jumped off of the ledge, all of them, and floated down to the ground.

When The Imprisoned emerged from the hole she noticed that he had one distinctive new feature. "Heh. Big ugly decided to grow himself a pair of arms." She mused with a slight grin in her voice. She unsheathed her sword and was about to start hacking away at his toes when the speed, how much faster he was walking than last time, distracted her causing her to stumble back, getting hit by the red electricity.

She gasped slightly in shock before she quickly got to her feet just as the Imprisoned reached up with his new found hands and grabbed onto the ledge above them.

"Okay, Kella the machines all loaded. If that flabby bag of teeth-"

"Just hit him!" She screamed at the top of her lungs up at him. She ducked, her arms going over and around her head instinctively at the sound of the explosion. She peeked over her arms as the smoke cleared to find that the imprisoned was on his back. She used an wire geyser to get on the ledge above, as his arms were blocking her from going around him, and jumped down over by his head. She hit the stone repeatedly until he screamed and rose back to his feet.

"Ugh. This should be fun..." She muttered.

She had dirt and blood all over her clothes by the time she had defeated the imprisoned and carved the symbol into the stone. She was now stood on top of a pedestal and sent her skyward strike into the gate of time. The giant slab of rock started to come apart in glowing little bits. They hovered there, glowing brightly. They turned, making different outlines as the re-formed into each other, creating a giant gate. She sheathed her sword calmly and slowly approached the gate. her heart was pounding. After all this time, she'd be able to see link again. See if he was alright. She took a deep, shaky breath before she slowly pressed her fingers against the surface of the gate, causing it's surface to turn black and blue. She turned to Groose. "...Are you coming?"

"Nah, I gotta stay here. Somebody's gotta look out for granny." He said something else which she didn't quite catch. She slowly walked into the gate of time, knowing everything was about to change.

Everything looked relatively the same in the past as it did in the present. It was unbelievable. "Hey!" She turned her head to see Impa trying to get her attention.

"Oh. Hi." She scratched the back of her neck awkwardly. She just wanted to collapse on the floor and cry. Show weakness, for once, instead of always having to be strong. Evidently that wasn't an option.

"Your brother and Zelda are back there. Zelda will explain everything to you." Impa informed her.

"Kay." She smiled almost sadly. "Thanks." She slowly walked up the steps and into the small area where Zelda was waiting, her back to her. Beside her was Link! "...Link. Zelda." Kella gasped softly.

"Kella!" Link said, monotone as ever. Zelda slowly turned around, a sad look on her face.

"Hey, what's with the sad face?" Kella tried to joke, but her heart was hitting her chest so hard she could barely breathe, let alone talk.

"Shoosh." Link murmured, suddenly becoming very sad. "Don't talk, just listen. Zelda has something to say to you."

"I'm listening." Kella whispered, turning her gaze to Zelda.

"We've travelled very far from home. All three of us. In this era, in the distant past, which I assume you had guessed this was, the land has only just started to recover from the destruction Demise caused." Kella blinked at her.

"Yeah. Sure seems that way." She smiled softly.

"The legends, told by our people in sky loft about the war...They didn't tell you the whole story." Zelda turned her gaze to the hole in the roof that allowed sunlight to come in. "Let me try and explain. The old gods created a Supreme Power that gave anybody who possessed it, the ability to shape reality and fulfill any desire. They called it the Triforce. In his thirst to make the world his own, Demise rallied a massive army of monsters for war. He sought to take the Triforce by force. The goddess feared for he people. She sent both them, and the triforce into the sky on a slice of earth she cut away from the land. This new rock became the new home to our people. It came to be known, as Skyloft." Kella nodded softly, as she let herself sink to the ground, crossing her legs under her. She was tired.

"Okay...Continue." She murmured, not taking her eyes off of the girl for a second.

"After a long, and fierce battle, the Goddess, Hylia, succeeded in sealing away the Demon King, Demise. However, soon after the Demon King became imprisoned, it became clear that the seal would not hold long against his fearsome power. Hylia had suffered great injuries in her battle against the Demon King. She knew that if he broke free again, there would be no stopping him. And if the Demon King were to free himself, it would mean the end of the world for all beings in this land. in order to stop the demon king, Hylia devised two separate plans and put them in motion." Kella's eyebrows knitted together in confusion. "First, she created Fi." Kella glanced over her shoulder at the handle of her sword, where she knew her sword spirit resided.

"What?" She gasped out, leaning forward attentively.

"She created the spirit that resides in your sword to serve a single purpose: to assist the chosen hero on his, well turns out, her mission, I should say." She walked down the stairs slowly as she talked and came to a halt at the bottom of the stairs. "Her second plan, was to abandon her divine form, and transfer her soul to the body of a mortal. She made this sacrifice so that the divine power protected by the gods could one day be used. While the supreme power was made by gods, it could never be used by a god. Knowing this power was her last and only hope, Hylia gave up her divine power and her immortal form. You have probably figured this out already. You, are the hero chosen by the gods. And me? I am the Goddess reborn as a mortal. The day of the wing ceremony, Ghirahim tornado tossed me out of the sky and brought me down into the world below." Kella looked away from Zelda for a moment before rising to her feet as Zelda came to a stop directly in front of her.

"...Yeah. He told me that much..."

"I was nearly captured by his demonic forces but was rescued at the last moment by the old woman who lives in the sealed grounds. I had no memory at all of my life as Hylia, but she explained it all to me about who I was. And what I had to do. I set out to pray at each goddess statue located in each temple across the land." Kella grinned softly.

"Yeah. It was a real bitch. Everytime I thought I was nearly caught up to you, you'd disappear again." She joked.

Zelda smiled softly at her. "Each statue stirred up memories within me. After I visited them all, Impa, and agent of the goddess, led me here, to the past. All of this is part of the same great effort to prevent the revival of Demise." Kella stared at her as she listened intently. Stripped of his true physical form by the seal that binds him, he takes the shape of an abomination. But even in his hideous state, he's more than capable of devouring this land if we allow him to do what he desires." Zelda paused for a moment, then lifted her head to look Kella in the eye. "We must stop him from freeing himself from the seal that imprisons him. At any cost..."

"I agree, wholeheartedly." Kella murmured, putting one hand on her heart.

"I intend to remain here, in this time and place... To sustain the seal as best I can." Kella had no time to react, Link beat her to it.

"Zelda, no!"

"As long as I continue this vigil," She continued, like he'd never said anything. "We may be able to keep the Demon King from fully reviving in our own time." She looked away. "I must keep the seal that Hylia, rather that I, created so long ago, and keep it strong for as long as I am able. With the memories of my former life returning to me, I can see now that this is my purpose. Kella...Link... There is something else you both must know." Kella blinked at her.

"Okay..." Kella murmured, not liking the sounds of where this was headed.

"The goddess created Fi and the great blade she is apart of for a very specific reason. For the task of standing against Demise in the monstrous form he now assumes, rests solely on your shoulders." She said, turning to Kella. "Back in our own time, you've already driven him back into his prison twice now... I can't even begin to than you enough for that, Kella. Along your journey, you gain power, courage, and wisdom from the temples, and trials that you have endeared. You can now claim the Triforce!" She blinked at her. "Kella...Kneel."

"Excuse me-"

"Just do it!" Zelda snapped.

Kella glared at her before she hesitantly knelt down on one knee. She placed her right hand in Zelda's two.

"Valiant hero, you have endured many hardships and journeyed far in your quest to get here. Along your travels you have found wisdom, power, and courage, and for that I shall bless your sword with the goddesses power. May it give you and your sword the strength to drive back the abomination that threatens this land!" At first, nothing happened as her loud words seemed to echo around the temple. Then, the symbol of three triangles appeared on the back of her right hand. "The mark on the back of your hand is proof that you hold tremendous power. It is the mark of the Triforce. stand now and draw your sword."

Kella narrowed her eyes briefly at her before she did as she said, hesitantly handing her sword over to her. The moment her blade touched Zelda's fingers it glowed. Zelda held it up high above her head and Kella watched in shock and awe as the wings on the handle, spread outward, and the blade turned from dark silver, to bright, heavenly white.

"The Goddess has imbued your blade, and the master sword has now achieved it's final form. Only you may wield it Mistress." Kella heard Fi's voice in her head as she took the blade in her hand again.

"Before I say another word, I need to apologize. To you both." Zelda said solemnly.

"Apologize? For what?" Kella questioned, placing her sword back in it's sheath.

"You see..., the mark of the Triforce on your hand is the symbol of the greatest power in the world. If you can obtain the actual Triforce, we will have the power to vanquish Demise once and for all. The problem is, among the countless souls in this world, only a select few, those with an unbreakable spirit, can wield its might." She started to walk away from her. "It's impossible to know why the old gods created the Triforce. But I have a theory of my own. The gods created the Triforce, yet they specifically made it so that their own kind could never use it's power."

Kella blinked at her. "Yeah, and?"

"And, I think that may have been their way of giving hope to all the mortal beings in the land." She came to a stop at the bottom of the stairs, her back to her. "Which brings us back, to you and Link."

"Huh?"

"To face Demise and give the land hope, the goddess, Hylia, needed someone with an unbreakable spirit. That someone...was not you Kella. Not originally."

"What?"

"It was Link. At least, I thought it was. Hylia, I mean I, knew that if it meant saving Zelda, he would toss himself head-first into any danger. I made his mind that way. But... then a seer came. She said that Link, though he had the unbreakable spirit required, he wouldn't be the one to save the world. She foresaw, You, Kella. I didn't believe her at first. It wasn't until I was about to transfer my soul into the ether, where it would stay until Zelda was born. Then Hylia's, my soul, would enter her. I had already put the plans in motion preparing Link's spirit, preparing for him to be Zelda's friend, to care about her enough."

"What are you saying?"

"I..." Zelda sighed. "I changed the circumstances. I changed it so that Link would be your brother. He would still come after me. And you would go after hm, because of your family ties. I...I used you. I used you both. I can never apologize enough for that." She came to a stop at the top of the stairs, link stood directly in front of her. "I was quite happy use spending my days, flying around Skyloft with you." A bunch of tiny balls of light started to gather around her and Link wasted no time. He threw himself at her, wrapping his arms around her neck in an embrace. Zelda would have pushed him off and out of the barrier, but it was too late.

Kella's eyes widened as she saw that her brother was trapped inside the crystallized prison. She ran forward at breakneck speed, pounding her fists hard against the surface. "Zelda! LINK! YOU MORONS! STOP THIS!" She screamed at the top of her lungs, tears rolling down her face.

"While it is true that I am Hylia reborn, I am still my father's daughter, I am still Link's friend." She murmured solemnly. "Link is still your brother. This was his destiny. To be necessary to get you off you bum to save us all!" Zelda's voice was so powerful it shook her to her core.

"No. No. NO! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!" She screamed at them.

"Kella." Link murmured. "Stop. You'll hurt yourself."

"You idiot." She sobbed.

"Just...promise us something..."

"I always would wake up Link..."

"Conroy would always wake you up..."

"So please..."

"Please..."

"DON'T BE A LAZY TWAT!" They said together. "When all this is over, come and wake us up!" And with those last words, the crystal became solid, breaking off all contact.

Kella crumpled to the ground at the foot of the crystal, sobbing softly. "I promise..." She whispered.
